Monitor oracle tablespaces in CEN

Hi,
I have managed to setup auto reaction methods for filesystems, which was a bit of a long method i opted for but it works wonders and i get emails for the specific system and file path. One aspect i am having trouble with is monitoring tablespaces. in DSWP i have setup the threshold levels for all the tablespaces and in RZ21 in SolMan i have setup an auto reaction method to monitor PSAPUNDO which quite often hits 80% and use this to test it. In the CEN system's RZ20 i cannot see the remote system's list of tablespaces other than SolMan's own tablespaces so opted to configure RZ21's "Manage Central Autoreactions" but the tablespace has hit pass 90% and no email was triggered. i have used the MTE class CCMS_ORAucPSAPUNDO and i wish the names were more meaningful which i assume 'u' means "used"
Has anyone setup this sort of monitoring?
thanks Mani

Need to check does your agent uploading XML files? some cases it fails to upload then you need to upload manually

  • Does OEM Grid Control 10g support monitoring Oracle Portal 10g?

    Dear expert,
It seems OEM GC 10g could monitor WebCenter, Weblogic portal and even Websphere portal, but I could not find any info for Oracle Portal. So,
    1.     Does OEM GC support to monitor Oracle Portal 10g? If not, does it support Oracle Portal 11g?
    2.     If does not support Oracle Portal, then is there any workaround for it? E.g. if it’s feasible through “web appliation”?
Any comment and docs are welcome.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Rob,
    Thanks for your help.
BTW, I have another question for your reply, that what do u mean by “You can use Oracle Enterprise Manager to monitor and manage OracleAS Portal”?
Do you mean OEM AS Console or OEM GC? Boz I only find these metrics from OEM AS Console, which mentioned in this doc. http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B16240_01/doc/em.102/b25987/oracle_portal.htm#CHDFJHDD
If these metrics only available in AS Console, then how to let the OEM send out email notification if critical threshold is over?
    Thank you.

  • Monitoring Oracle Glassfish or Generic URL with Oracle Grid Control

How are people monitoring Oracle Glassfish with Oracle Grid Control?
I really just need to monitor the URL right now, is the only method to setup a system and monitor a generic web test with a beacon?

I would think this is indeed the only way to monitor the URL.
Perhaps you could try a solution in creating your own plug-in.
    Check http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/extensions/index.html for this.

  • Can Grid control 11g monitor Oracle 9i database

Can Grid control 11g monitor Oracle 9i database? This is on Linux5.7
    Thanks for the help
    s.

Yes but Enterprise Manager 11.1 Grid Control requires the 11.1 Agent.
Then go to the Targets tab, then Databases. It should self-discover the 9i database.

  • Use OEM to monitor oracle database size

    Hello All,
We currently have several database which are currently monitored via OEM however i will appreciate if anyone can tell me how i can monitor the the size of my oracle databases via oem
    Thanks

    Hi,
I'm not sure of OEM will monitor database size, but many 3rd party tools do.
There are many ways to achieve Oracle table monitoring, and many create specialized extension metadata tables to monitor Oracle table growth. In Oracle 10g you can perform Oracle tables monitoring with the dba_hist_seg_stat tables, specifically the space_used_total column.
On my databases, I create STATSPACK extension tables to track table and overall database growth:
    http://www.dba-oracle.com/te_table_monitoring.htm
The full scripts are in my Oracle Press book, Oracle tuning with STATSPACK . . .

  • Managing/monitoring Oracle Database using WBEM

Typically an Oracle Database environment is best monitored and managed using the
    Oracle Enterprise Manager.
But does Oracle allow/support monitoring and management of Oracle databases using open standards like WBEM?
We are trying to standardize on an open standard like WBEM for monitoring and managing hardware and software and also model those entities using the CIM (Common Information model) and would
like to monitor Oracle Databases under this model using WBEM.
I have read about the ability of the Oracle Enterprise manager to manage other third party hardware and software including databases using WBEM Fetchlets.
Would appreciate any information regarding this topic.

Better post your question in Enterprise Manager

  • How to monitor Oracle Glassfish with Grid Control 11g

    Hi,
Could someone tell me how can i monitor Oracle Glassfish with Grid Control 11g ?? i think i need a plug-in but i don't know where could i download it
I guess the information i can monitor depends on the plug-in :)
    Regards

    Hi Carlos,
We do have partners that routinely write plug-ins to extend OEM. If you take a look at the EM Extensibility Exchange below, you will find various extensions that partners such as Blue Medora have written:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=34841:1:26399399216901:::::
Please keep in mind though that between SLM and JVM diagnostics, you would have a significant amount of visibility even without the Glassfish target.

  • Monitoring Oracle database 8i

I have to monitor Oracle 8i database. I don't have much experience with it, but I need gather information about that database.

    b) name of queries which are running at the time of watching (because of looking at hardware monitor tool)
Are there any monitoring tool for such old database or I have to do it manually?

  • Monitoring Oracle HTTP Server

could anyone provide steps to monitor Oracle HTTP Server?
In the agent: i could find Apache http server only.
do i need to install Oracle Application Server? which in turn can be used to monitor Oracle HTTPServer.
    Any guidance would be helpful.
    thanks.

According to this blog http://gcmw.blogspot.com/2009/07/monitoring-apache-http-server-from.html the discovering of Oracle HTTP Server is done automatically (after installing the agent of course). I wouldn't know why that should differ in 11g.

    Hi all,
Is there any way to monitor oracle secure backup by cloud control 12c.
    regards,

The steps are as you reported in your initial thread:
I have tried to show Oracle Secure Back in my EM as described in its Admin Guide
    a. Navigate to the ORACLE_HOME/hostname_SID/sysman/config directory
and open the emoms.properties file in a text editor.
    b. Set osb_enabled=true and save the file.
    c. Stop the Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control console as follows:
    emctl stop dbconsole
    d. Restart the Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control console as follows:
    emctl start dbconsole
But after this setting i am not able to see any thing in my EM.
If this doesn't work, then please file a TAR
