Moving Red Gian Particular Plugin to CC

I moved Red Giant Particular plugin from AE CS5 to AE CC by copying the subfolder from the CS5 plugin folder to the AE CC plugin folder.  Particular now works fine in CC.  However, the presets were not there.  So I also copied them.  They still don't work.  THE PROBLEM is now none of my CS5 Production Premium apps (e.g., PPro, Ps, etc) work and are requesting the serial number (or will let me use as a trial).  Before I go any further, what did I do wrong?  I would like to fully restore CS5 until all my preferences, plugins, and scripts have been sucessfully made to work in CC.

Hi Todd
I had the same issue because the preset packs need to be installed manually. This is what the RG tech people advised to get me up and running:
1) Close all programs this includes your host application as well as other installers.
2) Run the Guru Preset installer (one at a time) for CS6 installer.
3) Finish installation
5) Go to: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS6\Support Files\Presets (or MacHD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe After Effects CS6/Support Files/Preset)
6) Move the appropriate preset folder to the following location:  C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC\Support Files\Presets (MacHD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe After Effects CC/Support Files/Preset)
7) Re-launch AE CC, the presets should now be available.
If you find that they are not showing up, please make sure you have the animation presets turned on. The RG FAQ on how to do so is here: http://www.redgiant.com/support/faq/product-specific/trapcode-particular/170/
I hope this helps.

Graham

  • Moving to a particular line in a BufferedReader

    Hi,
I have a bufferred reader that reads lines of text from a file. I would like to move to a particular line in the file. Is there any way to do so?
My simple code is below. I am familiar with reading text files, but I have an operation that I would like to move to particular lines in the file.
    String curLine;
    while(((curLine = this.rtReader.readLine()) != null)
    }

As long as you can live with moving forward only you
    can use LineNumberReader
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/io/LineNum
erReader.htmlNote that this class requires that the file be read starting at the beginning - it keeps track of the line numbers. (Of course, that is easy to do with a counter, yourself.)

  • Red Giant Trapcode plugins no longer work after updating to Premiere Pro CC 2014.1 (v8.1)

I'm not sure why but after updating Premiere Pro CC to 2014.1 none of my previously installed Trapcode plugins work. I tried uninstalling Trapcode and then re-installing the latest Trapcode update (12.1.6) but it didn't fix the problem. I'm also running Windows 8.1.
I checked the plugin loading log file (\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Pro\8.0\Plugin Loading.log) and noticed all the Trapcode plugins had the message "The plugin is marked as Ignore, so it will not be loaded."
So to fix it, I had to manually modify the registry and change "Ignore"=dword:00000001 to "Ignore"=dword:00000000 for most instances of my Red Giant plugins. Everything works now.

First ... have you checked that these are all updated to work with the CC versions? I'd check with the makers of each plugin, the software has MANY differences.
Next ... if say you removed all but one, do any of them work? It might be worthwhile to remove them from the folder, then add one by one until you find one that is crashing things. That would at least get you part way forward.
And ... you might list which ones you have, in what versions. Folks around here might be able to help just seeing that.

  • Red Giant Colorista Plugin

Does Zeb, or any other serious colorist, have comment about Red Giant's Colorista plugin for FCP?

really what the Colorista do that 3 way can't?
    DAVE
the main thing is a "power window." to do that now within fcp, one has to make a mask shape, duplicate the clip and what have you. not hard but once you've been on a da vinci, this capability within colorista is very cool and to me it's the main selling point. the two quicktime movies red giant put up there are extremely bad at selling this product.
i also like the way the color balance wheels work, i think they work better than apple's 3 way. if i have a color in mind, i can use apple's color picker to get there immediately rather than dragging a dot and mouse all over my desk.
i really do not like color finesse at all, i have the ae plug-in and as i can't see cf working on my monitor, it's kinda useless. if i had a job paying for a card that i could get video out, i may take a different look at it.
i wish i could have seen final touch in action but i couldn't get the demo as i still have a g4. apparently the integration with fcp was less than adequate and you can read all the tales of woe on the cow. it will be interesting to see how apple integrates final touch.
like anything, these are tools and obviously not every carpenter swings the same hammer. it's not a perfect application but from my little testing today, i think it works well, just not very well on a laptop. looking forward to testing it on my desktop mac.

Hi - I am having the exact same issue you described. Were you ever able to find a solution to this? Or, did you have to delete/reinstall office (which is what MS tech support keeps suggesting as my only option)?

  • CS3 Extended Plugin Error Message

I'm trying to write a 3D file format plugin for PS CS3 Extended, and whenever I remove

"Could not complete the New Layer From 3D File command because of a program error."
when trying to add a new 3D layer with any plugin (.3ds, .dae, .obj, etc..)
Why is this particular plugin required to be in the Plug-Ins directory?
It seems like nothing will work if it isn't in there.
    Is this a bug?

  • Photoshop CS5 Optional Plugins downloaded file issue

I am trying to download the Photoshop CS5 Optional Plugins from the following Adobe website http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4688.
I'm using IE9 as my browser and opting to save the file to my desktop.
The downloaded file appears as follows on my desktop - PSCS5OptionalPlugins_Win_en_US.zip.av6ac0u  - whiich I'm unable to unzip and use.  I am able to download other plug ins from the Adobe site.  Is there an alternate page for downloading these files or some "trick" to downloading these particular plugins?
    Thank you.

I'm a huge fan of the mouse myself, Noel.  As a matter of fact that's what instantly drew me to the Lisa and the Mac initially, at a time when PCs were still at the command-line stage of MS-DOS and PC users were mocking and deriding menus and the mouse.
To this day I much prefer to do anything that can be done with the mouse and/or menus without having to clutter what's left of my withered brain with the learning of commands and key combos, and my considerably handicapped hands make me a lousy typist on account of arthritis and neuropathy anyway.
But aliases ("shortcuts") on the desktop are not necessary to launch applications or open documents.  That's what The Dock is for on the Mac, which, as you can see in my screen shot above, I keep hidden below the bottom of the screen with all its icons until I bring my cursor down to hover over that area when I need it.
And I have double the logos you do.
Hehehe…   I have plenty of those in reserve.    We don't want to clutter this thread with more images than necessary.

Every time I start Illustrator CS6 I get an error message:

I am not sure. Here is a screenshot.  Many people are having this problem. I am wondering what it is and what it does exactly and can't seem to find an answer to that question.
I deleted Illustrator CS6  yesterday and reloaded the program. I am on a Mac, Maverick 10.9. The strange thing is the dates. All plugins [in the file] correspond with the Illy CS6 reload except that particular Plugin?
Can I delete the file or is it a necessary plugin?

  • Foxit Reader Plugin for Mozilla 2.2.3.111 blocked while blocklist.xml tops out at maxVersion="2.2.1.530"

Attempting to open a .pdf with Firefox 18.0, and having Foxit Reader Plugin for Mozilla 2.2.3.111 installed, I receive the gray lego piece page with text "The plugin is vulnerable and should be updated/Check for updates/Click here to activate the Foxit Reader for Mozilla plugin"
I look into the blocklist.xml file and find the plugin item:
    <pluginItem blockID="p250">
    <match name="filename" exp="npFoxitReaderPlugin\.dll" /> <versionRange minVersion="0" maxVersion="2.2.1.530" severity="0" vulnerabilitystatus="2"></versionRange>
    </pluginItem>
Next, I view installed plugins and find: Foxit Reader Plugin for Mozilla 2.2.3.111, and it is not disabled.
My first question is why, when the installed plugin version is 2.2.3.111, and the blocklist maxVersion is 2.2.1.530, do I receive any kind of plugin blocked page?
My second question is "is there any method or technique so specifically unblock a particular plugin, without affecting any other plugin?"
    I force-reinitialized the blocklist.xml file and database.
Currently, I am running extensions.blocklist.enabled false, to sidestep this exact problem, but would definitely prefer to have this set true.
    Thanks.

    Hi cor-el,
I ''did'' see the bug report, that relates to ''2.2.1.530 AND BELOW''.
The current installed plugin is 2.2.3.111, which is ABOVE 2.2.1.530, hence the blocklist should not apply, since its setting "maxVersion", apparently the maximum version to which the block list should apply, is 2.2.1.530.
Thank your for looking into this, though.
Possibly I do not understand the maxVersion property in the .xml?

  • Java 1.6 update 7 with Java 1.6 update 10 Next Generation Plugin, possible?

    Hello,
I have a quick question. A client I work with has a need to use Java 1.6 update 7 to access their Oracle applications. We need to have the plugin (Next Generation) work with this version, even though I am aware that it does not come with it. I tried moving the npjp2.dll plugin in to the Firefox plugins, and although it shows up as the plugin inside Firefox, Java never loads.
Is there a way to force upon Java 1.6 update 7, the Next Generation plugin for it to be compatible with Firefox? I am currently trying this on Firefox 10 due to browser security features that killed my testing in later versions.
    Disclaimer:
1.) I understand Firefox 10esr is old, and prone to security vulnerabilities
2.) I understand Java 1.6u7 is also old and prone to security vulnerabilities
    Please advise. Thanks!

You would have to create a registry key that points to the other Java version, just like there is one for the current Java release.
    64 bit Windows:
    HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\MozillaPlugins\@java.com/JavaPlugin,version=xx.xx.xx
    32 bit Windows:

I have 2 options now - open PDF in Acrobate Reader or open by Chrome PDF plugin.
And native Chrome PDF plugin does not submits form data...
Is it possible to fix this issue and open forms in chrome window by Acrobat Reader plugin?

    Hey Yury_Vitovsky,
Google has moved out of NPAPI plugin support  not  Adobe, so Google Chromium team will be able to provide you a better answer for it.  And yes it will be working fine with other web browsers like IE, Firefox etc.

  • Should Plugins Be Used In A Production Environment?

    Hello All.
I am seeking your opinion on an issue that recently was raised in my work environment.
We are heavy users of Apex 4.x. I recently introduced Apex plugins to several of my fellow developers. They all were astounded.
However, someone questioned if we should incorporate a plugin into our production apps. The concern here is that, despite their usefulness, plugins are not officially supported by Oracle. If we run into an issue with a plugin, our only support would come from the person who authored the plugin. I would not be able to call Oracle/Apex Tech support to ask my question. And so, if the plugin author, for some reason, was not available, the problem would not be addessed. Furthermore, because the plugin code is not available to me (at least I think so; please correct me if I'm wrong), I would be forced to either remove the plugin from my app or come up with custom code to do what the plugin is doing.
Another concern is would the plugin code "survive" an Apex upgrade. I would hate to upgrade, say, from 4.0.2 to 4.1 and find that my previously installed plugins had disappeared. Frankly, I'm not sure this is a realistic concern, still I'm mentioning it because I don't have a sure answer.
Of the two concerns, the former is the biggest. In a "play/test" environment, not having the author answer or correct an issue with their plugin is frustrating but not critical. But in a production setup, this would be a big problem.
These concerns are giving my management pause as to whether or not to incorporate plugins into our production Apex apps.
It's my understanding that several of the popular open source software tools (Linux, perl, mySQL, JQuery, etc.) each have a core team of people who "maintain" the tool. There's a psuedo company giving oversite to the code. And so, such tools sort of have a critical mass of people supporting the tool. On the other hand, an Apex plugin has just one person (the author) maintaining the code. And that sole supporter may, for whatever reason, stop supporting it, making production support dicey.
I would appreciate your opinions about this?
    Thank you.
    Elie

    Hi,
That concern is not limited to plugins only. Install any third party library, and run into an issue the support you receive is by the author of said library, and not by oracle themselves - as they didnt author it! In the end, you need to assess, should something go wrong, can you either get the support you require, or have the ability to fix the code your self.
The plugin code is available, in shared components -> plugins -> you can normally see how a particular plugin works. However, this is not always the case - some authors want to keep their code hidden well (probably if they have released the plug in under a commercial license), so wrap their code.
Anyway, if you're still worried- just code it yourself? In the end, you should be thoroughly testing your apps to ensure their will be as little issue as possible. If you test it well, you reduce the risk down the line of anything going wrong. If the tests fail, don't use the plugin and look at another solution. Plugins are not limited to those released open source. For instance, your organisation may have a common functionality in all your apps, so then you can create a plugin for your dev's to use. By documenting the plugin well, down the track if there are issues, you should be able to fix it.
And so, such tools sort of have a critical massI like to think APEX has a large population - that is every growing - helping out too. Look at this forum, their are people helping out every day.
Another concern is would the plugin code "survive" an Apex upgrade. I would hate to upgrade, say, from 4.0.2 to 4.1 and find that my previously installed plugins had disappeared.Of course, I'm not an Oracle employee, so can't speak for there future. But i'd be quite surprised if they didn't make the upgrade path for plugins as seamless as possible, in the event they had some core changes.
    Just some of my thoughts.

    Trent

  • My flash plugin is crashing every 2 minutes. I don't know why! I've tried everything on the support page. Nothing works, it's up to date, what do I do next?

I have updated all of my plugins. I have updated this particular plugin. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the plug in. I am using the most up-to-date version of Firefox. Still, it crashes after less than 2 minutes. I am not sure what else to do.

    Adobe's Flash Troubleshooting page: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html
Probably the best, first step is to use their un-installer (item 3 on that page) (removes ALL Flash from your system including IE), then download the manual installer(s) (both - first "bulleted" item after #5) and re-install.

  • FireFox does not know Adobe Reader Plugin is latest version. Why?

OS is Windows Vista with all updates. Using Adobe Reader X version 10.1.9. Checking for updates from within the Adobe Reader program generates a message from Adobe that the software up to date, no updates available. Firefox advises Adobe Plugin version 10.1.9 is vulnerable and to update the plugin. Attempting to update from within Firefox connects with the Adobe update site. Attempting to update from within the update site brings up a message from Adobe that the latest software is installed. Please advise.

The plugin checker site is not able to* store multiple versions of the Adobe Acrobat plugin as the current version. So, with apologies to Windows Vista users, you simply have to ignore what the plugin check site says about that particular plugin and rely on Adobe's in-product updater.
''*'' It ''could'' be redesigned to do this in the future, but currently it is not able to do this.

  • Red shift

I'm sure my question has been asked before but I can't find a reference to it using the forum search function. I'd be grateful to know how I can avoid images returning to CS4 showing a red tint.
It happens, for example, when I make a screen grab of an image in CS4, save it as a tif, and then open the saved screengrab in CS4. The image looks markedly less-red tint - particularly noticeable in blues compared to the original image still open in CS4. Images made in Corel Painter also show this red shift when they are opened in CS4.
My color settings are sRGB, Dot Gain 20% and RGB: Convert to Working RGB.
I am using a NEC 2690 LCD display which is uncalibrated because it is a wide color gamut display and I am using it in its factory set sRGB mode (which cannot be hardware calibrated).
Thanks for any advice on this.

You are making a common error made with screen grabs that is not explained
very often. Here's a way to deal with it:
    1) make the screen grab and save it to a file.
    2) open the file in Photoshop.
    3) assign (don't convert) your monitor display profile to the screen grab.
The red cast should go away at this point.
    4) convert the screen grab to sRGB, or if the image is not destined for the
web, use your preferred working color space.
If the red cast remains, then rebuild your monitor profile, either by using
a calibration device (practical but relatively expensive at $200).
Another way to calibrate your monitor is by displaying a known good sRGB
image (look on drycreekphoto.com for examples) and adjusting your monitor
manually until the appearance matches your expectations. Then assign sRGB
    as your system monitor profile.
If you use either of these procedures (device based or manual) to target
your monitor to sRGB, your screen grabs will be de facto sRGB. There will
be no difference between your screen grabs and the appearance of the image
in Photoshop, and no need to assign your monitor profile.
