MMP using wrong search base when doing LDAP query.

Hi all,
I installed a new MMP (sun java communication suite v5 on Redhat linux x86).
When an imap user connects to MMP, the MMP does an ldap query for attributes "MailHostAttrs mailHost".
This query fails because the search base is
SRCH base="dc=my,dc=domain,dc=com,o=my.domain.com"
instead of simply "o=my.domain.com"
When I ran 'configure' I specified the Organization DN to be o=my.domain.com
And I've specified the following in the ImapProxyAService.cfg file:
LdapUrl "ldap://ldap1.my.domain.com:389/o=my.domain.com"
UserGroupDN "o=my.domain.com"
DefaultDomain my.domain.com
So why does it use "dc=my,dc=domain,dc=com,o=my.domain.com"?
I must be missing something but I can't find it.

So in my case I have default:LdapUrl "ldap://server.aus.sun.com/dc=aus,dc=sun,dc=com" and default:DefaultDomain aus.sun.com
So you will probably find that you have a hosted domain configured under "dc=my,dc=domain,dc=com,o=my.domain.com" which got created during installation but not propagated with users.

Console hanging when doing LDAP query

Hi,
I am able to connect to a test LDAP server (that has 10 users) from WLS and am
able to see the users in Web interface of the Console under Security>realms>myRealm>users.
This works as desired. No problem.
But when I try to connect to an LDAP server that has 1900 users the console hangs
up and eventually times out. The query strings are all fine because I verified
them using an external LDAP browser.
I checked in MyTestServer>Monitoring>Performance and it is using only 25% of the
memory. So it is not a memory issue. Then I set the logging threshold to 'info'
but there are no special messages.
Now I am wondering where else should I look for to fix this. It works fine when
there are small number of users. But when there are large number of users, WebLogic
just hangs...

WLS build from BEA comes with SP1. This is what I am using at the moment. So I
am not sure what SP1 are you referring to!
The SP1 for Platform is yet to be released though. But this is more of a server
issue (I think). Also, I looked up in the 'known bugs' section. This is not listed
in there...

No,We can not use the portal or MDM as only for persisting of users.Generally Portal is nothing but its like a corporate portal designed based on the role performed by each employee,Its like umbrella for various applications integrated together.
MDM is used for normalization and Harmonizing the data also for synking the same single truth of data across the business.
They are not designed to just store user data.
Normally a LDAP server is used to store user info and EP is going to fetch the users from LDAP.
If you need you can use MDM to normalize the user data stored in other places like DB or LDAP server.

Your problem is most likely not related to iOS 6, but you should probably update anyway. Where does VCS get passwords from when doing LDAP authentication

I was wondering, if I were to configure VCS to do LDAP authentication while using an Active Directory as LDAP, which passwords would it be using? Will it authenticate against domain password or will I need to fill in a separate password attribute (which would be cleartext)?

Are you referring to user accounts (such as admin accounts that login to the VCS), or for devices (such as endpoints)?
If you're talking about authenticating user accounts, than it will use your AD username/password.

If you're talking about authenticating devices/endpoints, than it will use fields in your LDAP that are created by schemas that you download from the VCS and install to your LDAP directory.

Used wrong payment method when paying with PayPal account!

Hello, Okay so I bought tickets on StubHub and when it asked me how I would like to pay, I checked my PayPal account. But it never said which payment method from PayPal it would charge. I have my PayPal Credit as my default payment method so I assumed it would have been my PayPal Credit account that gets charged. But now I see that a hugh amount was debited out of my bank. I wanted to use my PayPal Credit account to pay because it's such a hugh amount. My question is; can I transfer the payment to my PayPal Credit account and get the money credited back to my bank account? I would like to pay incrementally and I can't afford to give up such a hugh amount all at once. I'm afraid I'll have to cancel the payment if I can't do that. Please help!!! Thanks!

ERROR MESSAGE WHEN DOING SIMPLE QUERY TO RETRIEVE LARGE AMOUNT OF DATA

Am querying my database(mysql) and displaying my data in a
DataGrid (Note that am using Flex 2.0)
It works fine when the amount of data populating the grid is
not much. But when I have large amount of data I get the following
error message and the grid is not populated.
ERROR 1

Help! no response when doing SIMPLE query!

I meet a strange problem when I do a SIMPLE query on a table in Oracle 8.1.7, just like:
SELECT id FROM person WHERE id='12345';
Most of id values are ok to the query, except some values.
Whether I use these values in sqlplus or JDBC, mostly, no response is returned!! And I find the session in Oracle always keeps the status 'Active'. But in few scenario I can get the result quickly.
I don't know the reason. Help me please!

I'm not sure if the 'id' column contains something else.
When I shutdown and restart the database, the problem seems to be "solved". If the problem reoccurs again, I will try to use xTRIM functions.

Can anyone tell me why I get these errors?

I am using 8.1.6 and the error number ORA-13236 doesn't appear to be documented. I have tried reindexing the spatial indexes but to no avail.

R-tree indexes were field test in 8.1.6. The error you are seeing doesn't look familiar in terms of fixes that were made for the first production ship in 8.1.7.
You should try upgrading, and it should be fine.

Certain LinkedIn functions are not working. Browser keeps on looping, for instance when using the search function

I go to LinkedIn and type in a name in the search box, for instance "Peter" and hit enter.
Normally, this will return with a list of people with the first name "Peter", listed according to degrees connectivity.
Instead the web site never loads the next page. It appears that it keeps loading the page over and over again, but with no result.
In the end I have to press back or use another browser (Safari) to load the page and use the search function.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
1. Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Command+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server. Any difference? If not...
2. Clear Firefox's Cache Completely
Edit > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
3. If needed, remove your linkedin.com cookies
While viewing a page on the site:
Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Remove each cookie then try reloading the page. You probably will need to log in again. Does that help?

Create multiple search bases in OAM

Hi,
can somebody please help me in resolving a issue with search base.
I want to create a search base so that the administrator or owner of a group can search only his group's unique members & manage them. I tried creating a search base(UserManager-->Search base) but doing so none of the users of OAM are not able to "view" their own profile which violates the basic requirements(viewing profile).

I'm not sure if the use of groups provides a solution to this requirement. One way to do it would be to define attribute access controls using a filter with substitution syntax. For example, you could have a filter for Modify access on a user's attributes defined like:
(&(o=$o$)(admin=true))
which means that anyone who has a value of the "o" attribute the same as the target user AND has a value of "true" for the admin attribute can write to those attributes. You can also add Self as a role so that users can view/modify their own attributes.
The above filter means that instead of defining group membership and group admin membership, you manipulate attribute values in users profiles to say whether or not a user is an admin, and which users they administer (all users which share the same value of the "o" attribute, in the above case).
Would something like this be an option?

What system and iPhoto version are you running?
If your're using iPhoto 9 or later Command (right) - click on the photo in the search window and select Show Event in the Contextual menu.
That will take you to the event where the photo is.

If there is an option to "license this software", and it takes you to a sign-in page with username and password (not a serial number) - then just go ahead and sign in.
If it insists on a serial number you need to uninstall the trial. Then try to download again.

Why, when using a search engine i.e. Google or Bing does Firefox 'hang' and not allow any input

When I use a search engine i.e. Google or Bing, the site and Firefox crashes or 'hangs' and does not allow any action to be taken. Even if the window has been closed, Firefox continues to run but cannot be seen by 'Task Manager' resulting in me having to restart my Laptop in order to use Firefox again.
Note: This only happens with Firefox, other browsers work fine with these sites.

I have had the same problem with google search engines and i found that if i disable the safe browsing plugin from bullguard that will cure the problem
