Mountain Lion is causing havoc with Safari ...
I am at my wits end! After many Apple tech calls, tons of advice, you name it we've done it! BUT still Safari keeps crashing, pages will not load, iTunes and App Store also playing up. Every few moments my MacBook Pro keeps telling me "I'm not connected to the internet" BUT, again I am always connected! It's completely beyond me, icons missing, unable to load web pages and that darned beach ball keeps appearing even when loggin on. Sometimes, but only sometimes everything seems to work as it should and then you know "You're not connected" etc. etc. I did not have any trouble with Lion and 10.8.1 does not seemed to have helped at all. Is anyone, anywhere having a nightmarish time with OS X (10.8.1)???? aka Mountain Lion! ANY help or advice appreciated but apart from buying a new MacBook Pro (this one is only 3 years old) I think we have already tried everything including removing dozens of files under instructions from Apple Tech. An example is that it took me 10 minutes to get to the support page (not connected) after quitting Safari 3 times...enough! arrrrrh!
Can you tell me if I should uncheck Enable Java in Safari Preferences?
You can try but doubtful that's related to your internet connection.
Try this ...
Go to Safari > Preferences then select the Security tab.
Deselect: Enable plugins
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If you are able to post here then post a crash report. It might save you a trip to an Apple store.

I have mountain lion OSX and parallels with Windows. Every time I click on a hyperlink in other applications it opens - some 7 Zip file explorer inside Parallels but doesn't go to Safari. Does anyone know solution?
I suggest that you run software update, after which you should have Safari 6.0.5 - then check Safari - Preferences - Privacy & see that 'Block cookies' is not set to Always.
Failing that - switch Safari extensions Off via Safari - Preferences - Extensions & test again -
for some reason osx mountain lion has disappeared from my purchases and now when i want to install mountain lion on another mac with the same apple id it wants to charge me for the program even though i have already purchased it. what do i do?
Open the Mac App Store on the other Mac and in the Quick Links sign into your account. See if the Mountain Lion purchase is among hidden apps in the iCloud area of your account info.

i have an iMac with mountain lion 10.8.3 with boot camp 5.0.2 .i installed windows 7 -64 bit with boot camp but the boot camp didn't install drivers for windows please guide me for trouble shooting .
Kappy wrote:
Boot Camp doesn't install the drivers. You have the drivers on a separate USB device if you followed directions. Once in Windows connect the USB drive with the driver software. It should startup automatically and install the drivers.
You don't even need to do that. As downloading the drivers from within Boot Camp Assistant can be unreliable, it is better to get the package directly from here:

Copy the .zip file to a USB flash drive or burn it to a DVD in OS X. Install Windows as normal, insert the flash drive/DVD in Windows, copy the .zip file to the hard drive, extract it, then run the setup executable. -
"OSX Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer."
I bought a MacBook Pro (13" retina display) today. Tried to update software. Error mesage said to ujpdate OS. When I tried to, error message said, "OS X Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer." Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?
All owners of the model seem to have the same problem. Presently there is no 10.8.2 updater for your model. The previous updater has been pulled. Wait a while and one will show up when Apple gets it fixed.

I've tried to purchase Mountain Lion but when I click 'buy' I get the message, "We could not complete your purchase. OS X Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer." I'm using an iMac with Lion OS on it, Why is it incompatible?
Your Mac must be one of the following models:
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009)
From here > Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion. -
When attempting to install OS X Mountain Lion I get the following error message "We could not complete your purchase. OS X Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer." Any idea what the issue might be?

There is nothing to overcome, your mac is too old to run Mountain Lion. For an iMac it must be a (Mid 2007 or newer) http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/ -
Ap store says "we could not complete your purchase. OS X Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer". I'm running 10.6.8 duel core intel with 15gb of memory. Any ideas on why I can't download?
Thanks. If the OP has this much RAM in their iMac, certain this Mac can run Mountain Lion.
The reason it might not be installing is that 15 GBs of RAM.
Your iMac should have (4) equal sized, 4 GB sticks of RAM for a total of 16 GBs.l
If your iMac is only reporting that there is only 15 GBs of RAM, you have a RAM stick that is either not seated in its slot properly or is defective/going bad.
This maybe the reason that it won't download it.
Also could be you are running out of free space on your HD.
You need, at least 15-20 % or greater free space left on your HD. -
Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer
When will I be able to upgrade my Mac Pro to Mountain Lion:
2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, Memory 13gb 667 MHz DR2 FB-DIMM, 64GB free disk (system), 1TB free other disks, computer age mid 2007, Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.
As of 11/28/12: Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer.I installed Windows 8 Pro on a PC, quickly shutdown and walked it over to my Mac Pro 1,1.
5365s are 8-core and Geekbench in the 8000 pts range.
An apple 2010 refurbished is $1800 also, old 4-core 2.8 but can upgrade easily to W3680 6-core 3.33
I agree running native beats running VM
The issue with getting Windows 64-bit onto 32-bit firmware is just the install phase but a real pain. 64-bit Windows requires, if the system is EFI based. I do have one PC that does use UEFI and Windows 8, another that does not. Both are 2008-9 motherboards (Intel which supports UEFI, and Gigabyte which did not with X58). Apple of course last updated our EFI 1,1 and 2,1 back in 2007. Before UEFI was done standardized etc.
