Migrate ADF application from version 10.1.2 to 10.1.3

Dear all,
I have migrated a ADF application from version 10.1.2 to 10.1.3.
The original project has been opened with jdeveloper 10.1.3 and the 10.1.2 libraries set in the server.xml and orion-application.xml files as explained in this page
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/10g-howto-deploy-a-1012-adf-applica-090135.html?ssSourceSiteId=otnjp
When I tried to run the application Ihad the following Java exception
Does anyone ever had the same problem?

After installing adfmweb.jar as a library in target server, we tried again, but the error was just the same.
Can anyone give us a clue?
    Thanks a lot,

That won't work. ADF 10g doesn't run on WLS. You need to upgrade to ADF 11g through JDeveloper.
    See the Upgrade Guide: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/upgrade.1111/e10127/toc.htm

  • I need help migrating my applications from my old G5 power mac to my new macbook pro

Im struggling migrating my applications from my G5 power mac to my new macbook pro. My G5 runs on OS X 10.5.8 and when using the traditional tool of Migration assistant my new macbook urges me to update my G5 which it obviously it can't due to its original licensing agreements. I have no codes for my software as it came on the pc: I need , Logic pro 9, the complete adobe CS4 package and final cut pro . How can i put this on my new mac ??

So you never really owned the software to begin with then. Software is licensed and has to be transferred and when you bought your Mac (PC) they really did not.

As for a temporary solution, you can run 10.6.8 as a VM under later versions of Mac OS X like Mavericks so you can have use of Rosetta and it runs the PowerPC code.
Your new Intel Mac can run Windows natively also, can dual boot both Mac and Windows, if that is of any use, for some it is.
Right now you are not in the MacBook Pro forum! :-) This is Mac Pro sans "Book" and is not a laptop at all, but a 'trash can' or tower.

  • Migration of application from Oracle Express 6.3.4 to Essbase 9

I got a requirement to migrate an application from Oracle Express to Essbase. Can any one help me if there is any documentation for migration or else do I have to rebuild a new application in Essbase with the same functionality as in Oracle Express.
    Rgrds,
    G.K

As far as I am aware there is no migration tool to convert to essbase and you will have to build a new application in essbase.
On a side note this campaign from Oracle back in 1998 amuses me - http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=4VEEAAAAMBAJ&lpg=PA17&ots=Amg-YO3m5X&pg=PA17#v=onepage&q&f=false
The line "Oracle Express Server slaughtered Arbor Essbase in both load and calculation times and query times" is a classic.
I wonder if Oracle feel the same way now :)

  • Beginner's Guide for migrating an application from WLS6.1 to 10

    Hi,
I am new to Bea WLS and need migrate an application from WLS 6.1 to 10. Right now I am trying to reconfigure the deployment descriptors but as I am new to this I don't really know where to start.
Has sw. did the same or knows good resources / documentation about that issue?
    Help woud be really apreciated.
    Kind regards

Looks like a good candidate for TheDailyWTF...
The error happens when the username is an empty string (""), likely the SQL query isn't returning any results. Have you tested this with users that are set up in the database? Are you able to connect to the SQL instance?
As an aside, I suggest you change the sa password for your SQL Server instance now that you've published the password. Or better still create a dedicated SQL Login for this application or use Windows authentication.

  • Deployment of ADF application from Sub version

    Hi All,
Using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3. We have integarted SVN with our jdeveloper. Now we have to deploy the application. How I can do that, using my local working copy, or I have export the application from SVN and then open it with Jdeveloper and proceed with deployment?
    Regards,
    Vikram

    This depends on your needs.
If you only deploy to a test server you are fine to use your local copy. If you need to go back to the exact copy of all sources of tge deployed version you have to go a different path.
We normally do a fresh checkout of all projects needed to build the application into a fresh directory, build all projects (hopefully without error) make the needed jars, wars and ears. If all this goes without error, we first delploy it on the test server to see it the deployment is ok. Then we tag this version in svn (this enables us to do fixing in the exact version) and deploy it on the QS server for testing. If all tests went through we deploy the exact eras to the production server.
When a user finds an error in the production version you have to decide if you fix the error right in the production version (hot fix) or if you fix it in the normal development cycle.
Hot Fixes are done on the tagged version to make sure nothing else changes beside the error. The fix has to be ported to the development version too! If the error is already fixed you can backport it to the tagged version.
Checking out the projects, building and deploying is done outside from jdev via ant (you can try maven if you want).

  • Migrating an application from JDev 10.1.3 to JDev 10.1.3.2

    Hi,
I am having trouble migrating an application made with JDev 10.1.3 to 10.1.3.2.
Everything is fine when I run it on the embedded OC4J, but when I try to deploy I have problems.
The application is deployed on OAS 10.1.3R3.
What I have done so far was to install the new ADF libraries using ADFinstaller, editing server.xml as per Note:417812.1 and include adf-faces-api.jar, adf-faces-impl.jar, jsf-api.jar, jsf-impl.jar and adfshare.jar from JDev 10.1.3.2 to my project WEB-INF/lib folder.
Some pages are working as they should, but when a date is to be displayed I have this error:
javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: oracle.jbo.domain.Date.timestampValue()Ljava/sql/Timestamp;So, am I missing some jar to be included? Have I missed a step or two?
    Thank you for your help.
    adsm

    Solved.
For some reason, once the application has been migrated, the following lines were added to orion-application.xml:
        <imported-shared-libraries>
            <import-shared-library name="adf.generic.domain" min-version="10.1.3"></import-shared-library>
            <remove-inherited name="adf.oracle.domain"></remove-inherited>
        </imported-shared-libraries>
-------I do not know if the migration tool was directly responsible for this. Anyway, as this project has been migrated time and time again from a JDev version anterior to 10, this kind of thing was bound to happen someday.
    Cheers,
    adsm

    ________________________________________________________________________________

Yes, but the application under 10.1.3 points to the application.jws file in the old 10.1.2 directory.
I want the application to point to the .jws file JDeveloperApplication/<application>/<application>.jws.
10.1.3 keeps this pointer somewhere and would like to change it. I scanned the jdev directory for files containing <application>.jws, and found it in the binary file jdev/system/oracle.jdeveloper.10.1.3.36.73/system.sys file, and the ide.properties file, and the system/oracle.ide.10.1.3.26.73/windowinglayout.xml file.
None of these files seem to be the place to make the adjustments.
I guess the more general question for me is "How should JDeveloper be configured to allow for migration of applications? (It does not seem to be a no-brainer!) How should it be configured when additional libraries have been included in the list libraries of prior JDeveloper version and need to be migrated/duplicated to a new version of JDeveloper? How are connections supposed to be migrated (for database, cvs, application servers)? How should JDeveloper be configured for team use? (Each member of a team should maintain identical JDeveloper configurations. Yes?)"
But, first things, first. How do I point a JDeveloper application to a different .jws and application directory?

  • Migrate DRM application from PROD to TEST environment

How I can migrate all DRM application from PROD to TEST environment. The first way this is using migrate utility and then create all export/import utility. But this way does not give 100% guaranty of identity the PROD and TEST environment.
As relation database I am using Oracle DB. Can I migrate DRM application using exp/imp utility for oracle users (MDM and MDM_DB) and after that changing information directly in oracle tables in the TEST environment?

This response is not timely but others may find it useful...
You can use the Oracle database export and import processes, but there are several additional steps in the process. In general this is a high risk endevour that should not be attempted by the faint of heart. (See #3 below!) Attempt at your own peril.
    1) Make a copy of the Username table so that you have the Test versions of the encrypted passwords for DRM internally managed accounts. These will need to be updated post import if there are any differences.
    2) After you delete the tables in Test, it's best to create them with the install scripts prior to import because once an Oracle table containing a blob datatype has a stored value the Oracle import is no longer tolerant of changes in target tablespace names for all tables containing blobs within that schema. (Known bug) However, the create tables install script has an insert statement or two that need to be commented out or the import will create duplicate rows that will cause errors enabling constraints.
    3) After the import completes all exports and books need to be modified to no longer point to production target locations, especially for exports to database tables! Ideally this step would be completed and QA'd prior to starting the application server; however, the application server must be running if the migration utility is going to be leveraged to propagate these updates so the process I use is to lockout all users until this step is completed.
    4) Also note that if the Prod and Test app servers are not using the same authentication settings the system preference needs to be changed or the application server may not start.

  • Migrate an application from x86 to x64. Compiling succeed, but can not run. Always start with error 0xc0000142.

platform: windows server 2008 r2; ide: visual studio 2005 (installed the x64 development kit)
    Hi, everyone.
I want to migrate my application to x64 platform from x86/win32 platform. I added x64 platform in visual c++ 2005 option, and compiled successfully. But the application can not start. When start it always pop up an alert dialog saying "The application
was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application."  Meanwhile, it's worked well when I use win32 option to compile.
Someone says online, the dependency walker can detect some root cause. I used it, and found that IEFRAME.dll may be had some problem because when I double click it, pop up a dialogue saying "Errors were detected when processing "c:\windows\system32\IEFRAME.DLL".
See the log window for details.". But I can not resolve this issue.
    Please help me.

If I had to try to solve this:
I'd start by verifying that I can compile, and run a skeleton x64 Windows app.  Just create one from scratch using the Windows Application project template, add the x64 platform, build it and run.  Hopefully all goes well.
If that works, then I'd try trimming down your app to just its essentials.  If you're not using revision control software, back up your projects now, because once you find the problem by hacking and slashing, you'll want to revert so you can make a
    clean fix.
The first thing to do here is just put a return 0; in the beginning of WinMain to see if it's code at runtime that's causing the problem or something about the linking and dependent library loading.
I'm guessing that, even with return 0, you will still have a problem, which would suggest that you are perhaps still linking against a 32-bit version of a library or something like that.  Start removing dependencies or references or libraries until
you can build and run your stripped-down application.  Eventually you'll find the one reference/library that causes it to fail to load.
You can also check the debug window to see if some modules loaded correctly and others not.
    You can also run
Process Monitor (sysinternals) to see which dll it was accessing when it failed to load.
Make sure you revert any changes you made while hacking and slashing, then make your platform fixes, and have another go.
I suspect that eventually you'll find that you've added a link library that is a 32-bit .lib or a component that references a 32-bit library.  You'll have to make sure you specify the x64 .libs for whatever libraries you are using.  Sometimes this
means that you have to change you additional linker directories to point to the x64 libs instead of the x86/win32 libs.  Be very careful about your platform when specifying linker libraries, directories, etc.
It could also be that the x64 version of a dll has been copied to your output folder rather than the x86 version, assuming they have the same name.  You'll have to sort out your SDKs and get the right .libs and .dlls.
Make sure that your settings and property pages are set correctly for Release and Debug, and for x86 and x64.
