  • Migrate development environment to Eclipse 3.4 M6

I want to migrate development environment to Eclipse 3.4.
I require to use version 2.1 of BEA Server Tools and want the download link for the same as I am using Eclipse 3.4 M6 and version 2.0 doesnt work with it.
Any download link available for the same?
    Even Beta version will do.
    Thanks,
    Manish.

Can you ensure that the SWF your are debugging is a release SWF?
I've recently fixed a bug (which is not publicly available) where the same stacktrace was visible:
A release SWF loads a debug SWF via SWFLoader/ModuleLoader, etc.
Making sure the main container SWF is a debug one. That should fix this problem.
(You can check whether a SWF is debug or not by opening it in nemo440 (google for that) and looking for debugfile / debugline opcodes.)
Let me know how it works out.

  • FAO Adobe: What is Adobe's mobile development strategy?

We've been trying to establish where Adobe is going with mobile development but just can't figure it out. Can anyone clarify please?
For example, when will Dreamweaver be updated to properly support the latest versions of Phonegap/Cordova (i.e. v3.x)? Or is there no commitment to Phonegap? Blackberry, WebOS, Symbian are still shown but not supported. And Windows Phone is supported but not shown.
There seems to be a lack of interest from Adobe for Phonegap/Dreamweaver support.
Alongside our investment in Flash, which is now killed off, we previously invested time in native app development, then started using FlashBuilder because of Adobe's support for mobile app development, but Flashbuilder isn't properly supported now. Then switched to dreamweaver/phonegap because of Adobe's commitment to develop once and distribute to many platforms. But it seems to be a dwindling commitment and Phonegap isn't planned to support Blackberry 10. Creative Cloud seemed like a step towards supporting better development and faster access to updated software but the products have hardly been updated since we adopted it. So, we're just trying to establish if there is a strategy or go back to native app development with eclipse and xcode or look for another solution.
We've recently seen "Adobe Experience Manager" in the press but it seems like a lot of marketing blurb with no real substance in terms of a development strategy and how the Adobe products fit in.
Any clarification of the strategy would be really useful. Anyone got any ideas?

    Hi Ronny,
you only have the two possibilities which where shown: Backweb or Attachments. As you say I got more bad experience with Attachments due to the fact that you need BP's or Activities. If you are using SAP Portal my recommendation is Backweb. I installed it under CRM 3.0 and it is really good. Easy to use and reliable. Admins need 30 min for training, Enduser about 5 Minutes and it works - what should I say more

  • Migrating Developer Forms to JDeveloper

I was given to understand that using the Wizard available in JDeveloper, one can migrate Developer Forms to JDeveloper.
Is this possible?. If so and anyone has done it, please let me know how to proceed.
    Thanks

Meanwhile, our FormsWizard has matured to a tightly integrated
    plug-in to JDeveloper.
The Wizard allows you to transform your fmb/mmb files to Java-
based applications. Apart from the data model, which is indeed
transformed to BC4J components, the Wizard also translates the
    GUI to a Swing-based application or a JSP front-end.
PL/SQL code is also translated, although there are certain
    limitations.

  • Development Strategy

    Hi,
    Assume that we want to develop applications which will run on EP. We have the following choices for development tools;
    - Web Dynpro for Java/ABAP
    - Pure Java (JSP)
    - Portal Application (PAR). Applications Developed with PDK --> is this correct?
My question is all about Portal Applications. I appeciate if you help me to make it clear,
Q1. What is the language used for Portal Applications? May be I've to ask, What languages can be used for Portal Applications?
Q2. Is Javascript coding possible with Portal Applications?
Q3. In what circumstances we have to choose development of a Portal Application instead of a WD of JSP applications?
    My best regards

    Hi,
         In addition to the above....
Webdynpro is preferred when minimum coding is required and applications are to be developed fast with minimal time and effort.
WD is also used when components are to be reused. Also highly skilled programmers are not needed to develop a WD application.
Java script can be used with Portal applications. Refer docs on creating Portal Applications. U'll get to know better.

    Pooja.

  • Development Strategy Input Request

I have a client who wishes to add Purchase Requests from an existing external Java application into SRM 7.0 on a SAP ECC 5.0 ERP platform. Their request proposes that this could be easily accomplished using the "BAPI_REQUISITION_CREATE" transaction.
We've downloaded the NetWeaver 7.02 ABAP Trial to evaluate possible development strategies. With a desire to follow established Best Practices we could use some advice on the best development approach.
Does the NetWeaver 7.02 ABAP platform offer the best and most appropriate development environment? If so, can we add SRM functionality to test on?
Will the Trial version suffice for the development simple non-UI application for the submission of Purchase Requests?  We do not have SAP deployed in our development environment.
Which would be the better approach, ABAP or Java? If Java is the recommended approach, is the Trial development environment suffice?
Any guidance or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • UI5 Development Strategy

    Hi All,
    I am new to UI5.
I am getting confused because of UI5 development options.
If i am not wrong, we can deploy UI5 to ABAP server or to a Java server.
    What is SAP's standard recommendation?
To develop UI5 and store as BSP in ABAP repository or
To develop and deploy to Java server
    Thanks

Yes we can deploy UI5 application to ABAP or JAVA server.

It depends on your systems, server infrastructure. if you are using SAP Gateway and want to consume those OData services then you can develop application to consume it and then deploy the application to GW ABAP application server.

  • Mobile Development Strategy

Iu2019m confused with some of the surrounding technologies for the development of mobile applications.   For a mobile application I am working on, I have exposed a u201Cbapiu201D as a web service through ICF.  I can consume the web service in my mobile application.  The intended audience for the application would be licensed u201Cprofessionalu201D (named) users so I assume licensing should not be a problem.
The question, what role and why do I concern myself with the following when developing mobile applications?
Mobile Infrastructure, Gateway, SUP (Sybase unwired platform), PI(XI), .Net Connector (NCo) 3.0.

    Hello  Russ,
When you are creating a simple application (no big data transactions and less user), it could be feasible to use the way as you said.
But when there is need for the following, we need such infrastructure to manage applications.
    1. dynamic data distribution
    2. multiple mobile platform support
    3. trusted and reliable data flow.
    4. data conflict detection
    and many more.
You can find more info about the the insfrastructure architecture here

  • Migrate database strategy, have two question?

    Hello,
I will migrate a huge whole database from serverA (9i db) to server B 10G), will do like this:
    1. Export/Import structures
    2. Disable constraints and set indexes UNUSABLE (check if 10g can set PK/UK indexes to UNUSABLE state)
    3. Direct insert data through db link
    4. Rebuild all indexes
    5. Enable all constraints
I am not very cleaer about step 2 and step 3, who can give me an explaination how to do like that?
    Thank you
    Jerry

Why would you import the indexes and constraints in step 1 only to disable them in step 2?
Why are you copying the data across a database link rather than just using export and import?
Define "huge" in terms of database size.
    What is your downtime window?
What operating system(s) are being used?
Can you use [transportable tablespaces|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96520/transpor.htm#12010] instead?

  • Migrating development / production

    Hi,
We have BOXI R2 installed on two environments: production and development.
    I lost development environment.
I used Specify datasource (second option) in CCM to copy the CMS database from production to development and then copied the production FileStore content from production to development; didn't work.
I used Import Wizard to copy CMS repository from production to environment(after intialized the development CMS database using the third option of Specify datasource in CCM) and copied FileStore from production to environment; didn't work.
    Where I am wrong?
    Many thanks.

I would be concerned with the CMS DB copy. if the version is the same this should work and may someday be needed for disaster recovery. Are there any errors when you try to copy the DB? Are you working off a copy of the production DB or live one? It would be best to copy from one that is not being accessed by a CMS.

  • 10g Migration Problem: error shown when trying to call a report from form

    Dear Friends,
I am working on migrating developer 2000 forms to 10g forms. I am using migration tool for this. Everything is going fine except calling report from a form.
Say, in the original form I had the following:
    RUN_PRODUCT(REPORTS,’ C:\test1.rdf’,SYNCHRONOUS,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,pi_id,NULL);
    After migration its has become:
    rp2rro.rp2rro_run_product(REPORTS, ’ C:\test1.rdf’,SYNCHRONOUS,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,pi_id,NULL);
Then, I have kept the report ‘test1.rdf’ in the ‘OraHomeAS\reports\samples\demo\’ location and changed the above code into:
    rp2rro.rp2rro_run_product(REPORTS,'test1.rdf',SYNCHRONOUS,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,pi_id,NULL);
Now the form runs fine on application server but it can’t call the report. While attempting to call the report, it shows the following error:
    ORA-06508
    FRM-40735
Please note that the report ‘test1.rdf’ individually runs fine on the application server and at the time of migration I provided all the information (e.g. report server name) correctly. If I am missing any package, please tell which package I am missing and where should I paste it.
Please help me because I am very close to the deadline!
    Rgds,
    Luther

    Hi,
The conversion to use the rp2rrp call needs a library to resolve the call which I think is called rp2rro.pll.
It seems that this library is not being found at run time, which is what the ora-06508 error often means.
I guess that you have compiled the form and must therefore have the pll to compile, so it is the forms_path setting in the app server run time that might not be set.
Look at the environment file (default.env is the original name for this, if you haven't created a custom one) for the entry FORMS_PATH. Is the location of your library specified in the path ?? If not put the directory in, then stop and restart the app server.

  • Problems while migrating PDK applications from Portal 7.1 to Portal 7.3

    Hi All,
I am facing a problem while migrating a PDK application from Portal 7.1 to Portal 7.3.
Since Portal 7.3 doesnt support PAR files any more it provided with a tool to convert the PAR to an EAR file and deploy the resultant EAR to the new portal.
I converted the PAR into EAR and deployed the file but the application is not executing. When I looked into the log files i found the following exception. The application is not able to identify the tag "documentBody". I checked the protalapp.xml and the "SharingReference" is properly maintained in the file but the error message suggests that its not able to fine the reference to the tagLib uri maintained in the portalapp.xml
Now my question is why is it not able to obtain a reference to the taglib? Did any one face similar problem previously. Can you please provide me with any document for migrating / developing PDK application for Portal 7.3

Now I am facing another problem. The application did deploy successfully but with a warning. When i checked the warning it says that the deployment was successful but can not be started.

  • Sql srver datetime to oracle by sql developer

Using the tool Sql Developer 3.1.07, try to migration an sql server 2008 database to oracle 11gR2. The tool failed at a few places. One point:
    sql server table:
    create table Table1 (
    [modificationDatetime] [datetime] NOT NULL,
The tool generated Oracle script for the same table:
    create table Table1 (
modificationDatetime DATE DEFAULT SYS_EXTRACT_UTC NOT NULL,
The script actually does not work in oracle with the error:
SQL Error: ORA-00984: column not allowed here
    00984. 00000 - "column not allowed here"
Simplely replacing 'SYS_EXTRACT_UTC' with 'sysdate' works.
Wondering if this is a bug of the tool.
    Thanks,

The SQL Server table I used to reprot the issue at our SQl Dev team is:
    drop table DateTimeMig;
    create table DateTimeMig ([modificationDatetime] [datetime] NOT NULL default getutcdate());
And I reproduced with 3.1 the migration code issue:
    -- DROP TABLE DateTimeMig CASCADE CONSTRAINTS;
    PROMPT Creating Table DateTimeMig ...
    CREATE TABLE DateTimeMig (
modificationDatetime DATE DEFAULT SYS_EXTRACT_UTC NOT NULL
Issue is investigated by migration developer team.
