MMAP Variable for Forms Under AS 10.1.2

Earlier versions of the Oracle Application Server support an environmental variable in the .env file to control whether forms code is cached or reloaded for each request. The variable name is version specific (ie: FORMS90_MMAP=0). To modify forms code without restarting the OC4J, the server application environment must be set to reload for each request. Is this setting possible under Application Server 10.1.2? If so, where can I get the specifics?
Thanks

Not realizing Oracle had changed from 0 and 1 to False and True, when setting up my Forms 10.1.2.0.1 environment, I set mine to 0, and it worked.
In my Windows XP environment, the variable can be set in either of two places:
In the registry, under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / ORACLE / KEY_DevSuiteHome1,
I created a new key, FORMS_MMAP, and set its value to zero.
But I preferred using the default.env file stored at:
<Forms10 Home>\forms\server\default.env
In my environment, <Forms10 Home> is C:\ORA_DS_101202\DevSuiteHome_1\
In the default.env file, I just created a new line with:
FORMS_MMAP=False
and now I can recompile forms that I am currently running in a test session.

    Hello Howard,
    Check out the following link here you can find your desired NLS parameters.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/globalization/htdocs/nls_lang%20faq.htm
    And about the NLS_LANG for developer why you want to create for developer. Its is already there in REGISTRY. Just seaching in developer registry you can find there.
    how do I set more than 1 at a time.
    You can set only one NLS_LANG parameter at a time.

  • Using path variable to CI under transaction file for DBTABLOG archiving

    Hello Colleagues,
    I have to configure DBTABLOG archiving among others under transaction file.
    Here you have to configure archive path to the filesystem.
    E.g.this is the path to the development system:
    DEV23015\Interfaces\Outbound\Archiving_IDOCs\<FILENAME>
    It's clear, for test as well production we are using different hostname.
    So the consideration was to use a respective variable for the server system.
    E.g.
    <HOST>\Interfaces\Outbound\Archiving_IDOCs\<FILENAME>
    But now the problem, we are using CI (centra instnace) and application server for test as well as production and the archiving path respectively the archiving folder are only configured at CI server.
    So the HOST variable is not sufficient in this case.
    The variable SAPGLOBALHOST pointing directly to the CI server but not possible to configure under TC file.
    Any idea which variable possible and pointing direct to CI server?
    Or is the only possibility for pointing direct to CI server for archiving to use the HOST variable and modify the archiving job to run only on CI server?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Jochen

    You have two options...
    First one is to mount that path into all your instances
    Second is to use a Server Group Name under Cross-Archiving Object Customizing -> Technical Settings to force that particular object jobs to run on your CI.

  • CF Set form.variable for query and Next/Previous pages error

    I have a CF form with a select that posts to a CF "action" page.
    On the action page I: CFSET ItemNumber=#form.ItemNumber#
    I CFOUTPUT the 'ItemNumber' into the CFQUERY (which is an Inner Join dependant on the '#ItemNumber#')...
    All of the above works just fine and displays the database fields in color alternating rows, per the rest of the code.
    Here's the problem:
    I'm displaying 40 rows on a page per "Next and Previous" code. (CFPARAM name="start" default="1" and CFPARAM name="disp" default="40" along with the rest of the NextN code in the header and body). This does display 40 rows on the page and puts a link at the bottom of the page "Next 40 Rows", etc.
    Note: I'm only querying the database once and using the query (query name="data") to populate the table rows And the NextN code (CFOUTPUT name="data") And (CFIF start + disp GREATER THAN data.RecordCount, etc)...
    The problem happens when you click the "Next 40 Rows" link to display the 2nd page of rows. Since (I'm assuming) this NextN code is 're-reading' the same page from top to bottom, an error is thrown when the code tries to read the CFSET ItemNumber=#form.ItemNumber# at the top of the page.
    With the #form.ItemNumber# on this action page Originally coming from the previous posting of the form to this action page, when the "Next 40 Rows" link is clicked and the NextN code re-reads this action page - the CFSET ItemNumber (#form.ItemNumber) is not getting populated and throws the error...
    I hope I've not made this sound confusing.
    I can get the NextN code to work when I'm just querying the database without "flying in" a form variable. But when I CFSET a variable (#form.ItemNumber#) that is inserted into the query, the second page of the NextN throws an error and doesn't display.
    I would include the page code here but it would be fairly lengthy and, as well, the NextN code is a 'standard' CF code -- I've narrowed the problem down to the above "Element is undefined" (when the page tries to reload from the "Next 40 Rows" link) and am hoping there's a simple fix or another way to display the records in Next and Previous pages.
    Thanks to anyone in advance for shedding light on this.
    - e

    Thank you for the reply, Owain.
    Yes - The Next/Previous at the bottom of the page are hyperlinks.
    <a href="ThisPage.cfm?start=#Evaluate("start + disp")#">
    The following is at the top of the page (and is the variable from the form that I CFOUTPUT in the query):
    <cfparam name="ItemNumberDropdown01" default="">
    <cfset ItemNumber = #form.ItemNumberDropdown01#>
    The error report showed that the "Next Page" hyperlink was reading an undefined variable... although when the "action page" first opens from the form posting to it, it populates the CFSET just fine (per the cfparam and cfset above)... As you mention, the hyperlink clearing the form scope is what causes the error in trying to display the next set of records...
    The form page and the 'action page' are both secure pages with an application page setting the session, etc. Am I at risk in using an URL scope?
    Where would this URL scope be put? (The href is shown above - would the URL scope go in this? - How would this be written?)
    The CFPARAM and CFSET would still exist at the top of the 'action page' and still throw an error wouldn't it or would this be replaced with something else to read the form.variable for this 'first' action page to be displayed?
    Thanks again for the 'education' on this...

  • How to define variable for smart form in coding

    hi all,
    i have to create a variable for smart form which is i already created in  smart form but facing some sort of difficulties.
    for example:
    DATA:  formname  TYPE ZCCCL_GOODS_RECEIPT.(SMART FORM NAME)
    DATA:  formname  TYPE ZCCL_RETURN_VENDOR. (SMART FORM NAME)
    DATA:  formname   TYPE ZCCL_GOODS_RESERVATION.(SMART FORM NAME)
    CASE in_mseg-bwart.
      WHEN '101' or '105' or '321'.
      formname = 'FORM_RECEIPT'.
      WHEN '122' or '124'.
      formname = 'FORM_RETURN_VENDOR'.
      WHEN '201' or '261'.
      formname = 'FORM_GOODS_RESERVATION'.
    ENDCASE.
    So this the logic im using but it gave me error like:
    Type  ZCCCL_GOODS_RECEIPT is unknown.
    Kindly tell me if this coding is wrong than what should i use.
    Thanks.

    Declare variable name for smartform as

  • File-Adapter: Variable substitution form payload XML-attribute

    Hi experts,
    is possible to use XML-attribute-content for variable substitution in file-Adapter?
    extract from XML:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    - <all>
    - <transaction <b>file="filename"</b>>
    - <table name="BPAADDRESS" options="insertIfUpdateFails">

      <hkeycol name="USAGE">Invoice</hkeycol>
      </transaction>
    I want to get the value "filename" = attribute file of transaction.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks a lot,
    Florian

    I have done this taking a field from the XML.
    You have to map the location of the field within the XML...
    Taken from:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/bc/bb79d6061007419a081e58cbeaaf28/frameset.htm
    Variable Substitution (Target Directory/File Name Scheme)
    If you set the Enable indicator, you can enter variables for the Target Directory and File Name Scheme. Enter the names of the variables and references in the table.
    &#9679;      Enter each variable that you reference in the Target Directory and File Name Scheme fields without the surrounding percentage sign under Name of Variables in the table.
    The variables can refer to attributes of the message header or elements of the message payload.
    &#9675;       If the variables are to refer to an attribute of the message header, add the prefix message: to the name of the variable under Reference. You can specify the following attributes of the message header:
    sender_party, sender_service, receiver_party, receiver_service, interface_name, interface_namespace,
    message_id (message ID with hyphens, for example 9fbe1ff1-9a0d-11d9-8665-cbf10a126331)
    message_id_hex (message ID in hexadecimal format, for example 9fbe1ff19a0d11d98665cbf10a126331)
    For example, if you want to specify the interface name from the message header in the target directory or in the file name scheme, enter message:interface_name as the reference.
    If one of the message attributes contains characters that are not permitted in a file name, for example \, /, :, *, ?, ", <, >, |, then these characters are replaced by an underscore ("_").
    &#9675;       If the variable refers to an element in XML schema, add the prefix payload: to the information under Reference. The reference then comprises a pseudo path description in the form of a comma-separated list with the schema namea,na,nameb,nb,....
    namea,nameb,... corresponds to the element name and na,nb,... corresponds to the occurrence of the element name at the respective level in the document.
    The description begins at the root of the document and ends at the respective element.
    To reference the element that is in bold in the example, the following expression is used: payload:root,1,e1,1,e2,2
    The parser searches for the first occurrence of the root element at the first level. It then searches for the first occurrence of e1 at the second level and for the second occurrence of e2 at the third level. The content of the last element (“Example Value”) is set as the value for a specified variable.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <root>
      <dummy>
         <e1>
            <e2>Data_1</e2>
            <f/>
            <g attr="abc">text</g>
            <e2>Data_2</e2>
         </e1>
      </dummy>
      <e1>
         <e2>illegal/value</e2>
         <f/>
         <g attr="abc">text</g>
         <e2 attr="fghij">Example Value</e2>
      </e1>
    </root>
    &#9679;      To disable the check the adapter performs for the element data, set the Disable Security Checks indicator.
    Otherwise, the adapter checks whether the element data contains characters that could lead to security risks in the file system environment. The check includes the characters “/“, “\“, and “..“.

  • FieldLoop within TabPanel: HowTo pass loop variable to form within a Tab

    Dear all,
    I have a Tabbed User Form which contains a FieldLoop that creates Tabs based on the FieldLoop loop-variable.
    Each created Tab should include the same form which differs only by the value of the loop-variable.
    So I have a list of all my SAP systems, and want to create per SAP system a SAP User form that handles
    the specific SAP resource.
    In general this works, but it seems that only the first element of my list of SAP systems is passed through
    the underlying form.
    Here's an extract of the code I've wrote:
    ===[ FILE : MY TABBED USER FORM . XML ]========================================================
    <!-- define list of managed SAP systems / START -->
    <Field name='MANAGED_SAP_LIST'>
    <Display class='Text'>
    <Property name='title' value='MANAGED_SAP_LIST'/>
    </Display>
    <Default>
    <List>
    <String>SAP_XXX-AAA</String>
    <String>SAP_XXX-BBB</String>
    </List>
    </Default>
    </Field>
    <!-- define list of managed SAP systems / END -->
    <!-- main tabs / START -->
    <Field name='MainTabs'>

    <Field name='SAP_SYSTEM'>

         </Field>
              <!-- new TAB / END -->

    </Display>
    <Expansion>
    <ref>SAP_SYSTEM</ref>

    So currently I got 2 new tabs (as I defined 2 SAP systems) but the field "thisSAP" allways displays the first element of my list (i.e. SAP_XXX-AAA)
    Is there another way to pass a FieldLoop loop-variable to an underlying form ?
    many thanks in advance

    Hi,
    The parser does not under variables directly in dml statements.u need to form a statement and the parse and execute the same...
    so the soln is
    Declare
    lv_stmt varchar2(250);
    Begin
    lv_stmt := 'Delete from '&#0124; &#0124;ls_prev_table;
    execute immediate lv_stmt;
    -- Same is the case with the insert stmt--
    End;
    This should solve ur problem.
    u could also give a direct call like
    execute immediate 'Delete from '&#0124; &#0124;ls_prev_table ;
    Note: This statement "execute immediate" holds good for oracle versions 8.x and above which makes the stmt very simple. For lower version u need to use the dbms_sql package to parse and execute the statement which has a series of statements for the same.

  • Pb with compiling form under unix

    Hi
    I tried to compile a form under unix. I got an error saying that it can't find a function which is in a PL SQL library .
    All the Pll's files and the Fmb's are in the same directory. I put this directory in the forms_path ( default.env) but still got the same error
    Is there any configuration file that I should set ?
    Thanks

    the default-env setting is only relevant for the runtime. For compile-time, you should set the environment-variable FORMS_PATH and export it.

  • How do I create an automator variable for a path that includes a date?

    I like to use Image Capture to scan documents into a hierarchy of folders under my ~/Documents directory that are organized by year and document type.  For example, I have
    ~/Documents/archives/2011
         /Misc
         /Utilities
    and
    ~/Documents/archives/2012
         /Misc
         /Utilities
    for archiving miscellaneous docs and utilities bills. Now, switching folders in Image Capture is annoying so I want to use the Automator support built into that app to direct the scanned images to ~/Documents/archives/<Current Year>/Misc or ~/Documents/archives/<Current Year>/Utilities.  I was able to do this with separate Automator workflows, each with a hard-coded path to the destination folder.  For example,
    What I would like to do is use an Automator variable to dynamically determine ~/Documents/archives/<Current Year>/Misc.  I see variables for Home, Documents, and Current Year.   However, when I try to create a new path variable it only lets me choose a full path to a Finder folder.  How do I combine Documents and Current Year variables with the "archives" and "Misc" folder names to create a new path variable?

    Well now, you went and made me learn something today.  In the Variables Library, under Utilities, is a variable named AppleScript.  You can put a small script into this that evaluates to your path, for example:
    ((((path to documents folder) as text) & "archives:" & (year of (current date)) as text) & ":Utilities") as alias
    If the script evaluates to a proper path, it can be used wherever any other path can - you can experiment by looking at the results of a Get Value of Variable action.

  • How to substitute a bind variable for a IN condition?

    Dynamically I am setting the WHERE condition for one of my blocks using SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY Built in. The condition that I am attaching has two IN conditons..
    For Eg.,
    contracts_tbl.status_col IN ('NEW', 'OLD', 'EXPIRED', 'OPEN')
    AND contracts_tbl.id_col IN (1, 2, 3, 4)
    The number of choices in the IN condition will vary depending upon the user choice in my screen. Because of this the parsed SQL state is could not be shared and multiple of these are getting created in shared pool. To avoid this I would like to use bind variables.
    There are two ways I am trying to do this..
    1. Generating one bind variable for each value. i.e.,
    contracts_tbl.status_cod IN (:global.var1, :global.var2,
    :global.var3)
    Now this could result it memory error if no. of choices exceeds the avilable memory. Also its a tedious task to purge the variables after querying the block. Also because of multiple IN conditions, the chances of different set of selections are possible and then again sharing will be minimal.
    2. The second method is to set the one bind variable for each IN condition. i.e.,
    :GLOBAL.Var1 := '( 'NEW', 'OLD', 'EXPIRED', 'OPEN' )';
    :GLOBAL.Var2 := '(1, 2, 3)';
    contracts_tbl.status_col IN :GLOBAL.Var1
    AND contracts_tbl.id_col IN :GLOBAL.Var2
    In this case, forms is not querying as the IN condition takes the global variable value as one string and the query returns no rows though there are plenty available for each status. Also any NUMBER type condtions erroring out as the , and ( are invalid numerals.
    Q: Is there anyway you can make this work? or Is there any other better method to substitute bind variables in place to avoid creating new set of statements for each query in the shared pool?
    Your suggestions and pointers are higly appreciated. Please respond immediately as this is a P1.
    Thanks,
    -- Raam.

    2. The second method is to set the one bind variable for each >>IN condition. i.e.,
    :GLOBAL.Var1 := '( 'NEW', 'OLD', 'EXPIRED', 'OPEN' )';
    :GLOBAL.Var2 := '(1, 2, 3)';
    contracts_tbl.status_col IN :GLOBAL.Var1
    AND contracts_tbl.id_col IN :GLOBAL.Var2 This method should work - not sure if you put exact syntax in or not but your first assignment would cause a problem as everywhere you want one ' mark you would have to put two so that it does not close your quoted string
    Try the following syntax:
    :GLOBAL.Var1 := '( ''NEW'', ''OLD'', ''EXPIRED'', ''OPEN'' )';
    :GLOBAL.Var2 := '(1, 2, 3)';
    SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY('blk name',
    default_where,
    'contracts_tbl.status_col IN ' || :GLOBAL.Var1
    || ' AND contracts_tbl.id_col IN ' ||
    :GLOBAL.Var2);
    Hope this helps,

  • How to create a global variable in forms 6i

    How to create a global variable in forms 6i

    :GLOBAL.my_var := 15; Well, this statement is not correct! Global variables
    stores a character string of up to 255 characters in
    length. Thus, valid statement for Khurram example
    is:
    :GLOBAL.my_var := TO_CHAR(15);
    or
    :GLOBAL.my_var := '15';
    But numeric values are implicitly converted by oracle so there's nothing in fact wrong with the statement...
    :GLOBAL.my_var := 15;

  • Error while opening Workbook:variables for characteristic cannot be process

    Hi all,
    When I try to open the workbook for a particular query, I am getting the following error. Kindly suggest me in rectifying this information message.
    "Variables for characteristic [ZDVCODE]Dealer code cannot be processed"
    Regards,
    Steve

    I am encountering a very similar warning, so this may shed some light on the matter.  I have a Web Application that runs just fine when it is filtered only by Calendar Day.  However, when I filter the Web Application by Calendar Day and Material Group both, then I get a warning at the top of the output that says "Variables for characteristic [0CALDAY]Calendar Day cannot be processed".
    So, at least in my case, the variable isn't deleted, and it actually works just fine buy will spit out this warning under these circumstances.

  • Creation of  Variable for Hierarchy Node

    Greetings...fellow matez,
       I am using Characteristic "0PROFIT_CTR" : PROFIT CENTER
       Here, I created used SAP <b>Standard</b> variable 0N_PCTR (Profit Center/Profit Center Hierarchy)
       This meets my requirement of allowing User to Input the TOP MOST Hierarchy Node basically means my Hierarchy.
       Now, what I need is the ability of a User Input/Key In Variable to ask for a specific Node of my Hierarchy instead of just the <b>'main'</b> hierarchy
      Let me demonstrate with an example :-
      At the moment, I have a variable defined for "0PROFIT_CTR". So, I am able to choose "XXX GROUP" as my hierarchy.
      Now, under this "XXX Group" I have several Sub-Nodes like XXX-Functional Groups ; XXX-Business Units; XXX-Subsidaries.
      How can I create a variable which prompts for this Subnodes of my hierarchy ?

    Matez,
      Issue remains unresolved.
      What I need is a <b>Hierarchy - NODE</b> variable for my "Profit and Loss" Hierarhy
      But, when I use the variable option in the 'Selecting Variable for Hierarchy' scree, I only get to choose my Hierarchy instead of my Hierarchy Node.
      How can I created a variable of type Hierarchy-NODE instead of Hierarchy for my characteristic "0Account"

  • How to set default .PDF file extension for Form Downloads

    I am trying to find a way of setting the PDF file extension when I download forms.
    I author the forms under a Plus subscription and am then downloading the forms under a basic subscription Collaborator account (diffrent person)
    If I don't include .pdf as the file type when downloading a form with a unique name as the Collaborator, it downloads without a file extension.
    Remembering to continually add the pdf file extension is a pain so I'm hoping there is away of setting this as a defaulet for my 'collaborator' account ?

    Firstly, apologies for multiple posts, I received messages saying my comment hadn't posted and also checked my history before re-submitting.
    Okay, the process is
    1. Log in as the Author account and I can rename the file without having to set the extension
    2. Log in as the Collaboartor account - same PC, browser etc and it doesn't save with a default file extension; HOWEVER, I have done this whilst also being logged in on a diffrent browser as the Author
    3 I have just tried logging out as Author and only being in as the collaborator and the form downloaded with a default PDF.
    4. I had someone else log in as the collaborator from thei PC and browser whilst I was still signed inunder my author account and again they were unable to save as PDF by default
    This has me wondering if there is anything at play when you've got multiple Users?
