Using PCI-6503 on Win NT 4.0, with NIDAQ 6.8 or 6.9, in a C++ program I found the following DLL Initialization error..

The card tests OK with MAX2.0 and if I open the test panel first and then compile the exe, it works. So what exactly is the initialization Im missing but happens in MAX ?? While using PCI-6503 with Windows NT 4.0 SP6, and NI-DAQ 6.8.1 or 6.9, is there any initialization that a C++ program needs to do before trying to write to DIO lines ? I have a program in C++ which works fine (writes and reads the DIO lines from PCI-6503) IF I run it after opening the test panel for PCI-6503 in MAX 2.0. Otherwise it gives the following error..
"DLL Initialization failed

The PCI-6503 tests OK using either NI-DAQ 6.8.1 or 6.9 and I can read write to the DIO lines using the MAX2.0's test panel. Also my program works fine if before compiling the code I open the test panel for PCI-6503 in MAX2.0, so I suspect there is some initialization Im missing in my program. Can someone educate me more on this. Thanks.
Are you using ComponentWorks++ or just the NI-DAQ C interface?

I have Photoshop CS3 which I have used successfully for a number of years. I now shoot pics with a Nikon DSLR D7100. When I try to open NEF files the following flag appears: "Could not complete your request because PS does not recognize this file". What do I need to do to open my NEF files?? Thanks.

FYI, the file is a photographic panorama based on several .CR2 photos taken in July, 2012 and processed in CS5's camera RAW/Photoshop. Beyond the metadata, here are no fonts or text in the file.
1. I changed Maximize ...File Capability from "Never" to "Always" and the flattened file saved and loaded OK, though I can't figure why given Adobe's description of this option. "If you work with PSD and PSB files in older versions of Photoshop or applications that don’t support layers, you can add a flattened version of the image to the saved file...". The file saved in this manner is ~8% larger and is not my preference as a routine since I've TB's of photo files. By the way, out of thousands of .psd/.psb files, the one being discussed is the first to give me the error.
2. I've tried saving/reloading the file on another computer with Win XP Sp3/CS5...again with Maximize Capability OFF. Same problem. Turn ON Maximize Capability and it works. As with the Win 8 machine, Bridge could neither create a thumbnail or read Metadata.
3. I've purged the Bridge Cache, made sure there were no old PS page files, reset PS preferences, and disabled my 2 plugins with no change in the problem. Windows and Adobe progs are all updated. Saving to a different HDD has no effect.
The problem occurs on 2 computers (Win XP/Win 8), two versioins of Photoshop (CS5/CS6), and "Maximize" On/Off togles the problem. My guess it is a bug in PSD processing routines.
If I can't find a fix, will keep with Maximize ON and deal with the larger files that result...the cost of insurance, I suppose.

I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard version in Windows 8.1 and when I try to create a .pdf file, I receive the following error message "Acrobat could not open "file name.log" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged. To create a PDF document, go to the source application then print the document to .pdf" I am going to the source application and printing the document to .pdf yet it's saving the file as a .log file. After reinstalling the software, I initially didn't encounter this problem but on my second and third attempts to convert files to .pdf format, this error message reappeared. How do I resolve this problem?
I have a similar problem which i did not have before...and it exists only in some powerpoint files which i want to print as a pdf file...and i get the same message as above.

I am programmer and I am using dr java on my mac-book pro with retina display but dr java doesn't support retina display, what is the possible way to solve this ?
I have made some progress.... I can print wirelessly from my printer now, but I can't set the printer itself to be wireless. I had to move my printer downstairs to where my router is...which is not that convient. I printed up the page you asked about....and as expected, it says it is off line and there is no IP address. So now I need to figure out how to make my printer itself wireless. I did download the HP driver I needed...but I can't access it to do anything else. It seems l like I am missing a step... or I need to hook up my computer itself to the printer to help get the printer to be wirelss, but I can't hook it up because there is no port for me to do that (no port that looks like a phone jack). I am guessing I would need a different type of cord, but I am not sure what kind of cord that would be! Ugh!

Using Windows 8.1 and copying large files over USB 3.0 to Segate hard drive - I get the following error:-

Need an enable/disable Labview VI for SC-2062 relay board using PCI-6503 DAQ Card.
I am using Labview 6i, and I need to write an enable/disable VI that will enable and disable 6 of the 8 relays at any time while keeping the whole vi running. Therefore one or more positions may be changed at a time, but positions that don't change cannot be interrupted when changing others (no port resets allowed). I was wanting to maybe send a 1 by 6 array of some sort out but I can't figure out how to use the array to communicate with the DAQ card, relay board and SC-2051 adaptor. There also needs to be error handling in and out. Thanks for your help. Any examples would be very helpful.

The best way to go about that is to disable the data points correspondent to the channels you want to disable. Meaning that you can ignore the datapoints of the channels you want to disable on the fly. That is the only way to disable channels on the fly.

I have a nook and have been using it for almost 8 months to borrow books from the library. Normally, as soon as I plug in my nook, the nook icon pops up on the desktop and digital editions recognizes the nook. All of sudden the nook icon is missing and If I try to unplug from the computer, it says it was not disconnect properly. Any ideas? Is something hidden or what?

Are you trying to print or to save the doc? Whether you have a working printer or not is really immaterial. If you're trying to print, then File > Print > PDF > Save as PDF…. If the resulting PDF is small enough (<5MB, though my preference is <1MB), e-mail it to your pal. If it's too big, transfer it using a chat programme or a file service (MediaFire, RapidShare, etc).

I've put in both ADP's information, and what I believe (could be very wrong) to be apple mail's information, and either/neither/nothing seems to work!

I have followed the "usual" way to build a pooled VDI desktop using Win7 or Win8 with success, but it fails when I use an image of Win Server 2012 as VM instead.
Am I overlooking something? Should I need to prepare the image in a different way? (Sysprep differently?)

Can you specify the error which you are facing during VDI setup for server 2012?
I might think that you need to check the memory setting for server 2012, as might happens that due to less memory you can’t setup the VDI setup properly.
Memory: If the Master VM is configured with static memory, it must have at least 1024 MB as startup RAM. If the Master VM is configured with dynamic memory, the maximum RAM must be at least 1024 MB.

Any way around this? I want to use PSE 13 on a workstation that will be permanently offline. I spent hours with Adobe support and they suggested deleting a file called
opm.db in the following location
[System drive]:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
and then rename the oobe folder to new oobe folder
But then our chat session automatically terminated and that's as far as I got.

X-Fi Titanium PCI-Express: Are there Cracking & Popping issues with Battlefield 2 & 214
Ok, now Creative came out with X-Fi Titanium PCI-Express, which supposedly should fix the cracking and popping issues with Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 232 since Creative technical support said the probelm with X-Fi and Battlefield series lied in PCI bus. Now the new audio card is using PCI-E bus. So does anyone with X-Fi Titanium still hearing the cracking and popping sounds when artillery fires?
RB30, Do you also have the problem with your onboard audio?
I can only give you my experience and that is that the new titanium works in my set up and I do not have any popping issues in BF242. There are lots of hassles installing the drivers as detailed in other posts. Plus they treat the drivers like they are the crown jewels and do not have them for download on the web site.
The sound seems to be better than my onboard audio. Objects closer seem close and objects far away seem far away. I had an XtremeMusic card but I took it out since a problem always seemed to develop.
I did not see any noticable increase in performance but that may be due to the fact that the performance in my system seems to be video card limited and not cpu limited.
The EAX simulated 3D sound is excellent in BF242.
Here are my system specs. I could not tell if you have Vista 64 or 32. My system is 64 and it works.

I lost an xcel doc a couple of days ago. Tried to find the Library folder in Users but not there when I use Finder (even when I do shift-command-G). But when trying to upload a photo in iphoto I found the library folder in Users. I can see my doc in Office 2011 Autorecovery, but can't access it! How do I get User to show Library then I can get to my long lost document?
The auto recovery dat should be in the Microsoft User Data folder in your documents folder, not in the Library. However, I Haven't had to look recently.

Connect NI PCI-6602 with NI PCI-6503

I want to connect a NI PCI-6602 Counter/Timer with the NI PCI-6503 DIO-Card. The problem is the varying number of pins. (6602->68 pins; 6503 -> 50 pins). Is there a possibility to connect both? Maybe a complete adapter?

You are correct both cards have male connectors. You could still use the 68M-50F connector if you use a 68-68 cable. Or if you had a 68F-50M then you would need a 50 pin cable. I have found another option, the R6850-D1 Cable(part number 777419-01) . This is a digital cable that was made to use our 68 pin digital devices with 50 pin breakout boxes. It ties the ground lines together and you also loose access to PFI 37,the up/down pin for counter 0, and you loose the +5V line. I think you may want to check the pin mappings to make sure that you really want to connect these 2 boards directly together. When using a 50 pin conversion with the 6602 you will get the following pin mapping:

You will loose half of the cards functionality since half the pins (even numbered pins) will be connected to ground on the 6503. It would be easy for you to short lines to ground this way. It would probably be better if you get a breakout box for each card (SCB-50 and SCB-68) and then connect only the lines you want to share between the cards. So in answer to your question, yes you CAN connect then directly together, but do so with caution, and I do not feel this direct connection is the best solution for y
