MissingResourceException on portlet internationlization

Hello
I'd like to provide my portlet in different languages.
I followed the article 'How to Build a Multi Language Java Portlet using PDK-Java v2'. So I wrote all the Java classes (MyProviderBundle, MyProviderBundle_fr, a renderer, ...) and deployed the whole thing as usual to my standalone oc4j instance. When I finally want to run this portlet from the portal I get a 'java.util.MissingResourceException' on the standalone oc4j-instance:
java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find bundle for base name MyProviderBundle, locale fr
What do I wrong? Is there something missing?
Thank you for your help!
Chrigel

The MissingResourceException is thrown by the ResourceBundle.getBundle() method. It indicates that your resource bundle classes cannot be located.
Make sure you include the package name of your resource files:
ResourceBundle myResources = ResourceBundle.getBundle("myportlets.resources.MyResources", currentLocale);Also, you may want to double-check that the resource files are present in the EAR file.

  • resource-bundle tag of portlet.xml

    Hi.
    I'd like to use resource bundle. Therefore I add following tags inside <portlet> tag of portlet.xml and create 'testprofile.properties' file.
    <resource-bundle>testprofile</resource-bundle>
    But when I start tomcat, the error occured like following.

    So I modified portlet.xml like following and try to start tomcat again.
    <resource-bundle>testprofile.properties</resource-bundle>
    Tomcat can be started successfully.
    But when I display the portlet, error occured.
    java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find resource for bundle com.plumtree.portlet.util.PortletResourceBundle, key LogLevel at java.util.ResourceBundle.getObject(ResourceBundle.java:314) at java.util.ResourceBundle.getString(ResourceBundle.java:274) at portlet.TWNewMailPortlet.init(TWNewMailPortlet.java:45) at com.plumtree.portlet.servlet.BaseServlet.init(BaseServlet.java:522) at com.plumtree.portlet.servlet.PortletServlet.service(PortletServlet.java:136)
    The properties file 'testprofile.properties' is not loaded successfully, maybe.
    Do you know how to specify or use ResouceBundle in using Plumtree JSR168?
    The tips of source code is following
    In Portlet class which extends GenericPortlet
    public void init(PortletConfig config) throws PortletException {  super.init(config);  PortletLogger.init("Test", getPortletContext());  ResourceBundle rb = getResourceBundle(Locale.getDefault());  for (Enumeration e = rb.getKeys(); e.hasMoreElements(); ) {   String str = (String)e.nextElement();   System.out.println(str);  } String level = rb.getString("LogLevel"); PortletLogger.setLevel(level); }

    Are you naming your resource bundles something like:
    1. messages_en.properties (for English)
    2. messages_de.properties (for German)
    and so on.
    Also, do you include these properties files in your final deployment package, because if they're not there then the messages won't be displayed.

    I created a Java Portlet (JSR 168) and am adding it to my portal.

    Fyi, I realize this is an old post, but this problem is usually caused by someone removing a portlet from the <i>portlet.xml</i> file, and the desktop still refers to the portlet.<br><br>
    Use the DomainAdmin tool to remove the offending "RSSPortlet_1" from the contents of your page/book, that should solve this problem.<br><br>

  • Can't find bundle for base name Error - Portlet Localization

  • How to Get Portlet Namespace in a JSP attribute

    Hi All,
    The id of any component in a JSF application (with JSR168 portlets) takes the form
    'view'+'<portlet:namespace/>'+':'+'formname:componentidname';
    I need this id to be used for certain validations.
    Currently I am using it as below :-
    <h:intputText required="#{ ! empty param['viewns_7_CGAH47L000NAF0I04I42ND10P7_:form:login']}"/>
    Presently I have hardcoded the portlet namespace 'ns_7_CGAH47L000NAF0I04I42ND10P7_' by looking into the html source of the rendered page.
    Is there any way by which i can automatically get this portlet namespace within the param tag in the jsp.
    I know for a fact that within javascript tags, it can be used as <portlet:namespace/> as shown below :-
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function doSomething()
    buttonId= 'view' + '<portlet:namespace/>'+':'+'formName:buttonId';
    document.getElementById(buttonId).disabled = true;
    </script>
    Kindly treat this on high priority.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Darshan Shroff

    Perhaps so.
    I need to use it within param as below
    <h:inputText value="#{bean.userid}"
    required="#{!empty param['viewns_7_CGAH47L00GLRE0I0BCOUKS00I5_:form:login']}" />
    Here 'viewns_7_CGAH47L00GLRE0I0BCOUKS00I5_:form:login' is actually
    'view' + '<portlet:namespace/>'+':'+'formName:buttonId';
    I am just trying to check the presence of the client ID in the request paramameter map inorder to attain action dependent requiredness.
    Kindly tell me how i could access it within param.

  • How to get security roles in a JSF portlet

    I need to get the LDAP user-roles available in the Sun Portal Server 7 in my JSF-168 portlet.
    I've added the mapping file, updated the portlet.xml and web.xml, deployed the portlet (psconsole). But the portlet shows the "content not available" error with javax....title title.
    I've probably messed up the descriptors, but I don't see what is wrong. Here they are:

    1) there are no spaces between my project names
    2) I have also removed all unused producers from the mds folder in jdev.
    I feel that the MDS folder is not getting included while deploying , not sure.
    I am deploying the webcenter to a standalone WLS
    Can any one help me in this

    Hi Yannick,
    Thanks!!
    I was able to resolve it, actually there was a datasource mds-owsm which was being referred in my webcenter application and it was not targeted to the managed server where I was deploying the app, So once I added the target to include this managed server, the portlet was getting identified and getting consumed in my application.
    Quick question here I need to integrated BI presentation service in my webcenter, what will be the best way to do it and go about it?I had found an artcile in oracle docs but it is not working for me.Please suggest some better ways of doing this integration.
    Thanks for your help!!!

  • Display SAP R/3 table in a portlet with the SAP Adapter

    Hello everybody!
    I still can`t figure out the whole pictue of Bea Weblogic`s SAP Adapter.
    I installed the SAP Adapter (BEA_SAP_1_0_70.ear) and the Applicaton Explorer,
    made an Application View with the generated XML-Schema and the Template example
    in the WL Integration Studio. So what`s next??? (I want to make a portlet which
    displays a table from a BAPI request.) Any help would be helpful!
    Thanks 4 answering !
    Kind regards,
    uggar

    Hi Simon,
    Thanks for your inputs.
    Why the amount is changed in display mode only for WRBTR and not for DMBTR as both are of CURR datatype and created using same domain. I fail to understand any logic behind this.
    I have even created a ABAP report on this table which displys fields DMBTR and WRBTR, and in the report output following values are displayed.
    DMBTR 100.05
    WRBTR 100.05

  • Report Portlets do not refresh data.

    How can I refresh a report portlet?
    I have created a report and a forms provider based on the same table. I put the portlets on separate TABS on the same PAGE. The report works fine, but when I update the information on the form and return to the report it does not reflect the changes. I have pressed 'refresh', I have gone to another page and come back, no luck. The only way to see the changes is to log out and back in again. Any ideas?
    Thanks, Deb

    I had caching turned off. When I turned on both content and page definition, I was unable to query my forms. The forms and reports are on the same page, different tabs. When I select cache page definition only, I get the same results as no caching. The forms will query my data, I can update, but when I return to the reports TAB, the data has not changed. (Yes, I did click refresh.) I have found that if I click the 'Customize' link on the portlet containing the report and then click 'OK' the data will update. This, however gives me a new error that I will worry about later. For now, the users have 'Minimize' but do not have the 'Customize' Link and the 'minimize' link does not refresh the data, nor give me the new error.

  • Unable to pass the parameter to other portlet

    Hi,
    I am trying to pass the parameter from one portlet to other portlet using the convention below...
    Example say you have two reports on a page dept and employee. You want to refresh employee report by clicking on
    the dept in the department report in the same page.
    (1) Create the first report based on the query
    SELECT htf.anchor('http://domain/servlet/page?&_pageid=97&_dad=portal_dad&_schema=portal_schema&_mode=3&dept_code='||DEPTNO,DEPTNO) Department,
    dname FROM scott.dept;
    (2) Create a 2nd report
    select * from EMP where DEPTNO = :dept_code
    (3) In the the additional pl/sql code section before display page on the 2nd report do this
    portal30.wwv_name_value.replace_value(
    l_arg_names, l_arg_values,
    p_reference_path||'.dept_code',portal30.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2(nvl(get_value('dept_code'),10)));
    (4) Created a page and added these reports as portlets.
    In point (4) I am not getting the value of selected deptno in 'dept_code'. It is always taking the default value as '10'...
    I like to have the quick solution for this so that I can show the demo to my client...
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Ali,
    We can add parameterized queries to any TableAdapter (and controls to accept parameter values and execute the query) using the
    Search Criteria Builder Dialog Box.
    For detail information, please refer to the following article to create a Windows Form to Search Data:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hbsty6z7.aspx
    In addition, this issue is more related to Windows Form. I would suggest open a new thread in Windows Form forum if you have any more qestions:

  • Unable to bind portlet parameter with page parameter in webcenter portal

    Hi All,
    I am trying to bind portlet parameter with the page parameter so that I can ahieve some business requirements.
    Here is what I did,
    In my Portlet producer application:
    1) Created standards based portlet (jsr 286) with view.jspx and edit.jspx with rest of the things being default.
    2) In my portlet.xml created two parameters and assigned these parameters to the portlet created above.
    3) In the view.jspx added couple of output label adf components in the page.
    4) deployed this to integrated weblogic server.
    In my WC portal application:
    Created a new page and added the portlet to this page( WSRP connection already exists).
    deployed portal application on integrated server.
    In the edit mode of the page I added one page parameter(Param1) and some default (constant) value added.
    What I want is this:
    when Param1 value is One display first output label and
    when Param1 value is Two display second output label.
    I am using jdev 11.1.1.5.0 with integrated weblogic server.

    There is no need to use page parameters for this.
    You also have two types of parameters depending on what you want...
    1) Preferences: these parameters can be used on a user based level. This means that users can personalize the portlets. When a user change the value of a preference, it is only applied for that specific user
    2) Public parameters: these parameters are used to customize the portlet. The value you set in these parameter apply for all users.
    I have made a simple example to show these two differences: http://www.yonaweb.be/PortletTest.zip
    The portlet has 4 inputText on it. The first two can be set by specifying One or Two into the preference.
    The other 2 inputText uses the value of the public parameter.
    You should only deploy the portlet and consume it in a webcenter application. In the webcenter application, you don't need to do anything special. All is done in the portlet.
    I am guessing you don't have written the code that will get the value of the parameter:
    in case of a preference you will get the value by following code:
       PortletRequest request = (PortletRequest)FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequest();
       PortletPreferences preferences = request.getPreferences();
       return preferences.getValue("outputparam", "One");In case of a public parameter (for customization instead of personalization) you use following code to retreive the value of a public parameter:
    PortletRequest req = (PortletRequest)FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequest();
      String param = (String)req.getParameter("PublicParam");
      if(param == null)
          return "Three";
      return param;This code can also be found in the sample portlet application.
