Migrating an Azure Configuration to another Azure Account

Is there an easy method available for migrating an Azure Configuration from one Account to another Azure Account?

Hi,
Thanks for your post.
Could you please describe your requirement more detail?
Which service did you want to migrate, virtual machines?

  • Move WIndows Azure Visual Studio Premium Subscription to another Azure account

Our organization have Azure account with WIndows Azure Visual Studio Premium Subscription. Can we move this subsctiontion to another Azure account?

This is how we migrating from old subscription to a new one, this usually occurring when companies using MSDN account or Bizpark account want to migrate to their new EA/OPEN license accounts.
    Important:
before you decide to migrate data from one Azure Subscription/Microsoft Account to another, you should check the pre-requisites beforehand (see at the end of this article).
    To create a support ticket
To migrate data or move subscriptions between different Microsoft Accounts, follow these steps:
    Go to
    Azure support site
    Click on “Get Support”
This will cause you to have to authenticate to the Azure portal
Once loaded, you’ll get a modal window like this one.  Select “Billing” for support type:
    5. On the next page you have a number of options, if you want to migrate a subscription or data, go with the option “Subscription transfer and Migrations”
    6. In the Category, you can be more specific with your request
    7. On the final page, enter contact information
Once you submit the ticket, a representative from the Azure Support team will be in touch via Email or Phone to confirm the details with you.
Microsoft Azure Data Migration/Data Transfer Pre-requisites
Ensure you review each point before submitting a service ticket:
The source as well as destination subscription should be active,
Microsoft do not support selective service transfer. i.e. transfer selected hosted service, storage service from one subscription to another. It may become available in future but today,
    we transfer all or nothing.
Destination subscription must be completely empty. If there is any data on the destination, we will be performing a force migration which will transfer the data.
Source subscription and destination subscription must have the same service admin (at least till the migration completes).
List of services that can be migrated by us:
    Virtual Machines
    Cloud Services
    CDN
    Web sites
    Media Services
    Service Bus
    Storage
    Multi Factor Authentication
    Traffic Manager
    Mobile Services
    Virtual Network
    Access Control Service (ACS)
Caching – we need to work with Engineering Team for migrating caching service
Reserved IP Address and the Reserved IPs under the list
    Self- serve Migration:
    VSO
    SQL DB
    MFA
These are the services that cannot be moved:
    Active Directory (AAD)
    BizTalk Services
    HD Insight
    Backup
    Hyper-V Recovery Manager
    Azure Store
    Import / Export
    Scheduler
    Management Services
    SQL Reporting
Note: Microsoft won’t be able to perform data migration, if source as well as destination has  mobile services deployed. You would need to take the backup of mobile services
from either Source or Destination delete it and once the data migration is completed, you can redeploy the mobile services on destination.
Additionally  follow these steps to change the Service Administrator if it’s not same:
    Login in to
    https://account.windowsazure.com.
    Click ‘Subscriptions.’
    Select the subscription
    Click “Edit subscription details.”
Note: the Service Administrator needs to be the same for both target and source subscriptions.

    Hi all,
we have an Azure pass and have made some progress with a web application . i am a co admin in both. is there anyway to easly migrate from azure pass to the paid account. when i login using my email i can configurations made from both .

    Hi,
Prior to the expiration date you will have the opportunity to migrate your data to a paid Microsoft Azure subscription. All of your data will be erased when your pass expires. If you choose to not migrate your Microsoft Azure account to a paid account, please
be sure to back up your data.

  • Cannot Register MA Account to Azure Account

I am having difficulties trying to perform step 1 in registering MA Account to Azure Account. The 2 pieces of info on the MA portal to do this requires account and subscription id. I am using a personal Azure Subscription so for this first step I go to my
Azure Portal and pull the subscription id and account name from the storage dashboard. I enter these 2 values, and generate a cert, then upload that cert to Azure Management and all is well. BUT, when I go to the MA portal under protection/servers/cloud, my
entry is listed, but it has a status of Failed. Details show:
Array ( [Code] => ResourceNotFound [Message] => Network configuration does not exist. )
I have tried varying values for the account name, including the email address associated with the MA preview and the Azure Portal account name and have had no success.
I guess the real question is where exactly on the Azure Portal do I get the account name from?
Also, I am at a loss as far as the ordering of tasks listed in the MA Help guide and what is discussed in http://blogs.technet.com/b/srinathv/archive/2014/09/18/step-by-step-guide-on-installing-microsoft-migration-accelerator.aspx.
The MA guides first step (under Installation and Configuration) and the workflow diagram both list the register the MA with Azure task as the first task, but the link above lists this as the last task. I am having issues registering the MA with
Azure and just want to make sure this truly is the very first step.
    Any ideas welcome...

    Hi Gopi,
ok that's fine. I am now at tring to run the CS UI. Using these:
    Access CS User Interface
You can access CS user interface through web browser.
To access CS user interface, do the following:
    Step 1: Launch web browser.
Step 2: Provide IP Address and Port number of CS in the format Http://< IP>:<port> or Https://<IP>:<port>.
Step 3: Provide user credentials as Admin/password.
Step 4: Change password through Settings > User Management > Manage Users > Edit Account, if you are logging in for the very first time.
I cannot figure out what the login is? Is there a way to get this info? I thought I left it as is (the default installer value for the user name) and only changed the PW.
    thanks again

  • Importing Azure Account into WebMatrix

    Hi there
I have created an Azure Account and I have created a web site in WebMatrix. However when I try to import my account to Microsoft Azure in WebMatrix I get the error: "Error Importing Azure Management Credentials - Cannot access a closed stream".
    I am running a Windows 7 SP1 Operating System.
I have tried all day to solve the problem so any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Apologies, at the moment, there is no automatic migration we can do. You can copy paste all your modules across the browser tabs and it should work, but datasets and trained models will have to be reuploaded/recreated.
    Sorry for the inconvenience

  • Change profile country on Azure account

I moved to Ireland and successfully updated country info on Live ID.
But change of country in Azure profile is not possible. I can't even add new credit card info in my Pay-as-you-go plan because country info is locked to my "old" country.
That fact leaves me no other choice than to move from Azure to other cloud service! How that lousy service is even possible on Azure? I want to pay them, and there's no even email address, phone number, nothing!
    How to change my country!?!?

    hi hhrvoje,
I wondered know did you resolve this issue? If you don't create the new LiveID or new subscription, I think you need contact to Azure Billing support team as Shirisha's first post. It is  the best choice for your situation currently.
Any results about this issue, please let us know.

I need to create yet another Live ID, for my current country. So no, my issue can't be resolved because of some strange rule which states that Azure account country can't be changed - even though LiveID country can be changed!
I'll keep my bizspark accounts, since there are free resources, but for personal things and projects, i'm moving away from Azure, life is too short to deal with this nonsense.

In Mail Preferences/Accounts/each GMail account, set up the SMTP Outgoing Server for each account separately, going into SMTP name/edit/Advanced and specify the Username of each account.  The Outgoing servers must be two different servers, authenticated by the Username and Password of each.
Otherwise, the GMail SMTP server will change the from address to that of the account where the SMTP server was setup.

  • I am unable to access my mail on my IMac after adding another email account. Somehow I manage to knock myself out of the Telus acct that I had recently migrated to my IMac. Any idea of how I can reconnect to my Telus acct?

    Hi
I am having trouble accessing my IMac mail after I added another mail account to my list of email accts. I had migrated my outlook acct. from my PC to my IMac and when I went back to use my password it wouldn't let me in. Any ideas of what I should do?

Adding another account would not affect one that you already had. Either the password is wrong, or the server is coincidentally rejecting your credentials for some reason, or you did something different.

  • Use MS Account or Organization Account to create Azure Account - Best Practice?

Hi, I see that it is now possible to create Azure accounts as an org: http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/sign-up-organization/. Previously, you needed a MS Account. I also note that http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/hh531793.aspx
says “Use organizational accounts for all administrative roles”. Note the word "all" which I guess includes the main admin account itself. Is this now considered MS's best practice for organizations? I have to admit that at the moment, I can't see
what difference it really makes in practice. Any thoughts?
    TIA.

  • Manage subscription, billing and Co-Administrator for Azure Account

    Hi All,
I am new to Azure, I have Windows Azure account.
My requirement is like I will create multiple subscriptions under my account for individual clients, I will add clients as Co-Administrators for each Subscription, I have my payment information for paying to Azure and for subscriptions also
I will pay from my account. I want to make clients able to see their billing information, so my questions about this scenario are:
    1. Does Co-Administrator needs password of Azure Account to logging in to https://manage.windowsazure.com or https://account.windowsazure.com/Subscriptions?
    2. Can each Co-Administrator check his/her subscription from https://account.windowsazure.com/Subscriptions and is able to see his/her billing information?
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks, Dilip

    Hi Dilip,
    Thanks for posting here.
    Appreciate your interest on Azure.
It is not possible to buy multiple subscriptions for the single account meaning single LIVE ID .  You may buy multiple subscriptions with same account holder but you need to have different Live ID for every subscription.
You can add users as co-administrators for a subscription using their Microsoft account or organizational account. To do this, you must be a co-administrator or the Service Administrator for the subscription yourself, and you should be designated as a global
administrator in the directory for the subscription. Adding co-administrators using organizational accounts is recommended
See Add a co-administrator to an Azure subscription for more details.
For both of your questions above : Co-administrator will not have access to view  Account information by co-admin's credentials. The only options is to view the account information is by using account owners credentials.
For further details, you may contact Billing team via
http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/options/ , select get support and select the support type as billing.
    Hope this helps.

  • Azure account maximum capacity varies.

I see that Azure initially provided 100TB per account. After 8 June 2012 they have increased the account capacity to 200TB for accounts created after the specified
    date. <o:p></o:p>
Also the capacity storage schema in the msdn website indicates that only capacity used by the account is stored using statistics.
<o:p>There is API to query for used account capacity.</o:p>
If as a user I create azure accounts over the years, how do I query for the total capacity of my accounts if I hold multiple accounts whose total
capacity may be different depending on when I created it. I need this info to determine how much capacity is left in each of the accounts I hold.
So how do I query the maximum capacity of my accounts from Azure ?
Is there an API for query the maximum capacity of an Azure account ?

    Hi,
Base on my experience, it may have not the method directly get the how much capacity is left in the accounts. But we could use the compromised approach. We could get the blob storage and table storage usage capacity.
    Please see this blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/windowsazurestorage/archive/2011/08/03/windows-azure-storage-metrics-using-metrics-to-track-storage-usage.aspx?Redirected=true
) and this docs (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/azure/hh343258.aspx). And I suggest you could refer to Gaurav Mantri's reply (http://stackoverflow.com/a/17058225
) and this powershell code sample (http://www.amido.co.uk/richard-slater/windows-azure-storage-capacity-metrics-with-powershell/ &

    Hope it helps.

My main user account in my desktop is becoming buggy after to many migrations from different computers and long time usage. I would like to migrate from one user to another user within the same computer to see if this improves my current problems.

Move small groups of files to the /Users/Shared/ folder or another location and see if the problems disappear. Moving everything to a new user account will in all probability transfer the problems.
