Modify portalapp.xml file

Hi,
I need to add some extra code in portalapp.xml file of my Webdynpro Application. But when i add the code and deploy the application the code which i add are not present in the xml file.
I need to add some extra code in XML file. How is this possible ?
Thanks and Regards,
Kalaivani

Hi,
can you be more specific what you like to do in ur portalapp.xml
u can add the Portal component & portal service properties in ur ur portalapp.xml.
So that when you deploy the application on the server this xml what are the things you want to carry on ur component.
I.e.it describes what the component is all about.
Whether it is a JSP(Jsp Native,component) or else a servlet.
using a standard taglib mention the sevice(/SERVICE/......../htmlb.tld).
So that it recognizes the tld and recognizes the extension which you write in ur JSP.
This is all what portalapp.xml is all for in web dynpro applications
Thanks & Regards,
Lokesh

  • How to create and modify an XML file from an Oracle Form

    I would like to build an Oracle Form to maintain a small XML file in the file system (i.e. Not in Oracle database but in the operating system).
    I would like the Form to display existing values from the XML file and the user can update and save content back to the XML file.
    Can any one tell me how this can be done? Thanks.

    Does Forms 9i provide any XML Parser Functions?
    Can I insert the XML file into a table column by inserting XML using the XSU Front End rather than using TEXT_IO to maintain the XML file directly?
    Can I use XSU PL/SQL API in Forms to retrieve and modify XML values?
    Any help is appreciated.

An XML file is really at its heart just a text file, and just like you can't simply write a change in the middle of a text file* but rather have to re-write out the entire contents, the same is true for an XML file.

  • Modify webui (xml) file

    Hi all,
    On one of the page in Oracle Sourcing, there are two check boxes out of which by default one is checked. The requirement is that by default none of the checkedbox should be checked. Normally we should be able to make the change using personalization. But in this case it's not possible and confirmed that on Metalink.
    So my question: Is it safe to modify the ponCompleteAward2PG.xml obviously under custom package e.g. xx.oracle.apps.pon.award.completion.webui.xxponCompleteAward2PG.xml
    So I can just modify the line of code in the above xml file and upload it using XMLImporter.
    Thanks..

    If this checkbox is in table regin then..

  • Who does modify my XML-Files on iCloud, if its not me?

    Hello All,
    I am using iCloud to synchronize my Scrivener projectfiles between my Macs. Scrivener is a writers software, storing projects as packed XML-Files (*.scriv).
    Using iCloud Drive to store my projects I have faced several times an unknown process is "unpacking" those files and stripping them into their directory structure without me having asked for that. Obviously, My writing projects are messed up and Scrivener can't read the files anymore. I wonder what unknown process does change the files I stored on iCloud Drive? Why is my data being modified?
    Any hint would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Thomas
    This is how it looks when I drop the *.scriv Files onto iCloud-Drive:
    This is how it looks after a while. It looks like all Files have been modified by a process, nearly at the same time.

    Hi Taunda
    When you went through the iOS 6 set up - did you see the option to restore?
    When you go through Setup Assistant on a new iOS 5 device, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose which backup to restore from.
    After your device restarts, your settings and accounts are restored and Backup starts downloading your purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, books, Camera Roll, and other content.
    Note: You may be prompted to enter the passwords for all accounts enabled on your device. You may also be prompted to enter the password for for any iTunes, iBookstore and App Store accounts for which iCloud Backup is attempting to restore content.
    A progress bar will appear underneath the apps that are being downloaded. To prioritize the restore of a specific app, tap its icon. Restore will attempt to download the same version of the app that you had installed previously. If that version is no longer available, the latest version of the app will be restored.

  • How to stop WL 7.0 to modify config.xml file

    As said, weblogic has two modes, PRODUCTION and DEVELOPMENT, if set to PRODUCTION
    mode, weblogic startup will not deploy any application and you should use console
    or deployer tool to deploy them manually. But, if I start it in PRODUCTION mode,
    the first it does not deployt any application and startup very quickly, but, if
    I manually deploy any application, weblogic server will also modify config.xml
    and my next startup will deploy all the applications since they are specified
    in config.xml, and the startup time will be much longer. How could I stop weblogic
    server from doing this? I want production mode but I want to keep my original
    config.xml untouched.
    Thanks

    To change this behavior:
    In Skype go to "Tools" - "Options" - "IM Settings" -  uncheck "Automatically accept incoming files" OR under "When I receive a file...." select "choose a folder to save the file in every time.

  • How to modify a xml file?

    I use JAXP 1.1 to read a xml file as a DOM tree. I can make change to the DOM tree in the memory, such as add an element or change the node value, but how can I apply these changes to the source xml file, i.e., write the changes back to the disk?

    you can write an xml file using DOMWriter.
    copy and compile this class
    and then use it:
    PrintWriter printWriter = //create a printWriter form your xml file

    writer.print(myXml.toString());

  • Modify existing XML file

    Ok I really need some help...What is the JAVA code that i need to add something to an existing XML file. Basically, I want to add a new tag at the end of another one. So I need to search the XML file for the end of one tag, and then add a new tag after that one. Please help.

    Sounds like you think it's simple. There is a set of XML tutorials here:
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/1.0/tutorial/index.html
    You probably need the one titled "Document Object Model" but it may help to read some of the others too.

  • Dobuts in modifying an UWL XML file

    Hi Friends,
    We have a requirement in UWL for a custom task TS90000104; the user should get the user decision note once he clicks the work item in UWL, where in he can enter the rejection reasons while rejecting a leave request. For this we need to modify the XML file associated with the task, we need the set the value of the property name UserDecisionNote to true.I have the following doubts in that:
    Will there be an XML file associated with every custom task?, If so where we can find them, If not then will there be a common XML file which we need to copy and change the task id and the other property names and then upload it? Please clarify.

    Thanks for the reply sapient.  I had a bit of a difficult time getting the XML file set up correctly because between the SAP help, the UWL with SAP Netweaver Portal book and various online examples, I was getting conflicting information as to how to do it.  First of all, when the UWL initially loads, you apparently see the template defined in the XML file.  After the UWL refreshes, it pulls the information from the actual workitem/definition and it overrides some of the settings in the XML.  I have a decision step with 3 outcomes.  If I don't define all 3 steps in the XML, it doesn't work.  I want my replace and reject steps to have the note as mandatory while approve doesn't require it.  My first few attempts resulted in all 3 outcomes requiring a note to be attached.  It seems the order you use to define the actions matters and the optional outcome must be defined first.  Here's the XML that worked for me..hopefully it is helpful to someone else:

    Project Name: Button
    src.core - > bean -> ButtonBean, ButtonExample.

    Button.jsp is jsp file.
    I wrote Portalapp.xml file like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <application>

    </application>
    The output throws some exception.
    How to modify the above code? Also where can I see the log file?
    Please guide me
    Regards,

    Hi Ravi,
    You can change the code under dist/portalapps.xml, In the Outline View select the components you need to change by Right selecting it. Do changes according to your requirements.

  • Create log-configuration.xml contents in portalapp.xml

    Hi All,
    I created a PAR file and want to use log-configuration.xml contents in portalapp.xml and view or edit log controllers in Visual Admin.  Is this possible?  Can i modify portalapp.xml and create and manage log controllers in Visual Admin.
    Thanks
    Prasad

    Hi Viet,
    For NW 7.0x, we'd put the log-configuration.xml in the META-INF directory of the project's EAR.  It'll work with settings in Visual Admin & ConfigTool.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/cc/e03842134bad04e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
    However, the log-configuration.xml is no longer used since NW 7.1 (not sure if it comes back in NW 7.3)
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Java/7.0to7.1evolutioninLogConfiguration
    /people/heidrun.reichart/blog/2006/11/24/how-to-use-sap-netweaver-administrator-with-sapacutes-java-platform-enterprise-edition-5 (you should also read the exchanged comments)
    Also, in NW 7.3, I believe VA is no longer exist and the entire logging configuration is done using NWA & ConfigTool.  You can search for more information about using NWA in NW 7.3 and/or java development for NW 7.3.  Also, you'd probably want to post your questions in WDJ and/or Java development forums.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to get the number from a xml file to flash as3 Text Box "Get_Days"?

    Hi,
    I have to daily update the number of days finished from the specified days. Say, One work to be finished in 30 days. And the start day is today. So, tomorrow it will be 29 days left. and so on....
    So, instead of reducing one number everyday from the last days number using flash, it will be easy changing in xml file.
    How can I do that?
    I have a simple text box "dynamic text box" and the instance name : "Days_Left". Since I am learner, I cannot make complex projects. I am learning small things with very few lines of code which can be modified using xml files.
    So, Whatever I type in a xml file, it should appear in a text box called "Days_Left".
    Thanks.

    then you can use:
    var currentDate:Date = new Date();
    // this is today's date
    var projectDueDate:Date = new Date(2010,11,29);
    // use whatever date you want for the due date.
    // months are zero-based.  (ie, jan is month 0, dec is month 11.)
    var daysToCompleteProject:Number = (projectDueDate.getTime()-currentDate.getTime())/(1000*60*60*24);
    // this is number of days between currentDate and projectDueDate.  you probably want to round or use days:hours:minutes for your display

  • PL/SQL procedure to process XML file

    I am just starting to work on xml, and we are using PL/SQL stored procedures to process xml file. I did find the sample code in the package (family.sql). This sample print out all element names and attributes. My questions are :
    (1) I tried to modify the code to print out the element values (or Node values). Here is the code:
    -- get all elements and values
    nl := xmlparser.getElementsByTagName(doc, '*');
    len := xmlparser.getLength(nl);
    -- loop through elements
    for i in 0..len-1 loop
    n := xmlparser.item(nl, i);
    dbms_output.put_line('NodeName: ' &#0124; &#0124; xmlparser.getNodeName(n) &#0124; &#0124; ' ');
    dbms_output.put_line('NodeValue: ' &#0124; &#0124; xmlparser.getNodeValue(n) &#0124; &#0124; ' ');
    end loop;
    However, it did not print out the values, although it did print out the name. what's wrong with it? how can I get the value?
    (2) I have the following xml file:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <profile>
    <id>1</id>
    <name>Company</name>
    <des>master profile</desc>
    <subprofile>
    <subid>1</subid>
    <subname>group1</subname>
    <subdesc>group profile</subdesc>
    </subprofile>
    </profile>
    now, I'd like to print out all the children of the <subprofile> node, that is <subid>, <subname> and <subdesc>. Here is my code:
    -- get subprofile nodelist
    qnlist := xmlparser.getElementsByTagName(doc, 'subprofile');
    -- get length of the nodelist
    len := xmlparser.getLength(qnlist);
    -- loop through elements
    for i in 0..len-1 loop
    qnode := xmlparser.item(qnlist, i);
    qnnode := xmlparser.getFirstChild(qnode);
    qnchild := xmlparser.getFirstChild(qnnode);
    dbms_output.put_line(xmlparser.getNodeName(qnnode));
    dbms_output.put_line(xmlparser.getNodeValue(qnchild));
    LOOP
    if (xmlparser.isNULL(xmlparser.getNextSibling(qnnode))) then exit;
    END IF;
    qnnode := xmlparser.getNextSibling(qnnode);
    qnchild := xmlparser.getFirstChild(qnnode);
    dbms_output.put_line(xmlparser.getNodeName(qnnode));
    dbms_output.put_line(xmlparser.getNodeValue(qnchild));
    END LOOP;
    end loop;
    when I execute the procedure, I get the following output:
    #text
    I am not sure what's wrong with it. Basically, I didn't know the procedure to traverse the tree since here it's a little different from OO programming. Could someone give a sample code which demonstrate the procedure which can get a specific element's name and values? (for my exapmle, the name and value of the <subname>, or <subid>, <subdesc>).
    Also, is there a way to insert a part of xml file into a DB table? in my case, insert the subprofile into a table. I know the xmlgen package has a procedure to insert a xml file into a table, but not a part of xml. And can I insert a xml file into several tables instead of one table, using xmlgen package?
    looking forward to hearing from you. any suggestion and sample code would be helpful. thank you very much.

    I sloved my first question: to get the Nodevalue, I need to use getFirstChild(n);
    But, I still didn't figure out the second
    problem. Actually, It works when I modified my xml file as following:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <profile>
    <id>1</id>
    <name>Company</name>
    <des>master profile</desc>
    <subprofile><subid>1</subid><subname>group1</subname><subdesc>groupprofile</subdesc></subprofile>
    </profile>
    All the <subprofile>....</subprofile> must be in one line without any return. This is unbelievable! It suppose that xml does not matter new lines. I tested my code, it seems space is fine, but new line. Something must be wrong in my code.
    please give any suggestion. Thanks,
    Yudong
