MM17 mass change

Hi Experts,
I was doing Mass change in MM17 for Profit Center value. Old value need to change with new value.
I followed the below process:
1.Go to transation MM17
2.Select Variant name for Mass Change
3.Select MARA/MARC in the tab Tables & Execute
4.Input the materials & plants which under goes changes & Execute.
5.You will get two section of screens.In the top you can see New values with empty field.you can give the new value for Mass change. In the bottom you get the details of existing field for material/plant combination.
6.Click the icon called 'Carry out mass changes'.
7.Save and check the log for any errors.
The value of Profit center was changed & I checked in CDHDR & CDPOS tables.
Can any one of you give me the flow or tell the above process is correct.

Hi Experts,
We are unable to change the commission group in Sales 2 view in material master using the Mass change code MM17.

I just did a test in my system and the provision group was updated without any issue thru MM17.
Maybe you have a posting failure, check in SM13
try to update any other other field together with the provision group, this way you can at least find out if it is just the provision group that cannot be updated or you are not able to update anything with MM17.
if it does not work for any field, then search OSS notes, there might be a bug in the programs.
try to update one record directly in MM02 and see what happens.
had you checked the application log despite of having a green light, maybe there is more info for you.

Mass change-mm17-marc-mfrgr

Hi,
Experts please check the following issue we are experiencing.
We are trying to change/maintain one field marc-mfrgr through MM17, but the table is not getting updated.
While we are doing the same through MM02 in purchasing view it is getting updated.
After running MM17 following information log is comimg without any error message.
Trying to create: 403897 T001 ____ ____ __________ ____ __ ___ ___
The material cannot be maintained since no maintainable data transferred
Trying to change: 403897 T001 ____ ____ __________ ____ __ ___ ___
No changes made
Please how the changes can be done through MM17.

I feel the Purchasing view of material is not maintained properly for particular plant.
Request you extend the material to concern plant using MM01 and then try mass changes.

Mass change of account assignment group in sales order

Dear All.
We have created a new Account assigement group and assigned revenue accounts to it.When the orders are registered this data will flow from the master data automatically.Where as in the open orders i need to make the changes manually.Is there a provision in std SAP to Mass change a filed in sales order .Like we do in MM17 or XD99 .Kindly let me know.

Go to XD99,
1. Select the table ie KNVV in the tables tab, select the fields tab and select the fields u would like to change for eg Acct assignment group
2. Execute the report
3. U will come to the screen where u can restrict the entries.
Enter the criterion say
Cust: Test 1
Sales Org 8000
Dist 08
Div 08
4. Again press execute
5. Enter the new values you would like to have
6. Now select columns of the new values and press carry out mass maintainence button in the new values area
7. Press Save
8. u will then receive a success message

Mass change of material master

Hi Experts,
I have a query regarding mass change to be done in material master. I need to update one value in the Material group 4 field in sales org view 2 in MM02 transaction for nearly 300000 materials. One option i find is LSMW and the other i saw is transaction MM17. Please let me know how feasible is this MM17 transaction? Is it possible to upload all the 30000 materials through MM17 transaction in one go and update the field? Will there be any performance issue if MM17 transaction is used?
Please give your suggestion.

Use MM17,
Goto the Transaction code MM17 and in the table check the MVKE- sales org data for material
and select the Fields tab and choose the field MVKE-MVGR4 and execute
Now enter all the materials in the next screen for which you want to change and execute
In the next screen you can maintain the new values for the old

Mass changes of Material Master field with different values

Hi,
How to change a field in Material Master for more than thousand materials. I think MM17 can only be used for mass changes of materials with same values. I need to upload different values for different materials. Is there any other way to do this.

Create Material Master Views in mass-change

Dear All,
We have to add a additional view to the material master of some products.
Is this possible to do as a mass change (ex. MM17) or have we to do it with transaction SCAT/ MASS?
Do you know an other solution?

LSMW using standard SAP provided RMDATIND program- check with ABAPer - You can extend all views or you can pick and choose selected views.
or
BDC scripts - If u have only 1/2 views extended use this.
Mass change doesn't help.

Material Master Mass Change

PLease explain me abt the mass change of Material Master.. the detailed steps to be followed for the change
I know the tcode MM17, please explain the process in that transaction

You also have tcode MASS for more mass modification.
Use object type BUS1001 and generate. Then you have to know the tables where the field you want to modify is.
Pick the fields in their folder and generate again. Then in selection pick the materials or use other selection criteria. Generate again.
In the upper side of the screen insert the data and click the button 'carry out a mass change'.
Save and leave.

MM17 (Mass upload)

I want to upload the values to one of the fields in material master. I have 70,000 materials. Is this possible through MM17 (Mass upload) ?

in MM17.
you select your materials for a change.
Then you enter the new value in the fields above and click the distribute button, this way all your selected materials will get this value as new value for the chosen field.
alternative to a fix value in the field above your records you can click the formula button, this way you can create a small formula to calculate the new field value. E.g. you can add 1 to your maximum stock level, means if you had 10 as maximum stock level then you will get 11, but if you had 1 then you will get 2...
but this formula button allows you as well to add some ABAP coding.
this way I can select on any other table and can then determine the new value based on your own conditions.
e.g. you lookup EORD table (source list) and if you find an entry there, then you write 111 in field X , if you dont find a source list, then you write 222 in field X.

Mass change of MAP

I want to change moving avg price of say 500 materials, shall I use MM17 or any other option. Can u guide for the procedure using MM17. Also as standard price automatically gets updated in rhe system, shall I change rhe std price also if mat is maintained for moving avg price or it will be automaticaly updated? pls guide

I dont think, MAP will be changed by MM17.
You should create a LSMW of MR21 for mass change of MAP

Hello,
Can we do mass changes for material master. I need to delete some part of data in Sales text of the material,means i want to delete one text line out of 10 text lines. Is it possible or not.(may possible at mm17/MASS)

Mass change in In house Production Time in Material master

Hello Frinds,
I am dooing mass change in Inhouse Production time in material master By using MM17
field is MARC-DZEIT
i am putting Material ,Plant & in house Production time & after execution it shows following MSG.
No data meet the selection criteria
Message no. M&107
Where i m wrong weather my Varient is not created Properly ,Pour some light on it ,if i m wrong tell me the way of dooing mass change in ECC6.0 ,LSMW & DBC is next Option ,i want to do it with MM17

Dear Girish,
Goto MM17--->click on Fields tab page,select the field MARC-DZEIT and then clcik on execute button.
In the next screen,either input the material ,plant combination or else input the plant and click on
execute button.
Now enter the inhouse production time in the new values say 2 days,Either select the materials for
which this new change has to be made or else select all the list of materials and click on mass change
icon and check the results and save the datas.

At that time we didn't select the plant.
Now we would like to extend the material to a plant.At present the materials are not assigned to any particular plant.
now i would like to do the mass change of materials in to the particular plant.

Sorry for my input. I agree with manipal, you can not extend the material for plants in MM17. Try with LSMW in create mode for material master and extend it for the plants. This is better option.

Hi,
When I am doing mass change of reorder point through MM17 tcode selecting MARC table,it will chnage at plant level and getting reflected in material master once I save changes.
But I need it at storage location level.I tried to do this through MM17 tcode selecting MARD table,which will ask for storage location data(i.e storage location level).But after I save the changes,changes are not getting reflected in Display material-MRP1 view.
Can anyone pls suggest why this is happening.
