Migrate from ISA 2006 SP1 Enterprise Edition to TMG

Hi,
I want to migrate the ISA 2006 SP1 Enterprise Edition to TMG but some of the posts are saying that it is not supported you can not do that? Is there some one who can help me regarding this that is it possible to migrate. I saw technet which only mensions
the standard edition support and there is nothing about ISA 2006 enterprise edition even in isaserver.org i read that migration from ISA Enterprise edition is not supported. My ISA server is a standalone server.

Hi All,
Thank you for your replies, so following is what i have done
I have ISA 2006 SP2 Enterprise Edition Standalone server but still you will see Array and Enterprise
1. Export ISA configuration from top of the console do not export it from Enterprise neither from Array you have to export it from the top one.
2. download and install EESingleServerConversionPack.exe, you can install it on your own machine then navigate to the directory where you have installed EESingleServerConversionPack.exe and run the command EESingleServerConversionPack.exe /s <path of
the sourcefile> /t <path of the targetfile> Note: If you have named ISA configuration file with space in the command do not include space.
3. Install TMG export certificates from ISA server and import them in to TMG Server
4. In my scenario ISA was acting as a back end firewall but the template was selected as Edge firewall so i have to correct this template in TMG that is why before importing configuration run the getting started wizard for the network and select the back
end firewall template once finished do not proceed further for more 2 optins click close
5. Import ISA configuration in to TMG
6. in my case ISA was having a network which was bound to DMZ NIC but once  you import you will also find the same named network in TMG which was in ISA. but it will not bind with any network card.
7. in my case i have to use the same network range which i was using in ISA so once you import the ISA configuration in TMG you will get the error that IP already exists in TMG and rule can not be imported that is why first i had to use different network
range in parameter network and import was successfull
8. remove IPs from the network of TMG which was imported or came from ISA
9. Give the same network range to the perameter network and same IP ISA IP to DMZ NIC but do not connect that NIC to DMZ switch connect it with your enterprise otherwise you will not be able to proceed and why enterprise network because you will change the
network on web litseners and other rules from ISA network to TMG (Perameter network)
10. change all web litseners and proxy or other rules which contains ISA network and replace it with parameter network.
11. Delete the network from TMG which was imported or came from ISA if you will get error that means it is still being used in some rules
12. compare each and every thing between ISA and TMG
13. Shutdown ISA server and plug in the TMG DMZ NIC in to the DMZ switch test the rules from outside and inside.
it worked for me like a charm.

  • Can you replicate databases from SQL Server 2014 Enterprise Edition to SQL Server 2014 Standard edition?

    Hello,
Can you replicate databases from SQL Server 2014 Enterprise Edition to SQL Server 2014 Standard edition?
    Thanks.

Yes, you can replicate from Enterprise edition to Standard edition.  The only caveat is Peer-to-Peer Replication requires all nodes to be Enterprise Edition.

  • Migration from Compensation Mgmt to Enterprise Compensation

    Hi all,
have you done migration from the compensation to enterprise compensation ?
In the help document , it states "for more info, see also the related section in the release note of Enterprise Compensation Mgmt ".
Could anyone point me to that place ?  I can't find it.
    Thanks so much.

What version are you on? ECM was introduces in 47 ext2 & this is the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/2d/193bb5928881479cad1557aa5bc6b8/content.htm">Release Note.</a> for it. As far as I know, the config for ECM has to be done from scratch, don't know if you can migrate from CM to ECM.. may be the Budgeting part.. but the Admin part like the review, plans, items etc have to be redone.. three new infotypes have been introduced.. but I believe CM & ECM can co-exist..

  • Does JMQ 3.5 SP1 Enterprise Edition use Java NIO anywhere?

    Hi,
I was wondering, does anyone know whether JMQ 3.5 SP1 Enterprise Edition uses Java NIO anywhere?
    Cheers, Andrew

    Yes ...
java.nio is not used on the client (because it needs to support older
jdk's), however we do use nio on the broker.
    java.nio is used:
    - in the "channels" support in the shared thread pool to allow
    non-blocking reads
    - we use the various Buffer classes for reading, writing and
    persisting some of our data

    Hello,
Please note that we have 2 Enterprise Editions now:
    (1) Enterprise Edition with Server + Client Access License (CAL) and (2) the Enterprise Edition licensed by core. “Enterprise Edition with Server + Client Access License (CAL) based licensing (not available

  • Migration from SCVMM 2012 SP1 to R2 - New Hardware

We want to migrate our existing SCVMM 2012 SP1 to new hardware and then bump it to SCVMM 2012 R2. Our database is on a separate SQL 2008 R2 server. This is what we envision doing to get there:
Uninstall SCVMM 2012 SP1 on existing server and retaining the database
Backup and restore the SCVMM database to a new SQL 2012 server
Install SCVMM 2012 R2 on new hardware and connect to existing database on SQL 2012 server
Does this sound doable? Will we lose anything in the move? Maybe our existing libraries?

Using your steps outlined above may NOT be supported.

    Upgrading on a remote computer
Upgrading from VMM in System Center 2012 SP1 on one computer to VMM in System Center 2012 R2 on a different computer is not supported when data is retained from the original installation, and the following configurations apply:
The original installation uses Windows DPAPI. This is the default setting if you did not configure distributed key management during setup.
The VMM management server is configured to use any of the following encrypted values or settings:
    Application settings (encrypted value)
    Service setting (encrypted value)
    SQL Server deployment (product key)
    Web deploy package (encryption password)
"Personally" and this is a pain, I would:
Uninstall VMM SP1 and retain the DB.
Re-install the exisiting hardware with Server 2012
Re-install VMM SP1 and reconnect to existing DB
    Upgrade to VMM 2012 R2
    Uninstall and retain the DB
Restore the DB on new SQL 2012 server
Reinstall VMM 2012 R2 on new Server and reconnect to existing DB
Note that you will probably get access denied messages once running on the new VMM server due to the SID change.  You will need to re-associate hosts and libraries.
I'm still not saying this is a supported method, but it's likely it's more supported as it's essentially following DR principals.

  • Can I migrate from sql azure business database edition (old) to sql azure standard database edition (new in preview)?

I have an export .bacpac file from a sql azure business database edition and I want import that file to sql azure standard database edition.
I have tried through Azure but I think that is not supported yet.
I have also tried through Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 2012 but Wizard only shows me old editions "web" and "business" for destination database and it is incompatible...
    Thanks.

    I've done this today.
You'll need to restore your database onto Azure as a Business/Web addition. Either use your existing or New > SQL Database > Import.
Then you need to sign up to the SQL Preview https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/preview/.
Once you've done that, in the Azure portal under DB > Scale, you'll have Web, Business, Basic, Standard and Premium to choose from.
Obviously this is still in preview mode.

  • Accessing v 7 dbase from sql server 2005 enterprise edition

Hi, i would appreciate any help with this issue i have come across when trying to access a version 7 dbase from within sql server 2005.
The error message is telling me that "This version of SQL server man studio can only be used to connect to SQL Server 2000 and SQL servers 2005"
I am new with SQL server so ill explain how im accessing it. I am connecting a server with sql 2005 on it via net support then through this trying to access another server with v 7 on it.
Thanks for the help in advance.

I see little purpose in resurrecting or "cleaning out" these threads.  I cannot see that asking the OP if the problem still persists after 6 years has any useful purpose - and someone follows along shortly afterwards (since the thread has now risen
to the front of the forum) with a post that he then marks as an answer.  It looks like there are over 900 threads in this forum alone that are unanswered - and I'll guess that this forum has significantly less volume than some of the others (9100 in tsql).
If MS wants to apply manpower to that, so be it.  But immediately following a "is this still a problem" post with  a suggestion/mark as answer does not seem to do much beyond generate volume.  At a minimum it is inappropriate for someone
to propose one's own post as an answer regardless of their official forum position.
And if we follow this cleanup logic, what is accomplished if the OP never responds?  Odds are that there will be none, so why bother? Alternatively, just actually mark the thread as answered with some sort of "cleanup, no response from OP" post.  The
    end result is the same.
Well, no one cared enough to answer his question 5 years ago. I want to change that. My time machine is broken right now, but I can still check to see if people still care about their issues. Because I care. Even if it's old. We should all care.
I understand that not everyone sees the value of asking about a 5-year old question. But what exactly does it hurt? How does showing I care about the person become a problem? We made you read it? Is that the problem?

  • Migrate ISA 2006 to TMG (export/import problems)

    Hi guys.
We have exported configuration on ISA side.
    ISA VERSION IS:
    ISA 2006 ENTERPRISE EDITION
    Version: 5.0.5720.100
Then We have tried to import this configuration on TMG SIDE.
    TMG VERSION IS:
    TMG 2010 ENTERPRISE
    Forefront Threat Management Gateway
    Microsoft Corporation
    Version: 7.0.7734.100
Import not working we got error:
    ERROR: 0xc004048b
The configuration could not be upgraded. Upgrading an ISA Server Enterprise configuration
is only supported on a Forefront TMG Enterprise Management Server.
Now I am a little bit confused/amused about error message that upgradin ISA SERVER EE configuration is only supported on TMG EE. But we have enterprise version?!
Ok we did some googlin and we found also this link:
    http://tmgblog.richardhicks.com/2010/03/20/migrating-from-isa-to-tmg/
where guy is saying after you export conf file from ISA, you must manually convert it for TMG to recognize it.
Soo we went downloading:  EE Single Server Conversion Tool for Forefront TMG
    and then ran: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Forefront TMG Tools\EESingleServerConversion\EESingleServerConversion.exe like this: EESingleServerConversion.exe /s "C:\temp\exported.xml" /t "C:\temp\output-for-import.xml"
but we recieve an error: Error: This tool supports files exported from the root node only.
We were even more confused/amused because we dont understand what error message means?
We have copied xml to C:\
we have copied xml to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Forefront TMG Tools\EESingleServerConversion\,
but we recieve still the same error: "This tool supports files exported from the root node only."
    Please help, with best regards,
    bostjanc

    What does that means
"Please make sure that you click the root node Microsoft
Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006 before you click Export (Buck Up) in the ISA Server Management
    console"
please help i don't understand the term "root"

  • ISA 2006 with IPSEC and NAT - Publishing Outlook Anywhere - TCP Checksum Dropped 0xc0040031 problem

    Hi
I am looking to publish Outlook Anywhere, with IPSEC configured as per (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=23708) to lock down Outlook Anywhere to
    machines with internal certificates only.
I have the following infrastructure setup:
    ISA 2006 SP1 - Server 2003 R2 / SP2
-Allows UDP 4500/500 and TCP 443
    -Hosted on VMWare ESXi 5
    Test laptop - Windows 7
External Firewall static NAT's from a public IP to ISA server and allows the following:
    UDP 4500/500
    Protocol 50/51
IPSEC policy configured on the ISA server:
-IP Filter List = DMZ IP of ISA server, source port any, destination port 443
-Filter Action = Negotiate Security, Integrity Only
-Authentication Methods = Certifciate Authority, internal enterprise CA selected
IPSEC policy configured on the Windows 7 Test Laptop:
-IP Filter List = External (public) IP of ISA server, source port any, destination port 443
-Filter Action = Negotiate Security, Integrity Only
-Authentication Methods = Certifciate Authority, internal enterprise CA selected
    So far the following works:
I have a port listener running on the ISA server to mimic Exchange (just to keep things simple to begin with).
If I unassign the IPSEC policies, I can telnet from an external network on the test laptop successfully to the external IP of the ISA server.
If I assign the IPSEC policies, I cannot telnet from an external network on the test laptop to the external IP of the ISA server.  I note the following:
-HTTPS is denied with no rule (an allow rule is present)
    -Result Code = 0xc0040031 FWX_E_BAD_TCP_CHECKSUM_DROPPED
-The ISA log shows IKE Client and IPSEC NAT-T client traffic as successful.
-The event log shows main mode and quick mode as successful.
-The IPSEC monitor shows SA's for quick mode and main mode.
If I google the error code I gather it relates to the TCP checksum being calculated by the ISA server disagreeing with the actual checksum received.  I guess this is part of AH.  I have tried the following:
-Add the AssumeUDPEncapsulationContextOnSendRule = 2 on the ISA server under services\IPSEC and reboot.
-Add the AssumeUDPEncapsulationContextOnSendRule = 2 on the Windows 7 Laptop under services\PolicyAgent and reboot.
-Disable the following in the ISA server registry and reboot:
    RSS
    SecurityFilters
    TCPA
    TCPChimney
-Disable Chimney Offload via Netsh command
-Disable all Offload options on VMXNET 3 driver advanced settings and rebooting
-Switching to an E1000 NIC and disabling all offload options and rebooting
-Upgrading E1000 drivers from base version (2002 driver) to intels later version (2008), rebooting and disabling all offload options.
-Run a wireshark trace - cannot see anything useful
-Checked oackley log  - cannot see anything useful
I still cannot get the 443 traffic to successfully connect without the FWX_E_BAD_TCP_CHECKSUM_DROPPED error and have run out of google articles.
I would really appreciate if anyone has any suggestions?
    Many Thanks
    Steven

  • Manually Migrating from Oracle 10g to 11g

Hello, I'm currently a student in an Oracle DBA class. I'm totally new to the Oracle world.
One of our final assignments concerns upgrading Oracle instances without the use of DBUA.
I've currently got Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 and am trying to upgrade to 11.1.0.7.0
This is all inside of VirtualBox, running Windows Server 2008. I've been using 10g with absolutely no issues for the duration of this class.
I successfully installed 11g, choosing to install the software only and not use dbua.
I changed my environment variables to point towards the 10g installation; ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID, PATH, and LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
Then logged into 10g's SQLPlus and ran utlu111i.sql, which ran successfully. I issued a shutdown immediate and exited SQLPlus.
Changed my environment variables to point towards the 11g home and set ORACLE_SID as the 10g database name. I was able to log into 11g's SQL plus, was told I was connected to an idle instance, which I expected. I issued a startup upgrade command, and then attempted to run catupgrd.sql, but got an error stating that I had to run the script from 11g.
If I don't set the environment variables then when I try to log into 11g's sqlplus, I get an ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error... I've tried reinstalling 11g from scratch, but to no avail. My instructor and I have been emailing back and forth frequently over the past few days but we have not been able to reach a solution, so I thought I would see if I could pick your brains.
Here's all of the terminal output from the process:

    Hi,
Disconnected from Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - Pr
    oduction
With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining options
Your instance is started from the 10g ORACLE_HOME. You mentioned you started it from the 11g ORACLE_HOME but it's not the case.
    Here is an example with a 10gR2 database started from a 11gR2 ORACLE_HOME :
    SQL> startup upgrade pfile =/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/dbs/initP102.ora
ORA-32006: BACKGROUND_DUMP_DEST initialization parameter has been deprecated
ORA-32006: USER_DUMP_DEST initialization parameter has been deprecated
    ORACLE instance started.

With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing optionsNotice the Disconnected from Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 part.
In your case it was Disconnected from Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0
To solve the issue follow the official documentation, you have specific actions with oradim etc. to do (it's always a bit more complicated than with Unix/Linux but it's documented) :

  • SQL 2005 x64 poor performance after migration from SQL 2005 x86

Recently We've migrated SQL 2005 x86 SP1 Enterprise running on Windows 2003 Enterprise to new hardware where is running Windows 2008 SP2 and SQL 2005 x64 SP4 with CU3.
In the work day, there are sometime SQL excpetions like this below. On other hand i can also tell that we already found some queries which has some inner joins and where clauses on nvarchar fileds, because of the nature of application. Such a query
is running for about 11 seconds on old SQL server, and about 6 minutes on new SQL server. My main question if is this possible just with a change to new architecture of SQL and more last patches and updates for SQL 2005. Is there any way how to get
this queries running faster, without rewritng them with new ones? Is this also possible this could be also cause for SQL exceptions, which we are facing on SQL server?
About new hardware, for now we can't find it something wrong. There is basic configuration:
    Cisco UCS  C220 M3S (1U server)
    32GB RAM
Intel(R)Xeon® CPU [email protected], 6 core
Disk system: 4xSAS 300GB in RAID5 (OS and DATA) and 2xSATA 1TB in RAID1 (SQL backup)
RAID controller: LSI MegaRAID SAS 9271-8i (with latest driver and firmware)
Part of log of dump file:
    2014-05-09 08:30:07.08 spid86      Error: 17311, Severity: 16, State: 1.
2014-05-09 08:30:07.08 spid86      SQL Server is terminating because of fatal exception c0000264. This error may be caused by an unhandled Win32 or C++ exception, or by an access violation encountered during exception handling.
Check the SQL error log for any related stack dumps or messages. This exception forces SQL Server to shutdown. To recover from this error, restart the server (unless SQLAgent is configured to auto restart).

    >Is there any way how to get this queries running faster, without rewriting them with new ones?
You need to perform basic performance tuning steps in the new environment.
    Software optimization:
    http://www.sqlusa.com/articles/query-optimization/
    Disk optimization:
    http://www.sqlusa.com/bestpractices/configureharddisk/
    Memory optimization:
    http://www.sqlusa.com/bestpractices/memory-configuration/
REBUILD INDEXES, eliminate missing indexes & UPDATE STATISTICS.
If there is still a problem, look in Activity Monitor for expensive queries. Optimize them. As a general rule, you don't want to have expensive queries in RDBMS.

  • Web Proxy sessions stop working after some time (ISA 2006)

    Hi guys,
we have been using ISA 2006 with Web Publishing Rule to provide access for mobile phone to corporate Exchange via ActiveSync for years. The issue occurred roughly one month ago.
After some period of time (usually it happens once or twice daily) ISA stops to accept connections from the mobile phones. There are no errors on client devices (they don't get new mails). In Sessions tab I see that only SecureNAT sessions from phones remain,
but no Web Proxy sessions any more. There are no errors in Event Viewer and I didn't find anything strange in diagnostic logs.
I've created one more Web Publishing Rule with the same Web listener as for ActiveSync rule for OWA. The intersting thing that ISA still allows access to OWA when issue occurs. Looks like the problem with Web Proxy filter.
After OS restart ISA starts working normally.
I have ISA 2006, sp1, version 5.0.5723.514 installed on VMWare VM with Windows 2003 SE sp2.
    Do you have any ideas?

    Hi,
Does this issue still exist? If so, you could try to collect logs from devices to find more information.

  • Sys_context while migrating from DB 9i to 10g

    Hi friends,
We have been migrating our database from 9i to 10g. In 9i, the sql command
    select nvl(sys_context('user_env','osuser'),'?') from dual
return the name of the user with which you have logged in. But after migrating DB to oracle 10g, this query returns null value.
What may be the reason ? What may be the possible solution ?

    Here is an example:
    SQL> select nvl(sys_context('user_env','osuser'),'?') from dual ;
