Missing daq acquisition vi in LV7 with nidaq 6.9.3

Hi
after having installed LV7 without any DAQ-driver I installed NIDAQ 6.9.3.
I need this version because my hardware ain't supported anymore with NIDAQ 7!
The installation of NIDAQ 6.9.3 worked fine and my hardware ist recognised.
But in LVthe data acqusition vi are missing (AI input, output, digital,...)
What can I do to make them reappearing in the functions palette?
thanks for the help.

There is the option to copy/paste the libraries but I recommend you to uninstall and reinstall NI-DAQ. That's more secure. I don't remember exactly, but I think that you cannot select LV 7 on the feature tree, because LV 7 was not there when NI-DAQ 6.9.3 was released! So select the LV 6.1 support and change the target directory.
Steps:
1. Remove your board.
2. Uninstall NI-DAQ 6.9.3
3. Run NI-DAQ setup
4. Select the support files for LV 6.1
5. When you've selected LV 6.1 check on the bottom that the target directory is changed from ...\LabVIEW 6.1 to ...\LabVIEW 7.
6. Finish the setup.
7. Reinsert the board.

  • Transferring DAQ acquisition data via TCP/IP

Hi all. I am trying to write a program which shares the raw data acquired from a DAQ acquisition device to several computers at the same time. I am using a NI-USB DAQ 6251 to acquire 2 channels of data at 200kS/s on each channel. I need to send this data to other computers in a network so that the each computer can perform different functions on the signal.
Anyone who has done something similar before? Can you help to advice on how I can go about doing this efficiently and reliabily? I cannot afford the data to be lost during the transfer. I did try using shared variables but it did not work well.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi K.P,
I hope you are doing well today! The following links should help you get started. If you face any other issues, please be sure to let us know.

  • Configuring a DAQCard-6062E with NIDAQ 7.1.0f1 and an SC-2075

I have a DAQCard-6062E with NIDAQ 7.1.0f1 and the SC-2075 accessory does not appear in as an option in the properties panel for the DAQCard-6062E in MAX. How do I solve this? Thanks in advance.

I believe the answer is -- you don't need to do anything.
The accessories that are in the list in NI-DAQ for particular cards are usually accessories which have some type of external input that NI-DAQ can use, i.e. a cold junction compensation reference for a thermocouple.
The SC-2075 is just a breadboard and terminal block so you can get at the DAQ card pins easily, so there's really no reason NI-DAQ needs to know it's there. There's no functionality that it adds to NI-DAQ, so it doesn't need to be designated. It's just a means for you to access the card's pinouts.

  • Acquisition of an Asset with Negative value

    Hi Gurus,
How to do acquisition of an asset with negative value?
Please tell me the Tcode for doing this transaction.
    Please revert asap.
    Thank You

    Hi,
    The business scenario is.............
We have to charge some interest on asset last year but we have not charged it.
Now asset value is zero and if we charge interest on it, it will go to negative.
That's we are thinking to create new asset with negative value.
Hope this will help you understand.
    Please revert asap.

Time machine only copies User Info and Users (Applications, Library, and System are missing) from my quad core Mac Pro.  45 Gb of 162 Gb are missing.  Any one having success with time machine copying all folders using Mavericks?
What do I need to do differently?

The late, great Pondini was investigating that issue before he passed away.

I think there might be information there on how to reset Time Machine to do a full backup. I think you basically have to reset it and start over.

I recently updated my iPad and when I went back to read a book that I had purchased I'm getting error messages and whole chapters are missing.  I tried re-syncing with my mac book and nothing changed.  Any help to restore my book completely?

Try a system reset.  It's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If that doesn't work, you'll need to do a time-consuming "Restore."

  • DAQ card works with NIDAQ test panel but not with VB app/Component works

I am seeing this problem with 2 different DAQ cards. The card works fine with the NIDAQ test panel, but acts like the return lead is lifted with my VB app. The plotted signal appears to be little more than noise. Channel scan is internally triggered; that apparently works fine. The VB app is running in this configuration successfully in other areas, and I fixed this problem once by swapping cards. Currently, I lack a spare, as my "spare" is showing the same symptoms. Any helpful hints?
    Card type: AT-AI-16XE-10
    Configuration: Double-ended input, +/-10V range
    Running: VB6, NIDAQ 6.1, ComponentWorks Std. 2.0.1, Windows NT 4.0 SP5

I upgraded to NI-DAQ 6.8.1 (with patch), but no joy. The upgrade went smoothly, the card was recognized and I was able to set the resources without a problem. The test panel works fine looking at the actual signal on the target system: slowly varying DC between 0-5 V or so. My app works fine also, except that it behaves as though the A/D is not connected to anything: noise between .05-.1 V or so. I swapped DAQ cards between the test system and my development system. The problem appears to be in the test system, not on the card. Another test system, identical except for (now) the version of NI-DAQ, works fine. I'm stumped!
BTW, why are there 3 DMA channels listed in the configuration for this DAQ? Do all 3 need to be assigned? I've run some systems
for years with only the first 2 assigned.

  • Counter miss TELL pulses, NI DAQmx 9181 with NI 9402

    Hi,
I am trying to read TTL pulses from a function generator using a counter. I am applying a 1KHz signal to the counter. Every time counter reads the pulses correctly in first cycle of measurement, but it miss some counts in all following cycles.
I am using NI cDAQ 9181 Chassis and NI 9402 module with LabVIEW 2014 and NI Max 14.0.
My computer has Windows 8.1 operating system.
Please find the attached VI and images of Front Panel after run.
What could be the reason for that, please guide.

    1.  The Elapsed Time VI starts counting when you first call it, so the first loop will take about the desired amount of time (although OS timing is not very reliable anyway).  The Express VI will reset itself as soon as you hit the time target.  Then, you wrap back around and reconfigure your task.  This takes time (during which the DAQ task is not counting, but the Elapsed Time VI has already been reset), and so all subsequent acquisitions will actually run some time less.  For example, if the configuration took 100 ms and you wanted to acquire 1 second of data, you would only get ~90% of the count.
    2.  The time it takes to reconfigure the task is going to vary dramatically with the bus you are using due to latency (ethernet > USB > PCI/PCIe).  So it makes sense that the problem was not noticeable with PCI, and it was most severe with ethernet (9181) compared to USB (9171).
    3.  Discarding the first sample on buffered counter measurements is a behavior change with STC3-based DAQ products (e.g. X Series, C Series, 621x) compared to older NI DAQ products (e.g. E Series, M Series, 9172).  In your case, when you use the E Series card the first measurement represents the count measured between the arming of the task and the first edge of the gating counter (which toggles almost immediately, you are very unlikely to receive an external 1 kHz clock edge during this time).  Since this measurement is often not desired and can be confusing, it is discarded in the newer NI hardware.
Here is the behavior from the M Series and X Series user manuals (I know not your exact hardware, but I know that the diagrams are in these manuals and your E Series and cDAQ systems respectively will behave the same).

  • Using PCI-6503 on Win NT 4.0, with NIDAQ 6.8 or 6.9, in a C++ program I found the following DLL Initialization error..

"Initialization of the DLL C:\WINNT\System32\NIPALU.dll failed. The process is terminating abnormally"
The card tests OK with MAX2.0 and if I open the test panel first and then compile the exe, it works. So what exactly is the initialization Im missing but happens in MAX ?? While using PCI-6503 with Windows NT 4.0 SP6, and NI-DAQ 6.8.1 or 6.9, is there any initialization that a C++ program needs to do before trying to write to DIO lines ? I have a program in C++ which works fine (writes and reads the DIO lines from PCI-6503) IF I run it after opening the test panel for PCI-6503 in MAX 2.0. Otherwise it gives the following error..
    "DLL Initialization failed
Initialization of the dynamic link library C:\WINNT\System32\NIPALU.dll failed. The process is terminating abnormally."
The PCI-6503 tests OK using either NI-DAQ 6.8.1 or 6.9 and I can read write to the DIO lines using the MAX2.0's test panel. Also my program works fine if before compiling the code I open the test panel for PCI-6503 in MAX2.0, so I suspect there is some initialization Im missing in my program. Can someone educate me more on this. Thanks.

Are you using ComponentWorks++ or just the NI-DAQ C interface?

  • Multi channel continuous DAQ acquisition

Complete newbie question here. First time using Labview so I apologize for asking this question: Is it possible to have multi channel contiuous acquisition? If so, does this have to go through a circular buffer to prevent tying up all the computer memory? Can you vary the scan and read rates for each channel? Last question: If it is possible to do all of the above....how do you do it? I've attached a .pdf file with screen shots of my front panel and block diagram....it's extremely crude just trying to get some basic concepts down. Also if anyone can recommend some good books on actually doing the wiring and conditions of the various elements, I'd be extremely grateful. Currently I have "Labview for Everyone".

    Hello,
It is possible to have a multi channel continuous acquisition and it does use a circular buffer. Please check out the Continuous Waveform Acquisition Tutorial for more information about how this is done. With our DAQ devices you can use different sampling frequencies as long as they have a common divisor and the sampling rates remain within the device specifications. There is an example of that called Multi-Rate Continuous Analog Input.
The example finder is always a useful place to look for ideas on how to make a VI. In LabVIEW, go to Help->Find Examples and you will open up a browser that will allow you to look through many examples. You can also check out the LabVIEW Zone Learning Center where you can find a book listing under the fundamentals section.
    Hope this helps!

  • Windows 7 is compatible with NIDAQ or only with NIDAQmx?

Hellp? My CEO has a question about Windows 7 XP mode. He wonders if we can install NIDAQ driver in XP mode of Windows 7. But I think it won't work and you NI guys don't want to do so, because of your timeless efforts on NIDAQmx
If you have tested it already, let me know the result.

This is the wrong forum for that question. This forum is for asking questions about the actual forums, and not about products. The right forum would be the Multifunction DAQ, although I doubt you'll get an anwer since Windows 7 hasn't been released, and NI doesn't divulge information about compatibility with unreleased products, regardless of "how close" it is. Still worth a try, though.

  • How to setup multiple daq lists on a ecu with ecu mc toolkit?

Has anyone had the pleasure of setting up multiple DAQ lists on a ECU?
I am using ECU MC Addon for Labview 2011.  I can successfully setup a single DAQ list and read the data correctly.  This method uses DAQ list mode to initilize instead of polling, it really cuts down on CAN traffic.
    I dont have my VI on this PC but it basically is ECU Connect > ECU DAQ List Initilize (sets sample rate and channel list) > ECU Transmit DAQ List to ECU > Start DAQ List > LOOP{ ECU Read }
I need to create a second DAQ list to sample at a different speed.  Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Ben
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    My revised VI is:
... >  ECU Connect > ECU DAQ List Initilize (sets sample rate and channel list) > ECU DAQ List Initialize #2 (sets sample rate and channel list) > 2 Parallel Loops of ECU Read
The ECU DAQ Initialize or the ECU Read VI's appear to transmit the DAQ list to the ECM, so I removed those VIs.  The ECU appears to also start transmitting the channels without a need for the ECU DAQ Start.
FYI, the  "ECU Transmit DAQ List to ECU" was  "MC DAQ Start Stop .vi" with the mode set to "transmit daq list to ecu".
Its running great, I am able to run this on a cRIO & 985x or a USB-8473.  Now I am just working on setting up TDMS data logging.

  • Photos missing from iPhoto/TM backup but with a twist.....

So, there is a challenging twist associated with this case of missing photos and I hope an expert can provide some advice. Note: This is not related to upgrading from iPhoto '09 to '11 thank goodness!
Here is the story in condensed form, with additional details below:
MBP stolen but backed up with TM
Used TM on the replacement MBP to browse backup of iPhoto backup of stolen MBP
Restored iPhoto library to new MBP
Open iPhoto on new MBP and browse library
Everything looks OK except *FIVE* Events which show in the Event viewer as blank grey squares. However, the Events have the correct titles and show the correct number of pictures in brackets in the title. In addition, using the trackpad to scroll over the Event there are no thumbnails visible. If I click on the Event all the photos are greyed out but they do have the correct titles and keywords below the grey boxes. If I click on an individual photo I get a black exclamation mark in a grey circle. Interestingly the LAST IMPORT folder in iPhoto DOES show the thumbnails for ALL the missing pictures, all arrange with the correct Event titles. Of course, clicking on any individual picture gives me the same exclamation mark detailed above.
After reading these support forums I have tried the following:
    1) Viewed package contents ---> the blank Events DO NOT show up as folders in the Finder window
    2) Used COMMAND & OPTION to launch iPhoto and checked the following boxes in the REBUILD DIALOG BOX: rebuild small thumbnails/rebuild all of the photos' thumbnails/recover orphaned photos/examine and repair permissions ---> Issue persists
    3) Download iPhoto Manager and tried EXTRACTING all the photos from the library --> Photos from missing events still not showing up. Not really surprising given that the VIEW PKG. CONTENTS in #1 above didn't show them either.
    4) Used iPhoto Manager to REBUILD LIBRARY --> still doesn't show them
    5) Used TM to browse the backup directly --> missing photos have blank placeholders only.
It appears for what ever reason the photos have been deleted from the backup. I say "deleted", as opposed to "not backup up", because iPhoto has the remnants of the photos (i.e, Events, thumbnails, titles, keyword, etc.). Any suggestions on how to possibly recover these missing pictures. How about the thumbnail versions at least, even in their their low resolution form. Although, I admit I don't know how/where thumbnails are dealt with in iPhoto as they don't seem to show up in the Library package contents.
    Additional info:
OSX 10.7.5, iPhoto '09 is version 8.1.2, and iPhoto library is 75GB, 139 Events, 28,000 pics
The day before the MBP was stolen I downloaded a number of photos and did some editing. That night plugged the MBP in and noticed that the Time Machine did a number of backups through the night, although the iPhoto library seems untouched but can't be sure. The following morning, the computer was used for a few hours and thus had plenty of time to complete any backups necessary.
The *FIVE* Events that are affected seem to be the most recent ones, worked on the night before the MBP was stolen.

I cannot say for certian but it is highly likley that YES, when the person finished editing they just closed the lid of the computer and didn't actually quit iPhoto. So would this explain why there are fragmenst of them in the backup (i.e. Events, keywords, thumbnails, etc.) but not the actual image files? Any way I can at least save the extremely low res thumbnail versions?
I'm also going to try Data Rescue on the camera memory card to try and recover them that way.
    Thanks.
