Migrating several collections to one domain

I have a TFS 2013.3 instance in a domain that is just for TFS stuff. lets call it TFSDomain
TFSDomain trusts UserDomain(oneway). UserDomain is where all my users log into etc.
I have a Developer domain that has a TFS 2010 SP1 instance in it. Lets call it DevDomain. I want to move the collection from the DevDomain to the TFSDomain.
Currently in the DevDomain users use DevDomain Accounts to login and develop on TFS. They also have UserDomain accounts. If I move the collection from the DevDomain to the TFSDomain I believe that all of the DevDomain user IDs will disappear because it changes
the AD forest also. So the question is can the users just start using their UserDomain Accounts to login to the TFSDomain?
The workspaces from the DevDomain will transfer over but the owners of the workspaces will be incorrect. Can that be changed? Or does everyone need to check in all code before the move?
Would I be better off just allowing the TFSDomain to trust the DevDomain? Is it even possible to allow TFS domain to trust multiple user domains?
Thanks for your replies.

Hi brthomas,
Based on your description, you suppose the DevDomain user IDs will disappear after moving the collection from the DevDomain to the TFSDomain since it changes the AD forest. I'd like to know whether DevDomain and UserDomain are two-way trusted.
If DevDomain and UserDomain consists a AD forest. Then you can make two-way trust between TFSDomain and the AD forest, then you can migrate the team project collection from DevDomain to TFSDomain. Whether you can use UserDomain Accounts to login
to the TFSDomain depends on the permissions of UserDomain Accounts to your TFS 2010 SP1 instance.
As my understanding, you can allowing the TFSDomain to trust the DevDomain since the Objects in that container(AD forest) inherently trust each other and the security services located in that same container. However, you can also allow TFSDomian trust multiple
user domains. To secure the migration succeed, you can also set up a test machine to have a test. Or backup the TFS 2010 sp1 team project collection databases before the migration.

    I ran all of them
    First Command , it works very well and its removed the exchange attribute
    $DomCtrlr = (Dir env:Log*).Value.Replace('\','')
    Get-MailContact -OrganizationalUnit Contacts -DomainController $DomCtrlr | Export-Csv E:\MailContacts.csv
    Get-Contact -OrganizationalUnit Contacts -DomainController $DomCtrlr | Export-Csv E:\UserContacts.csv
    Import-Csv MailContacts.csv | Disable-MailContact -DomainController $DomCtrlr
    Second command
    $DomCtrlr = "DCNAME"
    $MailContacts = Import-Csv E:\MailContacts.csv
    $UserContacts = Import-Csv E:\UserContacts.csv
    after running the above command, I copied below on note pad and saved as .PS1 , as per your advise I make sure that starting with new-mailcontact and below 2 are is same line and Executed the ps1 script.
    Scipt rans but didnt give me any error mesage.
    ForEach ($Contact in $MailContacts) {
        $UserContacts | ? { $_.SamAccountName -eq $Contact.Alias } | % {
            New-MailContact -DomainController $DomCtrlr -LastName $_.LastName -FirstName $_.FirstName -Alias $_.SamAccountName -DisplayName $_.DisplayName -Name $_.Name -ExternalEmailAddress $Contact.ExternalEmailAddress -OrganizationalUnit

    By Running
    $MailContacts : it provided the stored value for users
    $UserContacts: it
    provided the stored value for users
    after runing below in  single notepad as .ps1 , not getting error message , but its not giving any

  • Exchange Migration from One domain to another domain on same forest

    Team,
    we are in the process of migrating exchange infrastructure from one child domain to another child domain within same forest.
    root domain - root.com
    child domains - US.root.com and EMEA.root.com
    EMEA and US Domains setup are different from each other. Like EMEA has different email address policy , Email Flow than US , connectors etc.
    Now we need to migrate all emea users under US Domain. based on the geographical locations, we are building a new dc, mailbox , cas servers on EMEA location , but these servers will be part of US Domain.
    for CAS Servers - we are planing to register respective sites ( site affinity), so all the local requests will be handled by new cas server which is built under US Domain.
    Mailbox Servers - we would be creating new db's and the limits  on new mbx server and going to replicate as its on EMEA Mailbox server.
    can some one please let us know what are the precautions , recommendation, sequence which we need to follow to perform smoother migration. as of now , I can think of below topics.
    Mailbox Migration  -I  Have a script , which
    will take care of mailbox movement once the objects are being moved.
    Contacts Migration - Willard Martin blog helped me to perform migration
    DL Migration - I believe there is no mechanism to migrate DL. only option is to recreate.
    Email address Policy:we would be creating a new address policy and apply to OU's
    DB Consistency check – do we have to perform the health checks on source mailbox server to see , the servers are free from errors /corruption.
    Check outlook configuration - After the migration, we need to check and see , the exchange server/ auto discover works and identify the new exchange servers.
    Internal /External Email flow.-
    Active Sybc , OWA
    Public folder Migration -
    Offline Address Book
    Certificates
    any help or suggestions would be great.

    Lightroom is not saving metadata. I have done several things to save and I still get the tag that states is is not saved. I have also created 2 smart collections. One showing metadata has been changed and one showing metadata is not up to date. No matter what I do it is not showing in LR that it is saved. I spent 2 days with Seth Resnick trying to correct this and we re created my catalog. It was ok, until I imported new images and same problem. Now I have a new problem, when I bring image to PS it saves it but does not bring back to LR. Am I the only one out there who has this problem?

    Would agree with Christoffer and migrate using ADFS but before you can do this you will need to set up a trust between the two domains.  Once this has been accomplished then you can run ADMT.

  • Migrating users from one domain to another(Interforest)

    Scenario- Two Domains A & B in two different forests.
    A - holds exchange server in DMZ and 2 domain controllers in A used by exchange also in DMZ
    B holds all users and computers and 2 Domain controllers used for authentication .
    Now I want to migrate all users and computers  in B domain to A domain using ADMT
    My question here is
    1. Can I use the DCs used by exchange to authenticate if I migrate users and computers from B to A.
    2. If not what is the work around here. I want to build  an action plan on this.

    After the migration users will be in Domain A.  Authentication will happen locally in Domain A using Domain A DCs.   Make sure you have correct DNS server (DNS from domain A) for these workstations.

  • Is there a way to migrate AD users to different domain?

    Hello SharePoint Fam,
    I have a 10,000 user environment and these users are spread across 15 different domains.  Our data/network team are beginning to migrate and consolidate our environment down to one domain.  We did a test and had them migrate a couple of accounts
    to different domain and confirmed that this breaks the user access.  Is there a script or recommendation that I could use to migrate specific users to this domain?  This new domain is still under the same forest
    Thanks n advance,

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to migrate AD users to another domain.
    The tool you need to migrate users between domains is ADMT (Active Directory Migration Tool) which will migrate users, groups, and computers.
    After that, we need to use Move-SPUser to migrate the users to new accounts:
    $user = Get-SPUser -web http://my.website.url -Identity DomainA\UserA
    Move-SPUser -IgnoreSID -Identity $user -NewAlias 'DomainB\UserA'

  • Process to migrate configuration data from one BW development system to other

    Hi SAP Gurus,
    We need to migrate configuration data from one BW system DE1 to DE2.. Both systems are SAP net weaver  7.3.
    DE1 is BW pre-production system and DE2 is BW DEV.
    No transactional  data required.
    Please share a document if available.
    Kindly, let me know the procedure for Remote Client copy or client export/import with steps.
    Also let me know the pre-requisite for these activities.

    Hi,
    Remote Client Copy (SCC9)
    Remote client copy is performed in rare situation. When the client copy is done
    between two different SAP systems, the copy is called remote client copy.
    Before remote client copy is performed, a RFC connection must be set between those
    systems using SM59.
    1. Check RFC connection is working fine between two systems you want to perform
    remote client copy using SM59
    2. create client in the target system you want to copy the client
    3. login to target client using user SAP* and password PASS
    4. execute tcode SCC9 and select the RFC for the source system
    5. select the profile you want to copy like SAP_ALL
    6. select source client number you want to copy
    7. Select source client master data , mostly it is the same client number
    8. Now click on schedule as background job.
    9. Leave the background server field blank.
    10. Click schedule.
    11. Select Immediate from next screen.
    12. Save the screen.
    13. Client copy is scheduled now as a background job and client copy process started.
    14. The progress can be monitored using tcode SCC3
    Client Export/Import
    A client transport consists of two steps:
    First a client export extracts client data from the source client
    to files at the operating system level. Then the data is imported
    from the operating system files into the target client.
    To perform a client export, follow these steps:
    1. Log on to the source client. From the SAP initial screen,
    choose transaction SCC8 (Client Export). Select the data to
    be copied using a profile.
    2. Indicate the target system to which the client will be copied.
    The target system must be defined in TMS as part of the
    transport domain.
    3. Begin the client export. Because copying is a lengthy
    process, use scheduled background processing.
    Do not run any other client copy tool before the
    data export is finished.
    This export process will generate up to three data files at the
    operating system level:
    • RO< number >: this file contains cross-client data
    • RT< number >: this file contains client-specific data
    • RX< number >: this file contains SAPscript texts
    Depending on the type of data selected through the client
    transport profile, the client copy command files added to the
    buffer of the target system are as follows:
    • <S-SID>KO<number>: this file is for cross-client data
    • <S-SID>KT<number>: this file is for client-specific data
    • <S-SID>KX<number>: this file is SAPscript texts
    The client export change requests are not imported when an
    Import all takes place. Therefore, you must import these requests into the target client
    using TMS. Choose one of the transport requests of the client transport in the Transport
    Management System (TMS). The other transport requests belonging to this client
    transport are then automatically added in the correct order.
    After the import process has completed, post-import activities are required for object
    generation steps. After completing the import, log on to the target client. From the SAP
    systems initial screen, choose transaction SCC7

  • More than one domain in the same library?

    I use two Macs. In one I use iWeb to maintain two blogs and in the other I use iWeb to maintain two sites. I am giving one of the Macs to one of my sons and would like to use one Mac to work with both domains. Can I copy both domains to the same iWeb application support folder or will one copy over the other and destroy it? Will the same folder hold two Domain files or do I need to rename one of them? Thanks!

    To add to Roddy's post I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
    If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process and move it to another location on your HD until you're satisfied the separation process is completed and what you want.
    This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.

  • Migrating KMS server from one computer to another

    Hi,
    I would like to know how to migrate the KMS from one server to another. Thanks in advance

    Steps to migrating the KMS:
    1. Uninstall the KMS host key first by running the following command:
    slmgr -upk
    2. Then, install the default kms key by running the following command:
    slmgr /ipk [KMS Client Setup Key]
    The default KMS client setup keys can be found here:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc303280.aspx
    3. Delete the record from the DNS:
    Open DNS console:
    Expand _tcp node under the domain.com. There will be a record _VLMCS. Delete this record.
    4. The KMS server is uninstalled.
    5. To install KMS on a new server, enter:
    cscript C:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs /ipk <KmsKey>
    then to activate the KMS host, enter:
    cscript C:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs /ato
    6. After activation is complete, restart the Software Licensing Service.
    7. Verify that the record is created for the new server in the DNS.
    To verify that the KMS host is configured correctly, you can check the KMS count to see if it is increasing. Run slmgr.vbs /dli on the KMS host to obtain the current KMS count. You can also check the Key Management Service log in the Applications and Services Logs folder for 12290 events, which records activation requests from KMS clients. Each event displays the name of the computer and the time-stamp of an individual activation request.

  • Attaching several buttons to one mouse listener

    Attaching several buttons to one mouse listener
    I have an application which consists of a GUI form, "EntryForm," and "DataForm," a collection of variables.
    Clicking EntryForm's submit button sends the entries to DataForm.
    The submit button is attached to a mouse listener "SubmitButtonHandler"
    My Question: How can I attach an arbitrary number, up to five instances of EntryForm to ONE mouse listener?
    I have tried this:
         final SubmitButtonHandler sbh = new SubmitButtonHandler( ...
         entryForm1 = new EntryForm();
         dataForm1 = new DataForm();
              entryForm1.submitButton.addMouseListener( sbh );
         entryForm2 = new EntryForm();
         dataForm2 = new DataForm();
              entryForm2.submitButton.addMouseListener( sbh );
         entryForm3 = new EntryForm();
         dataForm3 = new DataForm();
              entryForm3.submitButton.addMouseListener( sbh );
         entryForm4 = new EntryForm();
         dataForm4 = new DataForm();
              entryForm4.submitButton.addMouseListener( sbh );
         entryForm5 = new EntryForm();
         dataForm5 = new DataForm();
              entryForm5.submitButton.addMouseListener( sbh );
         ...In the mouse listener I have tried these approaches:
         public void mouseClicked( MouseEvent e ) {
              if ( e.getSource() == entryForm1.submitButton ) {
                   System.out.println( "Clicked: entryForm1.submitButton" );
                   // send the data to dataform1
              } else if( e.getSource() == entryForm2.submitButton ) {
                   System.out.println( "Clicked: entryForm2.submitButton" );
                   // send the data to dataform2
         public void mouseClicked( MouseEvent e ) {
              if ( e.getSource() == submitButton ) {
                   if( e.getSource() == entryForm1.submitButton ) {
                   // send the data to dataform1
                   } else if( e.getSource() == entryForm2.submitButton ) {
                   // send the data to dataform2
              } else if ( e.getSource() == anotherButton ) {
                   ...In both cases, only ONE form's button registers and even that is screwy.
    Can this approach be fixed so that the mous listener can discern between the various forms, or do I have to use five sets of forms and mouse listeners?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Button1.addMouseListener(ourMouseListener);
    Button1.setActionCommande("This is button 1");
    Button2.addMouseListener(ourMouseListener);
    Button2.setActionCommande("This is button 2");
    In the "ourMouseListener" event method, you use this...
    if((((JButton)event.getSource()).getActionCommand()).equals("This is button 1"))
    Source code for Button1
    if((((JButton)event.getSource()).getActionCommand()).equals("This is button 2"))
    Source code for Button2

  • How to migrate nested collections?

    In our SCCM 2007 environment we have dozens of nested collections, some are 4 or 5 collections deep too.   How do you migrate that over to CM2012?   In a lab environment I tried to migrate the collection.
    TestCollection\One Deep\Two Deep\Three Deep
    Each of the 4 collection had a machine inside of it. the migration wizard worked but I don't see my collections in the CM2012 console.
    mqh7

    The Collections should be migrated, ususally it's a refresh of the console that is required to see the new folders and Collections. One thing you can do to verify the migration is checking the "objects in job" status. It will provide you with information
    about the success/failure of the migration. You can also check the migmctl.log file for detailed information about the process.

  • Can you send a broadcast text msg to several people at one time

    How do you send a broadcast text message to several people at one time?

    As already provided, this is not supported with the iPhone's SMS client at the present time but as a workaround, you can do the same via email - SMS is just very limited email sending/receiving anyway.
    This requires knowing the recipient's cell phone provider and the provider's email domain and entering this as an email address for a contact.
    Here are some common domains.
    Alltel = [email protected]
    AT&T = [email protected]
    Boost Mobile = [email protected]
    Cingular (AT&T) = [email protected]
    Einstein PCS = [email protected]
    Sprint = [email protected]
    T-Mobile = [email protected]
    US Cellular = [email protected]
    Verizon Wireless = [email protected]
    Virgin Mobile = [email protected]
    With the x's representing the recipient's cell phone number beginning with the area code. You can also use the same for MMS - sending a photo via the iPhone's email client which is received by the recipient as an MMS on their iPhone.
