Mouse left-click not working after first click

I see this issue has been up several times. I have disabled Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant and Java Quick Starter, but still have the problem. I’m using the lastest FF ver. 3.6.6 on Win XP. I think I have had this problem once in a while since FF 3.0 but now it’s almost daily.
Does anyone know what’s causing this?

I replaced my wireless mouse with a wired one, and the problem went away.

Hyperlinks Not Working After First Click AND Message Editable in Inbox

Recently, we have noticed some marketing emails we'd sent out are acting weird when we receive them in Apple Mail.
We are using a reputable email marketing company to send the messages so I assume the formatting should be OK but occasionally the emails we send out:
1.) Will allow clicking a hyperlink once but not again. By this, I mean you can click on the link and launch the default browser and visit the link but, if you go back to the message and hover over the link, the cursor is an I beam instead of the link cursor.
2.) The message, while still in the Inbox, is actually editable! This might be the crux of the link issue since, if Mail is authoring a message, it won't allow you to click on a link (but will once the message has been sent and is in the Sent folder.
Other details:
a.) The hyperlink cursor will actually fail any time you have clicked inside the message body. So clicking the link the first time counts as clicking inside the message body.
b.) Closing and reopening the offending message will reset the message so you can click successfully once again.
c.) If you close the message that is "edited" it will not be saved.
This is happening on several OS and Mail combinations. (OS 10.5.8 and Mail 3.6, 10.6.4 and Mail 4.3 and 10.6.6 Mail 4.4)
We've only noticed this on emails that emanate from our email marketing company but it could be happening with others. We were wondering if there is some formatting they use that could cause this or if it's an Apple Mail bug.
Very hard to diagnose. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. Let me clarify: not sure how it could be an Apple Mail preference thing since the problem seems to track certain messages more than anything and the problem appears in at least 3 Mail apps versions on 3 different computers across 3 different operating systems. That would be a pretty coincidental preference anomaly!
And yes, I said it could be happening with others; the operative word is "could". I didn't mean to imply by "could" that it indeed was. Just didn't want to rule out that possibility.

Left mouse button does not work after last upgrade on one computer.

Second request -- left mouse button no longer works after latest upgrade. Uninstalled and reinstalled - did not help. Only affected my office computer. Left button works on other three search engines and other programs -- need suggestions...

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

TrackPad physical click not working after upgrade to Mountain Lion

Does anybody know how to get my trackpad working again after upgrading to Mountain Lion?
I recently upgraded my MacBook (13-inch, Late 2009, Intel Core 2 Duo) from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. Everything seems to have gone well, except for trackpad behavior.
The primary problem is that the physical click of the trackpad is now erratic. Sometimes a physical click will work, and other times it will not work.
Note: The "tapping" of the trackpad DOES work consistently. I have confirmed that System Prefs > Trackpad > "Tap to Click" is enabled, and so tapping is not the problem. (The "tap to click" selector does exhibit a unique behavior however--if I DESELECT "tap to click," then the physical click no longer works at all. It looks like the "tap to click" selector can completely disable the physical click of the trackpad, but cannot enable the physical click completely.)
I have also checked the settings on System Prefs > Accessibility > Mouse & Trackpad, but none of those settings affect the physical click of the trackpad.
I tried zapping the PRAM, but that did not change the problem with physical clicking on the trackpad.
Grateful for any ideas...

I ended up taking my MacBook to the Apple Genius Bar. The staff were very helpful.
The apple staff said that there is no known link between the upgrade to Mountain Lion and trackpad misbehavior. In my case, they made some hardware adjustments to the trackpad, and all is working properly again.
Bottom line: if you think that your trackpad misbehavior is related to Mountain Lion, you might want to take it to an Apple Genius Bar. If there really is no connection between Mountain Lion and trackpad behavior, then perhaps they can fix it for you (as happened to be true in my case). But if there IS a connection in some way, it would be helpful for Apple employees to see your evidence firsthand.

Sound from apps/radio/browsers clicks not working after IOS 8.3 update

aafter the new update 8.3 my iPad sounds are not working like "app games" "app news" " sound clicks from keyboard and browser, is someone else having problems with sounds, however, the speakers are working, I went to "music" and it is fine, sound from web browsers stream is fine or playback videos are all ok.
any ideas, I'm lost in this issue, besides the new update made my iPad faster, as well as, the wifi.
how can I contact apple support??. cant send even an email to this guys for an answer? My service tags are over.

Check that the mute switch (top right side switch above volume control) is pushed up OR
pull up from the bottom of the screen to bring up control Center & make sure the bell with a line going through it (mute) is not highlighted. It would only be there if the side switch is set to lock screen rotation.
Settings->Sounds->check the volume slider is up & that lock sounds & keyboard clicks are enabled.
If the first two don't work, try a general reset:
Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings. You won't lose data but will have to log back into your wifi network(s)

Flex 2 TouchPad Right-Click Not Working After Upgrade

Hi, I recently upgraded my Lenovo Flex 2 (15 inch) notebook from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. After upgrading, the right click button on my touchpad stopped working. Suspecting a driver issue, I uninstalled the driver to allow the default Windows driver to take over. The right-click button started to work again, so it's not a hardware problem. However, the touchpad, in general, became erratic and difficult to use. I then downloaded the latest Lenovo Flex 2 touchpad driver for Windows 10. However, the touchpad returned to the way it was after the upgrade and the right-click button does not work. Please help me with this. I need my laptop to function properly during my travels. Try a two-finger click.
You can change your secondary click settings here:
System Preferences > Trackpad > Point & Click > Seconday Click > Select the an option from the drop down

Font Auto-Activation Not Working After First Use

Anyone else seeing this problem, or have a fix? Font auto-activation stops working after the first use. Here's what happens: Open a file that contains a font that is installed, but is disabled in Font Book. The dialog box "Application wants to use the font XXX". Click on Allow. The font will be available, as you expect. Now quit the application. Open the file again - you won't get the dialog box asking permission to use the font, and the font is not available. This happens in Pages 3.0.1 and TextEdit 1.5. It happens for each individual font - in other words, continuing my description, if you now open a second file that has another font that is disabled in Font Book, you'll be asked permission to use it. But once you've allowed a particular font to be used, you won't be asked permission again.

Make a backup. Restore the device as new. Test the issue again. If it persists, your device needs service. If the issue disappears, restore your backup. If it then reappears, then there is some form of corrupt data on the device from the backup. You'll have to restore that data one portion at a time to determine what is causing it, or set up the device as new.

USB Mouse on Hub not working after upgrade to Snow Leopard

Recently upgraded Macbook Pro from Leopard to Snow Leopard. Had a mouse and external HD attached to Mac via a USB Hub. After upgrade, HD is recognized and works fine (use it with Time Machine). Mouse will not work through hub, but is recognized by the system. Mouse is a simple wired USB device and functions fine (works when connected directly to the Mac).
Any idea what might be wrong or what needs to be done to allow the mouse to work again?

we have dev server of obiee on 1.3 and production on obiee 1.5 . when we migrate catalog and rpd from 1.3 server to 1.5 server then Mouse roll hover does not work on 1.5 server....

Touch-pad "click" not working after waking-up from

Hi,
I hope the subject is kind of a give away. Basically, I've finally gotten around to sorting out ACPI for my Dell 9600 laptop. I've configured, via KLaptop, for the machine to go into Standby when I close the lid. This works ok except that when I resume, my touchpad isn't as fully functional as before. In particular, I can't "click" with the pad by tapping on it, as is the normal way I use it.
I can't imagine why this suddently stops working. Does anyone have any clues? Below is the relevant section of my acpid log, if it helps.

I think you have to toggle the synaptics driver... if you check the output from X you should have like "Synapitics Device On/Off" if you switch to a console... I'm not sure how to control it, but I have a feeling that shut off and never restarted

"End contact" not working on first click

Hello everyone,
We're currently developing the ICWC in CRM 5.0 with a CLM extension pack.
We're having a problem with the End Interaction button. The functionality behind it (raising the events, saving transactions, ending the current customer) are all working perfectly, so when End Interaction is pressed, the IC navigates back to the default views and so on.
And now the problem: the contact information is not cleared from the Contact Information Box in the contextareapage. I already debugged the whole thing for some days now and I'm quite sure that the problem is somewhere with a refresh and maybe at javascript level.
The context area custom controller display_name and company_name variables are empty, even when the view is loaded (breakpoint in contextareapage.htm) but still the information is shown on the screen. When I play around with other functions in the contextareapage (like pressing back on the history breadcrumb, opening the scratchpad, pressing the end contact button again and so on) makes the contact information dissapear so this makes me think that a javascript refresh function was not called correctly.
We already replaced quite some views now but we did not touch the contextareapage itself. I debugged the end contact procedure in our Z profile together with the SAP default profile and I don't see ANY difference, all the correct custom controllers are registered for the correct events and so on.
I already tried to launch some javascript functions from the contextareapage (ic_base_contextarea_scripts.js) like updateCallerInfo(), interactionEnded() but without luck. (I launched the javascripts by placing them in <script> tags on the bupasearch.htm page, this page is called when the interaction is ended)
Could someone help me on track again?
I know that the MCM thing is responsible for injecting(?) javascripts in the required pages but don't know how to use it, maybe someone has any info on this?

Thanks for your suggestion! Creating a new profile and adding everything step by step was my last resort but I wasn't that desperate yet
Anyway, just if people would encounter the same problem, I solved the problem by changing the javascript ic_base_contextarea_scripts.js and cleared myself the contact information box variables when the end contact button was clicked.
I added following lines to the function wsb_handler(event) at the context

Trackpad click not working after Mountain Lion update

I updated computer in question, a 2009 MacBook, to Mountain Lion today, and it appeared to work. It installed, then I was prompted with a log-in screen. I entered my Apple ID and password, but was unable to click go. Easily hit enter instead; this worked. The next screen, however is a Terms and Conditions one with only the options of "Back" and "Next." I cannot click on either of these. The mouse moves around perfectly when I use the track pad, but I am unable to choose anything by clicking and therefore cannot get past this screen and to my computer. Any help?? Thank you!

Magic Mouse, Trackpad, Bluetooth not working after Mountain Lion install

Is anyone else having the same issue after installing ML? I first noticed that my Magic Mouse didn't scroll as usual when I opened Safari. When I went to preferences, it only gave me tracking & double-click speed options- no scrolling options. I check the Accessibility preferences, but that didn't seem to help either. When I tried my Trackpad to check the preferences, it said that one wasn't connected, even though that's exactly what I used to open it in the first place. Now when I look at the top right hand corner for Bluetooth connectivity- it says Bluetooth- not available in a grayed out font. When I check out the About My Mac and check the Hardware->Bluetooth section it says 'No information found'.
I've tried the SMC/PRAM reset, unclicked "Disable automatic login" option in Security & Privacy preference page. Shut down my iMac and turned off the keyboard, mouce, and trackpad and restarted them after restarting the iMac.
Now I can seem to find anything else to try.
Does anyone have anything else to try?

Search window in safari does not work after first search item

After browsing on web page, entering search term in the search window results in no search. The window will not reset(set default to google)and will not search. Only way of searching is to quit safari, retype or paste the search term ( which is saved as "%20 "indicating that safari interprets this as a web page??).
Very annoying. Is it to do with safari and linking your webpage/browsing experience???

Go to these 2 locations to see if you have any 3rd party extensions and move anything present in them onto your Desktop to deactivate them:
/Users/YourUsername/Library/Input Managers/
/Library/Input Managers/
Restart Safari to pick up the change. If it works now, you can try moving the items back one by one until you find the culprit.
