Move URLs in Text to End of Story Or Link Text. Also: Tables

Hello everyone
I'm currently working on a script that translates Textile Markup into formatted InDesign-Text. This worked fine for the most part, seeing as it's not really hard to do by FindChangeByList. Some things are a bit trickier than other things, though. Namely URLs in the text. In Textile, all URLs are like so. Let's say I'd like to link to Google. So I'd type this: "Google":http://www.google.com This would produce Google. I can isolate the word and delete the URL by [\\\"](.+?)[\\\"]:\\?\\S+ and then replacing by $1. So far so good.
However!
It would be awesome, if the URLs were still in the text. So I'd either like to have it like so: Google or that the word Google (or any $1, really) stands in the text and then the link is added to the end of the text as a kind of "Sources"-paragraph-thing. How can this be done? Can I do it by FindChangeByList? Because that would be cool, seeing as then I'd only need to run one script.
And here's a general question: How can I translate Textile-Tables into Formatted InDesign-Tables?
For reference, this would be a table with one header row.

Bascially what I want to do is move actual URLs around. Let's say I have a text, written in Textile Markup. Like so:

Hi,
trying to do a find/ change where I need to add a glyph to the end of a story. I have a bunch of titles in their own text frame which also have their own paragraph style and I want to add a right indent tab, then a glyph after the last word in that title.
Can anyone help me with the grep expression?

You spotted an 'error' (some might call it a vaguery) in the grep search&replace. ID won't allow 'replacing' a
i position marker
with anything. So you can't, for example, add something at the start of each paragraph using just "^" in Search.
This goes for all positions -- '^' and '$' (start and end of para) and '\A' and '\Z' (start & end of story); probably for the others as well (start/end of word? likely).
That said, a better search & replace is the following:
Find: .\Z
Replace: $0~y>
.. so the Find text will find
i any
character (the '\w' only specifies alphanumerics). The $0 in the Replace is a tiny refinement: because you 'use' your entire Found text -- the '\Z' is discarded --, you don't have to use parentheses and can use '$0' in the Replace, meaning "the entire Found text".

Find / Change Replace "End of story" by Paragraph

I tried unsuccessfully to find out how to manage to put a paragraph to the end of story to the multiple textframes automatically. There must be some way! Am I right?

Each textframe has the "#" hidden character on the very end. I want to put there a paragraph to the very end of each textframe I selected. I imagined something like this:
Open "Find / Change" dialog box
Find the "#" {End of Story}
And replace it by "¶ #" {Put the paragraph before the very End of Story}
I am merging multiple textframes, copy them and put the text to the different indd document. But if there is not a paragraph on the end of the textframes which I am merging, all the text joins together and I have to put paragraphs manually there afterwards. {I am merging 4 textframes into one, so i have to put there at least 3 paragraphs. I have 350 items, which means about thousand paragraphs together to be put manually.}

Move graphics with text--but not inline--in PM...??

Hello, is there a way in PageMaker to move graphics with text but not inline? I ask because right now I see two options for graphics:
--inline, so you cannot place the graphic exactly where you want AND the text only flows way above or below--but not next to--the graphic
or
--independent so you can place the graphic exactly where you want and the text DOES flow right next to the graphic, but then the graphic doesn't move with the text
I'd like to be able to place graphics exactly where I want AND have them move with the text, like the "Move object with text" option in Word.

well it has been a while since i used PageMaker so i didn't realize it was "dead."
though i'm not surprised and am kind of glad. i was hired into a new job recently
to work on a department newsletter, and i'm trying to find a good authoring program
within our budget. right now the newsletter is in Word but we've had a lot of problems
with Word so i'm seeking an alternate solution. i'd like Frame but again there isn't
enough money in the budget. i need a good option that is $500 or less...i'm trying Publisher
now too but not enough functionality...

How can I select and enlarge the entire doc,ge on a page, reducing the surrounding boarder. I can move the difference text boxes about independently of each other but the outer most boarders of the main template block appear to be fixed.

How do I have an image move with a text box?

I need to embed an image within a text box so that when I add additional text in the future, the image moves with the text that surrounds it.
For example, if I have a paragraph of text, then on the following line vertically I have an image, then on the following line another paragraph of text ... When I add additional paragraphs of text above the image, how can I have the image track down to stay between the original two paragraphs of text?

Thanks Zak! I figured that out but now have another problem that I just posted. The app keeps locking up when I try to export HTML or upload my site to the server. Please give me any advise on how to handle it.

I just upgraded to the latest version of Muse. I made a few changes to my site and I'm trying to export the HTML. I've now tried 3 times and the app locks up at 89%. It completes all pages, but locks up there. When I look into the Muse Export folder, there is nothing there. The window reads "Finishing export" but it stays at that point for more than an hour when I finally give up and force quit.
Any ideas? Anyone else having this issue? Any ideas on how to get my HTML exported successfully?

Just an update. Previously I was attempting to export HTML to the Muse Export folder on my computer. I described what happened above. Now, I'm trying to publish directly to my FTP site. Its doing basically the same behavior where it exports all desktop pages (189 of them) then it locks up. However, the interesting thing is that when exporting to the Muse Export folder on my computer this said it was 89% complete. When uploading to my server, it says its 59% computer when all pages have been exported. Both options result in the app locking up and never completing the export. I did check my site online to see if the pages were really updated. I made a change to the nav bar on the master so I should see that on every page. It is not showing up online yet even though the app says all 189 pages have been exported. Still looking for help, all advice and ideas will be appreciated! I do want to get my updates online.

can anybody suggest me the possibilities to change to default forms url to our own url as mentioned in the above example.

You would have to either -
* edit the code pointed to by the new action attribute to
include the form
processing and email generation, or
* edit the form processing script to also include the insert
record and
check user name scripting
The former is probably the better procedure, since I suppose
you'd want to
do the check user name before sending the email.
Unfortunately, this means
you will have to get your hands into the code, or hire
someone to do it for
you.

Can we move back an instance from end to previous activity?

Hi,
Using Oracle BPM WL 10.3 MP2, Can we move back an instance from end to previous activity? If yes are there any ways to make this happen? I guess that instances which are aborted cannot be brought back from end activity? but not sure.
Any ideas / suggestions?

If the instance was aborted due to an exception, you could have an exception handler which would allow you to handle the error, and then retry if desired...
However, once the instance is at End, its done...

Export H264 pass-through movie with embedded text track QuickTime Pro 7 Windows?

Using QuickTime Pro 7 for Windows, I add a text track with closed captions to my H264 .mp4 videos.
The text track works great until I try to export it. After I've added the text track, the text track is displayed as long as the track is selected to be active using the Movie Inspector track GUI.
My movies are encoded as H264 for cross-platform compatibility, and need to remain in this format. The only way to save them in QuickTimePro 7 for Windows is to Export Movie to MPEG-4. I select Pass-Through mode to retain the resolution and bandwidth parameters that I initially encoded the video with.
Unfortunately, after I export to MPEG-4, the caption track is lost. It disappears. When I open the newly exported MPEG-4 caption file, and select Movie Inspector, the caption track is missing. Inspector only shows video and audio tracks.
If QuickTime Pro 7 for Windows correctly exported my text track with the video and audio tracks, then users would be able to view the closed captions upon playback in QuickTime Player by selecting View--> Show Closed Captioning (Ctrl+Alt+T).
Anyone been able to export to MPEG-4 pass-through movie with embedded text track QuickTime Pro 7 Windows?

Move dynpro field text from right side on yhe left.

Hi experts. I have a DDic field (char1 as chebox) on screen. I need to move the DDic text for this field from right side to the left side of the checkbox. How can I do it? Is it neccesary to split this one object into two? To create a new text field and handle it in program?

Search for end-of-paragraph before end of story? CS6

Does anybody know of a way to search for a paragraph mark directly
before an end of story marker? I'd like to get rid of them, e.g., in

I found \z on Mike Witherell's great little chart at http://www.jetsetcom.net/useful-resources/indesign-cs6-resources.html
End of paragraph, at least in GREP is a location, not a character (the metacharacter is $) and can't be selected or replaced. Every paragraph has one. Paragraphs before the end of story also have a paragaph break, and that's what you are trying to remove at the end of your footnote story.
@David, Why bother withthe lookahead? \z is the location, so I would presume that the search would start at the end of story and look at the last character. That has to be faster than parsing every break in the paragraph to check for the end of story location after, and there's no possibility that you will actually delete the EOS since it can't actually be selected.

Can I make wrapped pictures move relative to text?

I really like the controls Pages gives about how images are treated in the document text (text wrapped around, text above/below, etc.)
But, I run into a problem when I add text above the image, and it moves the text that was related to the embedded image. So, I have to re-align all the images to match up to the text again. That process is usually repeated quite a few times.
As the document becomes larger, the implications of inserting any text become even more severe.
I'm sure there is a good way to handle this, but I have not been able to figure it out.
Can I somehow attach the image to the point in the text where I place it, and have it move with the text?
Or, do others make heavy use of page breaks to partition sections of the document?
Any other suggestions?

Using the Wrap Inspector, you can specify your object to be Inline or Floating. The terms may be somewhat difficult to grasp at first, but you will soon see the difference. If the text flows around your object when you add text above the object, and the object stays in the same position relative to the page, your object is Floating. If your object moves with the text, flowing downstream with it, your object is Inline.
Try both and see how they differ.

Make URL-like text a real URL in PDF file.

I have a task to make all URL-like text (and e-mail-like text later) in a PDF file a real URLs. It's needed for the pdf2swf tool (SWFTools) to produce swf with clickable links.
As i undestand Acrobat reader automatically converts such text into links, but the pdf2swf don't.

Reader will only convert the links if the start with http://. Links that start with www won't be recognized. Also,
that option can be turned off by the user so I wouldn't depend on them.
You would need to use the link tool in Adobe Acrobat to create actual links.

How can I move then main text in the San Francisco - CV? I moved my name (the box) and adress by just moving them up. But cant move the text!?

The various templates in Pages seem to have been designed by individuals without much guidance or mandate for standard approaches to layout. In a way, tha's good because you have a variety of philosophies to choose from.
The message is that you can't take what you learned here and assume that all the templates work this way. I answered your question by turning on the Layout View and looking at the Inspectors to see what controls had been used.
