Mtl_serial_numbers & mtl_serial_numbers_temp

Can someone please let me know the relationship between the mtl_serial_numbers and mtl_serial_numbers_temp? Is it that the serial numbers are moved into mtl_serial_numbers_temp to mtl_serial_numbers table? If yes, when and what is the logic behind it

will they be moved into mtl_serial_numbers table, with a mark_id populated and current_status = 6 ?
No. This should not happen. All records with status 6 shuold be deleted by the transaction manager.
- or will they remain in mtl_serial_numbers_temp table itself?
Yes, should stay in mtl_serial_numbers_temp.

In inventory we have table MTL_SERIAL_NUMBERS. From the eTRM, we can see there are so many other module tables depending on this table. Is deleting data from this table is advisable? If it is advisable, is there any conditions to be verified before deleting data from this table?

Period.
If you data corruption, please log an SR and request a data fix from Oracle.

How to join MTL_MATERIAL_TRANSACTIONS and MTL_SERIAL_NUMBERS

Hello,
I was browsing a lot to find a solution for this, but I did not find any useful information.
What I would like to do is to create a SELECT query that downloads all material transactions of a particular serialized item.
However I did not find any keys to create a MTL_MATERIAL_TRANSACTIONS LEFT JOIN MTL_SERIAL_NUMBERS link.
Any help is greaty appreciated!

Join with mtl_unit_transactions using the transaction_id column.
The mtl_unit_transactions table has serial number.

Automate transact and ship confirm-fail

we want to automate transact and ship confirm using API. when we test the API separately, it works fine.
when we put them together, when after transact, we will can the ship confirm, it failed at ship confirmed.(transact looks success and the serial number is moved to staging locator)
the syndrome is, the order line is awaiting fulfillment/close (ie: successfully ship confirmed), but the transaction is pending at transaction open interface with
missing serial numbers (no record found in mtl_serial_numbers_temp)
what could be the problem?? is it any missing steps?

Date condition not working correctly in Desktop

I have two custom folders in Admin that are joined. One of the folders contains the following query:

I want my workbook to report the earliest meter reading that exists, based on the date that is specified in the parameters in Desktop. When I create a parameter for the date, the workbook reports the earliest reading in the database; it ignores the date restriction entered in the parameter. This is the parameter:
First Read Date MIN BETWEEN :First Reading Date and SYSDATE
If I include the date condition in the SQL of the custom folder the workbook functions exactly as it should. The date condition is in the SQL as the following:
and current_reading_date between '01-JAN-2007' and SYSDATE
Since the workbook functions correctly when the condition is coded in the SQL but not when it is based on a parameter, I assume the problem is with the parameter. Any ideas on how I may correct this?

Thanks for the response Michael. I tried using the MIN function as you suggested, but I still am not getting the expected result. I’m not sure that I was clear in my initial problem description. I will try to provide more detail with this post.
The reason I have two custom folders is that my original query has a nested Select statement (EAMV) and I couldn’t find a way to pass the parameter from EAMV to Discoverer. Following is the original query. I suppose the first logical questions would be, is there a way to pass the parameter to Discoverer? Would this alleviate the need for the second custom folder?

Using this query I want to show the most recent reading (current reading) and then give users the flexibility to enter an earlier date so the earliest reading as of that date will also show. For example, if they enter 1-JAN-2007 as the parameter and there was a reading taken on 2-JAN-07 and 28-JAN-07, the report should show the 2-JAN-2007 reading (in addition to the most recent reading in a separate column). Currently, everything on the report displays correctly, except for the reading based on the parameter.

The rows in mtl_transactions_interface are processed in 5 phases.
1. Derives dependant columns, eg:acct_period_id, primary_quantity etc..
2. Detailed validation performed on the records
3. On hand qty check for negative qty's etc..
4. Reservations Relieved if demand was created in order entry
5. Rows are moved to mtl_material_transactions_temp where the
transaction processor is called to process these rows and update the inventory levels etc..

How to get schedule line date copied to "First date" in sales order

Dear forum
I am creating a sales order as normal and put in a Requested Delivery Date (KETDAT) for the order.
This requested delivery date is then copied to the "First date" (ETDAT).
Now, the ATP is checked for each line item in the order and a Schedule line date / material availability date is calculated for each line item.
My question is: Is there any way to have the "First date" field of the line item in the sales order populated by the first material availability date (calculated by ATP), instead of copying the Requested Delivery Date? Any user exit? Any config?
It would mean that every time I rerun ATP check in the sales order line item, the "First date" field would change if the material availability date change. If there is multiple material availability (multiple schedule lines) dates per line item, then the earliest date would be copied to the "First date" field.
Is there such functionality? Or possibility to config/program?

OK. Unfortunately reservations cannot be created at the serial number level. So the unsupported way of doing this is updating the mtl_serial_numbers tables. I hope you would know (by some means) which serial numbers you want to allocate to a specific sales orders. If you know, update group_mark_id column in mtl_serial_numbers table with your order_line_Id, This will avoid any one from picking the serial numbers (they will not come up in the LOV or will not be auto allocated).
But you have to make sure to take it off when you actually want to pick this order line and allocate this serial number. So just before you pick release/ confirm this order line you need to update column back to null so that you can allocate that serial number.

we have a package updating the serial numbers using IB API (csi_Item_Instance_Pub.update_item_instance) but it is updating only the records which has no serial numbers present for that instance, if there is a serial number already exists it is not working.

How to add serial number contolled item with serial numbers in sales order.

Hi OM Functional Experts,
I need a help on sales order booking.
We have serial controlled items in our inventory. At the time of booking a sales order, we need to call the items with the appropriate serial numbers [ for example, if i book an item for a qty of 10, then, the system should get the details ( serial number ) of the 10 item's serial number ].
And the serial numbers are Pre-defined by the organization for their internal tracking from the porcess 1 till end of the assembly line.
The purpose of this step, is to reduce the particular serial numbered item from the inventory, when we reserve/pick release the sales order.

How to set selected field in one choice

Hi,
I am using ADF 11.1.1.3 and dynamic tab shell.
In my application i create a question based on different subjects.
This subject is a drop down and the value of this drop down is coming from a VO.I dropped that VO as Select One Choice on my page fragment.
And create question.But when i go to edit that question i want to show the subject ( which was selected at the time of question creation) as selected and the other options in drop down.
For Example-
While creating i had 3 subjects
A,B,C .I selected B and created a question.
When i tried to edit the question i fetch the selected subject from one VO (VO to fetch the quetsions detal) and the list from another one.
The option i tried to resolve this is -

Referencing Global Variable in Forms DDL (Form Personalization R12)

Team,
I'm saving a profile option in a Global variable GLOBAL.FLINV_PROFILE_VALUE when a form opens.
Then I am clearing the variable using Forms DDL and calling FND_PROFILE.SAVE function.
I need to then reset the profile option with a second call to FND_PROFILE.SAVE. I'm trying to use Forms DDL, i.e.

Adding criteria in advanced search BUG in SAVE SEARCH

i added my criteria in advanceed search and evrythiing works ok.
just one thing does not work.
when i try to save my search view i get a message error when i add my new custom criteria with a specific value i get the following error :
missing right parentesis...
any idea ?

i created a specific page from the following xml page :

i wanted to add a new criteria in the advanced search.
I did it by :
_downloading the standard VO
_adding my specific VO by extending it from the standard VO
_in my specific VO i modified the query by adding a new column
_in my specific VO i added an attribute mapping
_adding a new column in the advancedtable region with a sortableheader
_adding in the advancedsearchpanel a new criteria with 2 children (one messgetextinput and a messagestyledtext)
_adding in the advancedsearchmapping a new item
i make a test
now the advanced search has the new criteria in the list.
i type the value i want to filter.
the filter works with the new criteria
now i want to make another test.
i try to use the functionality save search.

ORA-24347: Warning of a NULL column in an aggregate function

The following query works fine, normally.
select max(ship_date) Ship_date,msn.attribute7 from
     mtl_serial_numbers msn,
     mtl_item_categories mic,
     mtl_categories mc
               where      msn.inventory_item_id = mic.inventory_item_id and
               mic.category_id=mc.category_id and
               mic.category_set_id=1 and
          mc.segment1 in ('ILMI','ILM','ILMI-UNT')
          Group by msn.attribute7
But when I include the same query inside a SQL report it gives me the Following error message
ORA-24347: Warning of a NULL column in an aggregate function
Help me out.

I tried out with some Dummy Date, it worked fine.
But the problem I am facing here is I cannot assume
any Date for the corresponding column. Whether there
is any other possibility to avoid this problem without
giving any dummy date?
