More interoperability issues : DOM Element return type

Hi,
Tested JDev9.0.3 a bit further. I have a BC4J Application Module exposed method which returns an XMLElement object (the XML dump for a specific query result on a BC4J View Object) once it gets called. I've generated a Web Service Class on the Application Model.
I've tried to test test this Web Service class locally in JDev 9.0.3 using a local main routine... no problem. However when I deploy the webservice to my OC4J environment and try to access the service using the generated stub/skeleton I get yet another exception:

Any ideas, anyone?

To follow up on my previous post. I've inspected the data going back-and-forth using the TCP Packet Monitor. Strangely (or not) enough this shows me the response document seems to be okay. I don't understand why the error message a shown in my previous post occurs.

  • RPCElement instanceof org.w3c.dom.Element returned false??

    I use AXIS api to write a client-side SOAP application and am encountering a very weird problem that org.apache.axis.message.RPCElement instanceof org.w3c.dom.Element returned false. Here's the snippet:
    Object obj= call.invoke(params);
         if (obj instanceof Collection) {
                             System.out.println("--------------TEST OBJ2:" + obj.getClass().toString());
                             if (((Collection) obj).size() == 1) {
                                  obj = ((Collection) obj).iterator().next();
                                  System.out.println("--------------TEST OBJ3:" + obj.getClass().toString());
    System.out.println("--------------TEST RESPONSE OBJECT TYPE:" + obj.getClass().toString());
                    System.out.println("--------------TEST RESPONSE OBJECT TYPE Name:" + obj.getClass().getName());
                    System.out.println("--------------Element:" + Element.class.getName());
                    System.out.println("--------------TEST obj instanceof Element:" + (obj instanceof Element));Here's the output:

  • How to instantiate a DOM Element in Forms to call Web Service?

    Hi All,
    I need to call a Java Class that has been converted into PL/SQL in order to run a Web Service.
    The PL/SQL function looks like this:
    -- Method: GetPIValue (Lorg/w3c/dom/Element;)Ljava/util/Vector;
    FUNCTION GetPIValue(
    obj ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT,
    a0 ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT) RETURN ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT IS
    BEGIN
    cls := JNI.GET_CLASS('oracle/forms/demos/webservice/ConnectToPI');
    mid := JNI.GET_METHOD(FALSE, cls, 'GetPIValue', '(Lorg/w3c/dom/Element;)Ljava/util/Vector;');
    args := JNI.CREATE_ARG_LIST(1);
    JNI.ADD_OBJECT_ARG(args, a0, JNI.GET_CLASS('org/w3c/dom/Element'));
    RETURN JNI.CALL_OBJECT_METHOD(obj, mid, args);
    END;
    where "a0" is of org.w3c.dom.Element argument that is passed into the function as an obj_java.jobject.
    How can I create an ELEMENT object and call this function by passing this Element and its related Attributes. I have tried the following so far but I am getting this ERROR "Unable to call out to Java, Argument 1 can not be null.
    Element.setAttribute(param_1,
    'piTAG',
    'A3TI006.pv');
    It seems to be Complaining about "param_1" and it CANNOT BE NULL. How can I initialize or Create such an Object in Oracle Forms?
    Does any one have a Sample on how to Create an Element Object in PL/SQL?
    Your help is much appreciated.

    Baz

    Hi
    Are you not cancelling the document with reference to the original document. In this system will not allow you to change the quantity.
    Also, refer to enhancement MBCF0005

  • Extends collection using generic type of org.w3c.dom.Element

    Hi, all.
    I am trying to extending collection using PriorityBlockingQueue.
    Extended queue is generic type of org.w3c.dom.Element.
    public class MyQueue<Element> extends PriorityBlockingQueue<Element> {***/}
    Compiler misunderstand to type of Element (as like E ?, not org.w3c.dom.Element), then methods in the code "this.peek ()" will be error reported by type difference.
    At fact, I tried it into MyQueue<Node> extends PriorityBlockingQueue<Node>, it not causes any misunderstanding.
    Is there any hack to indicates that the type is org.w3c.dom.Element ? This mean, MyQueue<org.w3c.dom.Element> extends PriorityBlockingQueue<org.w3c.dom.Element>...
    Thanks.

    public class MyQueue extends PriorityBlockingQueue<org.w3c.dom.Element>

  • Overloading hassle with no args, different return types

    We're trying to create a document object that can be parsed from XML with xerces and then used as the model for a jtree and a styled-text editor. That means we want to:
    1. subclass stuff from org.w3c.dom
    2. implement interfaces from javax.swing.tree
    3. implement interfaces from javax.swing.text
    We figured that since they all represent similar tree structures, this would be a nice and clever thing to do.
    Hit a snag this morning:
    * org.w3c.dom.Node.getAttributes() returns NamedNodeMap
    * javax.swing.text.Element.getAttributes() returns AttributeSet
    So, our class gets a compile error on the conflicting return types for what it thinks is the same method.
    Any suggestions for what to do? Abandoning xerces isn't an option, and rewriting styled text ourselves isn't practial either.
    --Chris (invalidname)

    This is the problem with multiple inheritance. In C++, the problem is more pronounced because you can inherit two implmentations of the same method.
    In Java, whenever you inherit two methods with the same signature, even if the return types are the same, you have a similar problem. These two methods will likely have two different contracts, and you cannot fulfuill both contracts with one method.
    Example:
    interface Graphical { /** Draw object on screen */ void draw() { } }
    interface CardDeck { /** Draw a card */ void draw() { } }
    class CardGame implements Graphical, CardDeck { /** ??? */ void draw() { } }It is unfortunate that you're inheriting two different getAttributes() methods. You'll have to use composition and delegation instead of inheritance to get around the problem.

  • Issue with xsd Data type mapping for collection of user defined data type

    Hi,
    I am facing a issue with wsdl for xsd mapping for collection of user defined data type.
    Here is the code snippet.

    In the above wsdl the collection of fintObjInst if of type xs:anytype. From the wsdl, I do not see the xsd mapping for AccountIC which includes Name and Desc. Due to which, when invoking the web service from a different client like c#(by creating proxy business service), I am unable to set the parameters for AccountIC. I am using JAX-WS stack and WLS 10.3. I have already looked at blog http://weblogs.java.net/blog/kohlert/archive/2006/10/jaxws_and_type.html but unable to solve this issue. However, at run time using a tool like SoapUI, when this wsdl is imported, I am able to see all the params related to AccountIC class.
    Can some one help me with this.
    Thanks,
    Sudha.

    Did you try adding the the XmlSeeAlso annotation to the webservice
    @XmlSeeAlso({<package.name>.AccountIC.class})
    This will add the schema for the data type (AccountIC) to the WSDL.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error while creating Communication Channel- No SLD elements of type  SAP_XI

    Hi Experts,
    I am getting an error when i am tring to create an Communication channel for File Adapter .
    Error message:
    No SLD elements of type  SAP_XI Adapter Framework Found.
    Could you let me know how to proceed and fix the issue.
    Regards

    Hi Kiran,
      Your Adapter Framework is probably not registered in the SLD.... perform the action as follows:
    1. In the J2EE administrator tool in cluster - server - services - deploy
    stop the J2EE applications:
    a. sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.service.cpa.monitor
    b. sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.
    2. Restart the sap.com/com.sap.aii.af application.
    Refer sapnote in chapter 8.2 for more in the link provided below on Trouble shooting.

  • Org.w3c.dom.Element to javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement

    I have a org.w3c.dom.Element that I want to insert into an existing SOAPBody using

    into a javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement so that I can do that?
    Steve Watson

    Hi Steve,
    Here's a code segment that may be of some value.
    Bruce
         public SOAPElement populateSOAPElement(SOAPEnvelope envelope,
    SOAPElement element, Element sndElement) throws SOAPException{
    int i, j;
    NamedNodeMap map;
    Node node;
    NodeList list;
    SOAPElement subElement;
    //populate attributes
    map = sndElement.getAttributes();
    for (j = 0; j < map.getLength(); j ++)
    node = map.item(j);
    element.addAttribute(envelope.createName(node.getNodeName()),
    sndElement.getAttribute(node.getNodeName()));
    //populate the element value and subElements
    list = sndElement.getChildNodes();
    for (j = 0; j < list.getLength(); j ++)
    short type = list.item(j).getNodeType();
    String typeString = "";
    if (list.item(j).getNodeType() == 3)
    element.addTextNode(list.item(j).getNodeValue());
    if(list.item(j).getNodeType() == 1)
    subElement =
    element.addChildElement(((Element)list.item(j)).getTagName());
    subElement = populateSOAPElement(envelope, subElement,
    (Element)list.item(j));
    return element;

  • How to know return type in Web service

    {color:#0000ff}I am writing a web service client application. After invoking the service it gets the result as SOAP massage. But i need to know the return type also. How can i do that?
    {color}
    here is the response obtained from web service after invoking a subtract method, it is giving correct value but doesn't give tye of value.
    <ns:SubtractResponse xmlns:ns="http://example.ws"><ns:return>81</ns:return></ns:SubtractResponse>

    View WSDL(Web Service Description Language) file of the web service. Normally WSDL file of any web service can be referenced by appending "wsdl" at the end of web service URL. e.g. http://www.abs.com/mywebservice/invokewebservice?wsdl
    Shazzad wrote:

How can i do that?WSDL file for a web service contains all information regarding the web service like types, message, portType, binding, service etc. Types section have schema definitions of all messages which are being used in web service. here you can find everything about all elements, fields for all the messages in the WebService including type of the values.
    You can find more about WSDL on Sun and Google very easily.
    Hope this will help.

  • How to create a webservice with return type File

    Hi All,
    I have a class Letter and I am trying to expose viewReport as webservice.
    In Jdeveloper -> Business teir -> webservices -> Java web service and I have selected my method i.e. viewReport
    Now it throws error "The return type java.io.File of method viewReport can not be serialized into XML"
    I unserstood the issue but How can I achive this in JDeveloper
    public class Letter {
    public Letter() {
    super();
    public File viewReport(String name) {
    File folder = new File("C:\\APPS\\root\\pdf\\10052011");
    File[] listOfFiles = folder.listFiles();
    return listOfFiles[0];
    }

    You can't as File is nor serializable. It won't make sense as you would try to give a handle to a file on the server hosting the service to a remote system.
    Can you explain the use case in more detail?
    Timo

    Hi,
    Create an Interface to your application Module then from interface call your method,
    refer http://www.oraclearea51.com/oracle-technical-articles/oa-framework/oa-framework-beginners-guide/213-how-to-call-am-methods-from-controller-without-using-invokemethod.html for creating Interface for AM and calling it in controller.

  • EJB3 Creating Web Services with Complex Return Types

    Hi
    Not sure if this is the right place, but hoping someone can help!
    I have an entity bean that has a collection (list<Address>) of sub-entities. I have then created a session bean to retrieve the Business and populate it's children.
    I then expose this as a web service and although it works and I get appropriate XML out, the WSDL of the deployed service is not as I would like.
    For example:
    The return type is
    <complextype name="Business">
    <sequence>
    <element name="id" type="int"/>
    <element name="addresses" type="ns1:list"/>
    </sequence>
    </complextype>
    <complextype name="Address">
    <sequence>
    <element name="id" type="int"/>
    <element name="addresses1" type="string"/>
    <element name="addresses2" type="string"/>
    <element name="addresses3" type="string"/>
    </sequence>
    </complextype>
    ns1:list is included as a separate schema as a complex extension of the base "collection"
    So, even though the Address type is there it is not referenced from Business.
    So, when I'm calling the Web Service from BPEL or ESB, I have not got the ability to map adequately back from the response.
    I have tried a whole bunch of ways of getting this to work, but so far to no avail...
    Has anyone seen this before, or can I somehow override the mapping from the Entity to the WSDL?
    Any help would be most appreciated.
    Thanks
    Chris

    Thanks. We are using a Java Proxy to consume the web service as we need to use JAX-WS handlers. We created data control from the service stub that was created by the proxy. Our issue is with the response XML which comes as a complex type. Also, the data control is understanding the complex type and is creating the structure right. The problem is when we drag that control on a JSF page. No data is displayed. We think that we are not traversing the complex object properly which is creating the issue.
    I understand that you answer related to the input is applicable to output as well. We can change the structure by flattening it but we thought that in 11G there is some new features where we can use the complex types out of the box without any change. Is that true? Also, any luck in finding the documents (broken links) on your blog page?
