Monitoring Interfaces /Integration Scenario's

Hi,
I got a task of Monitoring integration scenario's.
What are the other option available except: Data at Receiving application, RWB, Integration Engine and J2EE logs
  to monitor interfaces.
How to do Error Handling in the case of file2file scenario?.

Hi,
There are some good documents available in SDN for XI monitoring, check the following links:

    Hello Friends,
I am modeling the integration scenario for 1:N Mapping case, that is 1 outbound Interface and  3 inbound Interfaces. I am finding difficultly in modeling the integration scenario for enhanced interface determination.
Kindly provide me inputs in configuring this case.
    Thanks

    Have you look this help?

    2.      Integration Directory: Define the interface determination.
    Note the following:
    ○     The outbound interface of the multi-mapping must be entered as the sender interface in the key of the interface determination.
    ○     The interface determination type must be set to Enhanced.
    ○     Select the multi-mapping you defined previously from the Integration Repository.
To select the interface mapping, use the input help ().
The target interfaces of the interface mapping are displayed in the Inbound Interfaces frame.
The number of messages (for an inbound interface) created in the mapping step is displayed in the Occurrence column.

  • Interface Mapping for enhanced Receiver Determ. in Integration Scenario

    Hi guys,
Defining Integration scenario is a pleasant way working with XI.
But how to define the step "enhanced receiver determination" via message mapping in a scenario?
has anybody come along to this issue?
    Kind regards
    Jochen

    hi,
You use an enhanced receiver determination to have a mapping program determine the receivers of the message dynamically at runtime. Instead of creating the receivers in the receiver determination manually, you assign a mapping to the receiver determination and this returns a list of receivers at runtime.
A typical usage case is if you do not yet know the names of the receivers at configuration time. In this case, you can define a mapping program, for example, which reads a list of receivers from a table or from the payload of the message at runtime.

  • Threshold for Messages in integration scenario?

    Hi,
Can we set threshold (time) for Messages in integration scenario?
    Thanks,
    Nagarjuna.

    Hi Earlence,
    > 1. Is it possible to search for messages sent to PI (7.1) via TREX and monitor their status?
Status I am not aware, but we can search the messages based on the content.
Its external search engine for SAP, we can buy this and install in the XI server.
ex : Suppose we have an order number, we don't no in which scenario it is used then we give
this number to the TREX then it searches and gives that scenarion name.
    > 2. Search should be possible based on various criteria like Sender/Receiver Component/Interface, Business system name etc.
TREX is based on a client/server architecture. The client component is integrated into the application that uses the TREX functions, and allows communication with the TREX servers. The server component processes the requests; it indexes and classifies documents and answers search queries.

  • One integration scenario Many target system and Outgoing compressed data

I have some theoretical questions about XI usage.
At first, I'm not quite sure about the following thing: for example we have a corporate system and a lot of mobile computers (let's name them "clients") with installed small databases. Number of clients is not constant, but integration scenario is one for all of them. Next, if we add new client we must add new technical system, business system, communication channel, configure scenario, add required receiver and interface determination, and so on and so on. If we remove client we also must do all these steps. In this case, is it possible in XI (anywhere) to automate these procedures of scenario configuration? For example create something like business system template with communication channels or have one business system and a lot of communication channels in one integration scenario (in this way I suppose that message will be delivered to target system on the message content-based routing) and quickly activate/deactivate this channels (in fact receiver determination).
At second, we know that XI can receive and send compressed data if client initiates communication with XI. Anybody know about reverse functionality, when XI initiates communication with target system and compresses data (on the understanding that target system is able to receive and handle compressed data). If anybody know that is possible - can you navigate me to this information?
    Thank you for help,
    Best regards.

    Hi Maxim,
You dont need to create techn and bus systems in SLD for your clients as you can use business services. Of course you have to create a comm channel for every client (receiver address is individual!). Receiver determination and interface determination can be configured dynmamicly with wild cards (*). You can find receivers by condition of payload content.
If you want to change this conditions very quickly (with a customizing table) you can use following trick: Use a ABAP mapping which is reading that table. Unfortunately the message is first routed and then mapped. So you have to send the message over http adapter back to XI, where the changed message is now routed by a condition. Of course a quite complex scenario, the monitoring is even more complex bcoz doubled no of messages (no performance problem - http adapter is never a bottleneck).

  • Integration Scenario

    Hi All,
I am new to XI. I need to know about Integration Scenario. What is it? Why we are using Integration Scenario? How it differs from Integration Process? and how to use Integration Scenario? Give a simple example (like file to file using Integration Scenario).
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nithya

    Hi,
    >>>Integration Scenario,Why we are using Integration Scenario, how to use Integration Scenario
Integration scenario is used to logically relate all XI objects for a particular scenario. It also eases the creation of configuration objects.
You use an integration scenario to define the message exchange and message flow for collaborative processes. Normally, these are processes between different business partners that are generally coupled by the exchange of messages.
The integration scenario provides you with a central point of access for all objects that you require for semantic and technical integration, for example interfaces, mappings, and software components.
You can integrate an executable integration process into an integration scenario.

  • What is integration scenario & integration process in IR?

    hi friends
1).  can any one explain me about Integration scenario and Integration processes in "INTEGRATION REPOSITORY"?
2).  why we need to use this IS & IP(integration scenario and integration processes?
3).  what is advantage of using IS & IP(integration scenario and integration processes?
if you have any related links and documents please refer to me..................
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Bharat,
    Integration Scenario
An integration scenario completely models the exchange of
messages for a collaborative process and provides an overview of the process flow.
It is overview of your whole integration scenario. In Integration Scenario each Swimlane represents a different business system. Mean you will have number of swimlanes as number of business system involved in your integration. Swimlane contains action. Actions are used for mentioning Inbound and outbound interfaces for the corresponding swimlane(business system).
Why we are using Integration Scenario?
We use integration scenario to genearate Integration Directory objects like Receiver Determination, Interface determination, Sender agreeement etc.
All XI content objects must be assigned to one or more integration scenarios (IS). Delivering XI-Content in the framework of an IS has the following advantages:
    1. The IS provides you with a central point of access for all integration objects. This is necessary for semantic and technical integration and facilitates business-driven development.
    2. The IS helps customers to understand the underlying business scenario of XI content objects.
    3. The IS serves as a kick-start for the configuration of the content at the customer site. The aim is to minimize the configuration effort for the customer.

  • Adding a new reciever to an existing integration scenario of conf in PI7.0

    Hi SapAll.
here i have got a requirement to add one more reciever to an existing integration scenario in Integration Directory(Configuration).
this Integration scenario is for sending the idoc MATMAS.MATMAS05 From 5 Different SAP-R/3 Systems to 2 Recievers.
here iam using 5 different business systems with idoc communication channels for sending idocs and 2 business systems for recieving idocs in file format with file adapters.
so when iam trying to create new reciever detarmination or Interface Determination, it says object already exists.
but i can created reciever agreement without any error.
so can anybody guide me on how to create the Interface,Reciever Determinations without any error.
    regards.
    Varma

now i just created a new business system with file communication channel
Why have a Business System for a FILE channel? We normaly use Business Component/ Service.
You mentioned IDOC SENDER channels....why? For IDOC we just create Receiver channels...unless you want to specify IDOC packaging.
when iam trying to create a reciever detarmination from one of the existing sender system say like BUS_SENDER2 to new
reciver system ex:NEW_BUS_RECIEVER it says object already exists.
Receiver Determination can have the same BUS_SENDER2 system/ service as sender....but it should not have the same Interface Name....this is where PI is throwing the error.
There already exists a Receiver Detremination with BUS_SENDER2 as source system and the same message interface.
You can reuse the same RD by just entering one more receiver system/ service below the already existing one (in the RD)
In short just search your ID and you will see a RD created with the source details which you are trying to use.
If you want to see a difference, then create a new sender service/ system and then use this to create the RD!
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • Confusion with PI 7.1 with integration scenario

    Hi, expert,
I read a lot of documents before I have physically logged on to PI 7.1, I thought I had a very good idea about the new version. However when I am physically in PI 7.1, I found I get a little confused.
I know ES is a big thing in 7.1, but I will be working on integration (integration scenario), I thought this part is not changed from 7.0 to 7.1. Basically in 7.0, you defined message type and message interface, message mapping and interface mapping, then you go to ID to configure the integration scenario. However in 7.1, you do not have message interface anymore, instead, we have service interface under which you define operations, which is fine from ES perspective. But if I am only interested in integration, what I need is like PI 7.0: outbound interface, mapping, inbound interface, NOT the operation. Now how can I define 7.0 message interface in PI 7.1? (I know operation mapping is 7.0 interface mapping).
    Can I make following understanding?
    1) Operation in 7.1 is like messag interface in 7.0
    2) Service Interface is a tool to group multiple related operations under one roof.
    3) To define integration scenario, I do NOT need the modeling. Modeling is only relevant to model ES, NOT for integration scenario.
So if I am only interested in integration scenario, what is changed from PI 7.0 to PI 7.1?
    Thanks for advice
    Jayson

    > Can I make following understanding?
    > 1) Operation in 7.1 is like messag interface in 7.0
Service Interface with one operation whose name is same as the service interface and Xi 3.0 compatible type is same as 7.0 Message Interface
    > 2) Service Interface is a tool to group multiple related operations under one roof.
    Yes.
    > 3) To define integration scenario, I do NOT need the modeling. Modeling is only relevant to model ES, NOT for integration scenario.
    Yes.
    >
    > So if I am only interested in integration scenario, what is changed from PI 7.0 to PI 7.1?
I did not work much on this area but, as long as you are replacing the interface mapping with operation mapping things must be pretty much same here. For your information, Integration scenario is not a compulsion unless u want to represent the scneario graphically and create the ID objects automatically.
You can create the ID objects manually whitout creating an integration scenario on ESR.

  • Configuration Scenario for BPM Using Integration Scenario

    hi All,
I Have an Scenario where i am using BPM. Most of the blog tells about manually creating all Configuration objects. I had created an Integration Scenario for this scenario by referring to the earlier threads available for same.
Hoe to Create Integration Scenario for BPM Scenario
Integration Scenario in BPM  and few more.
    My IS looks like
Sender App Component - Integration Process - Receiver App Component
Now when i am trying to create Configuration scenario for same using model configurator, i am getting Model as "Not Configurable"
And when i click "Configurability Check" Button, i am getting below as status:
Component view IS_POC_BPM: Connection from receivePayload to getABSPayload does not have an inbound service interface
Component view IS_POC_BPM : Connection from sendABSPayload to getPayload has no outbound interface
getABSPayload and sendABSPayload are actions for Abstract interfaces.
IS_POC_BPM is the Integration Process Name.
Also in Integration Scenario, when i create connection between sender action to BPM action there is no inbound interface coming. And viceversa.
Please help me in identifying if i am doing any thing wrong in creating this scenario.
Is it possible to create Configuration Scenario for BPM Using Integration Scenario?
    Thanks,
    Mayank
Edited by: Mayank  Gupta on Apr 21, 2010 6:35 AM

I think you shoudl refer the available Integration Scenarios created for BPMs in IR --> SAP BASIS --> http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Patterns
Sender template will have the Action with Outbound Service Interface and then in the BPM Template the action will have Inbound Interface.....then within the BPM itself this inbound will be mapped to Action with Abstract Interface
may be after looking the Integration scenarios you will get more idea

  • Multiple message mappings in one integration scenario

I am trying to send a message to a marketplace that uses a web service interface. First I have to map the SRM PO to OAGIS XML, then This must be embedded in the message of the web service which requires a further mapping. In the integration scenario in the repository it seems straight forward, however the configuration of the scenario in the directory seems a little strange. This becaue the middle step does not really have an eternal receiver, as it must stay in the integration engine until the final conversion. Is it actually possible to perform several mapping in series or must I use an integration process for the middle mapping?

    Andrew,
I am addressing the same problem as follows.
If you need a canonical mapping (such as OAGIS in your example) you need 2 mappings for 3 messages A(source) to B(canonical) to C(target). If you try to use XI (without BPM) as an action between the source and the target need to configure a channel in and out which as far as I can see is not possible.
When setting multi-mapping you seem to only have the folowing options:
Multiple source and multiple targets but this seems to limit you to one mapping program.
Multiple mappings if I have only one source and one target.
I think this is designed to map one or many sources to one or many targets in one mapping program.
Also you can apply a series of mapping programs to a single source and target pair.
If I understand Michal's solution you would define A as the source and C as the target. You then use multi mapping to get to the final result, but I think this is still on a single source and target. A second solution is to include multiple mappings as additional modules in the channel adpator.
To take advantage of the canonical approach I am using a simple integration process with a receive and send step. All this realy does is get round the problem you highlight of having to have channels for the middle action in your integration scenario. This is an overhead but does allow you to add splitting and combining messages if needed in the future without much additional configuration.
I can't see an easy option without BPM. Maybe there is an alternative but I can't find it. Maybe a next release of XI could include an interface mapping configuration that allows a sequnce of mapping betweem multiple pairs of maps:
    Seq  Source -
    Mapping Program   -
    Target
    1 -
      Message A  -
      Mapping Program 1 -
        Message B
    2 -
       Message B  -
      Mapping Program 2 -
        Message C
    I hope this helps.

  • Problem for Bapi Call  in Integration Scenario

    Hi
I am creating an Integration Scenario at Design time which can be used during configuration time.In the Int. Scenario, I am using a Int Process(BPM). I am making a synchronous call to BAPI from my BPM. How can this be implemented in Integration Scenario.
So how can I send a input message from BPM to BAPI and then take further steps only after getting response from BAPI. Is there any way to define synchronous Action in Int Scenario??? And another point to be noted is that we are not using any communication channel to send the message from BPM or receive the response in BPM. We have only a receiver communication channel which receives the message for the BAPI.
So please help in solving this problem.
    regards,
    Biranchi

    > Thanks for ur reply. I am trying to follow the suggestion given by u. U have specified that the BAPI  in R/3 system has to be inserted as an application component. But I am unable to do that. I am using IDES system for the BAPI,but in the selection screen for the Application Component we have only instances of installed product in the SLD. So how to find out the application component to be imported.
    >
What you need to do is, first of all your import the BAPI (RFC) into XI system. (I hope you must be knowing how to import the RFC & IDOCs into XI system). Make sure this BAPI is remote-enabled under attribute TAB in R3 ---> SE37.
Now this imported BAPI (RFC) will be used in your message interfaces and this message interface will be used inside ACTION. And then you can use this action in your Integration Secnario as mentioned in the picture above in my first reply.
Sorry for the confusion, you need to R3 business system name rather inserting the BAPI as a business system under 3rd swim lane.
    > And another problem is that I have to create an action for in the application Component containing BAPI and then it should be connected to the action in BPM for interaction. I have created one action for this and given the BAPi as both outbound and inbound interface. Is this the proper way to do this???
    >
As mentioned above, after you import the BAPI (RFC) in XI you can create the messge interface. There should be two Message Interfaces. One for sending the request and other for receiving the response message.

  • Integration scenario and configuration scenario - is it madatory

    Hi,
Integration Scenarios are not mandatory, the reason for creating them is given in the blog you mentioned:
The advantages of defining integration scenarios in the Integration Builder (design tool) are as follows:
    · The integration scenario provides you with an overview of the process and the process flow
    · The integration scenario club together all objects like SWVC,Interface objects, mapping objects, integration processes. You can access all of these objects from the integration scenario.
    · The integration scenario gives you the design time information which is required for its configuration.
The configurtation items are getting created.
    Regards
    Patrick

    Hi Priya,
       There are two things here.
    1) Create the Integration Scenario in the IR.
    2) Use the wizard to configure the integration scenario in ID.
The Integration scenario created in the IR acts as a template to create the configuration objects in ID.
The wizard will create the actual configuration objects only (not just documentation).
But creating integration scenarios is not mandatory.
YOu can as well create all the configuration objects manually.
Generally, you will go for Integration scenarios if you are building a general purpose product (Product based ).
If it is a project that you are building for a particular customer, you can chose to create the configuration objects using the configuration scenario approach.

  • How to use objects from other SWCs in my BPM Integration Scenario

    Dear all,
I am experiencing some difficulties with the following. I have created a BPM Integration Scenario in a SWC. It contains a tranformation step in which a message from that SWC is split and mapped to two IDOCs. These IDOCs are imported in anothern SWC which I use for common objects. I have created Abstract Message Interfaces based on these IDOCs in this "COMMON" SWC, but the probIem is that I cannot use them in my scenario in the other SWC. Even though I have a usage dependency (Installation Time) created to the "COMMON" SWC.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!
    Thanks in advance.
Will happily provide points for good answers.

Thus, I would have to copy/import all objects to the same SWC?
Or create a separate SWC for BPM Integration scenarios?
I have tried to create the Abstract Message Interface in the SWC and reference it to the IDOC structure in the "COMMON" SWC. This results in a reference to an invalid object during activation. Even though the defined usage dependency.
    What's the standard solution?
    Cheers,
    Auke
