MSS General info - exclude values in filter?

Hi
We have Employee Group as part of the columns in General data.
It is possible to Filter, eg to set Reg* and get all "Regular employees".
But is it possible to filter by excluding a value.
Example:
Given following emp.groups:
Regular Employees
Temporary Employees
External
We want to exclude External employees via filter function.

Currently we are using MSS BP 1.3.1 & SAP_MSS 600 SP16...
I am going to the navigation MSS->Team->EmpInfo->General Info->Employee Search [Under Employee Selection Dropdown i am selecting Employee Serach Option], here i am getting the view with lastname, fistname, Personal No:, Even i am using any of the Search Critiria like Serach With LName,FName And PerNo:, No Employee Search result is Displaying Simply No Data Found Message is coming.
To active this EMp search in MSS do i need configure any steps from SPRO. Any Steps from Portal Front.
To display Team Calender , i configured IGS, what else i need to do to get Team Calender iview in Team Under MSS.
Please list out the steps and provide some help to fix the issue.

Thanks for ur response, Debug in the Sense we need to Maintain any parameters in the Employee Search Parameters w.r.t MSS in the Particular Method or What?
I checked in the SPRO--> Integration with other mySAP Components -->Business Packages > Manager self Services (mySAPERP)>Object and Data Provider--> Define Object Selection / Group Parameters for OBJ Search / Define Rules for Object Selection..
Here we need to create any rule and pass those Group Parameters into that???
I told my ABAPers to debug those two methods, apart from that any HR side SPRO Configuration pending?
Please reply me and list out the Steps, Where and What exact config need to do from SPRO apart from that Debugging????

How to display the excluded values in the filter panel using WAD 3.5

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement in that we need to display five reports as tables.
In these queries two of them have multiple excluded values.
Now i need to display these excluded values in filters pane in my web template.

Hi James,
I believe you are interested in displaying static filters in two of your queries as defined at design time. If so, why not use a Text Element webitem for your display since a Filter Pane is used to filter Characteristics on runtime & display their corresponding filtered values. You may insert two Text Elements for each of your DPs in question, & enable 'Display static filter values' for each. Let me know if this helps.

WAD - Exclude more than one value with filter button

Hi guys
I have been working on a web template with a button to set a filter to exclude two values. E.g. I want to exclude both the values '28' and '30' from the dataprovider.
What I have done is insert a button group item, create a button with the command SET_SELECTION_STATE_SIMPLE to exclude '28' as command 1 and SET_SELECTION_STATE_SIMPLE to exclude '30' as command 2. This does however not give me the correct result, as it only excludes '30' as set in command 2. So the conclusion must be that SET_SELECTION_STATE_SIMPLE can not be used, as it will only work with one value.
So I went on and tried with SET_SELECTION_STATE which gives the possibility to choose more than one filter value. However it does not seem possible to exclude values with this command?
Is it not possible to exclude two filter values with a button in a BI 7.x web template?

How to exclude values in an exit variable?

Hello experts,
I try to exclude special values from my selection via exit variable but I get an error of invalid values.
could it be that something in my selection table is wrong? Do I have to use an other value for SIGN or OPT to exclude values?
my Coding is:
l_s_range-low = '0000000404'.
l_s_range-sign = 'E'.
l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
I tested my values with include them (SIGN = I) and this works fine.
settings of the variable are:
Type of variable: characteristc value
processing by: Customer exit
variable represents: Multiple single values.
Where is the Error?

Hi there,
I tried once to do that, i.e., with customer defined variable use the exclude sign 'E' for a variable but it doesn't work.
Don't know why, but excluding values with 'E' doesn't work.
Although it seems stupid you might consider excluding that value directly in the query in filter, or use BT from a value till 0000000403 and other BT from 0000000405 to above.

You actually need to run it with "check -access"; memuse and leaks won't help with the crash, which happens because of illegal memory access. Hopefully, "check -access" will help you to locate the bad guy, but that's not panacea either.
To be precise:
- start dbx
$ dbx <your app>
- issue
(dbx) check -access
(dbx) run
and wait for dbx to stop and report suspicious memory access.

Issue in F110 exclude values

Hi i have issue regarding f110 exclude values.
In f110 under free selections tab i am selecting document numbers and exclude value check box and i try to post the payment but system is picking that exclude documents also.
kindly give me your valuable inputs on this is there any customiging settings for this?

In Free Selection Tab after you select the Document Numbers, select the Exclude Value CheckBox and give the Document Numbers seperated by Comma.
Space must not be given after comma and the Document Number must be 10 Digit.
If your Document Number is 100101, give 0000100101
Then system will Exclude those Documents.

I'm trying to customize the iviews in MSS > General Information to add fields to the iViews. Thus, I need to identify what are the function modules they are calling. However, when I open sap.com/mss~eepro/ Web Dynpro component in NDWI, I could not see any model! Can anyone explain to me how does this application work then if it has no model to store function modules?

Hi,
if you have access to ECC System go to transaction ST05 and run the trace with the user who is having access to run the iView. after it is on go to portal and run the General Information iView. after executing that go back to ECC system and switch off the analysis and see the RFC trace.
it will show all the Function Modules that are called when executing the iView.
and it is better if we don't make any changes to the standard FM and instead use the custom FM to add the fields, since we did the same sought of development using custom fm.
creating a model and making changes to the application.

I took a look at the documentation of this FM to confirm what I was thinking:
"You can also disable the function allowing users to enter values to be excluded from the selection (SIGN = 'E')."
So I think this is trying to tell us that we can turn off the ability for the user to enter "exclude" but we cannot turn off the option for the user to enter "include" options.
When you set ***-sg_main = 'I', it means that only "include" options are allowed.
I think you will need to do your own validation.
In the event AT SELECTION SCREEN you can do a LOOP on your selection option name and validate the users selections:
LOOP AT SO_MINE.
IF SO_MINE-SIGN NE 'E'.
    SET CURSOR FIELD 'SO_MINE-LOW'.
    MESSAGE E123.
ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
It has been awhile since I used this FM so please let us know how it goes.

as of now we can restrict values based on key values.
but client wants we can restrict values based on text.

if i understand your question
you have a prompt for year.. and it's assigned with presentation variable, say: var_year
And you are just entering value for only one year, say 2000.
Then, the request (which is using that prompt value as filter) should display year values 2000, 2000-1 (i.e. 1999), 2000-2 (i.e. 1998).
Is this your requirement?
If then,
Hope you are using edit box as control for year prompt and assign a presentation variable for that prompt.
Now, in report go to filter of year prompt, click on advance > Convert this filter to SQL.
write here... *Times.Year between @{var_year} and @{var_year}-2*
And make sure that your var_year is integer, if not cast it to integer

Thanks very much for the links. However, I've already gone through the standard documentation in SAP and they are a bit too high level/vague for me. I have considerable experience in xRPM, cProjects Suite and have good grasp of project management concepts, tool and techniques. My knowledge of PS is somewhat limited though.
What I am specifically looking for is what type integration options and scenarios are available. For example, cProjects can have phases and tasks defined. How would these integrate with for example WBS elements and networks in PS? What are the things you would do in cProjects and not PS and vice versa? Hope my question is clearer now.
Appreciate any further information you may have on the above.

Excluding Values

Hello,
Is there a way to exclude values from a query where the 3rd character of a 5 character field is for example "X"? I've tried +X+ which doesnt seem to work. Any ideas? I've been trying this by hard coding this value and excluding it. There must be another way.

I also don't think you could achieve this with an easy approach without customer exist.
You need to have a customer exist and apply your logic in the coding.
