Mod_perl configuration

Hi,
I installed mod_perl, configured httpd.conf (added the "LoadModule perl-module modules/mod_perl.so" line) and now.. I don't know what to do.
I have a directory with an .htaccess file like this:
AddHandler perl-script .pl
PerlResponseHandler ModPerl::Registry
Options +ExecCGI
I try to access pl files and the server returns an Error 500.
What am I missing? How do I configure mod_perl in ArchLinux? I tried to google for explanations but whatever I try doesn't seem to work... Any help would be of great use! :)

Not sure if that can help but here is how I did it (as per http://perl.apache.org/docs/2.0/user/in … y_Scripts):
Alias /perl/ /home/httpd/httpd-2.0/perl/
<Location /perl/>
SetHandler perl-script
PerlResponseHandler ModPerl::Registry
PerlOptions +ParseHeaders
Options +ExecCGI
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Location>
Then the test script:
#!/usr/bin/perl
print "Content-type: text/plain\n\n";
print "mod_perl 2.0 rocks!\n";

  • Mod_perl installation problem

    I'm trying to install mod_perl 1.29 on my Mac OS X 1.4.4 with the default Apache and the Perl that comes with the default system. When i type
    perl MakeFile.pl
    it suppose to search and give me the src apache folder so it will configure mod_perl with it. but it cannot locate and i cannot locate it anywhere I looked either.
    any clues?

    Hi Alex,
       The source for Apache isn't shipped with Mac OS X. The source code can be found here: apache-683.

  • Compiling mod_perl for Solaris 10 ....  grrrrrr

    I've got a scenario where I need to run MySQL in a cluster, and the application requires curl be compiled into php. After chasing my tail for weeks trying to get things to play nicely together, I decided to just compile everything from scratch. I have several identical boxes (V125) that need the same software stack also, so rather than building each one manually, I'm attempting to build things as statically as possible so that I can just tar up the stack and distribute it to all the machines that way.
    apache 2.0.59
    php 5.2.0
    perl 5.8.8
    MySQL 5.0.27
    openssl 0.9.8d
    curl 7.15.5
    expat 2.0.0
    gettext 0.16.1
    libxml2 2.6.27
    libiconv 1.11
    readline 5.2
    zlib 1.2.3
    And several perl modules, including DBI/DBD for both Oracle and MySQL
    I used the gcc compiler and associated environment packages from Blastwave. In the end I had a virtually static setup (still relies on things from /lib which is fine by me), except for the php5 and mod_perl modules for apache. The php worked like a champ as a loadable, but apache dies when trying to load the perl module:
    Syntax error on line 233 of /opt/CA/apache2.0.59/conf/httpd.conf:
    Cannot load /opt/CA/apache2.0.59/modules/mod_perl.so into server: ld.so.1: httpd: fatal: relocation error: file /opt/CA/apache2.0.59/modules/mod_perl.so: symbol PL_markstack_ptr: referenced symbol not found
    I really don't know how to troubleshoot this any further. Any ideas or help would be appreciated. I will attach my compile strings below so you can see what I have done.

    Ok, I found my answer. Still don't know how to fix 1.37 itself, but turns out that the problem is fixed in 1.38, for anyone else with this issue.

    Hi All !
    For some reason I messed up my configuration and now I can't retrive the page

    I realize that the forum may not be for PORTAL configuration but is imperative for me to fix this

    I get the following error :

    Hi,
    It looks like that you don't have the DAD entry in the listener settings.
    In the listener folder of your oracle home you can find a file named as wdbsvr.app.
    Open this file and check for the DAD entry that you are using.
    It should have the valid password and the connect strings too. Just validate this file and restart yourwebdb listener.
    Hope this helps you.
    Cheers,
    Siva.

  • V9 + Apache + mod_perl = ???

    Anyone know how to enable mod_perl on the Apache that is included with Solaris/X96 V9? It looks like mod_perl is included, but I can't quite figure out how to enable it.
    I see the line:
    AddModule mod_perl.c
    In httpd.conf, but I don't see a corresponding line in the LoadModule section (I would expect a libexec/mod_perl.so).
    I'm not too familiar with the DSO stuff and typically I compile all the modules right in, so any help would be appreciated. I would like to use the Apache and setup that was shipped with V9 rather than downloading and compiling my own Apache. BTW, if anyone ever has to do d/l and configure from scratch, especially with complex apache/module configurations, check out:
    http://www.apachetoolbox.com/
    Very nice package that makes complex module/apache compilations a breeze.

    Vipul,
    You may want to take a look at the parameter passing sample in PDK-Java. This is more updated and meant to display the proper way to pass parameters. It also includes an article to make sure that you do it correctly.
    You can find this in the PDK at the PDK-Java Samples page.
    http://portalstudio.oracle.com/servlet/page?_pageid=414&_dad=ops&_schema=OPSTUDIO
    Click on M-R to view the Parameter passing sample. This sample/article explains how to create a parameter passing portlet.

    How can i chech my TNS connect string in PL/SQL?
    Thank everybody

    You need to test connnecting to the database using the SAME oracle home that you installed portal into.
    I find that although YOU can connect to the db, their can be occasions when portal can not connect to the db.
    So when you use the portal installation dir as your oracle home and connect to the db, hopefully more informative information will be shown to you.

  • Can't connect to DB via IAS and mod_perl

    We have Oracle 8.1.6 and IAS 1.0 installed (Unix). We can run perl CGI scripts to connect to database using DBI. But we have problems if we run the same script via mod_perl. The script stops after the call "DBI->connect('dns', 'user', 'psw')". DBI track level is set to 3.
    From the dbitrack.log file we have:
    DBI 1.14-nothread dispatch trace level set to 3
    Note: perl is running without the recommended perl -w option
    -> DBI->Apache::DBI::connect(dbi:Oracle:myConStr, myUser, ****)
    -> DBI->install_driver(Oracle) for perl=5.00503 pid=8286 ruid=1002 euid=1002
    No error reported in dbitrack.log and no error returned in the Web server's httds_error_log.
    We have another Web Server that is not part of the IAS. The same script works fine via mod_perl on this server. It can connect to database and return correct information.
    Anybody knows how to have DBI works via IAS and mod_perl?
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How do you get mod_perl to work with the bundled apache2?

    I have read a few reports on how to get DBD perl working and some people talk about compiling apache 2 and mod_perl, but I want the standard apache2 which is running smoothly with my php install to handle perl too.
    Can someon give me a list of commands and steps to do and run to get this working? I know php, a bit of C have compiled before but allways forget how it is done. I have no problems editing httpd.confs or php.inis so probably perl's configs and configure files won't be a problem. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the thought etresoft. I did not find it in the httpd.conf as an so module to be enabled, so I presumed it was nowhere to be found. But it seems it is in the /usr/libexec/apache2 folder just like all the other modules, find found it .
    I just added this to my httpd.conf and now it is working:
    LoadModule perl_module libexec/apache2/mod_perl.so
    Alias /perl/ /Library/WebServer/Documents/perl/
      <Location /perl/>
          SetHandler perl-script
          PerlResponseHandler ModPerl::Registry
          PerlOptions +ParseHeaders
          Options +ExecCGI
          Order allow,deny
          Allow from all
      </Location>
    I was stuck mentally it seems. Thanks for the bump.

  • Airport can no longer read or write the configuration of Time Capsule

    I have a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.8.3 and maintained with all available patches. I have also a Time Capsule with version 7.6.3 of the firmware. I use AirPort 6.2. So everything seems to be updated with the latest versions.
    This has really been a good setup for nearly a year now, but earlier this month Time Machine suddenly stopped to work and could no longer do backups to the Time Capsule. I have tried to factory reset the Time Capsule several times, but I still get problems when writing the configuration to the Time Capsule. I get an error message saying "An error occurred while updating the configuration".
    Airport is furthermore not able to detect the Time Capsule correctly anymore, so I have to configure it by entering the IP address. But after setting up WLAN, disks, etc. and enhanching the security, I just receive the error message when I try to write the config. The Internet connection works perfectly anyway, both via cable and wireless.
    Anyone got any tips?

    Do the setup by ethernet in full isolation from the network.
    Start from a full factory reset.
    I would recommend you take the firmware back to 7.6.1 or even earlier if the TC is older than 12months. 7.5.2 was very reliable. All these bugs started with 7.6 and the change to Lion.
    I would also recommend installing 5.6 utility.
    How to load 5.6 into ML.
    1. Download 5.6 for Lion.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
    Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
    2. Download and install unpkg.
    http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
    Run unpkg on the desktop.. it is very simple.. drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. drill down.. applications utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
    You cannot uninstall 6.1 (now 6.2 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. so just ignore the toyland version.. the plastic hammer.. and start using 5.6.. a real tool.
    For screen shots see this post.

  • Configuring requirement : ordered item to absorb cost of free goods

    Hello Friends,
    I need to configure this in SAP SD.
    The main item should accumulate the cost of the free goods.
    I have  set the cumulative indicator and deactivated pring for this item.
    Do i still need to configure the stock value for the free goods as cost free item? Or is this step only applicable for
    another scenario, like,
    If I were to activate Pricing such that free goods is displayed as subitem and VPRS configured as cost and discount set to 100%
    1. Set  Item category to TANN using FREE usage   AND
    2. use condition type RL00 with requirement 55.
    3. use pricing type B.
    regards
    Ravi

    Read this SAP help at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/dd/55fa4e545a11d1a7020000e829fd11/frameset.htm and the topic Free Goods in Sales and Distribution Processing for details.
    Also go through each step of the configuration of the path at SPRO->Sales and distribution->basic functions->free goods.

  • Partner application configuration is missing error on SSO login page

    We have APEX 3.1.2 setup as a partner application and an application within APEX setup to use SSO for authentication. Following a link to the APEX application redirects to the Single Sign-On page, as it should, but it also shows "Error: The partner application configuration is missing or expired." I type in my password and username, click the Login button, and (if I entered my username and password correctly, of course!) then the APEX application is shown. So, I cannot figure out why we're getting the no_papp_err error and I have not found any solutions to that issue on Metalink or anywhere else on the Internet. Any ideas? I'm concerned that we have a misconfiguration somewhere that is causing this error and will affect any other partner application we setup in the future.
    We're on Oracle Portal 10.1.4, SSO 10.1.2, and SSL is setup on both infra and mid tiers.

    Did you try checking the partner application entries on the SSO-login server page?
    please login as orcladmin or some other user with membership in, i beleive, iasadmins group. verify that for this partner application, what you see here corresponds to the application URL. it looks like your login page call may have issues. so check for login url too.
    also check the ORASSO.WWSSO_LS_CONFIGURATION_INFO$ for entries corresponding to Apex application.

  • SharePoint Foundation 2013 - Search Configuration Issue - 2 App Servers and 2 Front-End Servers

    Hi,
    We have a SharePoint Foundation 2013 with SP1 Environment.
    In that, we have 2 Front-End Servers and 2 App Servers. In the Front-End Servers, the Search Service is stopped and is in Disabled state and in the 2 App Servers in One App Server, Search is Online and in another Search is Starting but goes to Stopped sooon
    after.
    Originally, we had only 1 App Server and we were running our Search Service and Search Service Application in that. Now since the index location became full and we were unable to increase the drive there, we added one more App Server and now the issue is
    Search is not properly getting configured in either of these App servers. What we want to do is run Search only in the new App Server, because we have a lot of storage space for Index locations here, but in the older App Server, not run Search at all.  We
    tried keeping the Search Service disabled and ran the below PowerShell Scripts, but none of the ones are working. These scripts are creating the Search Service Application, but the error of "Admin Component is not Online", "Could not connect
    to the machine hosting SharePoint 2013 admin component" is coming up.

    Can I get some help please?
    Karthick S

    Hi Karthick,
    For your issue, could you provide the
    detail error message of ULS log  to determine the exact cause of the error?
    For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS
    For troubleshooting your issue,  you can try to run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard on your WFE servers and run the script for configuring the search service on SharePoint
    Foundation:
    [string]$farmAcct = "DOMAIN\service_Account"
    [string]$serviceAppName = "Search Service Application"

    Function ActivateAndConfigureSearchService
