MOVED: K9N Diamond. Will not load Vista. Nvidia drivers!! Support will not call back!

Hi: This is a peer to peer forum.  No one on this forum is authorized to respond on behalf of HP to any posts made here. I looked at the support and driver page for the 14t-1000, and that model is 5 years old according to the release dates of drivers listed there. Ar you sure that is the model number? Can you please post the product number for the PC?  The product number can be found on the same sticker as the serial number. You can also post the top line of each hardware ID's for each device needing drivers. I'll see what I can find. The driver directly from Realtek should install the card reader (PCI Device).  You want the first driver on the list. http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=15&PFid=25&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

  • Air.swf getApplicationVersion() not calling back

    I am trying to use air.swf from
    http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/browserapi
    per the Adobe documentation to detect if an air application is
    already installed. I'm using getApplicationVersion but the callback
    function is never called. launchApplication() and
    installApplication() work fine.
    The code looks like this:
    _air.getApplicationVersion(appID, pubID,
    versionDetectCallback);
    function versionDetectCallback(version:String):void { do
    stuff }
    VersionDetectCallback() is never called. I de-compiled the
    air.swf and ran the code directly to try and figure out what's
    failing. But I get the same result. I can see the timer on the
    LocalConnection endpoint timing out after 5 seconds. I just can't
    figure out why the appinstaller is not calling back. The actual
    call (taken from the decompiled swf) looks like this:
    airappinstaller = new ProductManager("airappinstaller");
    var launchArgs:Array;
    launchArgs = ["-isinstalled", appID, pubID, "adobe.com" + ":"
    + lcName, "onApplicationVersion"];
    airappinstaller.launch(launchArgs.join(" "));
    where onApplicationVersion is the endpoint callback function
    and lcName is the LocalConnection name.
    It doesn't matter if I make the call from the Loader Init
    event or in a button click the callback function is never called. I
    am using Flash CS3.

    Hi Lisa,
    I am on windows yes,  and I seem to have got it working.  I found this problem to be very perculiar as there were many things my badge didnt like - such as a case statement instead of a load if if's.   anyway my solution is below,  although I must say, that now nothing happens if the user doesnt have air installed!  If they have Air installed but not my application, it will install my app but the need air installed first and that is not ideal!
    Maybe implementing your timer solution may help this?  Thanks for taking an interest!

    Clear cmos.
    Enter bios and load optimised defaults.
    Exit.
    Re-enter bios and change user settings to your liking; ensure usb stuff is enabled.
    Save and exit.
    Shutdown and change keyboards.
    Report back.
    I tried what you mentioned above several times and sometimes boot up would work without the PS2 keyboard, sometimes it would not. Clearing the CMOS never worked on this board. I pressed the clear CMOS button (with power cable disconnected) and it did nothing. I also upgraded to the 1.2 bios and that seemed to reduce the frequency of the "overclocking has failed" bootup failures, but it was still present. Also, with the 1.2 bios, I seemed to have more bootup hangs (raid, etc.) once I did get through the initial posting process.
    Power Supply Specs:
    Antec Truepower 2.0 (480 Watt) - Haven't had an issue with thie PSU in my previous SLI setup.
    +5: 38A
    +12(1): 18A
    +12(2): 18A
    +3.3A: 30A
    -12: 1.0A
    +5: 2.0A
    But at this point, it is a lost cause because the board is now toast (where is the PB and J!!!!). I left the PS2 keyboard connected, installed windows, installed some testing software, and did some performance checking, heard a "sizzling" sound from around the capacitors between the cpu socket and the rear board connetors, a quick burnt electrical smell, and the system powered off. Now the board won't power on. I checked the CPU, memory and cards and thankfully they are ok. So it appears the board is toast. I have already requested an RMA.
    The first board I got was DOA, and now this board had issues from the first time I powered it on. It just seems like the K9N Diamond boards have some serious quality issues. I read the NewEgg reviews for this board and there are quite a few reviewers having DOA/posting type issues.

    Do you not have any motherboard/chipset drivers installed?
    Yup, installed all that came with the board, which included the aforementioned LAN drivers.  Also, flashed my mobo BIOS twice, now at Vers. 1.2, upgraded utilities as well.  I use only Live Update and Live Monitor (NOT running all the time), and Dual Core Center.  Digi-cell was a HUGE waste of time and resources.
    I installed the NVidia GForce 6600 driver set that came with my 3DFuzion graphics card, but had problems with a toolbar flashie.  Found a fix for that and installed it (a registry tweak).  While perusing the NVidia users forum, discovered that the consensus among most users was to stick with the 9.1.3.1 version of NVidia drivers currently installed for the adapter.
    Recently tried to move up to SP2 and had beau coup problems.  Uinstalled it, only to have my system somewhat crippled by that.  I thought maybe I should make sure all my drivers were at SP2 level, thus my trip to driveragent.com.  BUT, as it turned out, everything but the NVidia Network Bus Enumerator and the Standard PCI IDE controller drivers were up to snuff..
    While searching for those drivers, THEN I found the post by TrueLove on the Good Article forum, and turns out the reason I was even considering a jump to SP2  (erratic behavior of front panel USB ports) was NOT related to SP2 at all.  So, I've abandoned all plans to move to SP2.
    Actually, I will probably leave well enough alone, but I like doing the research.  That's why I asked for links, etc.

  • MOVED: K9N DIAMOND / OCZ NVIDIA SLI PC2-8500 NOT @ 1066Mhz

    This topic has been moved to Overclockers & Modding Corner.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=117342.0

    You can only run 1066 with a Phenom CPU, which will not work in that board BTW.
    And the reason your RAM is defaulting to 780Mhz, or 375ish, is because of the CPUs memory controller. You can get it to boot at 400Mhz but the CPU needs to boot at a speed divisible by 400Mhz (2000, 2400, 2800, 3200, 3600)...I think the X2 4000+ runs at 2.1G? If you raised the HTT a little, to say 229Mhz, I bet it would run there without an issue (it is only 2400Mhz). That would also boot the RAM at 400Mhz, or in this case around 460Mhz because of the increase in HTT speed.
    You can also mess with the CPU's multiplier to bring the HTT and RAM speed up as well. Instead of 10.5 x 229 you could try 9 x 266. That will put you at the same 2400Mhz on the CPU, but will bring the RAM up to its rated speed.
    If you don't want to go higher with the CPU speed all you need to do is find a combo that will work for both CPU and RAM. For example, you could run 2100Mhz by using 8 x 263, 8.5 x 247, 9 x 233, 9.5 x 221, 10 X 210 and stock 10.5 x 200. All of those will give you the same clock speed - but your RAM will change based on the HTT you select. Going with 8 x 263 will put your RAM closer to its rated speed while still keeping the CPU at or around 2100Mhz. You will lose some speed on the RAM because you aren't booting at a speed divisible by 400Mhz. I usually subtract 20 to 25Mhz when trying to figure this in my head...8 x 263 should put the RAM at about 525Mhz or so, but in reality will only be around 500Mhz...
    Sorry if this is confusing, but I am in a hurry...If you have any questions, which you probably will, fell free to ask and I will try to help as much as I can. I have experience overclocking on that board, and also have a DOA one sitting here next to me(Grrrr), so I am sure we can get you going in the right direction. Good Luck.

  • P45 Diamond won't load Vista or anything!!!!!

    Hi,
    After spending about 300 bucks on this board and several hundred dollars in diagnostics, and 2 weeks myself trying to get my system to just run... I am at the end of my tether.
    Vista Ultimate x 64 (bought the disk) won't load, and BSOD after the pretty circle logo.
    I updated the bios to present one. The crashes don't even get to the ATI crashes (ATI.DKG errors)
    I've tried all the tricks like 1 stick of ram, video card only in 2nd PCIE slot, millions of memtests (all passed)
    I would post the errors, cept I can't open windows :(
    My setup is P45 Diamond Motherboard
    2 Seagate 1TB hard disks
    8 GB of DDR3 ram (2 sets) (Corsair xms3-1333MHz 1.7V CM3X2048-133c9dhx)
    2 visiontek ati 4850 video cards
    Intel Q9550 processor
    Power supply is 1000W Silverstone Strider Series
    I did my homework and made sure the ram, videocards and processor were compatible. Don't know why it doesn't work, nor anyone else.
    Is this board garbage or what?
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    I h
    - reduce memory clock speed to 1066 MHz by manually choosing the corresponding FSB/DRAM Ratio
    - raise Memory Voltage to ~1.58V
    - Disable Spread Spectrum
    - Disable EIST
    - Disable C1E Support (CPU Features)
    - Disable everything that you do not need for installing an operating system, that is:
    --> USB Controller (use PS/2 Keyboard) (tried both ps2/ and usb)
    --> USB Device Legacy Support (disabled)
    --> Onboard LAN Controller (disabled)
    --> Onboard 2nd LAN Controller(disabled)
    --> LAN Option ROM (disabled)
    --> Onboard IEEE1394 Controller (disabled)
    --> Onboard E-SATA Controller (disabled)
    --> Extra RAID/IDE Controller (disabled)
    --> COM Port 1 (disabled)
    --> (Green Power [Energy Save, CPU Phase Control, DDR Phase Control, MCH Phase Control]) - removed it, ran it as 24 pin direct as well)
    --> disabled aoip in bios as well.
    There are kernel crashes in win xp 32 , xp 64 bit, vista 32 bit ultimate, vista 64 bit ultimate (bought 2 disks to date  ) debian, knoppix, Kbuntu, Ubuntu as well.
    retested my ram , CPU at today at a highly priced and well respected shop today as well.
    Corsair engineering stated they tested compatibility with this MOBO, but when retested today couldn't seem to get it working..... ???
    Additionally, the ram states 1.7v @ 9-9-9-24 settings for optimum. the board defaults at 1.5 v (10666). these are true 1333 MHz chips, and the actual voltage is 1.6 volts with a manual setting at 9-9-9-24 (as per corsair engineering).
    They did test an XMS3 DDR3 module, but it was only the 1G x 2 set. They stated compatibility for the 4 GB (2x2GB) set due to the chip architecture alone it appears.
    Silly me for wanting to run 8 gigs on a 64 bit system...
    This board appears to have great -promise, but looking at the returns at Fry's, makes me wonder why MSI doesn't get off their ass and make drivers to work with all the main rams and cards.
    That's how the big board manufacturers used to do business, now they just don't care.
    BTW the Visiontek 4850 cards crash randomly with the ATI.DKG Driver with this card.
    ATM, I am stuck with dual 4850s - those are going to join the P45 Diamond in the garage (decided not to throw them away as I dumped $368 (with a 2 year warranty on the MOBO) and cannot return it as it is well past 15 days at the store  , perhaps MSI will make drivers for compatibility, world peace is achieved, and the cure for cancer is found (most likely to occur first)
    I might try another MSI product in the future, but my friends (who want me to build clones of my system) do not want this board after the extend of trouble I have gone through.
    Looking at EVGA and XFX at the moment, as ASUS is having a 60% return currently (poor manufacturing practices).
    Thank You All for all the assistance in trying to help me resolve my problem.
    this is by far the most helpful forum I have ever been on. I will keep looking, and of course trying trying to get this board running in my spare time in another system, but have run out of time in trying to get my office system running, so I am sending it to a shop so I can use this overpriced ram and flawed crossfirefire system (let someone else deal with the headaches). I am still interested in the OC features on this board, but really - "Green Power for an COD board is like trying to soup up a 4 cylinder for speed and gas mileage lol.  Cheers and Have a Great Day!!!

    yeah I'm still new at this stuff.
    leave only SATA drive connected to PC.
    install OS(e.g. your Windows) on the SATA drive.
    when its done connect the IDE drive and copy the files which you need to the SATA drive.

     No way will you get that speed with any AMD CPU, it just 'ain't gonna happen. Even with Intel which OC higher than AMD you need dry ice , phase change and other such exotic cooling solutions to get over 5GHz.

    I have an MSI FX-5900 video card and can't get drivers for it for Vista 32.  I downloaded what I thought were the correct drivers from Nvidia, also tried a Beta for Nvidia.  When I try to install it says it can't find hardware to go with the drivers.  Vista installed a driver listed as Nvidia when I go look at what driver is installed.  I have feeling the FX-5900 is not supported..........Thanks

  • Air.swf GetApplicationVersion callback not called

    I am trying to use air.swf from

  • K9N2 Diamond Will Not Load Os XP

    K9N2 Diamond has 2 hard drives installed on sata ports 5 & 6, Western Digital WD2500AAKS 250GB Raid 0. I want these for my boot drive & are setup in bios as boot drive so I canload windows XP SP3. Now on sata 1 & 2.  I have 2 WD1001FALS 1TB as raid 1.  I tried to install XP by booting to lite-on dvdrw. MSI website has nvraid drivers but are too large for a floppy disk and don't know which files to choose,  No instructions telling which files to use, root folder files or disk 1 or disk 2 files for floppy. I tried them all and they didn't work. I went to nvidia website and downloaded drivers from there and they did fit on floppy and they did load. I loaded both files after prompted to press F6. Windows started loading, found drives and selected drives on sata 5 & 6, raid 0 stripe. Windows formatted ntfs and started loading files but when it tried to boot but when it tried to copy the file NVGTS.EXE it stopped loading and it couldn't find NVGTS.EXE on the floppy or the system after it found them earlier but and couldn't even point it to the file and find it so I had to skip it and went on to the next one and it couldn't find any of the files on the floppy. So Slip-Streamed the drivers onto my xp installation disk,  then tried to load. It went further this time but when the system booted from windows for the first time it went into protection blue screen right as the XP scrolling bar is seen. I tried everything from turning off all other devices and disconnecting them but XP would not load. So I loaded PX on IDE 1 with maxtor 40gb drive and it worked on the 40pin IDE. I updated bios to V 1.2 and loaded all the drivers. and its working now but I bought this board to use raid 0 for speed as my boot drive on sata 5 & 6. It seems the board or the drivers are bad. I want to set it up like this;  A floppy,Zip 250, 3 DVDRW, Raid 1 Mirror with 2 300GB Maxtor Drives on sata 3 & 4, Raid 1 Mirror with 2 1TB Western Digital Drives on sata 1 & 2 and Raid 0 Stripe with 2 Western Digital 250GB on sata 5 & 6 for booting XP OS. Also I don't know what memory slots to use for dual channel, the manual is not clear here, do I use 1+3 or 1+2.
    Please help someone!      And sorry for the last post...I just pasted from word not thinking. Been along day.

  • Photoshop Vista Nvidia - color management issues - working colors not accurate

    Today I updated Vista and the NVidia 3300 driver got upgraded as well. Earlier today, everything was working great with colors within Photoshop. After the update, my colors in Photoshop (and Illustrator) are shifted brown. My grey scale has varying degrees of brown. Reinstalled NVidia drivers without success. All other colors on desktop and other programs (Flash included) are fine. Also, a bizarre thing is when I prep a file for the web, the colors look good.
    Please help!
    Thanks! Chris

    The NVidia desktop system is an invasive piece of bloatware, so I usually
    remove it, being careful to leave the latest video driver in place.
    Two possibilities -
    1) the NVidia driver update included a profile. To verify this, go into
    Start>Settings>Display>Advanced>Color Mgmt. and verify that the profile
    selected there is the one you had before. If you are not sure what was
    there before, add sRGB and select it as the monitor's default profile.
    2) the NVidia driver is loading the LUT at startup time.
    If you have calibrated your system, any combination of these two will throw
    things off. If you have not calibrated, then the problem is more likely to
    be #1 above.

  • PDF loaded into iBooks will not sync back to iTunes

    I accessed a PDF on the web from Safari on my iPhone 4s, then opened it in iBooks.  Then I connected the iPhone to my iMac and synced with iTunes.  I was expecting the new PDF to sync back to my iTunes, but that did not happen.
    Am I to assume that PDF files loaded into iBooks on my iPhone or iPad will NOT sync back to iTunes?
    -Thanks

    It was VERY difficut, but I finally did it!
    First I was annoyed because I couldn't get the PDFs to show in my iTunes Library.  As near as I can tell, performing a backup of my iPad did that.  In the past 'Transfer Purchases' did the job.
    What nearly drove me bonkers was getting the content of my iBooks Library to sync to the device.  There was just no way to do it.  Not my PDFs and not even the purchased books!   I tried to get the Library on the left and my iPad on the right so I could drag and drop.  NOPE.
    I played around a while and finally got both to show on the screen so I could drag and drop.  STUPID
    What I think worked for me:  I started in Music Library and clicked on the +Add to icon on the top right.  This pulled up my iPad for drag and drop.  Then I switched the button on the top left from 'music' to 'books'.  Finally I could remove or add my content to iBooks.
    It worked perfectly before, why did they change it!
    The music App makes me drag and drop, which I never had to do before.  All I had to do was check or uncheck songs in a playlist and sync the playlist.
    Apps works fine, no complaints.
    Podcasts, another fine mess...
    I noticed Video was fixed when I went back in.
    Oh, the kicker, my iTunes is not responding today.
