Modification of Product

Dear all,
I would like to implement new process for the modification of exiting product which is already used by customer, They awarded contract for service. This process/project includes service of exiting product, procurement of new materials & replacement with old materials. pl. suggest a process flow so that we could inward a product upto billing.
Billing includes excise as well as sales tax.

That is actually rather simple: you use animation techniques, but rather than using an animation loop to change on a set interval, you change as you are ready to show your new screen. You do this with a repaint() request.
I usually like to implement this by doing my rendering to a BufferedImage, and then a paint override in my display object.

This is something SAP lacks, the possible changes you can track is for the System Status, and if OCM was Implemented few more changes can be tracked.

Variant configuration modification in production order in case of MTO

Dear all,
We use Make-To-Order production for a part of our business, and at the moment, when we try to modify the configuration in a MTO production order, we get the message CO 661 ("Characteristics values were copied - you can only modify"). The configuration is a copy of the configuration from the sales order item. This is confirmed by the instance number which is the same for both objects.
Some users would like to have the possibility to modify some characteristics directly in the production order. This would be usefull in case of multiple Work Order on the same sales order item.
According to the different documentations I found on this subject, it seems not possible to answer to this request from users. This is also the information I remember from the project realization phase.
But could you confirm me the information I found.
According to these documentations, it's only possible to change the configuration in the MTS production order, but not in the MTO production order.

In case of MTS, I confirm it's possible to modify the configuration in the production order.
In fact, in this case the production order is like the sales order in case of MTO : you have the configuration defined in the material master, and then you can do some modifications linked to the MTS to be done.
We work in that way in our system. I don't know enough this part to tell you the customizing done to have this possibility.
In case of MTO, the configuration can also be modified at the sales order item level, but then it seems it's blocked in the production order.
I'm looking for a confirmation of this point, to give an answer to business people.

CV03n modification in product structure

In CV03N Transaction we can see product structure.
There in the product tree, Source document is displyed.
Is there any way that we can stop the source document from appearing in the product structure?

You could also try FM PVSHI_PNCMP_READ.
Add the Node_ID to table componentnodedata. The table componentrelation will give you all the relationships (downward and upward).

Then what is the use of creating Bex query in development and transport it in quality and then to production if we can create directly in production ?

There is something called as SOX compliance..and three system landscape.
First of all you are not suppose to make changes to standard qeuries.
You can give it to the client a new copied query wirth required changes and it is very much accepted as well but how will it be tracked for future support.
Suppose there is a change in the underlying cube...this will affect all the queries and the new copied query which no one knows about will be affected too.How will you test it if its workinf fine with the new flow.
If you want to do the testing in production as well.... then you are not following SAP guidelines and may be you are violating the contract signed by you and your client.

Serialized ArrayList not updated

HI,
i encountered a strange problem..., i have an ArrayList which consists of a list of items (products), i serialized it.
Then, as my program is about selling and ordering of products, i have to change certain value such as product selling price, reduce quantity after each sale and so on. when i reduce quantity of a product, it works. but when i use a method listProducts() which lists all products including their remaining quantity, the quantity remains the same!
Why is that so? i managed to reduce the quantity when a sale is done! How come when i check back at my ArrayList, it is not updated? I saved the ArrayList each time a change is made. I also did modification to product selling price and etc and they do not cause such problem......
my ArrayList is not updated until i turn off the program and run it again.
hope someone could point out what mistakes i have made.....really wish i could put up all my codes but they are too long....
If anyone knows what's wrong plz tell me...

Modifying a precanned RBAC management role

I'm trying to revert a precanned management role "Mailbox Import Export" to the default out-of-the-box state. Some time ago, someone removed a handful of parameters and entries from it.
When I try to just add them back I get an error "The precanned management role "Mailbox Import Export" can't be modified."
I understand that it's not normally done, and some people think its not possible to do. But someone figured out how to remove entries in the past -- now I have to figure out how to put them back.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Also, is it possible to modify assigned management roles? This role is already a member of a group & has some assignments. If possible, I'd like to modify it in-place.

Everything is stored in AD so ADSIEdit will be your friend but it's not recommended (or probably supported too) to modify this via raw AD editors...
Configuration -> Services -> Microsoft Exchange -> YourExOrgName -> RBAC -> Roles -> Mailbox Import Export -> msExchRoleEntries is the attribute with proper formatted values...
I strongly recommend you to test this in a Test environment first and take backup of AD before doing any modification in production environment...

My question is that how system determines to use VBR general modification?

You can view the G/L accounts in GBB posting
In SPRO --> MM --> Valuation and account assignment --> Account Determination w/o wizard --> Configure Automatic Postings. Cancel the Intial Screen.
Click the Simulation button in the Application tool bar
Select the Options --> Simulation --> Application Area --> IM
--> Input Mode --> Material Number
--> Account Check --> Check of Referenced G/L Account
Enter the Plant and Material and a Movement Type - 201 for example
Select a Movement transaction and check the Account Assignment button to view the G/L accounts.

Rockbox support

Hi everybody,
I was wondering where to write for requesting Apple to support rockbox project.
My friends have just gave me as a present an ipod nano 3rd gen but it's quite hard to use it cause of my music library: 11000 ogg & flac files.
I knew that rockbox supported those files but I discovered that rockbox developers can't build a version for ipods nano (2nd 3rd and 4th gen) because the firmware (or something like that) is crypted!
I think that apple wouldn't loose any income giving to rockbox guys the information they need! Ipod nano is a really nice player but the software is not that powerful (I won't list here all the function of rockbox...but I can assure you that there are really precious ones)
Finally I have seen in ipod nano copyright that the software uses a lot of opensource software! I think that, if you make use of it you should at least support it!
What do you think about this?
Where could I ask for support?

Dude... There is no chance in the world that apple will support a group that modifies their products! To them its like destroying their art, their work! They would never go for this! I am sorry but it just wont happen. It ***** but it just wont happen. But dont worry RockBox wont quit.

Restore standard cost center hierarchy

Hi All,
A user modified the standard cost center hierarchy in productive system. Later I modified it in development system and transported this new version by a change request to productive system. I used the transaction OKE6 to include 'standard hierarchy', 'cost centers' and 'cost center groups' in the chnage request. When the change request was transported to productive system it deleted the modifications done by the user, it means some cost centers with cost allocations were deleted. We need to recover that version(the one with user modifications in productive system), do you know how can we do that?.

i Excute the code a few times,the Runtime is about 2,300,000 microseconds, that is about 2 seconds

should i create a index for vbfa using vbeln posnn and vbtyp_v?

Actually there is no delivered index on VBFA with key VBELN and POSNN (*), but primary keys start with VBELV and POSNV. So preceeding document is used to search for the subsequent document.
You could create an index BUT there are usually other solutions, depending on actual type of documents, you shoud access an other table, replacing a wrong SELECT vbelv FROM vbfa WHERE vbeln with either
SELECT vgbel FROM lips WHERE vbeln
SELECT vgbel FROM vbrp WHERE vbeln
SELECT aubel FROM vbrp WHERE vbeln

Upgrade production order after modification BOM

Dear Gurus,
we need upgrade the quantity requirement in the production order after the modification the quantity in the Bom ?
Is possible read newly the Bom whit the one operation confirmed ?
The component modificated don't allocated a this operation but for example a the operation in status initial.

if only one operation is confirmed then cancelation for that operation
then go for READ PP MASTER DATA option
or if u have relesed only one operation & confirmed only that operation (not full order)
then try to change in component in PRD prder itself in CO02 & realse that particular operation & confirm it
check & revert back

Help on an Efficient Way for Implementing Production Tables Modifications?

Hey Y'all SQL Gurus,
We have two tables (I would call Tab1 and Tab2 here). Tab1 contains social security number(SS#) and Emp_ID information while Tab2 has only SS#. Tab2 is a large table containing about 600k rows, and there is no primary key. Table1 has EMP_ID as Primary Key and SS# with 'Not Null' attribute.
Currently, my task is to eliminate all SS# information from our dB. So, I want to add EMP_ID and eliminate SS# in Tab2, and then set all SS# column of Tab1 to NULL. To date, I have developed the following 2 options to implement this task in Production, and I need your input to choose one of these options and/or any other option(s) or thoughts if any:
Option #A:
A.1. Run the following sql to replace SS# of Tab2 with EMP_ID found from Tab1:
Update Tab2 set SS# = (select Tab1.emp_id from Tab1 where Tab1.SS# = Tab2.SS#);A.2. Alter Tab1 to change attribute for SS# as Null instead of Not Null;
A.3. Set SSN# of Tab1 to Null.
Option #B:
B.1 Add a new column called ‘EMP_ID’ to Tab2;
B.2 Run the following sql to set ‘EMP_ID’ of Tab2 with EMP_ID found from Tab1:
Update Tab2 set EMP_ID = (select Tab1.emp_id from Tab1 where Tab1.SS# = Tab2.SS#);B.3 Delete the SS# column and data from Tab2;
B.4 Alter Tab1 to change attribute for SS# to Null instead of Not Null;
B.5. Set SSN# of Tab1 to Null.
I, of course, will test both options in my test area before implementing the changes in Production. But, I just want to make sure that I have not overlooked anything and if there is any other thoughts, concerns and/or suggestions you might have.

Why not just DROPing that field?Good suggestion, but our user would like to keep the field for the future use, just in case.

Variant modification in SECATT - productive systems

Dear all,
While the execution of some tests with SECATT, it was needed to change the file name of the external variants path. As the quality client is closed for modifications, the change is not possible unless we open the client (table T000), even if the option "e-CATTS execution for trusted systems" is allowed.
Is it possible to change this setting so the user is able to modify the field "file name" without opening the client? If so, how do I do it?

Yes, we have considered to transport ot. However, we would like to keep the "historic" of files. If we transport it, we will overwrite the file everytime we execute it . This is the reason why we would like to modify it without opening the client.
