Missing Orion.jar file when running bc4j-ojsp.zip installation

Hi
I've run into a problem with installing the BC4J runtime kit
once it's unpact and I try to run the bat file it's complaing
that it cannot find the orion.jar file, when i search the c
drive there is no orion.jar file either
anyone got any ideas and or the orion.jar file and some
instructions about where it needs to go ?

Malcolm

The orion.jar file is placed in the ?\j2ee\home directory. If it
is not there reinstall and/or re-download the oc4j.zip file and
unzip again.

  • Accessing files from jar file when running application?

    I have an application that when run should read an xml file (test.xml) from a jar file located in a resource folder. I do this:
        File f = null;

    //      f = new File(url.toURI());
        } catch (Exception e) {
          throw new GeneratorException("Preload input not found!");
        }The file is found in the jar but when I want to use it I get problems:
    when doing:
    f = new File(url.getPath());
    this file is not found and when doing:
    f = new File(url.toURI());

    Is there now way to convert the xml file in the jar file to a File object?

    java.io.File refers to physical files in the sense that the operating system uses it. It can't refer to Files on remote machines, it can't refer to "files" stored in .ZIP files and it can't refer to some random String that you construct.
    Usually when you think you need a File object in Java, you don't actually need it. There are only a handful of operations that you can do with a File object that can't be done with a URL as well (deleting, renaming are two that come to my mind). Reading from it and writing to it works with a File as well as with an URL.

    You're absolutely right. For some reason orion.jar isn't in that distribution. However there should be an oc4j.jar file in there, which behaves exactly as the orion.jar file would. So, any place in the documentation where it refers to orion.jar, just substitute oc4j.jar.

    I can not get a .jar file to run on XP SP3 start/run/cmd/
    Please help if can figure this out. I'm convinced it is a Windows XP SP3 problem from searching on google and seeing other ppl on XP SP3 with same problem (but no working solution for myself). I'll try to be complete-listing all I've done.
    I had installed: Java SE Runtime Environment v6u14 for Windows Multi-language
    I had checked here it was working properly: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
    I'm trying to run this jar file (soht-client-0.6.2.jar):

    Taggert77_: I have never used NetBeans. I only installed it in the bundle as I had read on another post that somehow installing the bundle magically helped another user with the same problem (he didn't know why it worked after that either).
    Before XP SP3 I was able to execute .jar file through cmd prompt. Now I am not.
    This file is executable, grab it and you will see. Here is a screen shot (program in front is FlashFXP, behind is the cmd prompt and what should happen):http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/53273b4ddf.jpg
    swmtgoetx_: I only did the other cmd's to try to make it spit out something, anything lol :D
    The proper cmd is simply: java -jar soht-client-0.6.2.jar
    I did give your cmd a try, and it produced nothing :( (just like the other correct cmds)
    java -client -jar soht-client-0.6.2.jar soht.properties
    Thank you again...the mystery remains
    PS. If you do a search for this you'll find an amazing amount of XP SP3 users with the same problem and no solution posted that I could find except one chap that did the unistall install order that I did above).

  • Missing webservices jar files in 9.0.2

    Hi,
    I am trying to deploy webserivces using stateless java class on oc4j version 9.0.2 but i do not have appropriate jar files. Only following jars are installed.
    %OC4J_INSTALL%\j2ee\home\WebServicesAssembler.jar
    %OC4J_INSTALL%\j2ee\home\WebServicesHtmlXmlWizard.jar
    %OC4J_INSTALL%\j2ee\home\wsdl2ejb.jar
    %OC4J_INSTALL%\soap\lib\wsdl.jar
    The environment is windows 2000.
    How can I get appropriate jar files to enable webservices on my installation of oc4j version 9.0.2.0.1
    Thanks
    Salman

    Could you elaborate on what you are missing? On a default OC4J install, downloadable here on OTN, everything is there ... I can point out what you need to locate but am not sure what you see missing or what error messages are leading you to not find classes.
    For example, the soap.jar is normally in the <oc4j_home>\soap\lib\ directory. In the <oc4j_home>\lib and <oc4j_home>\jlib there are also other supporting jars.
    Thanks.

  • Using JAR file in running application and POI !

    Hi all

    java -classpath C:\POI\poi-2.0-RC2-20040102.jar MyApp
    pauseI am not able to run my application with this run.bat file . If I change the content to:
    "java MyApp.java"
    It runs but give me error: NOClassDefFoundError:import org.apache.poi.hssf.usermodel.HSSFWorkbook
    Pls suggest me about how to use jar file in running my app and how to rresolve workbook finding problem.
    Reagrds

    Try this:
    java -classpath .;C:\POI\poi-2.0-RC2-20040102.jar MyApp
    pauseNote the "dot semi-colon" at the start of the CLASSPATH. That puts the current directory in the CLASSPATH, which is where MyApp.class lives. (No package, right?)
    See if that works better.

  • Missing Sub VI error when running Application.exe in development PC

    Hi,
    I have created an application(exe) on my computer, which is also where I have also designed the different blocks of code for this application.
    All the blocks of code work just fine when made to run through Labview 2013 development software. After adding all the VI files associated with the  project in the project explorer of a new project and configuring the build specifications, I was able to create the executable. But, when I try running this executable/application(.exe) file, I get the missing subVI message. I found that some of these missing sub VIs are the Instrument driver VIs which work absolutely fine when run through the LabVIEW development sofware.
    How can I resolve this issue?
    Attachment "Error Screenshot" shows the Missing sub VI message.
    Attachment "Project & Error Screenshot" shows the Missing sub VI message along with the list of dependencies in the project, which shows the error being displayed eventhough the sub VI is present in the dependency list.
    Any comments in this regard are highly appreciated.

Ideally, labview must be able to find/trace atleast these VIs while performing the build procedure, right?
    Vivek
    If they are (Non dynamically called)-dependancies of always included dynamic calls, Yes, the build will include them.
    I hate to say it but,  Start with the rs dynamic vis  and keep adding if that meerely helps reduce the list of the missing vis.

    When updating itunes the new installation said I was missing mscrv80.dll file.  I've reinstalled but still doesn't work.  How can it be repaired?

    Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
    Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
    The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

  • How to load .jar files when not specified in the .jnlp file

    Hello,
    We are deploying an application with JWS but due to the nature of this app, we need to download additional jar file only when the user has been authenticated. The jar file(s) we need to download can hardly be predicted (in term of name) and thus cannot be all listed as lazzy resource in the .jnlp file.
    However, we would like to take advantage of the various JWS features relateed to .jar download and cache and would prefer not to reinvent the wheel by implementing our on stuff (i.e. URLClassLoader with caching etc.).
    Any idea, suggestion?
    Thanks in advance.
    Fred.

    How about writing a second jnlp file with the optional jar listed in it and running it only if your user is authenticated?

  • Help with creating jar file and running it ?

    Hey guys,
    I have a program with a package called classes and a sub-package called classes.mainLib.
    I am trying to create a JAR file of the class files in mainLib. There is only one class file in classes and that contains the main method. So this is what i am doing:
    1. create a manifest file with: Main-Class: classes.Cars
    2. from within the mainLib directory (./program_name/classes/mainLib/) i do this:
    jar cvf mainLib.jar manifest ./*.class
    3. Then i move this jar file to ./program_name/lib and change directory to ./program name/
    4. try to do this: java -jar ./lib/mainLib.jar
    But it errors with:
    gary@linuxbox:~/java/cars$ java -jar ./lib/mainLib.jar
    Failed to load Main-Class manifest attribute from
    ./lib/mainLib.jar
    Any ideas why this is happening. the manifest is included in the jar'ing
    Thanks.

    At a glance, it looks like you are placing only the
    class files in the jar and trying to navigate your
    classpath to run it. Instead, you have to place ALL
    the package folders into the jar from the root of
    your package hierarchy and the jar runs anywhere, in
    any folder. The packages are INSIDE the jar.
    also I see cars/classes in a path you describe ...and
    the program seems to wnat classes/Cars ??? Could
    this be an additional issue (or am I missing seeing
    something about your package structure)?Firstly, i believe all my spelling and cases are correct.
    I have the following strcuture:
    Cars.class (contains main) : package classes in ./classes directory
    All other classes : package classes.mainLib in ./classes/mainLib
    I would like to jar ALL files in mainLib but not the class that contains the main method. Is this possible?
    I'm not sure how clear i was earlier, hope this is more understandable.

  • Missing vi.lib files in Run-Time LabVIEW 2012

    Hi
    I've got a problem executing VI's under RT in LabVIEW 2012.
    Our system consist of multiple independent modules which are opened and run from a Manager VI. VI paths to the modules are read from an .ini file by the Manager VI.
    We have build a single executable (RT Launcher) that takes the path of the Manager VI as argument (Attachment : RT Launcher.png).
    The RT Launcher is placed in the ..\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012 folder as the LabVIEW.exe.
    The RT Launcher is called from the CLI.
    "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\RT Launcher.exe" "C:\Workspace\Labview\Manager.vi"
    This will run the Manager.vi in the RunTime Environment and the Manager.vi will open the .ini file and execute the Module VI's one by one.
    By calling the RT Launcher.exe from the same folder as the LabVIEW.exe, the search paths should be the same.
    The system worked fine in LabVIEW 2010.
    The Manager VI is opened with broken arrow and the errors indicate that vi.lib sub VIs are missing (attachment : Manager VI errors.png)
    I know there are issues regarding object cache and separated compiled code from LV2010 -> LV2011 -> LV2012, but simply can't figure out how to come around this problem.
    Can anyone explain the difference and how to solve the problem ?

    Hi Kahr.
    It sounds like you are making some dynamic calls to VI's, eg. by using 'Open VI Reference'. My answer is based on that assumption.
    You are absolutely right. In LabVIEW2010 we introduced a function called 'Separating Compiled Code from VI'. At that time none of the VIs from VI.lib had that option enabled. In LabVIEW2011, many VI's in VI.lib have, by default, a separation of compiled code and VI. This option cannot be changed (greyed out) for these VI's as well. This feature was introduced in order to simplify source code control.
    Separating Compiled Code from VIs and Other File Types
    The drawback is, that it is no longer possible to call VI's dynamically from an application (executable), when this option in enabled, since the compiled code no longer exists. The method of calling a VI dynamically from an application has been (and still is) used to make some kind of a plug-and-play architecture, meaning we have one EXE-file that only gets distributed once and a set of subVI's that gets redistributed according to new versions (new features added to the subVI), meaning we can make changes in the subVI without having to redistribute the EXE-file.
    With the release of LabVIEW2011 and LabVIEW2012 we can no longer distribute VI's that uses functions from vi.lib, this also include DAQmx calls even though the DAQmx driver is installed.
    The simple explaining is, that it has never been intended that VI's got distributed. Eg, when Microsoft is making a new software update for Windows7, they don't send out the source code to all the users.
    The solution is therefore to wrap up the source code into 'something' that includes all the compiled files. In LabVIEW we do that in a couple of different ways.
    1) Include the VI's in the EXE-file.
    When building the application, we have the option to include files, that normally is not included in builds. If we call a SubVI dynamically this will not automatically be included! However, the drawback of this method is, that if you need to change  something in one of your SubVI's, you would need to build and distribute the entire application. Thereby, we are not making use of the plug-and-play architecture that we originally wanted. However, this method will fix the error.
    Error 1003 When Using VI Server in a LabVIEW Application
    2) Now, if we still want the plug-and-play architecture in LabVIEW2011+2012 (and this will properly be the same for the next many released of LabVIEW), this can still easily be achieved by making a Source Distribution. When we make a Source Distribution, we can include the VI's from VI.lib and thereby the compiled code. When using this method, two important things should be remembered:
    a) Make the files into a LLB file. This will pack all the VI's into one single file, that is easy to distribute.
    Go to Destinations ==> Destination Type ==> LLB.
    b) Make sure not to 'Exclude files from vi.lib', as this method will then simply not work.
    Go to Additional Exclusions ==> Remove checker mark in 'Exclude files from vi.lib'.
    How Can I Call a VI Dynamically from an Executable Without Including Those VIs in the Build?
    I have made a small example to demonstrate this:
    Example: Using vi.lib
    This example has two mainVIs and two EXE-applications. Build the two EXE-files, but do NOT build the source distribution yet.
    1) Main(IncludeSubInExE). This version has included the subVI in the build distribution for the EXE-file. When running this EXE everything works fine, even when calling the subVI dynamically. However, since the subVI is build into the exe, we would have to redistribute the exe for every new version of the subVI. This breaks the hole idea.
    2) Main. The subVI is no longer included in the build. When running and trying to call the subVI, you will get this error (on both your developer and run-time machine):
    Now, build the Source Distribution and run this EXE again. The exe is running perfectly with no errors.
    I hope this answers your question.

  • Access JAR File while running App with Java Web Start

    Hello guys,
    I want to delpoy my application so that I can run it when I click on the appropriate button in a web page.
    I have a Jar file for all the files that the app needs. No, not all of the files are included.
    Indeed, I use JAR files such jdom.jar or postgres...jar that I must use in within my application.
    How can I access these JAR files knowing that I can't point to files in a JAR file A from within a JAR file B, if the JAR file B contains the JAR file A?
    The main JAR file that I put on the web server can be seen as the JAR file B and the other JAR files must be stored somewhere for the java classes within the main JAR file to have access to them.
    I wonder whether there is another way to structure the project.
    Thanks.

    Hi Andrew.
    I have followed your suggestions and here is what my .jnlp file look like:
    <tt>
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <jnlp spec="1.0+" codebase="http://localhost:8080/koedops" href="beta.jnlp">
         <information>
              <title>KOEDOPS</title>
              <vendor>Pr. Fischer</vendor>
              <homepage href="http://localhost:8080/" />
              <description>Downloading koedops with Java Web Start</description>
         </information>
         <resources>
              <j2se version="1.6+" />
              <jar href="beta.jar" main="true"/>
              <jar href="jcalendar-1.3.3.jar" />
              <jar href="jdom.jar" />
              <jar href="postgresql-8.4-701.jdbc4.jar" />
         </resources>
         <application-desc main-class="general.Application" />
    </jnlp>
    </tt>
    The three other jar-files reside in the same directory as the .jnlp file and the beta.jar file on the tomcat server.
    When I launch the application though nothing happens upon the download. In contrast, if I change the main class to a class file that requires no extra library, it runs perfectly.
    I can't be sure whether the jar-files are successfully accessed.
    Regards.

    Hello,
    the *.jar file thing is a common problem in Java. One simple solution to the problem is by saving the *.jar file in the C:\j2sdk1.4.0\jre\lib\ext\ folder. This directory is an extension to the regular java files and by doing this, java will look in this directory if you import some other files not included in the java package. This does not work if you are using JBuilder, couse JBuilder installs its own jsdk, which is uses, probably under the JBuilder folder.

  • How do I get a jar file to run directly?

    I got it to work, as in the jar file runs fine from the command thing. However, I tried getting an html file to run it, but it just wasn't working.
    This may be because I only had it incorporate the applet, and there ARE other classes, but I really don't know any html and I wouldn't know how to include those. Also, I don't know if it's an issue, but I don't think it's very plausible to have the applet both display things (my program has a GUI of sorts) and have the main method at the same time, given my program structure.
    What can I do? Are there other ways besides creating an html document to run an applet? Is there a way I could include my other classes if that's the problem? I'd really like for it to be able to run in an internet browser- otherwise, my program probably won't reach as many people.
