Hi,
Did you get an error when you attempted to export your MS Access 2002 database using the omwb2002.mde file? If so, could you please post the error message, and also supply the following information:
* Version of MS Access installed on your machine?
* Operating System and version?
* Service Pack installed on OS?
Hopefully we can resolve your issue once we've obtained the above required information.

  • How to remove app designer migration access from the Developer id

    Team,
Please guide me with steps to remove app designer migration access from the Developer id.
I want that developer can create the project but do not have migration access.
    Rgds,

Did you already remove the other permission lists/roles you identified in your previous response like I told you to do in my first response?  The user can have no permission lists that grant this access.  Working with a clone of VP1 is a bad strategy.  Security should be handled from the bottom up, adding what is required for a user to perform their necessary functions.  Cloning VP1 and removing roles/permissions is security from the top down and will undoubtedly leave you with a user that is still granted more access than you like even after removing this particular access.  You should really be working with your companies security admin on this, they may have a standard way of doing this.  Many places I've been use custom roles and permission lists when deviating from the Oracle delivered security.
Does ABC user still have any access to UPGRADE?
    select ru.roleuser, ru.rolename, rc.classid, ai.barname from psroleuser ru
    join psroleclass rc on ru.rolename = rc.rolename
    join psauthitem ai on ai.classid = rc.classid
    where ai.menuname = 'APPLICATION_DESIGNER'
    and ai.barname = 'UPGRADE'
    and ru.roleuser = 'ABC'

  • Unable to reinstall SCVMM 2012 R2 during database migration - access denied to VMMDKM container

I'm trying to migrate my SCVMM 2012 R2 DB to a new SQL 2012 server. As per TechNet article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn469626.aspx,
I uninstalled VMM, which went without a problem. During the reinstall, setup fails with "Unable to create or access the Active Directory container CN=VMMDKM,CN=System,DC=feroscare,DC=local. Access is denied. Specify the distinguished name
for the container and verify that you have GenericRead|CreateChild|WriteProperty rights on the container." - as is shown in the setup log below.
I'm trying to use the same account as the service account and to connect to the database. I'm logged into the VMM server as that user account (and running setup as that account). I have verified that the account has full control over the VMMDKM container
and all descendant objects. I've also added these permissions for the VMM server's computer account, although I'm not sure that's necessary.
VMM server is running Win 2012 R2, SQL server is 2012 running on Win 2012 R2. Domain controller is running 2008 R2 with AD at the 2003 functional level.

  • Migrating Access DB to Oracle Hosted APEX environment

I was wondering if there was a way to migrate an Access DB to the Oracle Hosted APEX environment using the Oracle Migration Workbench? You have to specify the location of the DB and schema and I don't know this information since the DB location is on the Oracle Hosted site. I would like to evaluate the migration functionality of the APEX tool without having to download it locally along with Oracle 10G. Is there a way to do this using the Hosted website?
    Thanks!

The quick answer to this is no.
However, there are some services (http://www.appshosting.com) which do offer that type of access at no charge.

  • Error while Migrating Access to Oracle!

    Hi,
I am migrating MS Access 97 database to oracle 10g through Oracle migration workbench. I am using default repository but when I am executing C:\omwb\msaccess_exporter\omwb97.mde to generate XML file by clicking on button Export Database Schema for my access database it is giving
    ERROR # 3376 - DAO.Database - Table '_OracletblDatabase' dosent exist.
I have MS Access plug-in C:\omwb\plugins\MSAccess.jar. and installed MDAC 2.61
Please tell me what exactly is the problem is and corrective action to resolve this error.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
You'll see such messages if you have abruptly stopped the export process previously. The solution is to remove all the _oracletble objects in the "table objects" view in the access file that your exporting [source mdb]. Try again after removing all unknown tables [they ususally have an "_" at the start]. This should bring ur export successfully.
    Kind regards,

  • Migrating Access Query Variables

    Hello All,
I noticed that Access queries with user input variables cause the migration wizard process to abort in the build phase. When you look at the generated sql file in SQL Developer, you see a comment about " -- intentional generation error" which aborts the migration.
I also noticed that if you run these commands one at a time that a pop-up appears and asks you for a variable name and the query is added to Oracle. Is there any way to make this happen during the quick migration process so that the whole process doesn't abort? Or some other way to ignore these errors? I ended up just deleting them from the Access application, but it seems to me that the migrator should handle this since they are so common.
    TIA,
    Mark

An SQL version IIF was introduced in SQL Server 2012 and newer:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh213574.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
Here is a sample for your question:
Create table test ( [SpellHRGCode] varchar(50))
    Insert into test values('DZ11123'),('DZ23555'),('DZ999')
Select IIf([SpellHRGCode] Like 'DZ11%','Lobar, Atypical or Viral Pneumonia'
,IIf([SpellHRGCode] Like 'DZ23%','Bronchopneumonia','Trauma')) as [HRG Group]
    from test
    drop table test
By the way, you can always use the CASE expression to rewrite your query for any version of SQL Server.

  • Migrating Access 2003 DB to Oracle

    Hi.
I’m trying to migrate an Access 2003 (*.mdb) database to Oracle using this tutorial http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/db/hol08/sqldev_migration/msaccess/migrate_microsoft_access_otn.htm , but i’m experiencing some problems.
I’ve installed the Oracle Database XE and SqlDeveloper 3.0 without problems.
In SqlDeveloper, i’ve succeeded in making the connections and users and making an XML export, but when I get to the pint of “Capturing the Microsoft Access Exported XML” I get into problems. The ‘Migration’ point in the menu is simply missing.
I’ve have searched a bit to check out if I was fx missing an add-in but it seems not to be the issue.
Can someone tell me how get the Migration point in the menu?
Instead I’ve tried the Tools – Migration – Migrate Wizard and it seems to work, when I choose the Offline method. But I would like it to work as described in the tutorial. What am I doing wrong?

    Hello,
The version 3 of SQL Dev introduces a new method to migrate from access :
    1. Create a new connection to this Access Database
    2. Right-click on the connection name and choose "Copy to Oracle".
You will have then to choose where this database must be copied and if you want to include the data or not.
Please have a try and keep me informed of the result.
    Cheers,
    Jean-Patrick

  • Migration: Access 2003 to Oracle SQL

    Dear All
I would like to perform a migration from Access 2003, to Oracle 10g. I am using SQL Developer for the task, and have reached the point of capturing the XML file that I exported from Access. I need to create a migration repository on the target database, and this is causing problems as I do not have all the necessary privileges.
In the process, I have been advised that migrations from Access to Oracle are not easy to achieve, and in fact require careful planning before execution. My objective is not really to transfer the data stored within the database file. I only really want to convert Access logic into Oracle SQL code. I was wondering if anyone could advise on the typical odds of success in achieving this task.
I migrated the same Access database to MS SQL Server some time ago and the process seemed to go smoothly. Would it be reasonable then to migrate from MS SQL to Oracle SQL if this is easier?
Any feedback would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you.
    M

    Thanks for your response.
I am not familiar with the intricacies of the process, I'm just following the instructions set out in the Oracle Migrating 3rd Party Databases white paper.
In this document, a process is set out consisting of steps that export an Access database, and then capture it to an Oracle user area with appropriate privileges. The process is achieved through Oracle SQL Developer.
I'd be very grateful if you could expand on your answer if there is a better way of translating Access queries into Oracle SQL. I am aware that an Access front-end is capable of connecting with an Oracle database to execute queries, however, there are considerable limitations in the use of Access that I would like to avoid - hence the migration.

  • Migrate Access Reports to APEX

We already built reports by using Microsoft Access to query one Oracle Schema (11G R2) and generate all the access based reports. We would like to migrate the Access based reports to APEX platform, Are there any best approaches to achieve these? Thanks for your help.
    Kevin

You DON'T MIGRATE Them, you will have to recreate them in APEX.. Have you done ANY development work before in APEX? If Not, I would suggest this tutorial to help learn APEX..

  • Migrating access 2003

    Hello,
This access 2003 schema is not properly normalized and has some design inconsistencies. What's the recommended approach to migrate to Oracle? Migrate to Oracle 9i and fix the issues OR Fix access tables, forms (and code), reports (and any code) and then migrate to Oracle? Thanks in advance for any answers.

Well if you are going to continue with your Access front end, it might be simpler in the long run to address your schema issues in Access, make any form and code changes you need. Then test the modified application and migrate the schema+data to Oracle and create the necessary link tables to point to the tables in Oracle.
This approach should reduce the complexity of the migration effort.

  • Migrate ACCESS form to Forms 6i

Is ist possible, to migrate MS Access forms based on ORACLE TABLES (via ODBC) to a ORACLE forms 6i application???
    THANKS for help

Most of the stuff will be imported without problemsWhat about the other stuff...????
Surely , the form built-in procedures/functions which do not exist in 6i will cause the biggest problem.....
Also , some others .. such as get_application_property in v.10g have more parameters than of v.6i....(for example sso_userid,e.t.c.).... and other built-in procedures/functions , as well.....
So , i would say that the result may not be so...reliable...!!!!!!!
