Migrate Classificaiton using ICE

Hello:
I have a question regarding migrating the classification for documents in KM using the ICE tool. I have classified a bunch of content into a taxonomy and now I would like to migrate all of that content into my stage environment. Using the ICE tool (via Offline package) I am able to migrate the taxonomy and the content, but not the classification settings for the content.
Does the ICE tool support the migration of the classification settings?

Hi Matt,
as far as I know this is not supported as ICE is a standard-protocoll.
But you can transport your taxonomy including queries starting with SPS10. After that the classification-process will do the work

Folders affected after KM Content Transport using ICE Methodology

Hi All,
I am encountering a strange behaviour when I use ICE methodology to Transport KM Content.
When I migrate a particular folder using ICE package, the folder gets transported successfully to the target system, but after the Transport, the other folders in the target system are getting affected.
Can anyone tell me the reason for this starnge behaviour of ICE package.
Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

Follow below defined process
Go to -
>Content Administration--->KM Content->go to ice(folder)->go to Syndicator->go to Global Offer> Clear (delete) all folder shortcut links>above breadcum you will see Folder command click there-> Select New>Select Link>Browse and select the folder you want to transport->select the folder link and click on Complete Package--> file will be downloaded
This file you can upload in other server through Content Management---->Package Upload---> Browse and select file and upload
I think you must be doing the same process but you might not be clearing old folder links which can cause the problem and replace other folders whose link is there available in Global Offer folder.(This step in process is highlighted with underline)
Just Clear and try once ....

Using ICE in EP5 SP5

Hi,
I am needing to use ICE to move some content from an EP5 SP5 system to an upgraded EP5 SP6 clone so we can migrate to NW2004 SPS14. Someone prior to me has removed access to ICE from within the Portal navigation in the roles. I know that there is a direct URL to use ICE in EP5 SP5, but have not been able to find it.
Will someone with great knowledge please advise me as to where I may find the direct URL to ICE in EP5 SP5?

I'm tring to export all user and group information from a Hyperion Shared Services 9.2.1 by using CSSExport.bat
When there was only native directory in HSS, i can export these information successfully.
But when I enabled NTLM external user authentication following error occurred:

Troubleshooting Tip: If HSS is configured for an NTLM provider, DRM services may not start due to error: "Exception Emdm_Exception with message 'Could not Initialize CSS. Error: 'getOSVersion'."
You may receive the following error after clicking the "Enable CSS" button in DRM Console: “LoadLibrary("C:\Hyperion\Master Data Management\mdm_ntier_css_validator.dll") failed - The specified module could not be found.”
To resolve both of these conditions, update the Windows System Path on the Data Relationship Management server with the applicable JRE and CSS pathing below.

I found these is no directory "%HYPERION_HOME%\common\CSS\9.2.0\bin;" exists but "%HYPERION_HOME%\common\CSS\9.2.1\bin;"
I configured PATH by setting to above, and tried CSSExport again, still failed.
Than I disabled the NTLM is HSS, tried CSSExport again. It was successful.
So I am convinced that the problem caused by NTLM or PATH environment variable or some files associated.
Does anybody know the solution ?

I recommend you upgrade at least to 10.1.0.5. 10.1.0.2 comes with the very first version of csalter.plb, which has not the current implementation. From and to which character set do you try to migrate?

How do you increase the maximum number of migration batches using EAC?

When I try to run a new batch, I'm getting the following error message:
The maximum number of migration batches is already running. Please remove a batch before you add another one.

we have used ICE online to transfer our contents.
The contents are transferred.
The ACL and metadata properties modified by is transferred correctly,but showing created by as the id which has done the trasfer .
Is there any option to transfer the data regarding Created by also.

I am using ICE offline only .
the second thing is i checked in the repository manager it is using db mode to store the data .
and as its under /documnets ita a cm store .
one thing i want to know is in the repository manager we see some repository services like feedback,discussion ...there i dont see created by .
is that the cause .

here enter file port, trfc port, partner name.
then follow below steps(as suggested above by a frnd)

Subproject : SERVICE_TICKET
Object : SRV_TICKET_ZSVT
click on the execute button .you will reach the screen :
The screen shows the 15 steps to Run the lsmw
Step 2) select the first step ( Maintain object attributes) and click the execute button.After clicking on the execute button you will reach at. the screen
Here you have to specify ( Message type and basic type)
click on the BACK button
Step 3) select the 2nd step ( Maintain source structures) and click the execute button
Here you have to specify the source structures.
Step 4) Select the 3rd step ( Maintain source fields) and click on the execute button :
Here you have to specify the fields present in the source structure
Step 5) select the 4th step ( Maintain structure relationship ) and click on the execute button :
Here you have to specify relationship between source and target structures
Step 6) select the 5th step ( Maintain field mapping ) and click on the exécute button :
Here you have to map the fields between source and target structure. Also you have to apply conversion rules here if any
STEP 7) select the 6th step and click on the exécute button
Here you can define any fixed value or user define routines

Then assign the files to different structures.

Here you will see data is read.
Step 11) select the 10th step ( Display read data) and click on the exécute button :
Here you can see your test data present in test files assign to source sturcture
Step 12 ) select the 11th step ( Convert data) and click on the exécute button :
After clicking on the exécute button you will reach to the screen
Click on the exécute button as shown on the : After click on the exécute button you will reach to the next screen
Data is converted
Step 12th ( Display converted data is same as Display read data )
Step 13 ) select the 13th step ( Start idoc generation) and click on the exécute
button :
At this step Idoc is generated using converted data
Step 14) select the 14th step ( Start idoc processing ) and click on the exécute button :
After clicking on the exécute button you will reach to the screen :
And then click on the exécute button : After clicking on the exécute button you will reach to the final processive screen
If data is processed correctly you will see ( 53 Status message with green sign

Migration Assistant doesn't use Internet. If you want to use Migration Assistant via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, Migration Assistant uses the router to migrate data to the other Mac that has to be connected to the same router

I want to migrate from using 2 computers (a mac mini and a macbook pro) to only the macbook

I currently use both a MacMini at home and a MacBook Pro while I'm on the road.
My email is sync'd via Google Mail, but I have photo's and documents (for my projects) that are not sync'd between the two computers.
I use Time Machine with difference external drives to backup each computer.
I would like to migrate to using only the MacBook but I need to make sure that both machines are sync'd and my photo's and documents are the same on both.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
The Mac Mini is running OSX 10.7.5 and the Mac Book is runing OSX 10.8.3

You could try using sync/backup software that could do that automatically. You have several from which to choose that might work best:

Migrating owb using import/export

Hi All,
Please could anyone throw some light on how to Migrate owb using import/export.
we are presently having owb installed on 32 bit database with RHEL 4 os. we planning to migrate to 64 bit database with 0el5 os.
we have planned to do export/import. my question in this is could we use export/import for migrating owb schemas with owb installed in the new server.

Hi Prajwal,
I do not recommend exporting and importing the owb repository schema, it will not work properly.
First, create a new repository on the new db. Then export your projects (make sure you select include all dependencies) using owb metadata export and evetnually import it into the new database.
Note that you wil loose all deployment status information.
If you also have target schemas in your db, then unregister them first before migrating the data to the new db. In the new db you have to register them at the new repository. Finally you have to redeploy all mappings (using replace) in order to make them work again.
