Missing Desktop app icon - how do I get them back ?
I was trying to clean-up my desktop by moving icons into a new folder which I created on the desktop. Only problem is, when I click the folder, the icons aren't there. So where are they ?

Here are the steps I did from the desktop:
1) Menu | Add Folder
2) Navigate to an icon - Menu | Move
3) drag and drop icon into new folder
4) Icon dissapears from the desktop.....but the freaking icon is not in the Folder so its now missing.
This is very common when creating a folder. It happened to me the first time I made one. Cathlabnurse is correct.

U must have synced with your library on your laptop thereby erasing the school apps , the only way to get them back on is by taking it back to school and get them to reinstall them back on using there library.

Hi Deanne,
When you deleted the apps, did you also empty the trash bin. IF NOT, It could be possible to move the apps back from the trash bin to your applications folder and your done. Otherwise do you possibly have a backup of your computer on time machine or other 3rd party backup software?
If you don't have a backup and you emptied your trash bin, the simplest way to reinstall is to use the reinstall disc and then run all the updates again.

You can go to spotlight by swiping your finger to the right on the home screen and enter Settings in the search box. Tap on the application, tap on General, scroll down and tap on Reset, then Reset Home Screen.

Try going to file-devices-restore from backup, if you dont have a backup then you may redownload past purchases (movies, music, apps, etc) from their respective stores by visiting "purchased" section.

You still double-click the home button to open the multitasking bar, but with iOS 7 you now drag or swipe the app 'screen' up and off the top of the screen :

By upgrading to IOS5 I have lost about half of my apps, especially my book library, Solitaire and many others. How do I get them back? Must I download them all ,again? It doesn't seem to work
If you do have to download them again, at least you won't be charged twice. But first try syncing apps in your iTunes library. If they are not there, you can also try restoring your phone from a backup and see if that contains your data. Let me know if you need more info on either of these methods.

When updating my iphone 4 for the first time I seem tohave lost all of my apps and the data on my apps. One of these apps was a camera and all of my photos are gone!! After updating my iPhone 4S with ios6, it seems I have lost over half the Applications from the Home Screen, including Settings, Safari, Camera, Photos and more plus all the original downloaded Applications. Can anyone help please?
The built in apps can't be deleted. If you want them reset back to their original arrangement on your screen, go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. If your purchased apps are missing, either sync them back to your phone with iTunes or redownload them for free (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).

i think i deleted it when i had v1.08. i thought under 2.0, it would do a full install, but it did not.
