Missed the class "LoggerNotAvailableException" in the wllog4j.jar

Hi all,
I want to create a custom appender following the guide: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15051_01/wls/docs103/logging/config_logs.html#wp1016031
but seems the class "weblogic.logging.LoggerNotAvailableException" is not in the jar file "wllog4j.jar", where can i find this class?
Regards,
hart

Hi Hart,
There are many locations (JARs) where you can find this missing class:
*1).*
Class: weblogic.logging.LoggerNotAvailableException
Package: weblogic.logging
Library Name: weblogic.jar
Library Path: C:\bea103\wlserver_10.3\server\lib\weblogic.jar

Class: weblogic.logging.LoggerNotAvailableException
Package: weblogic.logging
Library Name: wls-api.jar
Library Path: C:\bea103\tools\eclipse_pkgs\2.0\pkgs\eclipse\plugins\com.bea.workshop.upgrade81.thirdparty_1.0.100.200807251732\lib\wls-api.jar
*3).*
Class: weblogic.logging.LoggerNotAvailableException
Package: weblogic.logging
Library Name: wlfullclient.jar
Library Path: C:\bea103\wlserver_10.3\server\lib\wlfullclient.jar

  • Is the whole jar loaded for a single class?

    Hi,
Hopefully this is an easy yes/no question.
If my application makes reference to only a single class in a jar that has many other classes, does the entire jar (all the other classes) get loaded into memory?
If so, then it's worth it to break the jars up into only those classes I need (they're third party jars). Otherwise, I'll have to look for some other solution.
    TIA.
    Mike

No you don't.Yes he does - he was big enough to admit it - can't you?
import xyz.* doesn't "load everything in memory" as
schapel stated. You better read chapter 1 of your book
again (and again until it sinks in) before answering
advanced forum's questions.Perhaps you should reread schapel's post before making hot-headed replies to the advanced forum's questions. Besides, you must not read these forums too much because this topic comes up a lot.

  • Error msg Could not find the main class.Program will exit. in jar execution

    Hello,
I have created a jar so that I can used it in the webapp.
but when I click on it it says "Could not find the main class.Program will exit."
I searched a lot in the net and found that it has to do with the manifest file.
I even updated the manifest file using the command "jar umf main.txt filefolderupload.jar" with the class name mention along with the package heirarchy.
(pakage heirarchy in /,\ and .)
I am using JDK 1.5 . and have Updated JRE 1.6.
Also tried with extending the class with JApplet, but in vain.
Kindly help me in the above mention issue.

This post hints at a number of misunderstandings on your part, and raises a couple of important questions.
Note that this 'simple question' has a complicated answer. Given the complexity of it, it might pay to add Dukes to it, ..a lot of Dukes.
    The important questions are.
    1) Does this file/directory uploader need to provide the end-user with a file dialog in which they can choose a local directory to upload, or will a multi-file chooser do?
    2) Does this uploader need to upload to foreign sites, or does it upload back to its own server?
Looking at this table I prepared to describe the [uploader/local file access|http://pscode.org/test/uploader/fileuploader.html] possibilities, if the answers to the questions are 'multi-file chooser will do' and 'home site only', the best option is a sandboxed app. launched using webstart (JNLP) - option 5. If either of those questions go the other way, option 6 (digitally signed with extended permissions) is needed.

    Thnx for your help.

    Hello Decio Junior,
Actually yes, I resolved my problem.
I'm developing an EJB 3.0 project. I'm using NWDS 7.2 and JDK 1.6 as I said.
The problem is that my server was using JDK 1.4 and that was the problem.
EJB 1.1 and 2.1 need ejb-jar.xml but EJB 3.0 use the annotations instead.
Check your server JDK Version. It should be JDK 1.5 or higher.
Something else that you should check, in your project properties :
In the Build PATH : Use JDK 1.5
In the Java Compiler : Set the java compiler compliance level to 1.6 and check use default compliance settings
    Hope it would help.
If you need more explanations, I'm here
    Good luck.

  • Missing the .class

i just installed jcreator pro on this computer, and although applets i had already made work fine, new applets are missing the nameofprogram.class file and I am getting runtime errors. any ideas?

sounds like a program error. Perhaps you're not compiling before executing or maybe there are a number of different functions that you'd need to consult help for. Perhaps BUILD, COMPILE, EXECUTE (all with file and project variations).

  • Weblogic1034 correct path of the modules jars

We have install Weblogic1034 as a standard installation in linux system and the details are as follows:-
    1. WLS_HOME:- /progs/wls/weblogic1034
    2. DOMAIN_HOME:- /home/wls/wls1034/domains/om
    3. MODULES jars:- /progs/wls/wls1034/modules
When we are starting the weblogic server its throwing the below error:-

    Analysis:-
    weblogic.jar MANIFEST.MF file refers the modules jars(../../../modules/features/weblogic.server.modules_10.3.4.0
.jar) which is the relative path so when we start the server start it try to load the classes from the /progs/wls/modules
directory which is missing. I can see the modules directory in different path /home/wls/wls1034/modules in.
    Quick Solution:-
Quick fix is to create the soft link :-
    cd /progs/wls
    ln -s /home/wls/wls1034/modules /progs/wls/modules
then most of the errors related with the NoClassDefFoundError and ClassNotFoundException for the weblogic classes would be resolved.
Question1:- Is the path as mentioned above for the WLS_HOME and modules directory are correct ?
If yes then why it is failing to load the modules jars
Question2:- The solution which we used to create a soft link is not the correct way to re-solve the error. Can you please highlight what is the issue here.
    Edited by: 891057 on Dec 16, 2011 6:18 AM

I could fix this by setting MW_HOME to zip directory in environment variables (windows 7)
if you have C:\weblogic\wlserver then MW_HOME is C:\weblogic

  • Jars dependent on different versions of the another jar

I have two vendor supplied jars that are both dependent on different releases of another jar. So, in the usage instructions for the first jar, it says to make sure that x_1_2_1.jar is my classpath. Likewise, in the usage instructions for my other jar, it says to make sure that x_2_0_1.jar is in my classpath. The installers for each one of these jar puts their version of the dependent x jar in a subdirectory under their installation.
This causes all sorts of headaches because neither jar ever gets completely what it is looking for. Code in the jar that depends on x_1 fails if x_2 is in the classpath first, while code in the jar that depends on x_2 fails if x_1 is the classpath first.
(Since, I'm sure to encounter this mismatched versioning problem with other "utility" jars in future, I'm intentionally withholding the actually names of the jars involved. I'm looking for the general solution to this class of problem, not specific tips related to a particular utilities jar.)
I was thinking that maybe the manifest Class-Path of each jar might be used to force where each jar looks for it's dependent jars, but the documentation I read about Manifests indicated that each jars Class-Path is simply concatenated into the overall Classpath that the ClassLoader uses.
If it matters, all this is in a Java 1.3.1 environment.
It seems like I can't be the first person to come up against this, but I haven't really seen any traffic on the forums about this kind of problem. (Am I missing something obvious?)

May be custom ClassLoaders may help you, but I am not sure. It depends on whether you are allowed to explicitly load several equally named classes from different sources.
Probably it is allowed. The following is cited from the Java Language Specification, 2nd edition (chapter 7.7, Unique Package Names, packages.doc.html):
"If unique package names are not used, then package name conflicts may arise far from the point of creation of either of the conflicting packages. This may create a situation that is difficult or impossible for the user or programmer to resolve. The class ClassLoader can be used to isolate packages with the same name from each other in those cases where the packages will have constrained interactions, but not in a way that is transparent to a nave program. "

  • External Jar files packaged with the Application Jar.

    Hello Friends,
    I have a Java class 'Config.java' with a package a.b.c
This class requires a third party Jar 'new.jar'. I place this Jar file in the parent directory of the package.
So I can compile the Config.java with classpath as '.'
    This works fine.
Now while packaging them, I create a mymanifest.mf file with following contents
    Main-Class: a.b.c.Config
    Class-Path: . new.jar
    and issue the command
    jar -cvmf mymanifest.mf myjar.jar *
This creates a jar file with appropriate manifest information and heirarchy (since the included third party jar is in the same directory)
When I run the Jar by issuing the command
    java -jar myjar.jar
It gives me an error, NoClassDefFound for a class inside the included third party jar.
I have gone through some of the other queries posted in this forum and through Sun's articles for creating Jar files.
I have taken care of all the minute things involved in writing the manifest file, etc.
I dont understand why such a simple application gives me a problem.
Am I still missing something ?
    Regards,
    Ravi

I had the same problem. But I solve it.. The thing that you have to do is:
create another directory in your project application directory let's say your project directory is Project. such as Project / lib.
then put external jars in lib directory.
The last thing you have to do :
change your manifest file like that
    Main-Class : mainclass
    Class-Path : lib/externaljar1.jar lib/externaljar2.jar
I don't know you ever deal with manifest files before but there can be very stupid errors while you create .
i.e there should be a space between ":" and mainclass name you shoul use "/" not "\" etc.
I think it will work for you.

  • How to use two different versions of the same jar within one project

    Hi everybody!
I have a big problem while integrating different web service clients within one bigger java project. Both implemetations need some jar files to work but demand different version. So, i would like to know if there is any way to tell which implementation should use which version! Anyhow i add those jars to the classpath makes working only one or the other webservice working but never both! Any ideas somebody?
    Best regrads,
    Stefan Gtz

Of course do have the jar files different names but the classes inside of them are the same ... means that the standard system classloader can distinguish them. When you add a jar to a classpath the name actually dosent matter.... any other ideas, please?
PD.: i tryed to add a manifest file to the one jar which makes use of one of the dublicated jars to specify which jar to take direcly but it makes no difference since once classes loaded they cant be distinguish ....see:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/ext/basics/load.html

  • Multiple download of the same JAR file

We have a collection of applets packaged in a single JAR file. Some users (web developers that use our applets) have been complaining that the applet is extremely slow to start up.
When the html page includes more than one applet from the same JAR file then, "ONLY IN SOME CASES", the JAR file is downloaded multiple times.
By capturing network traffic we can also think that the JAR file is downloaded even when accessing an image packaged in the applet's own JAR file.
One further detail: this "DOES NOT OCCUR" when there is a fast connection to the server (or at leat it seems so). In these cases, the JAR file is downloaded once. It looks as if the problem only occurs on slower network connections.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Mmm... I don't think this is the solution... all the applets share a lot of classes (the big part of the JAR files).
But my question is....: why in some cases the JAR is downloaded more than once???

  • (261705413) Q RPCC-7 Does the client.jar file tie you Weblogic Server?

Q<RPCC-7> BEA is providing client-side helpers in the client.jar file, including
parsing and SOAP facilities, etc. But, are we saying that there is nothing
in there that ties the client to the server-side WLS implemenation? It seems
that putting the interface of the underlying implementation EJB SLS bean is a
coupling...??? It also seems that by coupling the client to WebLogic classes
(weblogic.soap.WebServiceProxy|SoapMethod) we are coupling it to WLS.
A<RPCC-7>: I understand your concerns, but you are not tied to WLS that tightly.
Certainly, the static client code utilizes the EJB interface that underlies the
web service but it is possible to invoke the web service dynamically. The use
of weblogic library classes to invoke the web service just indicates the use of
weblogic's client API. This client API can also be used to invoked webservices
hosted on other application server or frameworks. Additionally, other client APIs
can be used to invoke this web service, for instance the VB client example that
ended Thursday's presentation. Lastly, the remote interface in the client.jar
file could actually just be a java presentation generated from a WSDL file that
represents a C# web service (this is actually only possible in WLS7.0 and not
6.1 but the point is you do not actually know the inderlying framework or implementation
    andnor should you care).

Hello all, we are thinking about migrating from JBoss to WebLogic server, so as a proof of concept I am trying to migrate a JBoss Seam web application to WebLogic server.
I have followed all the instructions here: http://docs.jboss.org/seam/2.0.2.SP1/reference/en-US/html/weblogic.html and I have set up ebvryhting that is needed in order to start the server (JMS queues, datasources, etc) but when the server starts and tries to load the web application I got the following error message

The MyApplication.jar is where we keep all the models and we are using an exploded folder for the ear file. We have declared all the classes to be entities by using the @Entity and @Table annotations and we have also defined an interceptor in the ejb-jar.xml file (shown below).

I have tried to compile everythign from scratch by using weblogic.appc but I am getting the same error: No EJBs found in the ejb-jar file 'ejbModule'. Please ensure the ejb-jar contains EJB declarations via an ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptor or at least one class annotated with the @Stateless, @Stateful or @MessageDriven EJB annotation.
Any ideas what is going on and how I can resolve the issue?

    Hi John,
I am working on development an enterprise application using EJB 3.0 on Weblogic 10.
While developing, I am keeping all my classes (from ejb's as well as web) into APP-INF/classes directory. It is working fine for Web and ejb 2.0 packages, but ejb 3.0 packages, I get the following error when I keep my ejb 3.0 beans classes in APP-INF/classes directory.
No EJBs found in the ejb-jar file 'customer'. Please ensure the ejb-jar contains EJB declarations via an ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptor or at least one class annotated with the @Stateless, @Stateful or @MessageDriven EJB annotation.
One solution is to keep the classes under customer ejb directory, but I wan tto keep all the classes in APP-INF/classes directory so that when using Eclipse IDE I can output all compiled sources into APP-INF/classes directory.
Has anyone faced this situation? Any suggestions to fix this issue?

  • Forms 10g and Java 6 - Howto place the oracle .jars?

    Hi,
I would like to compile a sample Forms Java Bean with standalone Java ( not with the JDeveloper IDE )
and the source starts with a lot of import oracle classes in jars.
My java install is like this:
    JAVA_HOME=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_11
Could you indicate where I should place the Oracle jar files in order to have javac to recognize them?
    Many thanks in advance

    Hi again,
I'm not advanced enough on these topics to clarify.
Things have changed in the meantime here.
At the moment we are looking into using 'web_show_document' with an html page containing javascript.
There is a discussion on the 'talk2gerd.blogspot' that indicates what to set in formsweb.cfg and forms.conf in order to use javascript.
Still getting a browser written as a Javabean to consult entreprise documents from a Forms client would be a nice bonus.
    Many thanks for your help.
