Mouseover returns which line of text

Description
List of users will show up in scrolling text field. When the
mouse is over a line of text (the usersname) it lights up (changes
color for that line) and when clicked returns the text in that line
(the usersname).
I did this years ago in Director using the mouseline function
but I can't figure how to do it in flash. Can anyone point to an
example of clue me into a way to do this?
-- thanks

you can try this formula
replace({description field},",",chr(10))
Now it shows the data in each line.
after placing this formula on the report right click and go to format field>common tab>select the option can grow.
Hope this helps!

  • Table Cell Editor which allows to input multiple lines of text...

    Hi there
    Does anyone know how to write a table cell editor which allows users to input multiple lines of text? please provide some sample if possible...
    Thanks
    Ken

    I'm assuming you also want the renderer to display multiple lines? if so, make a class that extends JTextArea and that implements the TableCellEditor and TableCellRenderer interfaces, then set instances of this as the editor and renderer for the TableColumn in question. The implementation of most of the methods in these interfaces is trivial, often just this.setBackground() based on the table.getSelectionBackground() or table.getBackground(), a this.setText() based on the value passed in, then just a 'return this'.
    You might want to make an abstract class which implements these interfaces for you, and which delegates to a simple abstract method that you override to return the renderer/editor component.
    Note that you must use two instances of the class you make, one for the renderer and one for the editor, since it must be able to be able to render the remainder of the table's cells without interfering with the JTextArea performing the editing. (alternatively you could make two classes that extend JTextArea, each just implementing one of the interfaces, but this is more effort I think.) Also note that you must increase the table's row height to get more than one row visible.

    I need to create a flyer which contains as example 33 lines of text in a column. All textlines have to be underlined in a color. I tried this with „Absatzlinie darunter“ (might be „Paragraph line underneath“.
    The short-cut is „Command / Alt / J“, but nowhere I can see any information how to duplicate the underlines.

    Guten Morgen!

  • How to determine the length of a line of text in a multi line text control

    I am working on a simple widget to compare two snippets of text.  The string controls are side by side with a colum of square bools in between
    the two string controls.
    The Bools line up with the lines of text in each string control.  The Bools are used as a quick indicator that at that line point there is a difference
    between the two string controls.
     There is a slider that allows the user to scroll up and down,  the slider scrolls both string controls simutaneously.
    As the string controls are scrolled I will be comparing the left and right lines of text and reflecting the match status in the Bool Colum.
    The reason I need to know the length of the line of text is so each line can be compared against one another.  It is not as simple as counting the
    col width of the string control and parsing the text because if there is a line return the text will word wrap before before it extends all the way accross the string control, which will cause parsing discrepencies.
    Any suggestions on obtaining the multi line string control text character length would be much appreciated.
    Best Regards
    Tim C.

  • Script to determine number of lines of text in a paragraph?

    I'm revisiting an issue I first posted here last summer, thanks to all who offered help, but I've not been able to sort it out.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/455526?tstart=0
    What I'm after is  a 'search function' to insert into a FindChangeByList.
    Jongware suggested the following - but when inserted into my list I can't get it to do anything - it doesn't throw up a Javascript error.
    app.findTextPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing;
    app.findTextPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle = "Callout_3";
    foundItems = app.activeDocument.findText();
    for (var i=foundItems.length-1; i>=0; i--)
      if (foundItems[i].paragraphs[0].lines == 2)
        foundItems[i].paragraphs[0].appliedParagraphStyle = "Callout_2";
      if (foundItems[i].paragraphs[0].lines == 1)
        foundItems[i].paragraphs[0].appliedParagraphStyle = "Callout_1";
    I regularly receive a 'word' document on which I run a 'FindChangeByList' which cleans up and formats the text with a number of GREP/text searches.
    One of the search lines converts a particluar string of text to a paragraph style "Callout_3" (the most common occurence of Callouts).
    This style applies a paragraph rule, above and below the line, to create a coloured block/band out of which said text is reveresed.
    The problem that I have is that the style (because of the paragraph rules), only works correctly if the paragraph has x3 lines of text.
    I have styles set up for every other eventuality - Callout_1 (for single line of text), Callout_2 (for x2 lines of text) etc.
    What I'm looking for is a script that can count the number of lines in the paragraph (once the "Callout_3" style has been applied) and then change the style accordingly to the number of lines in each paragraph/Callout.
    Any further thoughts?
    Steve

    Hi Steve!
    Well, I said it was untested ... Found two major errors. First one is also visible when you manually search for the style "Callout_3". Rather than marking each and every paragraph on its own, InDesign gathers as much as possible. Hence, just testing paragraph[0] would miss out all other paragraphs. Explicitly looping over all paragraphs per "found item" does work.
    The other one is sort of a "syntax" error. Merely testing "lines == 2" does not work -- but it doesn't give an error either! Apparently, it's okay to compare an object ("lines") to a number, even though it doesn't work. The property to check is "lines.length" -- that returns the number of lines for a paragraph.
    Putting it all together results in this script.
    'And now I shall test it,' said Wen. This time he twisted it gently to and fro. 'That si-si-si That simple-ple, eh eheh simple, eh?'
    ... And I tested it.
    app.findTextPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing;
    app.findTextPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle = "Callout_3";
    foundItems = app.activeDocument.findText();
    for (var i=foundItems.length-1; i>=0; i--)
    for (var j=0; j<foundItems[i].paragraphs.length; j++)
      if (foundItems[i].paragraphs[j].lines.length == 2)
       foundItems[i].paragraphs[j].appliedParagraphStyle = "Callout_2";
      if (foundItems[i].paragraphs[j].lines.length == 1)
       foundItems[i].paragraphs[j].appliedParagraphStyle = "Callout_1";

  • I don't want a new row for each line of text

    I have exported a pdf document which is a table full of text in columns (by month). The conversion seems to react randomly so that in some places several lines of text in a column are converted to just one cell (great, just what I want) and then in others, a block of text gets split into a row for each line of text --- very annoying ...
    What would make this happen? Is there a workaround so that you can tell the conversion how to react to blocks of text?
    hope someone can help

    For optimal export the PDF needs to be a well-formed tagged PDF.
    The basic PDF page content has no format, styling, rows, columns,  etc.
    Just objects painted to the PDF page at a specified  location.
    You can return to the authoring file, clean that up to support accessible PDF output, then post process the PDF with Acrobat XI Pro to finalize making the PDF PDF/UA compliant. Export of that would be better.
    You can manually tag the PDF such that it is PDF/UA compliant than export from that . This would provide you better export.
    You can clean up the export you already have.
    Be well...

  • A line of text, tokenizing it using StringTokenizer

    Hello,
    I feel I'm going round in circles, what I have is a line of text a mobile message like these
    25 100
    SEND 2228161 Hello Pete
    RECEIVE 2228161 Hello Chris, how are you?
    SEND 2227765 I hate text speak
    RECEIVE 2228876 wot u on bout
    SEND 2227975 The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog
    SEND 2328161 Simple Simon met a pieman going to the fair
    I'm to extract the message and check it's length, to then put in an array not an ArrayList if it's greater than 25, break it up into tokens. Is this how StringTokenizer works the SEND part is token 1, the mobile number is token 2 and the message is token 3. Or am I making it more difficult than it sounds? Should I just use String.split() method (which I'm confused on how to use). Another question BlueJ seems to read the file and then hang, I have to reset the machine, should,'t I have an EOF somewhere, because I thought I've closed the file here.
    Here's the code so far, the file reads in OK, I get the ouput, for checking purposes

                                System.out.println("This too big");

                                System.out.println("\tmessage = "+tempTokens[1]+"\n\tlength = "+tempTokens[1].length());
                        if (line.startsWith("RECEIVE"))
                            System.out.println("RECEIVE message");

    Hello,
    I am trying to strip out the SEND word and telephone number, leaving me a String to then test the length of and if it's greater than 25 characaters, split it up a number of times and store back into the array.
    message is:
    SEND 2226543 Mary had a little lamb, its fleece was white as snow
    The code I used for the String split works, it returns this String - String[] sendTokens = line.split("\\SEND|[0-9]");Mary had a little lamb, its fleece was white as snow
    I then have to test for the String length, in this case it is 52 characters, split this up into 3 separate strings thus:
    Mary had a little lamb, i
    ts fleece was white as sn
    ow
    I think I have to use the line.length => 25, then split the message up
    What's wrong with the split method, I've used? I've tried every combination, this seems to work, although there are large gaps in the output, like this.
    Christmas is coming the geese are getting fat
    SEND message
    Cristiano Ronaldo plays for Portugal
    SEND message
    Thanks for the advice

  • How to write to multiple lines in text item?

    I tried to write 2 lines in the text item, however only return one line:
    :myqueues.queue :=      'hello' || chr(10) ||'world';
    It gives me only 'hello' in the first line and nothing else in the 2nd line.
    Is there any settings needs to be activated in the property of text item?

    I'm reading a file and imports the strings:
    DECLARE
         v_filename VARCHAR(50);
         v_handle text_io.file_type;
         readline varchar(50);
    BEGIN
         v_filename := get_file_name(file_filter=>'All files(*.*)|*.txt|');
         v_handle := text_io.fopen(v_filename, 'r');
    text_io.get_line(v_handle, readline);
    :myqueues.queue := rtrim(readline);
    text_io.get_line(v_handle, readline);
    :myqueues.queue := :myqueues.queue || chr(10) || rtrim(readline) ;
    text_io.get_line(v_handle, readline);
    :myqueues.queue := :myqueues.queue || chr(10) || rtrim(readline) ;
         text_io.get_line(v_handle, readline);
    :myqueues.queue := :myqueues.queue || chr(10) || rtrim(readline) ;
         text_io.fclose(v_handle);
    END;
    This function reads the file and returns 4 strings, each of which takes one line in one record of text item.
    My question is: can I get 4 records, assigning each with one string from the input file?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
    I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I drop a line in text messages? With my BlackBerry Bold 9780 I pressed "alt" and "enter" and it would drop down a line. I've tried that with my BlackBerry Q10 with no success.

  • Safari (and Firefox) rendering huge spaces between lines of text.

    I have a Mac user (a designer, a PC guy outside of work) who has somehow managed to screw up the rendering of text in Safari.
    On his Mac in both Safari and Firefox when a couple of lines of text from a website should render as:
    1st line of text.
    2nd line of text.
    Instead render as:
    1st line of text.
    2nd line of text.
    Has anyone else seen this? Considering he also gets to mess around with his fonts since he a) uses suitcase, and b) is a designer, I am thinking he has either messed up his browser fonts, or possibly corrupted some of his system fonts by importing some of the very broken font/type sets which Windows allows to be used.
    Once he takes off for the day I'll be able to figure out for sure what he's done, but in the mean time while he's trying to customize his Porche with a Lada engine I'm searching for similar experiences and solutions.
    Thanks.

    I'm having the same problem with the main apple home page with Safari --extra returns--and it's also happening with Complex HTML message in Entourage (Office 2004)--not all, just messages with tables. The html rendering engine for Entourage, I believe, is Safari. I've updated to the latest versions of Panther and Office and even changed fonts, thrown away preferences. I still have the extra returns.
    Does anyone know if Safari is the html rendering engine for Entourage 2004? I know that Internet Explorer was the engine for Office X.
    Does anyone have a suggestion to fix this?
    Thanks,

  • How can I return all line in a file that matches using regexp

    Hi!
    I want to return whole line from a file. This lines must to contains matches for a pattern.
    How Can I do this.
    I make some samples, but only return the matches segment of the line.
    Sample code to look for 00:00
    If I put .*00:00.* in the pattern this return whole line, but is to slow in this file about 300,000 lines.
    If I put just 00:00 in the pattern only return the 00:00, but so fast.
    What can I Do, or I must use indexOf in a sequential read?
              try {
                   // Create matcher on file
                   Pattern pattern = Pattern.compile(".*00:00.*");
                   Matcher matcher = pattern.matcher(fromFile("logusers_0712"));
                   // Find all matches
                   while (matcher.find()) {
                        // Get the matching string
                        String match = matcher.group();
                                     //Here I display the matches
                        System.out.println(match);
              } catch (IOException e) {

    My two cents:
    Grep is a Bad Idea (TM). It is not java and itties
    es the solution to a the operational system.Not necessarily bad. Like you say--we don't know much
    about the OP's requirements, so grep may be just
    fine.
    !java != badYour assertion is true. But creating an solution tied to the system when you can do it pure java does not seem like a good Idea especially when we not even know which system he is using. What if he is using Windows or MacOS? Sure he can use grep on non *nix systems, but that would fore him to install the necessary tools, making his solution even more complex.

    About using indexOf, it is a little limited, not
    ot knowing what exactly the OP is searching for itis
    difficult to say if it is enough. RegEx would workin
    both ways.He said he was searching for "00:00". I think that was just a sample. He apears to be scanning a log file as far as I understood. 00:00 could be a timestamp for whose he wants to see the entries. Using a RegEx make the job easier, like "01:\\d{2} am" to get the whole range of entries inside that morning hour.
    If it's really
    that literal string he needs to match, as opposed to
    say "\\d\\d:\\d\\d" then indexOf is simpler. It will
    probably perform better too. I don't know if that
    difference will be significant, but on a file of
    300,000 lines, it might be noticable.The only way to know that is testing both solutions. But you are right, we are just wondering here, with no better info on the requirements anything can go. I agree with you, indexOf is the simple way to go and probably will sufice.
    May the code be with you.

  • Document line item text in Clearing document

    Dear All,
    Document line item text
    My client want the vendor invoice line item text(BSIK-SGTXT) to be captured in the corresponding clearing document line item text field(BSAK-SGTXT).
    (i.e) The vendor invoice and its payment clearing document should have the same text in the document line item text filed.
    According to me i can use  a substition rule and a user exit to assign the values. but here comes a problem* i have one clearing document against 3 to 4 vendor invoice documents* so my programming logic has got stucked here? like which vendor invoice line item text the clearing document should pick up?
    is there any other enhancements possible or can some one help me with the programming logic to be applied here.
    Thank you
    Regards,
    Vasanth D

    Why don't you discuss the issue with your client?  As you said, if you pay 5 invoices in a single run, the payment document item text can't carry all of those texts unless you use the long text.  What is the reason for the requirement?  Perhaps there's another solution.

  • How do I add space between lines of text in the same cell on Numbers 3.0.1

    I just updated to Mavericks 10.9. In numbers, I used to be able to uncheck a box in the inspector that would make it so the Return key did not move to the next cell, but instead allowed me to add more space between lines of text in the same cell.
    How can I do this in the new version of numbers?

    HI ilb,
    Numbers 3 is a complete rewrite of the application. This preference option hasn't (yet) been included, but N3 is very much a 'work in progress. A word to Apple via Provide Numbers Feedback asking to have this option included in Numbers 3 might be a useful step. You'll find Provide Numbers Feedback in the Numbers menu in Numbers.
