MSVCR100.dll missing on your computer when starting SQL Developer

Hello,
I receive the error MSVCR100.dll is missing on your computer when I try to start SQL Developer.
I completed the following installations:
- Windows Server 2008 R2
- Oracle DB Express Edition
- Java JDK 1.7.0_02
When I now try to start SQL Developer I receive the error message that MSVRC100.dll is missing on my computer.
Does anybody experience the same problem and how can it be resolved.

Hi,
Not sure what happened to that link, but I as far as I know it should make absolutely no difference for security purposes if one chooses the latest Java 7 update or the the latest Java 6 update. I would guess both code lines are patched to same level.
Perhaps you are referring to recent press about vulnerabilities in Java 7 updates _06 and _07? Those issues only apply to browser plug-ins, totally unrelated to SQL Developer, and those can be disabled easily without removing Java.
The official recommendation is to use the latest Java 6 update (jdk1.6.0-35) for SQL Developer. We recommend avoiding Java 7 due to bugs, but bugs unrelated to security.

That one applies for certain launch errors that can occur when iTunes has otherwise installed successfully. I've addressed the same issue in the first box of my tip.
What would be interesting to know is if Aswim does indeed have QTMovieWin.dll in their Program Files\iTunes folder, and if removing it allows iTunes to launch? It would seem that different error messages may be thrown up by different versions of the file on different versions of the OS. Perhaps many more people have been doing a complete rebuild than needed to.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

TS5376 For "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer", I followed the steps and there is no C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files..Also, after the update, I no longer show my disk drive when I load a CD.

After downloading the new Itunes update, my compter now shows error: "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer". I follwed the Apple fix / steps but it did not correct it. Also, after the update my disk drive is not recognized on my computer. If I load a CD, I cannot even access it.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes (similar to the advice above) and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies. E.g. TS2308: iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

So I downloaded itunes again and said that the download was not installed correctly. Then, I tried to download it manually and the same thing happned. If you could help me figure this out, it would be much appreciated.

Repair your Apple Application Support.
Control Panel > Programs n Features (Win7) or Add n Remove Programs(XP) > highlight AAS, click CHANGE then REPAIR.

I researched the advice on the link provided by b noir as well as very similar advice from apple support: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376. It worked for me (for now).
Some things of note:
I did all of the things requested by the link I provided
My computer WOULD NOT uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support. I had to manually remove the folder (also as instructed by the url)
I also uninstalled MobileMe. Was a little different than removing the other apps. Follow instructs provided here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2992
I did not uninstall iCloud
I have to admit it was a bit scary removing all those things. Is important to note that when re-installing Apple, follow steps to do so as Administrator (the right-click thingy and whatnot).

I'm running Indesign CS6 in Windows 7. Lately, when the program is opening, I'm getting the error pop-up: " The program can't start because Core Foundation_v11.dll is missing from your computer. Try re-installing the program to fix the problem" When I click OK the program continues to load as normal, with nothing abnormal going on that I can see. I'd like to get rid of the error message though. I've tried re-installing, and scanning for problems with several anti-virus and anti-malware programs, all to no avail (no sign of any virus or malware). Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to restore the missing file? Many thanks for any help.

Missing file: CoreFoundation_v11x64.dll
I tried to install a trial of Extensis Suitcase last week but for some reason it failed to install. It was after that I started noticing the error message, but because Suitcase had failed to load I didn't connect the two events! After reading the above thread implicating Suitcase, I looked in the InDesign plugins folder and, lo and behold, a folder called Font Activation that contained Extensis files! I moved them out and the error message is gone!

I cannot install sqldeveloper due to the error received: can't start because MSVCR71.dll is missing from your computer "can't start because MSVCR71.dll is missing from your computer". I have Windows 7 and jre installed and first time I have have installed the same sqldeveloper, but after I have tried to installed data modeler, sqldeveloper run in error. I have deleted first sqldeveloper that successfully being installed and then when try to reinstall the installation failed with the reason: "can't start because MSVCR71.dll is missing from your computer...". A new error occured after reinstallation: "Unable to launch the Java Virtual Machine located path...\..\jdk\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll""Please tell me if you have a clue how to fix it and install both sqldeveloper and data modeler. First try an repair of Lync 2013/Office 2013 Pro Plus through Programs & Features.
If that fails and if it is a standalone Lync 2013 installation, uninstall it and then re-install.
If it is part of Office 2013 Pro Plus opposed to Standalone - from Programs & Features select Change and then Add/Remove components. Remove Lync 2013 (select the down arrow and click "Not Available". Once removed, repeat this process but this
time adding it back in.
