Moving default location of JSP demo

As you know that the default location of JSP demo for 9iAS is located at ~/Apache/Apache/htdocs/demo and I have successfully changed the doc root to ~/docs and served our locally created Web apps in that directory. But when I moved demo into ~/docs/demo and trying the demo apps such as lottery, I got error:

You can move them from teh default location to wherever you want.
Drag the iTunes folder from C:\Users\<username>\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music to
C:\Users\<username>\iTunes\iTunes Music.
Hold Shift and laucch iTunes then select *Choose existing library* and select the *iTunes library file* in the iTunes folder.

  • Migrating to PSE10 & moving default storage locations

    Greetings all,
I have purchased the upgrade from PSE9 to PSE10 and am planning to migrate the default location of my images and catalog from a local drive on my Windows 7 PC to a NAS device. I am wanting to move the default location to a NAS so that I can access the catalog, thumbnails and images from more than 1 location. (Yes, I know about the performace problems if using a wifi and am not).
The question that I have is one of sequencing these steps. What is the best sequence in order to reduce the hassles associated of migrating to the newest software version and moving the location of of all of the image assets I have, knowing that I have about 10k images in my catalog.
At a bare minimum I know I need to:
upgrade my local PSE9 application to PSE10
    possibly export the catalog
import the catalog into the new catalog on the NAS
    etc
What is the best sequencing of steps to help me stay clear of trouble as I have a lot of tagging and ratings that I what to preserve?
    Thanks all.

Probably best to treat it like the purchase of a brand new computer and use the built in Backup and Restore commands.
I think its best for optimum performance to ensure the catalog as well as the images are stored on the NAS.
The catalog data base normally has a default location in the system files (often hidden files)
You can find the path to the current catalog by opening the Organizer and clicking Help à System info
See this link for backup and restore. It refers to an earlier version of Pse but the principles remain the same.

  • Win-7 64bit: moving iTunes media folder from default location to D drive

    Dear all,
I cannot move iTunes media folder from default location on C drive to D drive on win-7 64 bit.
    What I did was:
    - Under iTunes> Edit > Preferences > Advanced I choosed new location for iTunes media folder on D drive
    - Under iTunes > Library > Organize library > I choose consolidate fiels and then ok ( this should create a new library on new location )
Next I delete iTunes media folder on C drive and hope that on re-start iTunes goes to new location on D drive and picks new file arrangement.
But it does not happen - no matter what I do iTunes goes to its default location on C drive ....
I called apple senior advisor - and she told me that it's kind of "my fault" I have windows7 installed on PC and because iTunes is Mac oriented they will not give me support... And referred me to Microsoft ... What a lousy support!. I paid for it $25!! What for?

By the way, I followed instructions as per link http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1364 - it did not work either. Can anyone share their success stories ? My C drive is not big and my music library ~ 100gB - I really need to keep iTunes media files in another location ... not a default place under User Login

  • How to change the default location of 'Music', 'Pictures' in my home folder

IMAGINE I have 2 hard disk partitions on the SAME hard disk,
one is called 'Macintosh HD' and the other is called 'My Data'.
    The Plan:
In the 'Macintosh HD', there are (1) system files & (2) users' settings.
In the 'My Data', there are all the music, pictures, etc.
For example, the 'Macintosh HD' has 40GB and the 'My Data' has 120GB.
All I want to do is to *separate the SYSTEM and my DATA* _without migrating my home folder_ inside 'Macintosh HD' which contains folders called 'Music', 'Pictures'... to the partition 'My Data'.
_+*I want to separate the system files and my data incase I need to reinstall the Mac OS X while leaving all my data untouched.*+_
So the way I should do (I guess) is to leave my home folder inside 'Macintosh HD' empty,
and create files called, for example, 'My Music', 'My Pictures', etc. in the 'My Data' partition.
Then _redirect the files 'Music', 'Pictures', etc. in my home folder inside 'Macintosh HD'_ to _'My Music', 'My Pictures', etc. in the 'My Data' partition_.
In Windows XP or Windows 7, you can redirect those as using the methods below:
    (1) http://i41.tinypic.com/2rorkhx.jpg
    (2) http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/18629-user-folders-change-default-location. html
But I just don't know how to do that in Mac OS X, it seems that Mac OS X doesn't even provide a way for users to do so:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=336192
I saw a reply in macrumors forum and tried to move the 'Music', 'Pictures', etc. folders,
but it turned out that those files were being copied, not moved.
So I can't move the 'Music', 'Pictures', etc. to the partition 'My Data' and make aliases of them which can be put in my home folder inside 'Macintosh HD'.
So, are there only 3 options for me too choose?
    (1) stop trying to fight Apple and Mac OS X on where it puts things, just put all the things in my home folder inside 'Macintosh HD', using only 1 partition
    (2) move my home folder to the other disk partition, in this case, the partition 'My Data'
    (3) can't redirect the location of Music', 'Pictures', etc. folders in my home folder in the 'Macintosh HD', but just simply put things in the 'My Data'.
    Thanks in advance!

    Here's the easy solution:
    1. Copy the folders you want on the My Data partition.
    2. Verify all files copied OK, then delete the same folders on Macintosh HD.
    3. Make an alias for each of the folders you have moved.
    4. Copy the aliases to your Macintosh HD/Users/Home folder.
    5. Delete the space and "alias" from each of the aliases so the have the exact same names as the originals.
DO NOT do this with the /Home/Library/ folder as the above will not work with that folder.
When you attempt to delete the folders you have moved the OS will complain that it cannot delete them because they are needed by OS X. This is normal. In order to delete the original folders and rename the aliases you will need to boot the computer from another drive or from the OS X installer disc. But for the latter you will need to run the Terminal (from the installer's Utilities menu) and use Unix commands to delete the folders and rename the aliases. If you know how to use the Terminal then the entire operation can be done from the command line. See the following:
    1. Boot the computer into single-user mode.
    2. At the prompt enter:
    /sbin/mount -uw /
    cd /Users/yourusername
    mv /Documents "/Volumes/My Data/rest of path/Documents"
Repeat the above line replacing "Documents" with the names of the other folders you are moving. The "mv" command actually moves the folders rather than copying them.
    ln -s "/Volumes/My Data/rest of path/Documents" /Users/Documents
Repeat this line for the other folders replacing "Documents" with the names of the other folders.
You may find printing out the command line routine using a large mono-spaced font useful in assuring you spot the spaces in each command line. Note that the quotes used in the command lines above are required.
Enter "reboot" without quotes to restart the computer.

  • How to create an extension not in default location in Eclipse?

    Hi everybody,
I recently installed an Extension builder 3 on my Eclipse Kepler (on a Mac OS 10.6.8)
I just created an extension for InDesign CC (9.2) in my eclipse workspace. This works fine, I can launch InDesign CC and see my extension. I just created the extension as proposed by the wizard without changing anything.
Now this extension works. The next step for me is moving it somewhere else to integrate it in a project tree, let's say <workspace>/autocat/MyExtension. To do so, I use for this the contextual menu on my extension project and then Move... I moved the project where I want, and then launched InDesign. It crashed (see details below).
The workaround I tried then was not creating the project at the default location proposed by Eclipse, but I got this error message:
In a last hope, I tried using the import project feature of Eclipse, but got no success.

Well, I have "resolved" this way: I moved in my filesystem my project, then removed it from Eclipse (without removing it from disk). Then I reimported the project in Eclipse, and trashed my InDesign preferences. It still crashes from time to time, but I can work with it. The truth is elsewhere...

  • Migrating from PPC to Intel. Copied iTunes library manually to default location, but iTunes won't recognize it - seems to work, but no songs visible. Using Lion on Mac Mini Server.

I've never had iTunes fail to recognize a library when I moved it to another location, or restored it to the default location. It always just works. But not this time.
I copied my roughly 30G library into the default location, but iTunes doesn't see it at all.
I have no idea what to try next. Help.

Did you copy everything? Media folders, library files, artwork folders, etc?  Did you put them in the default location of Music/iTunes/iTunes ?
You can also try starting iTunes with the option key held down and guide it to where you did put the library file.
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
do not confuse moving your whole folder and library with moving just media files as in
iTunes for Mac: Moving your iTunes Media folder - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1449
Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

  • JSF, ADF BC, 11g - Configure default location for pageDefs

    Hi all,
As the title suggests, I was wondering if there is anyway to configure the default location for pageDefs.
I've been having some issues when creating a page through faces-config.xml.
If I don't put a folder before the jsp name when declaring the page in the faces-config - eg. /Home.jsp - then the pageDef is created in the correct place - eg. /adfmsrc/com/delexian/app/pageDefs
However if I do put a folder before the jsp name - eg. /app/Home.jsp - then it puts the pageDef in /adfmsrc/app
    Anyone know of a workaround?
    Cheers,
    -chris

    Hi Chris,
    not that I know
In case you have access to Metalink, I logged Bug 7502373 - PAGEDEF FILES NOT CREATED UNDER PAGEDEFS PATH FOR JSPX CREATED IN SUB-DIRECTORY
    a few days agi.
See also Note 744764.1 - PageDef Files Not Created Under PageDefs Path For JSPX Created In Sub-Directory
For now, I only see Refactoring as workaround.

  • Changing iTunes Default Location to external drive

    Hello,
I have a problem I cannot seem to fix. I moved my entire iTunes music library over to an external hard drive (via USB). Everything seemed to be good. The 7400 songs played from the new location and my iPod updated just dandy.
But after a reboot of my computer when I try to play a song from my iTunes I get the message "the song could not be used because the original location could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"
I can navigate back to the M drive (external drive) to find the file but I cannot do this for all 7400 songs. Why is iTunes constantly looking back at my C drive when I moved all the files out of the My Music folder over to the new drive? I have copied all the folders over to the new drive. I have uninstalled the old location and reinstalled iTunes but it is still looking to the C drive for the files. I am totally frustrated.
    Please help. Thanks, Brian

    hi,
oh i see. so i guess that would be the only way out at this moment. also would like to check if i would to follow ur process when disable that default location when adding movies, will the link stay in itunes? and when i enable the default back will there be any conflict if i would like to play movies as from my external? well, just wanna make sure there will be no conflicts.
well, i would totally agree with ur suggestion that apple should really work on itunes if they would really support music as alot of music lovers would appreciate if someone were to write a script or apple itself would be able to make that happen. any ways to let apple know out feedback?

  • Change default location of Product Installer Files

I have a hard drive with multiple partitions and would prefer my installers go to a different drive when copied to my computer i.e. some place other than <ProgramData>\National Instruments\MDF\ProductCache.
    1) Can I change this default location?
    2) If not, is there any harm in just moving the directory manually and keeping things in another location myself (pathing issues)?
I believe I will just have to browse on disk now when building installers because LabVIEW won't find things if they aren't located at the default path, but I'm fine with this.

  • ITunes library not in default location doesn't show up as shared library

My iTunes library will not show up on my network as a shared library. It is not in the default location for Windows (Documents and Settings\<user>\My Documents\My Music\iTunes). I can find no reference anywhere that this should prevent a library from being seen by other iTunes users, yet that seems to be the case.
I have two other iTunes libraries on computers on my local network. Both show up on each other's machines, so this isn't a firewall issue. All my machines are running the same level of Windows XP Pro.
On one machine, I actually created a library in another location, then shared it. It was not visible. Once I recreated the library in the default location, it was again visible.
Does anyone have a any ideas how I can troubleshoot this? I really don't want to copy/move what is now a very large library and there's nothing to indicate that this shouldn't work.
    Thanks!
    Michael Greis

Normally all you need to do is copy the entire iTunes folder from <User's Music> on one computer to <User's Music> on the other. If you've made things more complicated see make a split library portable.

  • Changing the Default Location for Backups

I've just downloaded PC Suite 6.81.13.0. How do I change the default location where backups are stored on my laptop? The default location stores the data in an location that is not compatible with my company network profile. I want to store the data in a different location, but I can't see any option to allow me specificy the location.

You have to re-index your Library by dragging/dropping the main Library folder into the Loop browser.

  • Changing the default location PowerPoint uses for templates

I do not want to use the default location MS Office initially configures for templates that is buried in some obscure folder on a local machine in that only Office know about.  Instead want to keep my templates in the same location on a company server
with the rest of my materials so I can access it from my company laptop or from the Virtual machines I am forced to use in other company locations. This way I will have my templates everywhere I work.  When I make changes they are available to me everywhere
I work and are not buried in a folder on a laptop or a virtual machine in a conference room half a world away.
MS Word allows users to configure this default location for templates but no where in PowerPoint can I find any way to configure this location. Previously on my laptop I have been able to configure the default PowerPoint template location, I believe, by
setting the location in MS Word; however, this is not happening for me now on the virtual machines I am using when away.  I have scoured the Options settings and if it is there it is well hidden.
To make matters worse I am trying to use what PPT is providing to me while I sort this out and when you try to open "My Templates": there is a message that says:
"To add a template to My templates, click the File tab, click Save As, click Trusted Templates, and then save the file as a template."
Of course when I follow these instructions there is no folder named Trusted Templates on the left side of the dialog box.  I am not sure why it is so difficult to allow us to configure this ourselves for each program but apparently it is.

    Hi,
Please refer to this kb below:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924460/en-us
As mentioned, if you use Word 2007 or Word 2010 to change the location in which your new templates are saved, you also change the location in which all 2007 Office program templates or all 2010 Office program templates are saved.
Office programs use one registry key to record the user templates file location, you can browse to the following path to check if it's recorded:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\General
The user templates location is stored in the
    UserTemplates
    string value.
If it doesn't exist, try to manually add it, check if this helps. Detailed information can also be found in the kb introduced above.
Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps
carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/en-us
