The bottom section of the tutorial link above has several Adobe links, and other information, on downloading Premiere Pro CS6 and the bundled Encore CS6, and the TWO ADDED downloads for the Encore library content, to author a DVD or BluRay... and the tutorial list includes learning how to use Encore... pay particular attention to the picture in reply 3 at this link - https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1516173 (picture first posted by Ann Bens and reposted by Stan Jones)

what is the best free program to burn mp4 to dvd w/o watermark?

    Terrabay:
I prefer iDVD for image quality of the final slideshow but you can't have KB effect and can only have one type of transition per slideshow. You can have text and music, however. For what you want to do I agree with Terence that PhototoMovie is probably your best bet. It produces some fine quality movie clips. I only used it once quite a while ago so can't make a judgement on if it's easier than iMovie.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • Burn MP4 to DVD with iDVD

I'm trying to burn an mp4 to dvd using idvd.  When I click on "OneStep DVD From Movie" and select my mp4, iDVD hangs with most menu items grayed out.  Any attempt to interact with the interface just causes a beep.  Any suggestions?

Ok, I answered my own question.  I had a project open at the time. Once I closed the window, selecting "OneStep DVD from Movie" worked just fine.

Does anyone know how to burn mp4's downloaded from the iTunes store onto a DVD that can be played in a DVD player?

Due to licensing restrictions by the copyright holders, you cannot do this.

  • Mp4 to DVD in Compressor, aspect ratio

I'm trying to make a DVD of an mp4 movie I have. I put it in Compressor and chose DVD best quality 150 minutes (since it's over 2 hours) and I made sure the aspect ratio was 2.35:1 since that's what the movie is. It plays fine in the preview window in Compressor but when I export it the image is stretched vertically. How can I maintain the original aspect ratio? Thanks.

I'm not exactly sure. When I click "get info" on the file, it says the dimensions are 1024x576, which is 1.78:1, but the original aspect ratio of the movie on imdb says 2.35:1. I think I might've solved the problem though. When I put the file in Compressor, I changed the "padding" to "preserve aspect ratio" and did a test of a few seconds of footage and it looked correct, so now I'm doing the whole movie.

  • Convert mp4 to DVD for TV?

I apologise if this is the wrong forum area for this question but I couldn't figure out where else to place it...
I have an .mp4 file that someone gave me and I want to play it through a TV. Can it be converted so that it'll write onto a DVD? Or a VCD? Or something else that'll play through a TV set with a DVD player? (Actually, I'm not even sure if a DVD player can play a VCD, come to think of it.)
Many thanks in advance for any help/advice.

    Use Moviegate.
IMHO, much easier to get movies, clips, etc onto a DVD

  • Best to use MP2 to DVD or MP4 to DVD?

I'm very new at burning DVD's so bear with me on this...
First: is MP4 a higher quality format than MP2?  In other words, does it use less compression and/or less lossy compression and/or more technically advanced compression?  The only thing I know is that it looks very good; not as good IQ as original AVCHD footage but I need something to burn to a standard DVD.
    My experience to date:
MP4 (generated by PrE12 from a track made up of mostly AVCHD clips but a couple of others in the mix) was excellent quality.
This same MP4 burned to DVD via my HP laptop burner had the same excellent IQ, but it was jumpy (short stop-go) when played.
This same MP4 burned to DVD via PrE12 played smoothly, but the IQ wasn't as good.
This same MP4 burned to DVD via WinXDVD Author (free version) played smoothly AND retained good IQ.  The IQ wasn't quite as good as the original MP4 file, but that's not surprising because every save or conversion degrades somewhat.  Since this was an initial test and I didn't want to waste a lot of time, I used the 4x setting to burn; I presume that 2.4x (the other option on WinXDVD Author) will yield better IQ.
MP2 (generated by PrE12 from the same track made up of mostly AVCHD clips but a couple of others in the mix) played smoothly, but the IQ wasn't as good, especially in a slo-mo portion.
I often see posts saying that MP2 is the best format for burning to DVD, but from what I've seen so far, it doesn't seem to be the case.  Am I missing something?  Is the main benefit that it doesn't cause the jumpiness on DVD?
And finally, is there some other common format, available as an option on PrE12, that might give a better result in terms of both smooth play and high IQ?

    Bill,
    Thanks for your response.
I don't understand the question, "Do you mean DVD-Video?"
    The MP4 was as follows:
Publish+Share > AVCHD “Use for exporting AVCHD”
    Presets: MP4 – H264 1920x1080p 30
    File Type: H264
    Frame Size: 1920x1080
    Frame Rate (fps): 29.97
Audio Setting: AAC, 160kps, 48kHz, Stereo
    Advanced…
    Output: NTSC, etc., etc.
The MP2 used the only type offered (as far as I could tell) by PrE12:
Publish+Share >MPEG “Use for playback on this computer or burning to DVD”
    File Type: MPEG2-DVD
    ...etc.
    Is there another option?
The two output files were then treated as described above.
The DVD disc burned by using the MP4 yielded cleaner-looking video when played.  Could this simply be a quirk of the burner in my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop?

  • MP3/MP4 CD/DVD freezes iTunes, then Mac

This has been a problem with both iTunes 10.x and now 11 as well. When I insert an MP3 or MP4 CD or DVD in my iMac, iTunes will hang when I try to import it, it won't eject, then the Finder and my whole system will hang.
Once I force-restart, the offending disc will mount and import just fine. Any clues?
    Running OS X 10.8.2 on a mid-2011 27" iMac.

I'll give the recovery partician a try, but I tend to think it's a hard/software conflict as both drives will lock up.
If this were way back in the day, I'd be looking for IDE bus device conflicts... I should run through the "unplug every external device" scenario and try again also.

  • Does Quicktime Pro convert mp4 to DVD ISO?

I already have MP4s, I want them to play on my DVD player.

QuickTime itself will not convert MP4s to a form that can be played by standard DVD players. However there are various programs for the Mac that can do this for you and some of them are free.
If you have an older boxed copy of Apple's iLife software it might have iDVD included which can do this, if you have Roxio Toast it can do this (but otherwise you have to buy it), I believe the free 'Burn' application can also do this - see http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/Pages/English/home.html and there will also be others.

  • H264/mp4 and  DVD studio pro

I have launched dvd studio pro after years and tried  to import a mp4 video file with h264 as codec, dvd sp, did not allow  me to make it,
Sorry for this such stupid question, but what are files extension that dvd sp can manage.

For best results, you need to convert to MPEG-2 video and AC-3 audio. This is easily done in Compressor although there are other apps that work as well.
Technically, you can use MPEG-1 video and PCM/WAV audio but that's a step backwards, and you could use H.264 to make a HD-DVD although the only players for that are a Mac, a PlayStation or an HD-DVD player which went out of production 6-8 years ago.
Use the presets for DVD in Compressor and all should be fine.
    hope this helps
