Modifying contact form

I know how to get into edit mode for modifying the contact forms, but I can't figure out how to change the basic layout of the contact form.
What I want to do is get rid of the whole upper right section where the photo and accompanying text go. Then I want to move a different section to that area, including adding new fields. Then rearrange the Notes area so it goes across the whole bottom of
the contact card.
I can't figure out how to remove sections or rearrange the layout of the contact card. Can it be done? If so, how?
Also, from what I have found so far, it is not possible to change the layout of existing contacts. All you can do is create a new contact template for future contacts. The current ones cannot be modified or if they can, you have to do them one at a time.
Is this also correct?
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,
Would you please provide a screenshot and point out which parts of the contact form you want to modify? You can send the screenshot to us via sending a message to
TN Office Information Collection  [email protected]
In addition, when we edit the first page of the Outlook contact form, it will look like the old Outlook 2002 (and older) forms when published. Just like the below:
Please tell us if this is want you want to achieve.
Moreover, the custom contact form won't apply to existing contacts, you'll need to manually modify them one by one. Or, you can change them all at once by using macro. For macro assistance, I'd recommend you post a question in the Outlook for Developers
forum:

  • Can you have multiple contact forms in a single Muse site?

    I have a site created in Muse that needs to use multiple contact forms of a sort.  One is a simple contact form.  Two others are sign up forms. In two of the three forms I have to separate the First and Last names.  Also in those there are multiple Custom fields and Message fields.
    The original simple contact form is working fine and has been.  However, I modified one of the pages by adding a second form, the first of the two sign-up forms.  It looked great in Muse, but when uploaded to the site, all of the fields were gone, leaving only the Labels in a single paragraph.
    Does this mean I can't have multiple contact forms in a single site?  If I actually, can, then what might have caused the problem?  And what could you suggest for me to try to fix it?
    Thank you,
    Laura

    Thank you for the information, but I cannot find anywhere in help where to find the field names (if that is my problem).  I changed all the labels and the corresponding text inside the field (remember, Muse does not give access to code as far as I can tell).  When I preview the page in a browser (using FireFox as default, but also tried with IE), everything looks good.  When I export to html and open the index.html on my computer, everything still looks great.  But when I FTP the page to the website, this is what I get:
    First Name:RequiredRescuer Email:RequiredOrganization (if any):RequiredSubmitting Form...The server encountered an error.Form received.Geographic Areas Covered:RequiredRescuer Cell Phone:RequiredRescuer Home Phone:RequiredRescuer Home Address:
    RequiredRescuer City:RequiredRescuer State:RequiredRescuer Zip code:RequiredRescuer Country:RequiredVeterinarian Name:RequiredVet Address:RequiredVet City & State:RequiredVet Phone:RequiredRequiredServices Offered:RequiredAdditional Info About You:Required Rescuer (available to general public) RequiredVolunteer (available only to Rescuers)RequiredPhoneRequiredEmailRequiredOtherRequiredLast Name:RequiredImage Verification:Required
    How would you prefer to be listed?
    How would you prefer to be contacted?
    However, this is how it looks on the preview:
    So, what is my problem?  And how can I fix it?
    Thank you,
    Laura

  • Third party contact form widgets no longer working with upgrade - PHP errors

    PHP seems to be even more screwed up with the latest update/upgrade to Muse.  The previous upgrade started producing the following error message when I uploaded my site via FTP:
    "1 Warning - Connection to PHP file failed. Unable to check if this web server supports PHP needed by Muse forms. Be sure the domain name entered in the FTP upload dialog is correct."
    However, everything worked and in participating in some queries here, it seemed to be an oddity versus anything serious (things still worked but an error message popped up for no real discernible reason)
    Since the latest update, however, widgets that I have from two different companies for the purpose of emailing me through the website, sending messages, etc, are no longer working and the following message is displayed upon hitting "submit"
    " Form PHP script is missing from web server, or PHP is not configured correctly on your web hosting provider. Check if the form PHP script has been uploaded correctly, then contact your hosting provider about PHP configuration."
    In checking with my web host provider, I was told
    "the page appears to use the script form-u31652.php which does exist on the
    server.
    Unfortunately that error is not specific enough to point us in the right
    direction. PHP is indeed working on the server. However, looking at the
    apache web server error logs I can see that the contact form appears to be
    looking for a file that does not exist.
    To trouble shoot this issue you will want to work with Muse to determine
    why the sites coding is looking for the file
    /usr/home/NAME/public_html/WEBSITE.com/null."
    Any ideas what this means and how to solve this would be great. I've tried re-uploading the entire website, figuring that maybe something wasn't being uploaded via "Modified Only" but it still is happening
    Thanks!

    That isn't what ended up fixing it, Sanjit. Thanks to this article PHP FAQ for Muse Synchronized Text and help from an online representative from Adobe, was able to troubleshoot with my web provider. Turns out the problem was that a while back Muse deleted the fcgi-bin directory (probably during the previous upgrade, as that is when the PHP errors started to surface with me and others). And it was never put back by Muse even during a clean/full reupload of the website.  Had to have my web provider do it manually.

  • Problem with contact form

    Hi-
    I found a contact form for my Flash website but it's not working properly. It uses ActionScript 3 and PHP, both of which I don't know much about. Because of this, I can't pinpoint the problem or how to fix it. Here's what's going on:
    1) Each field in the form only allows 3 characters and no special characters such as @ _ ! . , etc...
    2) When the user goes to the next field in the form, the previous field appears blank but the when clicking on that again, the original text appears.
    3) When submitting the form, it just keeps saying "in progress" and never shows the confirmation text nor does the email get sent. There is an HTML file included with this form but I am not sure if I need to put that in as I have embedded this form into an SWF file so I don't think I need that code but please let me know if I am wrong about this.
    I am posting both the AS code and PHP code below.. if someone can help me figure this out I would greatly appreciate it. I am not sure which file the problem is in. If someone here doesn't know PHP then at least see the AS code and let me know if the problem is in that or not. That way I can pinpoint which file the problem is coming from and then seek further help if needed. To see the form in action, go here: http://www.poojasdesigns.com/ and click on "Contact Me".. here are the codes:
    ActionScript 3.0
    //presistant reference to this movie's mail timeline:
    var mainTL:MovieClip = this;
    //start off with submit button dimmed

    //create the LoadVars objects which will be used later
    //one to send the data...
    var dataSender:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
    //and one to recieve what comes back
    var dataReceiver:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
    create listener for Key Object
    this is just a U.I. thing - "wakes up" the submit button

    You say you don't know much about AS3, and that you have embedded this form into an swf.  In what manner did you embed it, and what version of AS does the swf use?  Have you tried using the form in the page that was provided as a standalone test to see if it works?

  • I, and my clients, want a VERY simple contact form hosting option...

    There's no need for us to have data collected and analyzed. No need for yet another hosting service to store data we'll NEVER use.
    I've already got a hosting service for my site. My clients already have hosting for their sites. None of us are willing to spend another
    dime to have a second hosting system for anything. Don't care. Don't want it. LOVE the Muse forms and the ease with which I can
    modify them to look the way I want them to, but that all adds up to jack squat if they don't work.
    All we're looking for is a simple contact form that allows users to fill in a couple of form fields, add a little message and hit send.
    My clients want to have at the most, about 5 different email addresses set up so they can keep the information organized a bit on their end.
    They may get at most about 300-500 emails a month at a peak time of the year.
    That's not too much to ask is it?
    I mean, if I use the "Upload to FTP host" feature in Muse, what's so hard about adding a bit of code that uses that server space to pass along
    a few messages to a mailbox?
    Can't we just set up a BASIC contact form that is just creating an email and sending it to an email address with a preformatted message based
    upon the form fields we add to the widget? Something like this:
    Name: John Smith
    Email: [email protected]
    Phone: 555-555-5555
    Message: You guys are a great little company, thanks for being so swell.
    Dat be all we want yo! Hook us up mang!
    For $15 dollars a month that I'm paying to use Muse, there oughta be something like that in the form widget panel! Dang!
    Really have a bad taste in my mouth with this whole attempt to channel people into Business Catalyst... That might be great
    for some of your customers, but odds are, not really... The majority of Muse users are likely to be designers that want to have
    a bit more control over their clients image/brand, and want to have less painful ways of keeping up with the advancements in
    webdesign/development without having to learn new code crap every few months!
    So let's not be too greedy and accidentally paint some of your customers into a corner and try to get them to pay you more
    money for services they don't need, and probably don't want.
    I've recommended Muse to a few designer friends of mine, and their comments are all the same: Love Muse for the ease of
    use in designing websites, hate the idea of Business Catalyst. "Feels like a ball and chain, but worse because I have to pay for it."
    Yeah, time to rethink your plan a bit folks?
    Simple Muse Form Widget. Get on it! It would be VERY nice of you to do so!

    I do agree and have posted a few times on this. It would be nice not to be tied down with another hosting subscription. It would be better if instead of having to pay for BC hosting with different plan pricing they could have different pricing for Muse with different feature options. I would pay more for Muse to use the form feature freely on any server I choose because like you said the form widget is great for making really custom forms, but that ease of use should come at a cost because it is so sought after.
    I am getting sick of people wanting everything for free just because it is there and they want it so badly but think they shouldn't have to pay for it because it is not in their budget.
    Muse should have different tiers with different feature options and not force BC on users. BC is a great solution for people without hosting or users that are not familiar with setting up their own servers but for the ones that do have their own servers and are comfortable with using them feel tied down.

  • Change font size of contact form.

    Hi,
    I have been searching through google and various forums to make a contact form, and I finally have it working. (YAY!) HOWEVER...
    There's one problem: I don't know how to change the font size. Help?!
    Here's my action script code:
    submit_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, sendMessage);
    function sendMessage(e:MouseEvent):void{
    var my_vars:URLVariables = new URLVariables();
    my_vars.senderName = name_txt.text;
    my_vars.senderEmail = email_txt.text;
    my_vars.senderMsg = message_txt.text;
    var my_url:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://mydomain.com/mail.php");
    my_url.method = URLRequestMethod.POST;
    my_url.data = my_vars;
    var my_loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
    my_loader.dataFormat = URLLoaderDataFormat.VARIABLES;
    my_loader.load(my_url);
    name_txt.text = "";
    email_txt.text = "";
    message_txt.text = "Message Sent";
    Do I need to add something to my action script to modify the text size? If so, what? Or do I modify the text size through other means? I've been looking at tutorials online, forums, and I just couldn't find something that helped me.
    Thank you!

    Ahh. Thanks for being patient with a newbie.
    So I've got the code in and compiler errors came up:
    Scene 1, Layer 'content', Frame 70, Line 3
    1119: Access of possibly undefined property defaultTextFormat through a reference with static type fl.controls:TextInput.
    Scene 1, Layer 'content', Frame 70, Line 4
    1119: Access of possibly undefined property defaultTextFormat through a reference with static type fl.controls:TextInput.
    Scene 1, Layer 'content', Frame 70, Line 5
    1119: Access of possibly undefined property defaultTextFormat through a reference with static type fl.controls:TextArea.
    Below is what I have in action script, did I need to place the code you gave me somewhere else?:
    var tfor:TextFormat=new TextFormat();
    tfor.size=12;
    name_txt.defaultTextFormat=tfor;
    email_txt.defaultTextFormat=tfor;
    message_txt.defaultTextFormat=tfor;
    submit_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, sendMessage);
    function sendMessage(e:MouseEvent):void{
    var my_vars:URLVariables = new URLVariables();
    my_vars.senderName = name_txt.text;
    my_vars.senderEmail = email_txt.text;
    my_vars.senderMsg = message_txt.text;
    var my_url:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://mydomain.com/mail.php");
    my_url.method = URLRequestMethod.POST;
    my_url.data = my_vars;
    var my_loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
    my_loader.dataFormat = URLLoaderDataFormat.VARIABLES;
    my_loader.load(my_url);
    name_txt.text = "";
    email_txt.text = "";
    message_txt.text = "Message Sent";

  • Has anyone's Contact Form quit working with the latest Muse update?

    I've removed Captcha, reCaptcha, and still I'm getting the message, "ERROR: An error occurred. Image verification failed. If you believe this is incorrect, please contact your system administrator or go back and re-submit the form." This form worked perfectly last week! I had to resend my Muse file today with some minor changes (using the updated Muse app) and now my Contact Forms cannot be sent... Any ideas on what's going on.
    I don't know if it's related, but the Business Catalyst servers have been extremely slow today!!!

    After having no luck, I finally ended up going back to a slightly older version of the website file (.muse), pulling out the entire old contact form, and rebuilding it with the updated Contact Form widget from the current version of Muse. This worked. I believe there was just some conflict with a piece of old code sitting on the server. I'd suggest when you reload your site, that you do ALL files, rather than just the "modified" pages.

  • Need help with creating a contact form!

    I searched the forum, and found the suggestion to go to Bravenet and create the form, and then copy the code into the HTML snippet.
    I've done that - but I need to change the font - along with its color and possibly the size.
    Here is the code:
    <form method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" action="http://pub5.bravenet.com/emailfwd/senddata.php">

    <input type="submit" value=" Submit "> <input type="reset" value=" Reset ">

    </form>
    Can anyone give me a hand??

  • Contact form check boxes will not work on a Tablet

    Hi there,
    I created a website (Desktop) and a mobile version (Phone).  I did not create one for a tablet but have relied on the Desktop version if someone views it on a Tablet.
    Here's the thing, I created a contact form with checkboxes.  It works great on a desktop (because people check the boxes with their mouse), however, it doesn't work on a Tablet, when you try and check the boxes with your finger.
    Help!

    Please share the site URL.

  • Changed Outlook Contact Form back to IPM.Contact - now I can't save contact in Public Folder

    I recently changed the Contact form that we were using back to the default IPM.Contact. I did this so that it  would be consistent for only a few of us had a custom contact template to use and it made it difficult to share contact information. After
    changing the contact default back to IPM.Contact and changing all the contacts to reflect the default Message class, no can add a contact to the Public Folder contact file. I have tried several different setting for the permsion. Publishing Author, Publish
    Editor, Owner, it still gives the error
    The item cannot be saved to this folder. The folder was deleted, or you do not have permission. Do you want to save a copy of it in the degfualt folder for the item.
    When I changed the form back to IPM.Contact  i ran the omglass.exe to change it on all the contacts in the public folder.
    Please advise for no contacts can now be added to our company contact list

    Hi,
    Please right-click this public folder, click Properties. In the General tab, make sure the field of "When posting to this folder, use" is set to IPM.Contact.
    Please restart Outlook with Outlook /checkclient switch(Start > Run > type Outlook /checkclient and enter) to have a try. If it fails, please create a new Outlook profile to have a try:

  • Contact form-checkbox PHP coding doesnt work

    I am a beginner to web page design so i would be grateful if you can explain to me what PHP coding i would need for 'Checkbox' and where to place it in the PHP coding below. I can submit the form to my email with all the headings and the filled in forms with checkbox Yes or No.
    Only problem i have is that part of the check box info appear right at the top of the email message rather than the 'Name', 'Tel', 'Email' etc..Another half of the checkbox appear where it suppose to be wih double heading as shown below. I would also like to remove the <br> from the email message. Can you also tell me how to change the colour for heading so its clear.
    I have marked the checkbox code in BLUE for both HTML and PHP coding below. Sorry for the long coding. Look forward to hearing from someone. Much appreciated.

    Dear David
    Thank you so much for the clear explanation. I have been using Lynda.com Dreamweaver CS5 tutorial. I found the coding for checkbox through search and added to the coding from Lynda.com tutorial.
    I made few changes to the coding by removing:
    $msg = "$rearExt<br>\r\n$sideExt<br>\r\n$twoStoreyRear<br>\r\n
              $twoStoreySide<br>\r\n$loft<br>\r\n$newBuild<br>\r\n$flat<br>\r\n$other\r\n";
    as the email message shows the results from the checkbox twice.
    I also removed the <br> from:
    $body = "Name: $name<br>\r\n
              Email: $email<br>\r\n
              Contact No: $contact_number<br>\r\n
             Other: $other\r\n
              Message:\r\n
                $message";
    I have add the result and the PHP coding you have helped to fixed for anyone needing a working PHP code containing Text Fields, Drop Down List, Checkbox and Text Area. Many thanks for all your help. If you have a coding to change the heading text colour I very much appericate it.

  • Creating a modern Contact Form in Dreamweaver or use an addon

    Hi
    I am looking for an easy way to create a modern contact form in Dreamweaver using and addon also will be fine
    Any ideas?

    Drop down: with 3 options
    Simple text box

    Thanks

    Making the HTML form is easy but the form processing script which collects data & sends it to your email is not quite so simple.   Start with your web host.  Ask them if they have form-to-email processing scripts you can use.  If they don't, find out which scripts your hosting plan supports (php, asp, asp.net, perl, coldfusion, etc...)

  • Contact Form (php)  - how to prevent new window...

    My contact form works just fine, however, I currently have
    the target set to "_blank" which is not what I want.
    Rather than opening the .php file open in a new window, I
    just want to go to a new frame (labeled "success" or "error")
    within my flash file (which currently works fine)
    So, my question is how do I send the form information to my
    php file WITHOUT having to open a new window outside of my flash
    file since I'm sending the user to new frame instead.
    FYI: I've already tried removing "_blank" but it still opens
    the php file in a new browser window.
    My code below:
    on (release){
    var my_lv:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
    my_lv.fullName = fullName_txt.text;
    my_lv.email = email_txt.text;
    my_lv.emailMessage = emailMessage_txt.text;
    if(fullName_txt.text != "" && email_txt.text != ""
    && emailMessage_txt.text != "") {
    my_lv.send("contact.php","_blank","POST");
    gotoAndStop("success");
    else {
    gotoAndStop("error");
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Yvonne

    Thanks for your help, Zupko.
    I tried your suggestion but I'm still experiencing the same
    problem. A new window still opens. Perhaps I'm doing something
    wrong?
    My code with your suggestion below:
    on (release){
    var my_lv:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
    my_lv.fullName = fullName_txt.text;
    my_lv.email = email_txt.text;
    my_lv.emailMessage = emailMessage_txt.text;
    if(fullName_txt.text != "" && email_txt.text != ""
    && emailMessage_txt.text != "") {
    loadVariables("contact.php","POST");
    gotoAndStop("success");
    else {
    gotoAndStop("error");
    Your help is very much appreciated!

  • Is there any api to modify the form field in PDF?

    Hi,
    Our client need we provide the editable PDF, i.e. some form fields in the PDF report can be edit. Now we created the PDF template and merged it with the XML data definition in Jdeveloper, but when we get the final PDF report, we found that the PDF form field property is changed to "Read-Only" automatically. We make sure that in PDF template the form field is not "Read-Only", something happened when we merging the XML data and the PDF template.
    Now we wonder if there is any API can help us to modify the PDF form field property, after we merge the XML data and PDF template, we can use it to change the form fields to editable, not "Read-Only".

    Hi,
    What I need is to modify some form fields' property, I explore some web and found before I create the PDF file, I can set the security of the PDF:
    Properties prop = new Properties();
    prop.put("pdf-security","true");
    prop.put("pdf-open-password","welcome");
    So I wonder if there is one property related to the PDF form field.
    Thank you.

  • DW CS5, Sending contact form results to email with page redirection using php script

    I am currently building a site from scratch with Dreamweaver, with the intent of replacing my current website layout that was designed using Intuit's website builder. My dreamweaver site is not online, but i have setup a local test server on my computer, using XAMPP, and i have an apache server with a MySQL database and a mercury mailserver running. I mention that in case it makes a difference in your answers. If necessary, I can include those settings, but that may be asking too much.
    I have an html contact form for users to schedule service appointments. I need the resulting actioned php file to do the following after submit is clicked: verify certain fields have been entered; prevent spammers or verify human visitors; send the form results to a (hidden from public view of any kind) email address; redirect user to a confirmation page, or an error page.
    I found the following code but being less than a newbie im not sure what needs to be changed, or if its even the right script i should be using:
    5 <?php
    6 $email = $_POST['email'];
    7 $mailto = '[email protected]';
    8 $mailsubj = 'You Have a Service Request';
    9 $url = '/MyLandingPage.html';
    10 $req = '0';
    11 $mailbody = "Results from form:\r\n";
    12 $space = ' ';
    13 $line = '
    14 ';
    15 foreach ($_POST as $key => $value)
    16 {
    17 if ($req == '1')
    18 {
    19 if ($value == '')
    20 {echo "$key is empty";die;}
    21 }
    22 $j = strlen($key);
    23 if ($j >= 20)
    24 {echo "Name of form element $key cannot be longer than 20 characters";die;}
    25 $j = 20 - $j;
    26 for ($i = 1; $i <= $j; $i++)
    27 {$space .= ' ';}
    28 $value = str_replace('\r\n', "$line", $value);
    29 $conc = "{$key}:$space{$value}$line";
    30 $text .= $conc;
    31 $space = ' ';
    32 }
    33 mail($emailadd, $subject, $text, 'From: '.$emailadd.'');
    34 echo '<META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="0; URL='.$url.'">';
    35 ?>
    Can anyone please illuminate me on what I need?
    Thank You in advance
