Mini to nano???

i have an original mini and have already payed to replace it through apple and i was wondering since the mini is no longer on the production line, if i could get a 4 gig nano instead. i don't care if it's used and refurbished but it would be a lot easier to handle if it was a nano. if you work for apple and see this, could you tell me yay or nay???

The iPod Mini and the iPod Nano are two completely different products.
if i have a two cd's from two artists that charge the same price for me to buy for my music shop, i will charge the same price for each even tho they are two completely different products.
Pretty poor analogy.
A CD is a CD, regardless of who the artist is or who manufacters and who sells it.
A Mini and a Nano are not identical products.
The EXACT same recording process, manufacturing, distribution and money (artist pay, manufacturing costs, etc) are for almost identical for every CD produced, regardless of artist or company.
but if a company has to pay more for something, they will charge more for it.
Which is why a 2 GB Nano is the same price a 4GB Mini was.
And this is not necessarily so, either. Ever hear of a loss leader? Perhaps Apple sells the Nano for less profit than they made on a Mini because they can make more sales on the back end (iPod accessories, iTunes & computers)?

My iPod mini does not charge properly anymore. If I send it in for battery replacment, will it send me a mini or nano. I have many accesories for my mini that won't work for a nano. Also, would they send me a 1st or 2nd generation iPod mini.

How to update from Mini to Nano

Hi
All my songs are on my Mini and I want to get them onto my Nano. I thought this would involve moving the files over to my library so I could do this. My mini wont let me do this and I never kept all the songs in my library as it is a shared computer and takes up space. How do I transfer from Mini to Nano. Seems I cant even copy to a disk and do it that way either.....please help !!

You need to first transfer all the files from your ipod back into your computer before you could transfer them to the nano. There are many forms already about this try searching for from ipod to computer or something.

Transfer music from ipod mini to NANO??

hi, as the title states, I recently got the new ipod nano 4gb product. I have an old ipod mini which has all my songs on, on my laptop i have got my itunes with the songs that are currently on my ipod mini, when i connect my ipod NANO is it possible to use the same itunes and just upload the songs onto my nano?
if not how can i achieve this?

If you have the songs in iTunes then your new iPod will load those up. However if the songs are only on the Mini then you would have to return them to your computer, you can't transfer directly from one iPod to another.

IPod mini - iPod Nano trade?

I was just wondering is apple would trade my 1st gen 4Gb mini for a 4 Gb nano when i send it back for service as the click wheel is not working, or if i would need to pay some sort of difference?

Your warrenty is 1 year regardless, unless you bought the applecare program. You can't trade So, i'm selling my dad my mini and getting a 30GB with christmas money!

Need help with transferring from ipod mini to nano!

I own an iPod mini and just went and bought an iPod nano and am wondering how to transfer the music from my mini onto my nano. This may seem like a dumb question but I'm not finding a way in iTunes to do it. Thanks for help in advance

IPods are designed to transfer music in a one way fashion. Meaning, iPods can only have music transferred to them via iTunes, not vice versa. So, in your case, where the iPod mini has your music on its memory, you will be unable to transfer the actual music back to the computer. Hopefully, you have the music from the iPod mini stored on your computer or on some flash drive to be able to import the same music to the iPod nano. I am assuming that this is the case, your music being on iTunes, else other implications would have occurred in updating the iPod mini. Put simply, you need to have your music solely on iTunes and transfer from there to the iPod nano. Hopefully this helps.

Belt Clip like the Mini, does Nano have?

I just upgraded from an iPod Mini to an iPod Nano.
But my iPod Nano did not come with a snap-on belt clip like the iPod Mini did. I know I can buy a carrying case for the Nano, but I was wondering if there was a belt clip I could purchase that was like the simple one that came with the iPod Mini.
Anyone know if such a snap-on belt clip exists for the Nano?

Transfering from mini to nano

Hey guys, I'm new to these boards, but I have a super quick (and probably easy) question.
Is it possible, for me to plug both my iPod mini and iPod nano in, and somehow grab all the songs from my mini and put them right on to my nano?
I'm not longer going to be using my mini, and would rather not write down all 700 some odd songs i have on there, just to waste my time and search through my library again, and drag them all into my nano.
so, can I get my mini songs directly transfered to my nano?

I really love the nano, although I only recieved it this afternoon. It's not super different than the mini. The color screen, album art, and the picture slideshow, definately make it worth it. I haven't had a chance to really look at any other features yet. But so far, I'm lovin' it.
I'm not too anal about the appearance of my nano. I did order the black on, and yes, it's fingerprinted all over the place, but 'oh well' is what I say. I haven't discovered any scratches or anything on it [yet] but what device isn't gonna get its normal wear and tear?
The nano is SOO tiny. It's a little longer than my middle finger and so so thin. But I don't think its that delicate. Yea, if someone throws it to the ground, I'm sure you can call it delicate, but besides that, I love it.
I'm just praying and hoping they'll come out with an iTrip soon for it. I only use my ipod for the car usually. *crosses fingers*

Not mini, but Nano question...

A friend of mine came back to visit me, and used my iMac to download some music off of iTunes to his Nano, put the music on, and then flew back home, he has a PC. Since it is formatted for Mac, is there any programs, preferrably free, that will get those songs off of the iPod to his computer? Will any software that copies music from the iPod, like Senuti for Mac OS X work? Or do I need some sort of software that will make his pc accept the iPod? He really doesn't want to lose all that music.

If the iPod is formatted for Mac it won't run natively on a PC because the Windows OS does not support the HFS Plus file system and therefore will not see the drive. There are third party programs that will allow you to use a Mac formatted iPod on Windows. However none that I know of are free, Xplay for instance gets good reviews but is a commercial program. Mini or Nano for warranty?

When you send in your mini for the warranty now, do they send you a mini back or a nano. I have been told they stopped making the mini so what does this mean for the warranty as my ipod stopped working/

Where are you people getting this info from, about Apple sending the new Nano out by just sending them back a mini? Doesn't that sound a bit ridiculous to be true?? I mean, c'mon..the Nano and the mini have no comparison..

I have a Mini, my husband has a Nano. We use the same account but since adding a bunch of new songs to our library, his Nano doesn't have enough memory to hold them. How doI set up a new account so he can have his own library?
