Migrating existing cloud users into teams?

I have a company with a bunch of employees already maintaining individual cloud accounts (which is annoying from a billing and license management standpoint).
I just discovered that you introduced cloud for teams - is it possible to get you to migrate all our existing individual accounts into our now-existing team?
We still have a 1 year binding period on all of the individual cloud accounts, so we can't just create new ones.

  • Is there a way other than redeployment to migrate existing Cloud Services from one data center to another?

We have a need to correct affinity of Cloud Service, Azure DB, Storage and Mobile Services such that they are on a singl datacenter and do not get impacted by network latency when these components communicate with each other. Also to distribute various environments
across different data centers we need to realign some environments to mitigate all environments getting impacted if there is outage.
Existing Cloud Services and related Service Bus queues and topics need to be moved to a different datacenter. Is there a way to do this without having to redeploy cloud services (web and worker roles) or recreate the service bus entities (queues and topics)?
Also, the existing Cloud Service URL need to be retained without with user authentication won't be possible and hence when completed, the new cloud service should have the same URL.
Please provide best available options for achieving this or ask question if more information is needed.

    Hi sumeetd,
As far as I know, currently there is no directly way to move services from one data center to another unless redeployment. You could submit a feature suggestion via this page (http://feedback.azure.com/forums/34192--general-feedback

But I was facing problem with password hashes.
I have created user marlis and set password like marlis_2013:
    - in oracle db it's hash is 2CDAD21E6A769A11
    - in weblogic as it's hash is {SHA-1}a7OyKYOb/mUMsda8U9cw4ofgGlo=

  • Transition existing cloud license into new cloud team account

I have registered a Invdividual Cloud plan a few months back and now I registered a new Team Cloud plan. Is it possible to transition my Individual plan into my team plan so I can manage both of them with the team admin? Both of the accounts have the "Complete" subscription (all apps).
Thanks in advance for any input.
    Tom

That sounds great. I would have no problem cancelling the individual licence and buying a new one in the Team account.
This topic is actually covered at http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cancel-membership-subscription.html (Cancel and reenroll to Creative Cloud for teams).

  • Has anyone migrated existing file libraries into Final Cut Server?

My company currently uses Virage to archive thousands of video clips. Currently we only archive proxies and keep a corresponding tape on the shelf -- it's a big library. We want to move away from tape and keep all the clips on a centralized server but we need to be able to move all the existing files over to FCS via an automated process. The clips we keep in Virage has 5 or 6 fields that we would need to migrate over and the thumbnails are mpg2. Has anyone had any experience migrating huge chunks of data over to Final Cut Server? We ditched our Avids and Unity and purchased FCP. Final Cut Server makes sense. (By the way...for what we paid for Virage, I could have purchased Final Cut Server and a Porsche to drive it to the office.)

My company is implementing FCSrv as a video database. Moral of the story: I did everything from scratch. I took the time to log and digitize all the tapes, creating a file folder structure that corresponds to the tape label. I can say from my experience, you need to organize and have all of your original media ready on the drives that you want the files to live on and THEN upload to FCSrv. I left those drives as Edit In Place devices, created FCSrv assets, and then turned the drives off. The drives only come back on when I want to copy over any of the source files. Also, FCSrv wants to create everything from scratch - its own proxies, thumbnails, and poster frames. Currently I believe the only metadata you could map / migrate over would be fields associated with FCP Log and Transfer media. Another workflow hint I have is to find media that has the same (or most similar) metadata and upload those at the same time (choosing create individual assets). Also, there is a great workflow on the forum for bulk metadata changes that helped me out a lot : http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7522555
Every time I call Apple anymore they try to sell me on purchasing the custom workflow services from an engineer so you could look into that for specific help with your current metadata fields. Otherwise, I'd suggest hiring some interns
    Good luck!

  • How to migrate existing OID user to new OID

    Hi all,
How do i migrate all existing OID username to new OID server?
Do i also need to migrate their password?
Assume i'm using oracle database version 10.2.0.2.0 and how to i know which Oracle Application Server and OID version are certify to Oracle Database version 10.2.0.2.0. Please also let's me know where i can find more detail about this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kevin

    Kevin,
export/import can be done using ldifwrite/bulkload see Backup and Restoration of a Directory (http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28196_01/idmanage.1014/b15991/backup_restore.htm#i1006559)
    or use ldapsearch/ldapadd
It's up to you to export/import the userpassword. If you want to force them to create a new password using the new server don't import the password.
w.r.t. certification you'll need to check the certification matrix found at the bottom of the download section of respective product. e.g. Oracle Application Server 10g R3 (10.1.4) contains OID 10.1.4 here you'll find the link to the certification matrix.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/files/idm_certification_101401.html
or you search for certification and the product version number
Using a pre-existing DB with OID requires to use RepCA to create the metadata repository into this existing DB before you can point the Oracle Installer during installation to use the then existing MetaData Repository.
RepCA has dependencies on the DB version to be used. See Oracle Application Server Metadata Repository Creation Assistant Documentation
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28196_01/getstart.htm

  • Is there any way to migrate existing intranet into SharePoint?

    Hi,
I have currently an intranet sites for hosting data for users to retrieve from. I have a SQL Server and IIS run on the same box. My organisation is planning to use SharePoint soon so I must prepare how to move those intranet sites to SharePoint.
Is there a way to do that?
I have also wanted to develop request forms and use sharepoint workflow to route the approval to the require person when save it. Is there any tool that help me to do that?
    Regards

Yes, you can. But I don't think you can use any tool to migrate your existing application to SharePoint. However you can convert your existing Web Application into a Provider-Hosted SharePoint App. Refer to the following article for more information

  • Taking existing Plumtree user accounts and migrating them to existing group

Does anyone know if it is possible through the Local Portal API or the EDK/IDK to take existing Plumtree user accounts and migrate them to existing groups? Any risks in doing this programmatically? Is it best done through the ui manually to maintain referential and database integrity? Just trying to assess risk here and decide if we should build this kind of tool for our customer which they are requesting. Does the Local Portal API or the EDK/IDK provide capability of "adding" a group affiliation to existing Plumtree users or would this be a bad idea?

A network account is really existing only on the server but if you use "portable homefolders" (Tiger client and server) you could "migrate" the local account to a "server" one by:
Login locally as another user with administrative rights.
Change the name of the old account folder in /Users.
Remove the "old" account locally (woun't remove the "old" folder as you changed the name) only Netinfo data.
Login using the serveraccount login/password thus creating a homefolder on the server.
Logout and back in, enable portable homefolder.
Logout and then in as a local admin and remove the new user folder.
Change the name on the old userfolder to what the new one had.
I'm not a 100% sure Netinfo has the server account UID now (added by logging in and creating the portable account?) but if it does:
"Finding and changing UIDs across the filesystem is a one-liner command:
    sudo find / -user UID -exec chown userName {} \;
(replace UID with the old UID number and userName with the new user name to associate file ownership.)"
(A portable account must have got some "kind" of UID?)
Let the machine "sync" with the server account.
If you want an "on network only" account I don't know what you need to remove locally afterwards.

  • Import already existing directory structure into DFS namespace?

    Hi all,
I'm planning to migrate three file servers to a single DFS namespace and after reading the official docs and numerous blog posts I'm still unsure about the right way to do it.
The "main" server already has a share with a complex directory structure, called \\server1\team, and that share shall become the root of the new DFS namespace, lets call it  \\domain.local\team.
Part of that already existing directory structure is this folder: \\server1\team\admin\communication\archive. The folder "archive" contains thousands of files in numerous folders and shall become a dfs link to another share \\server2\archive. But
before I can create the folder "archive" as a dfs link I have to create the folder "admin" in the dfs hierarchy of course, then below that the folder "communication"
Question: When I try to create a folder "admin" in the dfs namespace, I get the error message "the folder cannot be created in the namespace. The file exists."
Ok, the folder "admin" indeed exists, but how can I "import" this branch of the existing directory hierarchy into the dfs namespace?
Do I have to rename the existing folder "admin" to e.g. "admin2", then create the dfs folder "admin" and move the complete directory structure below "admin2" to "admin"? Or can I simply make the existing folder
    "admin" a dfs folder?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards
    Christoph

    Mandy, thanks for your feedback!
I have to describe my problem more precisely: creating the root of the new DFS namespace is *not* the problem. This worked for me exactly as you expained it. The problem appears when I try to create a folder below that root in the DFS namespace. If that
folder already exists in the share you cannot choose how to handle security settings but you get an error message, and that's it.
This may be helpfull to explain what I want to achieve:
    Old structure:
\\server1\team - folder admin - subfolder "archive" - lots of subfolders and files
Now I want to move all files and folders from "archive" to \\server2\archive and link this share into the new DFS namespace, so that our users don't notice any change when they access that archive folder.
    new structure:
    1. Create DFS namespace root: \\domain.local\team  -> \\server1\team   (works!)
                |
    2. Create folder admin  (problem!)
                |
    3. Create subfolder "archive" -> \\server2\archive (not possible becaues "admin" couldn't be created)
I could perhaps create a DFS namespace with the root \\server1\team\admin\archive and link that to \\server2\archive, but I would like to avoid creating a new namespace for each share which from \\server2 which I mount into some subfolder of \\server1\team...
    Thanks for reading.

  • Is there a way to migrate my iPhoto content into Lightroom 5?

I have been using iPhoto as my photo organising app since I first got my Mac, and I'm reasonably happy with the way it works. I have all my photos organised into 'Events', and it is all very satisfactory.
However I am aware that iPhoto is on it's way out with the upcoming release of Yosemite in the autumn, and so I wondered about changing over to the 3rd Party, (but highly recommended), Adobe Lightroom app.
I've paid my money for the Adobe 'Creative Cloud' subscription package, which includes full versions of both Lightroom 5 and Photoshop, but I've hit a snag when I come to migrate my photos from iPhoto 9.5.1 into Lightroom 5.5.
Does anyone know if there is a way to migrate iPhoto content -organised into Events- into Lightroom please?
I am running iPhoto under OS X 10.9.4.

iPhoto is not on the way out with the release of Yosemite. Apple have stated that it will be updated to run on Yosemite. That means that iPhoto will continue to run for another 18 months at least.  iPhoto will then be migrated into a new App, called Photos, sometime in 2015. This migration will include the seamless adapting of your iPhoto app to the new Library. Even then, iPhoto will still continue to run until you update to a version of the OS that doesn't run it at all. There has been a lot of discussion on the merits or otherwise of migrating to Lightroom. One thing is sure is that there is no rush, and it might be worth waiting to see what the new Photos app is like before making such a big decision.
You've gone from using a consumer level Photo Manager (retail cost $15) to a using two very serious professional level applications (combined retail cost about $800 - if you could still buy Photoshop at retail at all.) Even at subscription rates thats $100+ per year. Are you sure that's what you want to do? That's a heck of a learning curve for a start.
    Anyway to cases:
Lightroom has no ability at all to parse an iPhoto Library. There is no migration path at all. So you'll need to export your Events to folders in the Finder. Then import those to Lightroom.
When you export you're going to have to choose which version to export - the original or the edited versions. Or both - and have duplicates in your Lightroom library. Also, you'll need to consider what to do with metadata that you may have added in iPhoto. Along the way you'll lose the non-destructive editing feature.
    This User Tip
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
has details of the options in the Export dialogue.

  • No new features for no Creative Cloud users? Tell me why?

Adobe, please tell me why I, no Cloud Crative user don't receive new Illustrator CS6 features:
    - Package files
    - Unembed images
    - Links informations
Why Creative Cloud users are better than users who bought box version? it's not fair.

    @Wade
What a bunch of babble and marketing talk for Adobe! You do realize there are other services (far better ones actually) than YouSendIt, don't you? In the YouSendIt category, try WeTransfer.com : super fast uploads and downloads up to 2gb in one RAR or ZIP file at a time.
You have heard about DropBox, SkyDrive, GoogleDrive, etc. too, haven't you? Without going into the pros and cons of any of those services, I can categorically say that each one is better... and cheaper... than an Adobe Cloud sub.
And since you're talking about the world, and complaining at the same time about your upload speeds, that remains the same for the Adobe Cloud or any Internet service for that matter. Adobe Cloud is NOT faster than any of the above services I mentioned.
Also you should know that there are many parts of the world, including HUGE chunks of the US, where broadband Internet still doesn't exist. There are some places that may never see broadband land lines, and those communities are installing LTE instead. LTE has it's advantages... but the main disadvantage is cost. No such thing as a "true Flat rate" with LTE, and you are bound to run up against "volume restrictions" and pay extra for exheeding them. No advantage then for Cloud users: they will pay on top.
I personally use DropBox and SkyDrive syncing projects and files with assorted clients every day... including huge PSD and RAW file libraries. If I have a "one off" project, I use WeTransfer with no problems. If you have a client that refuses to learn the first thing about downloading files from a link, I'm sorry for you. I mean that without sarcasm. I would like to ask though: are they actually then playing with your native files in CS? Really? And they can't even download a linked ZIP? (See my comment below about suspects).
You fail to convince me in the end, that Adobe's Cloud Drive is the best choice at the moment or in the future.
Considering this thread is/was about Perpetual vs. Cloud subs, no one has mentioned the main underlying fact and potential reason for Adobe to push people to Subs: PIRACY.
While very possibly not prevalent in North America... I would venture to say that in the rest of the world, 75% of CS installations are against the EULA, whether multiple machine installs and/or downright pirated. BTW: I have personally ran across the "multiple machine" install countless times at more shops/studios than I care to mention.
I would like to add a "twisted logic" to my personally accepting the new Adobe Subs as the way to go, and especially for new features.
IF (big if!) this is to cut down on piracy and the number of studios/shops driving media design/printing prices into the basement, because they don't actually "pay" for their right to offer their services....  I'm all for it! If this also results in the culling of people that think that, with a Walmart computer and a jacked CS disk image, they are "now in business to offer professional graphic services"... again, I applaud the Cloud initiative.
It surely appears that I'm bitter about the "competition"... well yes I am. Because, not only are the pirates NOT competing fairly, but I (personally) have to deal with problems they make for my clients  and the "trash" files they receive on a daily basis. It is also many of those clients that are perpetually licensed CS and EULA abiding Adobe customers, that are slowly laying off trained professional graphic/media designers as well as print technicians... because they are "too expensive".
And finally to add insult to injury: I also suspect we see a number of these "pirates" and "just beginning professionals" here in these forums. The number of posts I see coming from some people that shouldn't even have CS installed, is... well... disheartening.*
    * Funny, how as graphic designers, we were always wishing for faster, better, cheaper, easier. How little did we realize or fail to foresee, that when the dream came true... it would also be accessible to the "I can too" crowd. Is it nasty of me to say in return, "No. You can't. And I doubt you ever will. It's not the tools, it's the talent. You have none that I can see."
PS. Sorry... sort of worn out and emotional after staying up until 3.00am to "re-design" a thoroughly "#$%^&*!!!" Corel PDF! Fugly has a brand new definition, and "pro-" is followed by "-stitution". I need to shower 3 times after this one!

    Hi Experts,
    Hi Experts,
I want to add fields "company code" "'region" to existing  query report AQZZ/SAPQUERY/FKF1============
(list of vendor address) for this i done as following:
1.In SQ01  go to "EDIT->other user group" and i selected user group as /SAPQUERY/FK
2.I typed F1 in query field and click change button
3.I clicked next screen button and entered into "change query f1: select fields screen".here i clicked "basic list" button and searched company code checkbox and saved it as result company code is appearing in the standard report"AQZZ/SAPQUERY/FKF1============"
but unfortunately there is no region field(LFA1-REGIO) for this i think i should copy the existing  query report  into new query report(Ex:Z_LIST_OF_VEND) which should be 14 characters.please tell me briefly how to do this because this is first time i am using SQ00.
one more issue is when i selected "edit-otheruser group" and choosing /SAPQUERY/FK  i  am getting only infoset "/SAPQUERY/FIKD" but i should need Info set: "/SAPQUERY/FIDD" please tell me how to add the previous one into user group.i think if i got /SAPQUERY/FIDD into usergroup  /SAPQUERY/FK i can add region also into Query report as i mentioned above by going SQ01 ...............................

    Hi Experts ,
I solved issue by changing infoset in SQ02 by means of assigning field to field group and changed the query in SQ00.

  • How to add existing LDAP users to SMS

    Hi,
I have an existing Sun Directory server with users that are synced with Sun ISW.
I have now installed the messaging server and want to add all of my existing users into the messaging server.
What is the best way to do this? Would it be to create some script of all the users and then use commadmin modify?
Seems like there would be an easier way..
    TIA,

    daren-s wrote:

I have now installed the messaging server and want to add all of my existing users into the messaging server.Providing user-level access and accounts on messaging server requires that you have all the necessary objectclass and user directory attributes set correctly.
The easiest way to determine what you need is to use commadmin to create a user afresh and reverse engineer the attributes/objectclasses. The schema reference guide goes through what each objectclass/attribute does:
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-4437
You also need to provision domains so that email can be routed to these users.
What schema are you planning on using (schema 1/1.5/2)?
What is the best way to do this? Would it be to create some script of all the users and then use commadmin modify? That's pretty much what you are going to need to do.
At some juncture you need to configure the user accounts to set the users mailhost: etc. which is going to require scripting/modification of directory attributes. What method you use to update the directory (commadmin/ldapmodify/some perl module etc.) is up to you.
Seems like there would be an easier way..Any 'easier' approach was pretty much counted out when you sync'd the users across rather then provisioning them using Sun tools (delegated administrator/IDM etc.).

  • Migrating existing portable homes to new server

aside from moving the homedir data from the old server to the new, there seem to be at least a few issues with migrating existing portable home accounts to a new server:
    1. some of users' account details, like GeneratedUID, authentication authority, kerberos principals, OriginalNFSHomeDirectory, are different, while others (name, shortname, UID, GID, etc.) remain the same.
    2. home directory (OriginalNFSHomeDirectory, etc.) point to the old server.
    3. there's data on local machines that we don't sync back to the server, so we can't just blow away the existing local accounts and start fresh.
the quickest way to migrate these users to the new server (with all the same shortnames and UIDs, etc.) seems to be to remove the local cached accounts (leaving the home folders) and have them recreate new PHDs on login, syncing things back down to the original home folder. i'm guess this won't involve much syncing, it's all the same data, essentially.
the other way i can see resolving this is to replace the account attributes for each client to match what they should be when pointed to the new server. this would involve scripting the process for reliability and not moving any data or deleting accounts, but it will take more testing on my part.
what do you think? can you think of better ways to accomplish this task?
summary: what's the best way to move existing portable home accounts bound to "Server A" to "Server B," while maintaining data and portable homes pointed to the new server and storage?
    thanks.

that createmobileaccount syntax was wrong. i guess you don't need the -t option and can instead specify the whole path to the user's home. it seems to work well enough, creating a portable home with no default sync settings -- basically manual. for my needs that's fine. the sync settings are managed via mcx anyway.
here's an updated version of the standalone script. i realized just now the script assumes the diradmin usernames and passwords are the same between servers. if that's not the case, you can hard code it or add a couple of variables. since they're just taken in order on stdin, add them in order. i should also add a function to interactively ask for the passwords with stty -echo to avoid having the passes logged in command history or allowing the script to curl the pass from another file on a web server or something. for now, this seems to work for my purposes. edit as you see fit.
    #!/bin/bash
    # nate@tsp, 3/4/10: initial version
    # 3/5/10: added prettier heredoc usage statement, variables, further tested
    # todo: add function to add user to local admin group, as needed. this shouldn't be required in most environments.
    # todo: convert some of these one-liners to functions for better modular use; make it "smarter"
    # todo: convert the whole thing to ruby for practice
    # automates the process of unbinding from the old OD server, binding to the new, removing the existing local user, adding it back, and other bits
    # there are no "smarts" in this script, so use carefully
    # variables
    diradminpass=$1
    account=$2
    password=$3
    oldserver=$4
    newserver=$5
mkdadmin=$6 # not used in this version
    # if no parameters are passed, display usage, exit
    if [ ! -n "$5" ] ; then
    cat<<endofnote
usage: you must include at least 5 arguments (6th isn't used right now)
