Minimum role to view portal content in Portal

Hi,
what should be the minimum role assigned to make Portal content visible, able to create iView.
dont want to give admin persmission to external people, but want to give access to create an iView, and preview the same.

Its done.
actually I assigned owner permisison to the folder which has thsi suer spesific content, and for entire prital content folder, I have assigned read only permission for this user.

hi,
I am attempting to upload a sampling of R/3 ECC 6.0 roles into the portal (EP7.0). I have the system connection defined and testing successfully. I unfortunately can not execute the upload function. After defining the selections that I wish to upload, in this case a role, I receive the red exclamation mark followed by
"Could not perform action. Check the role migration log for additional information"
Please let me know how to upload sap roles from portal.

Hi,
Make sure Portal System Landscape has correct valud in System Property tab (System Property,Connector).
Below SAP help gives you all the informaton on role upload (Pre-requisites/the process flow).

How to transfer role to Web Portal

Hello Friends..
Need some help.
There is some specific requeirment of my project.
We have some Bex Queries which have been assigned under one particuler role and we can execute the same from Buss explores.
Now I just want to transfer this role to enterprise portal , so i can see all the iview for all queries under the same role.
Currently we are creating all iview manually which is unlogical.
Could you please let me know how can we transfer role to Web , so we can see all iview.

But I m not transporting the Web tempaltes and i view any where.
I just want to chck all Iview and Webtemplates be there for all queries and reports in same server.
When i go in Portal , all iviews shld be created automatically for all reports.
For this , we need to transfer our roles from Bex to Web portal , so it automatices create all iview for all report.
But i dont have idea , how can we do this..
Please let me know if any one of you have any idea.

The documentation says that
The Portal Favorites iView contains a freely definable list of links for direct access to items that you use regularly. This can include the following:
●     Portal pages and iViews that run as full-page applications
●     Documents, folders, and other items in KM repositories
●     External items, such as Internet pages
So we can't do it for Roles.

Dynamic role Assignment in Portal using Web dynpro Java?

Hi All,
We have following requirement for dynamic role assignment.
1) User Login to Portal.
2) User Clicks on Home Tab in Portal, through RFC/BAPI, get Role from Backend(ECC) and compare the role ID with Portal Object ID through UME.
Role gets assigned in Portal after comparison, if it exists in Portal.
Can you please let me know what all steps I need to do to complete the above assignment.

To be precise I will explian my requirement.
1) User Login ( User ID will be input to RFC)
2) RFC will get Role for that user ID from Backend(ECC) and return that role ID to Portal.
3) Now With the help of UME API, need to search role ID in Portal, If it exists, no action.
If Role ID does not exists, then it shuld assign that role in Portal.
Sorry for tedious comment.

Cannot view the content of XML document.

Hi experts,
i have saved edit form (SAP Demo News) in document folder (KM Content > document). To view the content, I click the XML document then the content is display as design in ShowForm.
My problem is i save the edit form (SAP Demo News) in my own folder (KM Content > MyFolder), then when I click the XML document the content is NOT display as design in ShowForm. But its display as XML coding.
How to make the content of XML document NOT view as XML coding?

Hi faeza ,
by default XML Forms can only be used in the repositories documents and userhome.
If you want to use XML-Forms in your own repository like "MyFolder" than the behaviour is like you have described.
So you have to adjust the KM settings for using XML-Forms as well in the repository "MyFolder".
Goto
System Administration ->
System Configuration ->
Knowledge Management ->
Content Management ->
Configuration
-> Content Management
-> Repository Filters
-> XML Forms Repository Filter
Choose the XML Forms Repository Filter entry "xmlforms_filter" and choose Edit.
Add as "Repositories:" your repository "MyFolder".
Save it and restart the whole portal.

Authorization issue to view cube contents

Hi Gurus,
I am getting Authorization issue to view cube contents in Production server, When I execute the cube it is showing me the following statement.
"You do not have sufficient authorization for the infoprovider ZMMG_C05".
Please provide me a possible solution for this.

Hi,
Two things to be checked with respect to authorization for this one.
1) Functional Roles: Check whether Info cube is present in the functional roles that are assigned to you.
                              If not you need to get the functional role in which the Infocube is assigned.
2) Data Access Roles: Check in the data access roles assigned to you, whether you have the access
                                  to the selection that you are using to see the data in the info cube. Else, request
                                  BASIS team to assign the appropriate data access roles to you.

Authorization error when trying to view Infocube content

I have created one Infocube and loaded the data.When I am trying to view the contents from manage screen,im getting the below mentioned error.
Your user master record is not sufficiently maintained for object Auth Obj for Personnel Area - 0PERS_AREA
Message no. BRAIN805
Diagnosis
When checking your authorizations for object 'Auth Obj for Personnel Area - 0PERS_AREA' (technical name: ZHR_0PERSA) it was established that you do not have authorization in your user master record for this object (return code 12).
Procedure
How you continue depends on the return code. See the online documentation for ABAP language element "AUTHORITY-CHECK". Please note:
With a return code of 12, the object 'Auth Obj for Personnel Area - 0PERS_AREA' has not been maintained in the user master, meaning there is no profile in the user master record in which this authorization object has been entered. This is, however, absolutely necessary, as all of the authorization objects created in the development class RSR are validated in the 'and' link. If the authorization is missing for only one object, the request is rejected as unauthorized.
Get the person responsible for your authorization to create you a profile containing authorization for object Auth Obj for Personnel Area - 0PERS_AREA.

Hi,
First check in RSSM whether your InfoProvider is checked for authorization object 0PERS_AREA. Also determine whether do you need this authorization object ?If yes, then it should be checked otherwise check mark should be unchecked. If 0PERS_AREA is checked for your InfoProvider, then you should have some value in this object when you create the role. Either * for all values or restricted value for it. Goto Pfcg select the role and add the authorization values for the 0PERS_AREAobject.

Hi Sri,
it looks that your HANA instance has been created before we enabled the web-based development workbench. Some privileges are missing, we can't migration those existing instances.
Nevertheless you can ignore the error above. You can see all the content inside your instance "smstest1".
If you want to get rid of the cosmetic issue. You might delete this instance and create a new one.

After I successfully install the OBI EE 10.1.3 Application, I am unable to view the contents in NQS Config file. It is opening in Notepad with error showing as "The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect."

You probably have restricted access to the file. Check if the drive is ntfs. If the os user is in administrator group, you can give permissions in file properties.

Is it possible to view the content of multiple lists(located in multiple webs) in one ListViewWebpart? And how can I filter a multivalue column?

Is it possible to view the content of multiple lists, that are located in different webs as well, in just one ListViewWebpart? Could I maybe change the query programmatically so that it get's the content this way?
I know that I could use the Content Query Webpart instead - actually I have been using that so far, but the problem is, that it brings no standard Sharepoint functionality for lists with it... I had to write the xsl style sheet, there are no dynamic filters
that the user could set, there are no default list operations the user could use.
The ListViewWepart has all of these, but it only shows the content of one list...
And my second problem:
One column can contain multiple values (like a column that contains multiple users or user groups that are related to one entry). I can filter every other column with the standard filters, but not the column with multiple values in it. Is it possible to
activate that or maybe add this feature programmatically?

You can fetch data from multiple lists in ListViewWebpart, this can be possible through Content Query web part or Custom Web Part using visual studio but in that case you can not get the standard SharePoint funcationality for list (which is available in
ListViewWebparts).
No OOB filter available for multi-choice column, you also have to go with custom solution to achieve this.
