MS SQL Server Datasource with XA in weblogic server.

Hi,
I am configuring MS Sql Server data source in weblogic console. After I am getting this error in server log.
Driver Class name : com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerXADataSource
Error:

2.) oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/SOADEV_domain/lib
Please advice.
Thanks,

To get an XA connection from a SQL Server database, first the Database needs to be configured for allowing XA. This will need to be done by DBA and by default it is not enabled.
Check these links and ask the DBA if XA is configured on the SQL Server instance you are trying to connect to.

  • Weblogic 10.3 JNDI with SQL Server

    Hi Friends, I am working on a project which requires connection with MS SQL Server.
    I created a data source using weblogic admin console, and used "BEA's MS SQL Server Driver(Type 4) Version:7.0,2000,2005",( I selected one phase commit),and I am able to connect to the data base server with out having any problem , and getting the data. I was doing some couple of operations which are required for my application, after completion of 5 to 6 calls to database, it was showing the error that
    *"SQLException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceLimitException: No resources currently available in pool "testJDBCDataSource" to allocate to applications, please increase the size of the pool and retry..*
    Though my pool size "Initial Capacity:" 3 , "Maximum Capacity: 25" , "Capacity Increment:" 1
    I didn't find any problem in code. We are properly closing the connection where ever necessary.
    Before creating this datasource , we used to connect to the database using normal JDBC connection (class.forName(...) kind of code).
    When I started creating this , it was working fine for couple of transactions but after some time it is showing the above error message.
    Please help
    Thanks a lot
    Peter

    Hi thanks a lot for your reply.
    You mean to say,you want me to make the connection as parameter to a method.
    in my case I am doing like this
    public Connection getConnection() {
              try {
                   // Put the connection properties into hash table.
                   Hashtable<String, String> vibeHash = new Hashtable<String, String>();
                   vibeHash.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
                             "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
                   vibeHash.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://localhost:7001");
    in this case this method is returning a connection object , so that people are using this method and getting the connection.
    Can you suggest me , this kind of calls give any problem.
    Thanks a lot
    Peter

  • JRC bug: apostrophe in string parameter passed to Crystal Report with Command datasource to SQL Server

    Post Author: nl11087
    CA Forum: JAVA
    A single quote/apostrophe in string parameter passed to a Crystal Report with Command datasource connecting to a SQL Server database, using sqljdbc driver does not escape the special character correctly. When doing a preview in the Crystal Reports IDE it allows you to escape the input parameter as expected and work correctly, but through the JRC component it fails. For string parameters without special sql server characters I experience no problems at all. When replacing the Command with a direct table there is also no problem.
    Reproduction:
    1. create a database db1, create a table table1 with a String type column col1.
    2. Create new report Report1.rpt, create a connection to above, Add Command using 'SELECT col1, col2, col3 FROM table1 WHERE col1 = '{?Par1}' . Add a parameter field Par1 : String
    3. In your java stand alone application using JRC add the parameter Par1 with a value "Jon Doe's Value" containing a single apostrophe. Export to PDF. (I also tried MSWord and this failed too, similar behavior). Additionally, in another test try to replaceAll("'","''") to escape it, preventing the code to break, but now it does not retrieve the expected row anymore and you end up with an empty report.

  • Problem with Datasource for SQL Server Express

    I have set up a development environment to develop some processes for the HCSO client and have a question.  I have a turnkey install on my laptop with MYSQL.  The liveCycle databases are in MYSQL.  I have also installed SQL Server Express on this machine and created a table to query that will control workflow.  I added a datasource configuration in the adobe-ds.xml configuration file.  That configuration is:
    <local-tx-datasource>
                <jndi-name>HCSO</jndi-name>
                <connection-url>jdbc:sqlserver://localhost:1433;DatabaseName=DBName</connection-url>
                <driver-class>com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver</driver-class>
                <user-name>username</user-name>
                <password>password</password>
                <min-pool-size>1</min-pool-size>
                <max-pool-size>30</max-pool-size>
                <blocking-timeout-millis>60000</blocking-timeout-millis>
                <autoReconnect>true</autoReconnect>
                <idle-timeout-minutes>15</idle-timeout-minutes>
                <prepared-statement-cache-size>100</prepared-statement-cache-size>
                <transaction-isolation>TRANSACTION_READ_COMMITTED</transaction-isolation>
                <new-connection-sql>Select id from HCSOUser.eric</new-connection-sql>
                <check-valid-connection-sql>Select id from HCSOUser.eric</check-valid-connection-sql>
                <metadata>
                      <type-mapping>MS SQLSERVER2000</type-mapping>
                </metadata>
          </local-tx-datasource>
    In SQL Server, I created a user and a schema with the same name in a database.  I created a simple table called "eric" with one column called "id".  The user was given the appropriate default schema and given full permissions on the database and table.
    In workbench, I added a JDBC query single row activity.  I have configured the datasource as java:/HCSO and also tried java:HCSO.  I then entered the query as "Select id from HCSOUser.eric" and hit test.  Nothing appears in the results area.  I see the following in the server.log:
    2009-09-24 14:44:26,437 ERROR [org.jboss.ejb.plugins.LogInterceptor] RuntimeException in method: public abstract java.lang.Object com.adobe.idp.dsc.transaction.impl.ejb.adapter.EjbTransactionBMTAdapterLocal.doBMT(com.ad obe.idp.dsc.transaction.TransactionCallback) throws com.adobe.idp.dsc.DSCException:

    Hi to all.
    I have a problem using BEA WebLogic Server 3.5 (with service
    pack 1) with SQL Server 2000 as the database. I followed the
    instructions for SQL Server 7 included in the file readme.txt > in WLCS_35_DDLand the (thin) Web documentation on the
    subject. The I tried to run the example portal and the
    templates examples. All is working well apart from the fact
    that some data seem not to be taken from the database. For
    example the example portal lacks the news titles in the "News > Index" portletand the ads in the "AcmePromotion" portlet. In > the templates examples some logo

    Control Center loads, but no campains or discounts, etc. are

  • Weblogic Integration 8.1 with SQL Server 2000

    Will weblogic integration 8.1 support SQL Server 2000 in a future service pack?
    What features do not work with the current version of integration? Has anybody
    tried using it?
    Ben Litchfield

    You need to copy your jar to ${AS_INSTALL}/domains/domain1/lib/ext (replace domain1 by your
    domain). Another option is to leave the jar in ${AS_INSTALL}/lib and add a entry in the classpath-suffix element of your domain.xml.

  • CF 11: Configuration a datasources to MS SQL Backend with encryption enforced by SQL Server

    Hello List;
    I have the following problem: Configuration a datasources to MS SQL Backend with option encryption enforced (by SQL Server).
    I goggled in the internet for the configuration of the datasource and find multiple articles/advices:
    Configuration a datasource type other with jtds.jdbc.Driver and manual configuration of the connection string:
    1. Downloading the driver and copy to the cfusion/lib directory: Done, the driver was recognized by coldfusion after a restart of the service.
    2. Copying the ntlmauth.dll to the bin directory of jre/bin: Done
    3. Configuration of the jdbc URL: jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://xxxx.xxx.xxx.net:1433/db: Works, I don’t  get a connection timeout
    4. User and PW: Works: I don’T get a login failure.
    5. Advanced settings: Connection String: Maybe here is something wrong: EncryptionMethod=SSL; TrustStore=Path\sqlstore.jks; TrustStorePassword=xxx; ValidateServerCertificate=true; HostNameInCertificate=xxx.xxx.xxx.net;
    Error Message (Coldfusion logs/stack trace):  I/O Error: DB server closed connection. SQLException while attempting to connect: java.sql.SQLException: I/O Error: DB server closed connection..
    Has anybody experiences with this topic/can give me advices/send me screenshots.
    frank

    Hi Stephen;
    we tried: add EncryptionMethod=SSL; ValidateServerCertificate=false; to the connection string;
    And it doesn't work.. Are you sure, that you have enabled encryption enforced in your SQL-Server Settings.
    Oherwise the connection works, but the Connection is not encrypted:
    Coldfusion lies!
    You can controll this by veryfining the open connections on the sqlserver with the query:
    SELECT net_transport, protocol_type, encrypt_option ,auth_scheme, program_name FROM sys.dm_exec_connections AS c JOIN sys.dm_exec_sessions AS s ON c.session_id = s.session_id cross apply sys.dm_exec_sql_text(most_recent_sql_handle) AS d
    There you can see the jtds Connectionand the (programname) and the encryt_option (must be true).

  • Datasource with SQL Server

    Hi,
    I'm trying to configure a Database Connection to a MS SQL 2008 Server from UCCX 8.02.
    I've installed the "net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver" (jtds-1.2.5.jar)
    I've configured a Data Source with the JDBC URL:  jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://<IPADDRESS>:1433/<DATABASENAME>
    I've tried various variations but I always get the Error Message: "Test Connection Failed"
    I've tried with DBVisualizer and it works fine.  I've tried the connection string from that and it fails as well.
    Any ideas how to troubleshoot this?

    Hi,
    a few tips:
    SQL Server's default port is 1433, but it may be different. Try to modify your JDBC URL to NOT include the port (e.g. jdbc:jtds:sqlserver:///
    Does the SQL server use the "Default" instance, or is there a named instance? For instance, if you need to use \ not just only when connecting to the SQL Server with your SQL Studio, your SQL Server uses a named instance, named . The correct JDBC URL would be jdbc:jtds:sqlserver:///;instance=
    Are there any network related obstacles, like a firewall or a router in between?
    Also, are there things like forced SSL on the SQL server? Here is a list of JTDS properties you may want to check and adjust the JDBC URL if necessary: http://jtds.sourceforge.net/faq.html#urlFormat

  • Sql server 2008 r2 reportserver integration with sharepoint 2010 datasource credential

    hello,
    I am using sharepoint 2010 and sql server 2008 r2 and integrated in sharepoint integration mode and i am using windows authentication ,not keberos ,so i deletd negotiate in authentication tag in rssharepoint.config file,but when i tried to create data source
    i am getting credential error and when windows credential is used it is getting connected.
    please help.
    thanks

    Hi Krishnakumar_DeV,
    Based on the current description, I understand that you should use the Windows NTLM authentication and delete the Negotiatein in authentication tag from RSReportServer.config which is located in the folder “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web
    Server Extensions\XX\WebServices\Reporting”. You can use a local account or domain account to connect report server, while there is credential error message when creating data source, right?
    To narrow down the issue, I want to confirm some information below:
    1. To connect to remote data source, we can specify the following credentials’ ways:
    •Prompt the user for credentials
    •Store credentials
    •Use Windows integrated security
    •Use no credentials
     Which credential way is you using and what’s the detailed error message?
    2. How do you create the data source?
    If I have any misunderstanding, please feel free to contact me.

    I followed the instruction in weblogic jdbc drivers guide to configure the JTA Transactions to support XA on SQL Server machine and weblogic server which included,
    1.Copying sqljdbc.dll copied to SQL_Server_Root/bin directory from WL_HOME\server\lib.
    2.Copied instjdbc.sql to sql server machine and executed the script with following output,
    Changed database context to 'master'.

    creating JDBC XA procedures
    instxa.sql completed successfully.
    3.Verified that MSDTC service is running on both SQL Server and weblogic machines with XA Transaction enabled and DTC option enabled for both inbound and outbound connections.
    4.Copied sqljdbc.jar (version 3.0 downloaded from msdn portal) to "C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\ext\jdbc\sqlserver" directory and updated weblogic_classpth variable in commEnv.cmd file.
    set WEBLOGIC_CLASSPATH=%JAVA_HOME%\lib\tools.jar;%BEA_HOME%\utils\config\10.3\config-launch.jar;%WL_HOME%\server\lib\weblogic_sp.jar;%WL_HOME%\server\lib\weblogic.jar;%FEATURES_DIR%\weblogic.server.modules_10.3.2.0.jar;%WL_HOME%\server\lib\webservices.jar;%ANT_HOME%/lib/ant-all.jar;%ANT_CONTRIB%/lib/ant-contrib.jar;C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\ext\jdbc\sqlserver\server\ext\jdbc\sqlserver\sqljdbc.jar
    Can some one please provide some input on whats causing this and any other steps needs to be followed to implement XA support using SQL Server JDBC driver.

    You seem to have done everything correctly and diligently. I would ask that you open
    an official support case.

  • MS SQL Server problem with MDB's: javax.transaction.xa.XAException

              I am programming agents in j2ee and using MDB to implement the asynchronicity of
              the agents.
              Those MDB's get messages (MapMessage) from a controller (an SFSB) that contain
              the agent's ID and the action that the agent has to perform. The MDB creates a
              SFSB, and calls the appropriate action from this session bean. Those actions require
              to read and write from my MS SQL Server 2000 XA database. But when running my
              program, I often get this error, which doesn't seem to affect the action, because
              when I check my database data, everything is updated correctly. So the program
              still completes, but the errors slow down the execution (the program hangs for
              about 3 seconds, each time the error occurs).
              Does anybody has an explanation or solution for this?
              Thank you...

  • Using Datasources with Weblogic 7.2

    Hi everyone,
    I am using Weblogic 7.2 with Db2 8.1 fp3(Type 4 Drivers). I am wanting
    to set up a Datasource that would allow my application to connect to
    DB2 using the JNDI lookup for that data-source.
    My question is: what additions/changes I need to make to config.xml in
    order to set this up.Looking at the Websphere Admin Doc, it seems to
    me that I need to atleast add 2 elements to my domain in config.xml:
    1. JDBCConnectionPool
    2. JDBCDataSource(and link it to the above pool)
    I have previously set-up datasources on WAS 5.0. What is confusing me
    w.r.t Weblogic is that there seems to be no way to specify the
    implementing class for the DataSource. e.g. WAS5.0 allows you to
    specify the implementationClassName of the
    datasource(com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2ConnectionPoolDataSource in my case) while
    defining the DataSource.JDBCConnectionPool element in Weblogic does
    have an attribute called "DriverName" but per the documentation it
    should be set to an implementor of java.sql.Driver interface: there
    seems to be no way to set an implementor of javax.sql.DataSource
    anywhere.
    Could anyone please shed some light on how to set this up?
    Thanks much in advance,
    Sachin

    Mitesh,
    Many thanks for the reply. If you don't mind, I have a couple of follow-up questions
    for you.
    1> Does this mechanism work with Type 4 Pure Java Drivers?
    e.g. if I specified the connection pool as
    <JDBCConnectionPool DriverName="com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2ConnectionPoolDataSource" Name="IBM-db2"
    Password="MYPASSWORD" Properties="user=USERNAME;DatabaseName=DATABASE" Targets="MYSERVER"
    TestTableName="SQL SELECT COUNT(*) FROM SYSIBM.SYSTABLES" URL="jdbc:db2:DATABASE"/>
    ==> I changed the DriverName to "com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2ConnectionPoolDataSource"
    which
    is what I believe is the Type-4 version
    2> Setting the DriverName to a javax.sql.DataSource extension seems to suggest
    that the documentation in the "BEA Server Configuration Reference" guide is incorrect:
    -- For the DriverName attribute of the Connection Pool, the guide says that "DriverName
    must be the name of a class that implements the java.sql.Driver interface"
    Thanks again
    Sachin
    Mitesh Patel <[email protected]> wrote:
    <JDBCConnectionPool DriverName="COM.IBM.db2.jdbc.DB2XADataSource"
    Name="IBM-db2-xa"
    Password="MYPASSWORD"
    Properties="user=USERNAME;DatabaseName=DATABASE"
    Targets="MYSERVER"
    TestTableName="SQL SELECT COUNT(*) FROM SYSIBM.SYSTABLES"
    URL="jdbc:db2:DATABASE"/>
    <JDBCConnectionPool DriverName="COM.IBM.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver"
    Name="IBM-db2"
    Password="MYPASSWORD"
    Properties="user=USERNAME;DatabaseName=DATABASE"
    Targets="MYSERVER"
    TestTableName="SQL SELECT COUNT(*) FROM SYSIBM.SYSTABLES"
    URL="jdbc:db2:DATABASE"/>
    Then setup your datasource using one of this connection pools in your
    config.xml. Also, make sure your driver zip files are in the classpath.
    Thanks,
    Mitesh

  • Weblogic7.0 with MS SQL Server 2000 and Callable Statement

    Hello,
    we have a little problem with our weblogic application.
    In the SQL Server we have written a simple stored procedure

    Hello,
    we have a little problem with our weblogic application.Hi. It's not a JDBC issue, it's an EJB/transaction coordinator issue.
    Any transactional EJB JDBC is done under the (usually silent) control of the
    transaction coordinator. For instance, if your code calls Connection.commit()
    in a transactional EJB, it will cheerfully be ignored, because only the transaction
    coordinator knows when and whether to commit the whole transaction, not the
    individual EJB, which may have been called as part of a larger transaction. Another
    aspect of the coordinator's overseeing of the transaction is that once the transaction
    is over, which may be right in the middle of an EJB's running if the transaction
    timeout limit has been reached, then the coordinator will roll back or commit the
    transaction as appropriate and take control of the JDBC objects. Any further attempt
    by the EJB to do any JDBC will result in an exception.

  • Cannot create datasource for MS SQL Server

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create a datasource for MS SQL server and I get this error
    Connection test failed.
    Login failed for user 'gdahan'. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.
    com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException.makeFromDatabaseError(Lcom.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerConnection;Ljava.lang.Object;Ljava.lang.String;Lcom.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.StreamError;Z)V(Unknown Source)
    com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.TDSTokenHandler.onEOF(Lcom.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.TDSReader;)V(Unknown Source)
    com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.TDSParser.parse(Lcom.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.TDSReader;Lcom.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.TDSTokenHandler;)V(Unknown Source)
    com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerConnection.sendLogon
    The database is in "Windows authentication" mode (not "SQL authentication") and I can connect to it through "Toad for MS SQL Server". In this case I don't need to specify any username or password because I'm already logged in as gdahan on my computer. But when I try to create the datasource I need a username and password. Is there any way to specify to the datasource that I want to connect via Authentication windows ?
    I tried with BEA MS SQL server driver and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver 1.2[

    I tried with BEA MS SQL server driver and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver 1.2[See the complete documentation for MS's JDBC driver
    for how/whether it can do Windows Authentication.
    This is completely at the driver level, not WebLogic,
    except that (of course) WebLogic would have to be
    running on Windows.

    Hi,
    Has anyone successfully used the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver (version 1.1) with XA connections ?yes.
    If so, I have the following question:
    As this driver appears to support both TX & XA in the same jar file, how would I go about setting up a connection pool in weblogic to only use XA ?
    Is it a connection parameter ?
    thanks for any advice..
    /NigelIf you want an XA pool, specify the
    driver's XA DataSource as the class
    to use.
