Migration of legacy Customer from Basic Authentication to OAuth 2.0

Hi Team,
I have tested OAuth 2.0 and able to fetch and insert data. The user I have created is 1 month back, so both Basic and OAuth 2.0 is working.
What about the legacy customers, who are using Basic as their authentication mechanism. Can they use OAuth 2.0?
And if not, how much time it will take to migrate to the OAuth 2.0?
Is there any cost involved?
Awaiting your response.
Thanks & Regards,
Brajmohan

What do you mean by "legacy"?  OAuth can be used with any of our RESTful APIs, so unless you are using the SOAP API (which only supports Basic), you can move to OAuth.

    OS : Windoes 2000 Adv Server SP4
    I am very successfull in configuring a web application with basic authentication
    and all works fine for me. Now i have a virtual directory for downloading certain

  • How to call a web service from BPEL that requires HTTP basic authentication

    Hi All,
    I need to calling some Web Services from BPEL (SOA 10.1.3.1 production running on XP machine). The services require HTTP basic authentication.
    I have tried adding httpUsername and httpPassword properties to the ParnterLink, and I see in BPEL Console that they are deployed by checking the descriptor page. But I still get a SOAP fault, HTTP 401: Unathenticated.
    I have also tried using basicHeaders (from memory) = credentials, httpBasicUsername, and httpBasicPassword. Same result.
    I have done a packet trace using Ethereal, and the headers do not seem to contain the userid and password at all.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Mark Nelson

    Thanks Bas,
    I have resolved the issue. The provider of the Web Service had not configured if for Basic Authentication. For some reason it worked when they tested, or maybe the did not test. The only thing I had to change was to use:
    <property name="basicHeaders">credentials</property>
    <property name="basicUsername">WMDATA</property>
    <property name="basicPassword">WMDATA</property>
    Instead of:
    <property name="httpUsername">WMDATA</property>
    <property name="httpPassword">WMDATA</property>
    I don’t know why this is, maybe because it is an Axis Web Service.
    Sorry for wasting your time.

  • Calling web service with basic authentication from EP "unauthorized"

    Hello,
    I need to call a .NET web service with basic authentication on the IIS from my portal application (no http proxy between portal and IIS). But always I get the following exception:
    <b>com.sap.engine. services.webservices.jaxm.soap.accessor. NestedSOAPException:

    I'm using the following code for calling the .NET web service:

    ILicenceManager lLicMan = (ILicenceManager) PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService("LicenceManager");
    ILicenceManager lLicManSecure = lLicMan.getSecurisedServiceConnection(request.getUser());
    Licence_GetListResponse lGetListResponse = lLicManSecure.Licence_GetList(lParameter);</i><b>...</b>
    I've also configured a http system in the portal system landscape using the following parameters:
    <i>Authentication Method : Basic Authentication
    Authentication Type : Server
    User Mapping Type : admin,user</i>
    The user mapping is also personalized for this system!
    What's wrong? Please help! This is really urgent!

  • NPS Authentication Fails (Reason 16) After Migration to 2012 R2 from 2008 R2

    I'm using NPS for wired dot1x authentication and I just migrated my NPS server from 2008 R2 to 2012 R2.  When I point the network switch to start using the new 2012 R2 NPS as the RADIUS server, I get authentication failures - event 6273, reason code
    16.  When I switch it back to the 2008 R2 server, it works fine.  The two servers are configured EXACTLY the same as far as I can tell - same RADIUS client config, same connection request policies, same network policies - and it should be since I
    used the MS prescribed migration process.  The only thing that differs is the server's certificate name used in the PEAP setup screen.
    I'm using computer authentication only, so everything is based on computer accounts and I've selected to NOT validate server credentials on the group policy.
    I've verified the shared secrets multiple times.  Both servers are domain controllers.

    Hi,
    Have you added the NPS server to the RAS and IAS Servers
    security group in AD DS?
    The NPS server needs permission to read the dial-in properties of user accounts during the authorization process.
    Try to add a loal user on the NPS server, then test with the local user. If it works, it means that there is something wrong between NPS and DC.
    If the issue persists, it means that the configuration between NPS and NAS is wrong.

  • Fiori Launchpad - Basic authentication popup

    Hi,
    I have used the std. class /UI2/CL_SRA_LOGIN for Fiori launchpad log in screen. When there is no user action for long time and the session cookie gets expired; any operation performed(like selecting an app) in this case is bringing a browser basic authentication popup.
    How to avoid this by either taking the user to initial login screen instead of the authentication popup ?
    Tags edited by: Michael Appleby

    Hi Aakash,
    Please upload the screenshot. Is it critical issue or just a nice to have?
    From end user point of view, I prefer popup because I can continue the work from the last point. The best is IT sets up SSO.

  • Error in basic authentication after SPNego implementation

    Hi all!
    I have implemented integrated Windows authentication (SPNego-Kerberos) and after change login modules some external applications developed in .NET using Basic authentication couldn't logon. I know this error can be fixed modifing .NET code but in this company we don't have an knowleadge of all the applications consuming PI Web Servicies in production environment.
    Do you have an idea to solve this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi All,
    thanks for your help. We have rised OSS note to SAP and they have identifyed that the problem is in MDM Java API and Portal Contents. They provided fix (Patch 14) and now it is OK - see SAP note: Note 1464966 - MDM 7.1 SP04 Patch12 Release Note
    MDM Java API:
    Fixed: During the creation of the MDM session with MDM repository from MDM portal standard iViews or custom application (standalone or in portal), the following error message appears in the portal default trace: "Can not authenticate repository session# because user password is not specified" or "Can not trust user session.."  and in addition, the corresponding trace logs contains the following entry "BlobCacheImpl.retrieveSchema" (O 320008 2010 and O 327326 2010).
    MDM Portal Content (iViews):
    Fixed: During the creation of the MDM session with MDM repository from MDM portal standard iViews, the following error message appears in the portal default trace: " Can not authenticate repository session# because user password is not specified "  or "Can not trust user session.."  and in addition, the corresponding trace logs contains the following entry "BlobCacheImpl.retrieveSchema". If the corresponding MDM Java API fix has been applied, applying the MDM iViews fix is not required, since the Java API issue should be sufficient (O 320008 2010 and O 327326 2010).

  • UDDI inquiry service HTTP-Basic authentication in BPEL (10.1.3.1)

    Hi Gurus,
    I'd like to know how we can setup BPEL server for Oracle Service Registry UDDI with HTTP-BASIC authentication for inquiry service (apart of OWSM solution)?
    Imagine that in Service Registry I have defined HTTP-BASIC authentication (REGISTRY_HOME/app/uddi/services/Wasp-inf/package.xml) for inquiry service used in BPEL domain (uddiLocation key in BPEL domain configuration). And now I'd like to provide credentials. In package.xml I have this
    <service-endpoint path="/inquiry" version="3.0" name="UDDIInquiryV3Endpoint"
    service-instance="tns:UDDIInquiryV3" processing="tns:UDDIv1v2v3InquiryProcessing"
    accepting-security-providers="HttpBasic">
    <wsdl uri="uddi_api_v3.wsdl" service="uddi_api_v3:UDDI_Inquiry_SoapService"/>
    <envelopePrefix xmlns="arbitraryNamespace" value=""/>
    <namespaceOptimization xmlns="arbitraryNamespace">false</namespaceOptimization>
    </service-endpoint>
    I don't see any field with username or password. Is it automaticaly taken from security provider configured for Service Registry (for example LDAP)? If yes then it is clear.
    But what about BPEL engine, where can I provide those credentials? Is it some secret configuration file? Or only supported way is to configure it through OWSM component in order to enrich request by credentials (what about license, when customer doesn't want to use OWSM)?
    Do I miss something in this concept?
    Thanks
    Peter

    as said internally - file an ER for it pls - and I will take care of it, depending on the demand - either for 10.1.3.1 GA or 10.1.3.1 patchset ..
    we will support only HTTP Basic Auth - rest will follow per customer demand ..

  • Migrate a Single User from GW7 to Exchange 2003

    Does anyone have experience migrating a single user from GroupWise 7 to Exchange 2003? We have a business unit that we acquired several years ago and no decision has been made to this point about merging the two e-mail systems (we are GroupWise 7 and they are Exchange 2003). I have just been asked about moving one of our employees to their business unit and want to know my options.
    My gut says that we should keep him on GroupWise because that is what he knows and loves, then we can use this as a first crack in getting GroupWise over there.
    I have found a few Microsoft articles that reference setting up the API gateway and migrating data through there, but everything mentioned is either GroupWise 5.5 or 6.x. Also, based on our past experiences with the API gateway we would like to avoid that if possible.
    We have an implementation of the Novell GroupWise Gateway for Microsoft Exchange, but that presumably does not help us in this situation.
    Are there any utilities out there? Anything that could take a GroupWise Native Archive and convert it to the Outlook equivalent? Even if it was like an archive that he had to manually open from time to time, I'm betting that would be good enough.

    Yes, I have lots of experience. The Microsoft articles that you refer to basically involve setting up co-Existence between GW and Exchange. They all refer to GW 6.5, but it works with GW7. It is just not "officially" supported by Microsoft. The other thing to be aware is that the Microsoft Connector for GroupWise comes with Exchange 2003 and links in with the Novell API Gateway 4.1. The Newer Novell Gateway for Exchange sort of replaces this Microsoft tool, but you are not going to find it much better as a gateway. Too many issues and not nearly enough documentation on the web.
    Also, you can use the migration wizard from the Exchange 2003 installation to migrate a user from GW to Exchange (with or without co-existence set up) . It works fine to migrate all of the users mail, appointments, etc. Does not destroy the GW mailbox, so you can do a dry run to see how it works. Does not migrate their personal address books though.
    The Wizard can create the user for you in Exchagne 2003, but it can only create an Exchange 2003 Legacy account. If you are running Exch2007, set up the user first, then migrate.
    Hope that helps.

  • How to access SOAP web service with authentication, HTTP basic Authentication

    Dear All
    i use Flash Builder 4.5, flex 4..1, i am developing a flex client to soap webservices hosted over Glassfish 2 Java server, the web services is protected by HTTP Basic Authentication, everythime i run my code , the prombt for username and password show up, i need to pass user name and password through action script, i followed the flollowing (but was for http web service, not soap) but really did not work.
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/490806/http-basic-authentication-wi th-httpservice-objects-in-adobe-flex-air
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4262868
    private function authAndSend(service:HTTPService):void
            var encoder:Base64Encoder = new Base64Encoder();
            encoder.insertNewLines = false; // see below for why you need to do this
            encoder.encode("someusername:somepassword");
            service.headers = {Authorization:"Basic " +encoder.toString()};
            service.send();
    Also i noticed in debug mode, always that WARNNING raised up
    Warning: Ignoring 'secure' attribute in policy file from http://fpdownload.adobe.com/pub/swz/crossdomain.xml.  The 'secure' attribute is only permitted in HTTPS and socket policy files.  See http://www.adobe.com/go/strict_policy_files for details.
    any idea ?

    Hello,
    I don't know if this could help.
    Another way to connect to a web service by SOAP and WSDL is to click on the Data/Services panel, then click on "Connect to Data/Services" and then select the "Web Service" (WSDL) icon. This could help as well.

  • Help needed for using BASIC authentication through JDBCRealm

    Help needed.
    Hello,
    I am doing a degree project, so far it works fine in my local machine, I need to try it on my virtual hosting (as it is a live server).
    My project requires JDBCRealm, that is BASIC authentication loading access data from mysql database. Normally this setup can be done in Server.xml file, because my Tomcat hosting is a virtual one, I only have permission to access the web.xml file.
    My question is: is it possible to get it done in an alternative way? In web.xml? Some properties file maybe?
    Thank you very much.

    You can set this up for your context using META-INF/context.xml instead of working with server.xml.
    Make a directory called META-INF under your webapp ( it'll be at the same level as WEB-INF ). Under this, add a context.xml with all your context specific configuration including the realm. A sample is below
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Context path="/myApp" reloadable="true">
        <Realm
            className="org.apache.catalina.realm.JDBCRealm"
            driverName="com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver"
            connectionURL="jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://127.0.0.1:1433;DatabaseName=myDB;SelectMethod=Cursor;"
            connectionName="username" connectionPassword="password"
            digest="MD5" userTable="users" userNameCol="userid" userCredCol="userpassword"
            userRoleTable="user_roles" roleNameCol="rolename"
        />
    </Context>Hope this helps.

  • Migration of  Approved Invoices from 11i to R12

    Hi All,
    I am migrating all approved invoices from 11i to R12 using Invoice Interface tables and "Payables Open Interface Import" Concurrent program.But in R12 the Approval status changes and to "Required" and the Accounted status of distribution line changes to Unprocessed. We do not have the set up for approval work flow process, So the invoice should be validated by "Force Validation" by checking the ‘Allow Force Approval’ in payable options. But when I am running the "Invoice Validation" program the theere is no change in the Approval status.
    Please help.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Subhrakant

    I am a newbie to Oracle Apps. I guess Oracle Apps use the "sequence" to generate the Key in the Oracle tables or is there some else mechanism.
    When migrating Oracle Apps from lower version to higher version, is there any concept of setting the sequence numbers in Oracle Apps or we don't need to take care of this ie the migration handles this automatically.The migration/upgrade script/driver should take of seeded objects,
    For your custom objects, you need to verify it yourself.
    Thanks,
    Hussein
