Modify catalog Search UI in SRM-MDM

Hi,
I'm working with SRM 4.0 and SRM-MDM 2.0 and need to display more information in the search UI field "Price Information" , i want to add the Contract Description and the Supplier to this qualified table and to be able to see this information in the UI display.
The business logic behind this request is: we have a several suppliers delivering the same product so we have several contracts for the same product and we need to enable the user to decide which contract is the source of supply.

Raz

Hi Raz,
as the Java WebDynpro  code is not open source, you cannot modify the WebDynpro  itself.
Also the price information is hard coded, only the specific fields are taking into account by transfer.
Therefore I could only advice, to set up a new table for you, which can be displayed on the search UI, with the needed more information.

  • Passing Search Parameter to SRM-MDM Through the URL

    Greeting all,
I would like to know how I can pass a search parameter to SRM-MDM using the URL in the web browser. This is needed to display the result directly instead of listing the whole catalog contents.
I am trying to pass a search parameter (Text string) to the catalog through an R/3 SAP system. As a result, it should give only the material that I am looking for.
I tried the "Background Search" as described in the OCI-specification paper but still couldn't get it!
By using the parameters mentioned in chapter 3.2.4 of OCI-specification paper, I did the recommended configuration and use the following URL but still failed to pass the parameter:  http://....&FUNCTION=BACKGROUND_SEARCH&SEARCHSTRING=searchterm
Can anyone help me on that?!
    Regards,
    Yousif

    Hi Yousif,
Why dont u save the search as a named search in MDM and then pass it onto the SRM MDM.
Save the records  as Named search in MDM Data Manager
    For eg:
    Named Search name -->> search1
Now while passing the parameters to the SRM MDM Catalog specify the Named Search in its url.
    http://J2EESERVER:PORTNO/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM?sap-locale=EN&HOOK_URL=&mask=&namedSearch=search1&username=Admin&password=PASSWORD&catalog=REPOSITORYNAME&server=MDMSERVERIPADDRESS&datalanguage=EN
After passing the named search in the hook url the you will be able to see only the search which was saved in Data Manager.
    Hope dis helps u

  • Catalog validity period in SRM-MDM

    Hi
    I am using SRM-MDM v 7.1.
In the subtable 'Catalogs' you can create a catalog name and specify the validity dates of that catalog:
You can then assign a Catalog ID to each item in the main Catalog items table.
The problem is that there does not appear to be a way to create a Named Search around the validity dates of the Catalog.
I know there are various other ways I can achieve the hiding of expired items but it seems strange that the standard product does not make use of the validity dates in the Catalog subtable.
I just wanted to check that I am not missing something with the use of the Catalog subtable.
    Many thanks
    James

I've done some research and it appears that in the Free-From search I can write an Expression Search and then save this as my Named Search.
Can anyone tell me how to write an expression for Validity Period End Date is lower than today?
    Thanks
    James

    Hello Sreesha,
You can configure the look n feel of your Catalog Screen.
The SRM-MDM catalog business content, there are some scar files which you have deployed on the server. With the help of that scar file, you can access the search UI Catalog Screen from the link as mentioned below:
Just coneect with your MDM server by server name and password then select your repository. In the standard repository of SRM-MDM, there is alreardy a user as "Master" having role as "UI Configuratation Manager"
Just login with user as "Master" and pwd as blank.
then you can find the UI screen, there are so many functionality to configure your catalog screen.

    -     Select the SRM MDM Catalog
    -     Inside the SRM MDM catalog select an item and click on the shopping basket to add the item to the shopping cart.

    Hi
<b>Check the SAP Note 967088 and download the configuration guide from SAP official website (SAP Marketplace - OSS Login required). Did you raised any message with SAP as well on this yet. If not, please do the same for faster processing of your query.</b>
<u>Please check what all error logs appear in SLG1 and RZ10 and RZ20 transactions in this case.</u>
Which SRM/CCM/MDM versions, support packs are you using ?
FYI, Catalog names are case sensitive.
OCI parameter should be like this.
    0 http://<J2EEhost.domain>:<J2EEport>/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM
    10 username User1
    20 password <blank>
    30 server <MDM Server>
    40 port <Repositiry port>
    50 catalog <Repository name>
    60 uilanguage SY-LANGU
    70 datalanguage SY-LANGU
    80 mask <blank>
    90 named search <blank>
User name and password mainatined in MDM console is case sensitive.I would suggest you to follow this step
1.In MDM Console for User1 enter password as user1(note that password is all small case)
2.Ensure that you enter the password in similar manner in defining OCI.

  • Named Searches in SRM-MDM

    Dear Experts,
I try to create Named Searches On the SRM-MDM Catalog.
I created named searches and assigned each named search do CATALOG_ID.
I assigned the relevant CATALOG_ID to the organizational unit in the organizational stracture.
In the Search UI the user sees the link to the named search I assigned, but he still see all the Items and not only the items I assigned to the named search.
I guess I did not assign the items I picked properly.
    Can someone help?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Keren

    Hi,
In SRM MDM data manager select the current table as Named search in record mode.Right click -Add -Say NamedSearchS1.Then Select your main table as current table.Select the records which you want to display to particular user. Then go to menu Search-Add to named search S1.
Go to Console under roles table-select the particular role-under tables and field tab-Named search-add constraint as S1.
    MDM support 400 named searches.
In EBP then add the s1 in call structure.

  • SRM-MDM searchs not working

    Hi,
Whem doing a search in our SRM-MDM by the item description (for example "pencil") some items are not shown. If we search them from the "MDM Data Manager" searchs work OK. The data of the items that are not shown (language etc.) seems to be OK.
Could it be any cache issue? Must something be done in order to refresh the searchs?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jon

    First a basic check ...
In MDM Search UI check User-Specific Configuration -> Customize Search -> operators  , this is possible that you might have different set of parameter in MDM Data manager for search and different set of parameter here.
Next you can check the SRM web service if you are using any specific "Mask" .
    Thanks

  • Cross catalog search doesn't work for CCM 2.0

    Hi SRM gurus,
We are using SRM 5.0 and CCM2.0.
We created several CCM catalogs but cross catalog search doesn't work at all.
In the call structure, option "cross catalog" is correctly customized.
Are there additional check I have to do in order to see this cross catalog search working fine ?

  • Reg..SRM - MDM Queries.

    Hi,
    We are implementing SRM5.0 with SRM-MDM 2.0
We have implemented the Standard Functionality of SRM-MDM2.0 without XI.
We have some doubts pertaining to SRM-MDM2.0
    1) Why Key Mappings are required?
    2) What is the purpose of Linking Attributes with Categories?
    3) Why we have to upload the Images into several places.
for eg in "Images" table and also in Catalog Items there is
a field for images.Where exactly we have to upload images
in Images table or in the Catalog Items field
        called "Images".
    4) Functionality of "Mask"
    5) In the Shopping cart 'Context View' Tab is missing.
    6) How Shopping Cart will be used by the SRM user.
    7) How we mapped SRM user with SRM-MDM Catalog.
    8) In the "Catalogs Items" Table there is a field called "Relationships" what is the purpose of the same?
Kindly help me on the questions with details description.
    BR,
    Priti

    Hi
    1.Why Key Mappings are required
A remote system’s objects are mapped to master data objects withinMDM using key mapping. A key mapping maintains the relationshipbetween the remote system’s identifier (or key) for an object and thecorresponding master data object in MDM.A key in MDM is a remote system-specific and object-type-specificunique identifier.
    4. Functionality of Mask
Masks is a static snapshot of the repository in other words it is a virtual repository that we create. Masks can be easily created based on your search in the Data manager client. You can then store this search as mask. Masks have to be first created in the data manager, this mask can be assigned to a given user in the console manager under the Roles table. Once the user is assigned mask he will be able to see only those records assigned to him. In other words it acts like views.
Masks can be also passed as parameter in the url if you are viewing the catalog in the browser (SRM-MDM). Records need to be added manually to the masks they dont get added dynamically.
    8. Realtionships table
For relationships table you need to create relations between your records. This can be helpful when you have items details for procurement where your Main item can be related to a subsitute item or a component item or its accessories.
You can create relation ships in the main table record in the data Manager in the record mode just double click on the relationship pane in the Record Detail tab...you will get the relationship box for that record than you can just drag and drop other records as per the relation you want it to maintain with other records.
I think it may help u
    Regards
    Hari

  • Limit on number of SRM-MDM repositories

I am doing sizing exercises for a client who currently has over 20 catalogs, and who over the next 5 years could scale up to hundreds of catalogs across the world. They are all relatively small (~1000 items).  Is there any limit to the number of catalogs (repositories) in the SRM-MDM system?

    Hi,
I think there is no limit. DB side may have limit but it is quite big number.

  • Is use of flat file in SRM-MDM catalog search UI possible ?

    Hello,
When user looks for materials inside SRM-MDM catalog (using search user interface), search is done manually with free form or drill down search.
Then, among the search result, user has to select items he wants to add to his shopping cart and finally transfer those items from his shopping cart overview inside SRM.
Is it possible to automate this user selection using for exemple a flat file uploading (or any other way you could know) ?
This flat file will have material number (or service), supplier code and quantity (no more information).
The aim of the request is to help requester to not have to select each item one by one (in the search result) knowing that :
    -  SC will have more than a hundred items,
    - delivery time and price (for example) must be checked in MDM, being the master data reference
    - materials (or service) to order are received by requester via a flat file without any information about prices, so i cannot upload my flat file directly into SRM because file missing data must come from MDM.
With this process, user should have only to transfer items automatically selected.
Could you please share your advises ?
    We use SAP MDM 5.5.
    Regards.
    Laurent.

    Hello Masa,
    Masayuki Sekihara wrote:
A vendor look at buyer stock information like VMI and fill stock weekly base. So the vendor sends material number and quantity information as flat file to buyer. Buyer should create SC from flat file and price information should fetch from catalog.
Yes, your are correct: example you gave corresponds to process for my SC uploading.

  • MDM catalog Search UI is showing SRM-MDM Service catalog instead of Product

    Hi Experts,

I can able to acess the new repository through MDM Data manager it is fine.
The products in repository are not displayed in search ui page as only service view of catalog is shown.

  • Access to SRM-MDM Catalog search UI takes long time

    Hello,
We are facing a serious performance issue while accessing SRM-MDM 3.0 Catalog search UI in portal system. The response time is between 5 sec - 8 sec. Any suggestions ?
    I have already seen (Note 1077701 & 1138862)
    Thanks .

    Hi Shaikh.
    Some suggestions.
    1. You can restrict the number of records shown in the resultset page of the catalog when you launch.
    2. You can also restrict the number of fields shown in the resultset page of the catalog when you launch.
    3. If you don't need the picklist/hierarchy you can remove those
    4. Also you can limit the number of advance search fields.
Any other special developments(Using BADI) done during the call of catalog?
    Regards
    Bala
