Naren. In your action you need to call getParameterValues, which (if everything goes according to plan) will give you a String array of the values that were selected.

  • Multi-select drop-down

    Hi,
    I'm using Jdevelopre 11112 and JHS 11.1.1.2.29,
I need to have a multi select Drop-down.
is there a way to have multi-selection choise in drop-down?
    thanx in advance

No, this is no standard JHeadstart functionality.
You can built it manually in a generated page (ask JDeveloper forum for help if you don't know how to do this), and then use JHeadstart custom templates to keep your page generatable.

  • Multi-Select (drop down list) data not saving upon save/email

I have created a drop down list and modified it to allow multiple selection, i.e.
    form1.BusinessAreaTable[1].Row1[4].ERP::ready:form - (JavaScript, client)
    this.ui.choiceList.open= "multiSelect"; this.rawValue
    = "-1"
However, when I go to save the form and/or email the list fields erase and the data / items I selected are gone.
    Please help, thanks.

Okay, I have the form now.
You are using script in the form Ready event to make a dropdown list mimic a listbox. This is totally unnecessary. I have changed the ERP to a multi-select listbox in the Object > Field palette and commented out the script.
    Here is the form: https://acrobat.com/#d=K*P4xKIA4kkqEHGTpgyvvw
The form has not been Reader Enabled, so user with Reader will not be able to save the data inputted or submit by email in PDF format:

  • DW-MX-04 Drop-down menus won't work.

I'm using Dreamweaver MX 2004 (have been for several years, so I know my way around it).  I want to create drop-down or fly-outs menu's to consolidate page links into categores in order to reduce the number of link tabs I have on each page.  I've been able to create the menu's I needed (using: Tag Chooser\ Behaviors\ Show Pop-U Menu), but when I preview the pages in IE, the text only shows on the mouseover text (not on top) despite having the text color set as black in the Menu window.  But it gets worse.  When I uploaded the page to try it, the drop down menus don't show up at all when I hover over the main buttons and  I get javascript errors.
Can anyone give me so assistance on how to resolve this?
I've checked the text color issue using the code view editing pane, and it matches the way I have it setup in the Pop-Up Menu.  But that's the least of my worries if I can't get them to work at all when the pages are live.
    Thanks...JEB

MX2004 software is also somewhat antiquated and no longer supported by Adobe.   So it shouldn't surprise you that the tools from nearly a decade ago are obsolete today.  The web itself has changed significantly since 2004!
Web standards have moved from HTML3 to HTML5.  Layouts have departed from old school nested tables to more efficient CSS.  Unlike a decade ago, today's web devices include everything from hand held smartphones & tablets to laptops, desktops and TV displays.  So it's not possible to stand still and keep pace with the evolving web.  If you're not moving forward, you're falling behind.
CSS is not an extension.  HTML = content.  CSS = Cascading Style Sheets.  CSS is used to style your content.    With CSS you can make an ordinary list look like a very cool menu with buttons, borders, shadows, drop-down and rollover effects.  If you master CSS, you can do some very creative things with it.  However, coding skills are essential.
Below is an example of an unordered list styled with CSS to make a nice horizontal drop-menu.
    http://alt-web.com/DEMOS/CSS-Multi-colored-drop-menu.shtml
To further illustrate the efficiency and power of CSS, look at CSS Zen Garden.
    http://www.csszengarden.com/
Every page on the right panel contains exactly the same HTML code as the first.  The only difference is the CSS code.
The shift to CSS is intended to help web designers keep styles separate from content. Learning to work with CSS will make a you better web designer and save countless hours of tedious re-coding when you decide to change the look of your site.  It's much easier to edit one file instead of many.

  • Need cascading drop downs based on non hierarchial attributes

Post Author: Out of the box thinking
    CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
Using BO XI Web Intelligence.  I am trying to create multiple dropdowns to dictate the data input for a report.  The drop downs should include attribute values for products.  (EG: Color, Size, Flavor, Brand etc) these attributes do not follow a structured hierarchy and does not have a parent to child relationship.  I am trying to dictate the values that should be shown in all dropdowns based on the value selected in any drop down.  For example, if the user selects "Red" from the "color" drop down, Brand dropdown content should only include those brands that have "Red" products.  Similarly, "Flavor" dropdown should only show the flavors that has "Red" products.  These dropdowns should not be in the report body.  They should be in the left hand user control menu.
Is this something already available? If not, any work arounds?
    I appreciate any inputs.

    Hi,
First of all: if I understand you correctly, you do want your checkbox value to be available within the view object. If so, you need to make it a transient attribute of your VO and your checkbox must be databound to that attribute (you were talking about a non-databound item). Whether the item relates to anything in the database is irrelevant from a JHeadstart point of view.
Your second question is actually an ADF related question, it has nothing to do with JHeadstart. In general I would say that you either update View Object attributes immediately when the flag is changed, or you do it in the Entity itself at Commit-time. What you are suggesting seems like an area for architectural improvement.

  • How do i change the backgrond color of a drop down box.

I'm creating a form which has a colored background and a drop down box with 5 choices.  The problem is the font color in the drop down box is white and so is the background color of the drop down box so the selections are not visible unless you scroll over them.  I would like the background of the drop down box to match the background of the form.
Also, can the font size of a selection in a drop down box be different then what is displayed.  The font is set to 35 so it's huge when displayed in the drop down box.  It would be nice if the selections were displayed in the drop down box in size 10 font but displayed on the form once selected as size 35.
    Thanks!
    Mike

You can set the background colour with (in formcalc):
$.fillColor = "5,5,5" // obviously changing the numbers to the RGB colour you want
or if it is not going to change just set it in Border tab under Background fill.
For the size of the font - set the dropdown box to size 10 font and then in the exit event of the dropdown list put (in formcalc):
    $.font.size = "35pt"

  • How to increase the width of the drop down list box in SSRS multi value parameter

    Hi,
I am using SSRS 2012. I have a parameter, which accepts multi value.
The width of the drop down list box is very small, and the user need to scroll to the right to view the complete view of the content in the list box. But, if I don't use multi value then the length is good.  Kindly suggest how to I increase the width
of the list box when it set to multi value parameter.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mahalengam Arumugam

    Hi Mahalengam,
After testing the issue in my local environment, I can reproduce it. When the values for a single parameter are too long, the drop-down list of the parameter will automatically enlarge to an appropriate size. While the values for a multiple parameter are
too long, we need to scroll to the right to view the complete view of the content in the list box in SSRS 2008. But in SSRS 2008R2 and SSRS 2012, we can directly drag the black control at the bottom of the list box to control the size.
The following screenshot is for your reference:
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.
    Thanks,

    Hi Katherine,
Thanks for your reply. I understood we need to drag the list box to a maximum size to view the contents.
But, this seems an additional task, i know this is a limitation in the current version of SSRS and hope it will be resolved in the next versions.
    Thanks for your efforts,

  • Can a drop down list item be multi line?

    got (another) problem.
Client has asked me to add a new drop down list of reference codes. Some of these codes are very long - the biggest one reaching 3 lines A4 width.
So testing it as a pdf I notice that anything that goes beyond the visual area of the dropdown shows as a pop-up box for the user to select - which is nice - at least they can see the entire content. Unfortunately, when they select this item it cuts off most of the content and the same happens when the form is printed.
Ideally, if the entry is selected it would be great for it to appear in multi lined format so it can be entirely visible/printed - is this possible?
If not, any other ideas. The list is about 20 entries deep and although I could just have it as a list with checkboxes I'd rather keep the form as succinct as possible.
    Thanks,
    Sunil

    Hi radzmar,
Your links sounds like it's the right answer for me. Unfortunately, the correct answer has a link to a file that keeps bouncing me to the adobe.com from page so I can't see the code or any other information apart from the lo res screen shot. Can you help me any further?
    Many thanks,
    Sunil

  • How do I customize the background color of the Bookmarks Drop Down Menu?

The drop down bookmark menu is a very light grey and the highlighting is also very light and hard to see. Where in about:config can I change these colors.
Also is there a way to bold certain bookmark items in the bookmark menu?
    I'm using ver. 19.02

I appreciate the amount of time you put into typing up the example and I'm sure the example is great, but again...I have no idea how to use it or where to put it.
You were supposed to install [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish/ the Stylish extension]. Once installed, there's a new category in the Add-ons Manager called User Styles. In that category, there's a button labeled Write New Style which opens a window where you can paste or write CSS code; click the Preview button to see what how your style affects the interface or a web page, or the Save button to keep it.
Styles in the userChrome.css file cannot be previewed, and any changes only take effect after restarting Firefox. Since the ChromeEdit Plus extension simply allows you to edit that file, presumably it has the same limitations.
    Anyway...

<pre><nowiki>/* Menu bar bookmarks menu background */

Note that you can replace '''silver''' with another named color, or an RGB color value.

How do I designate what menu items I want in bold face?
The relevant bit of information is the bookmark or folder name. Note the value of the label attribute in the above example (the stuff between quotation marks); that's how you show the Recently Bookmarked folder in bold text. You can combine several selectors (the stuff before the first { character) into one by separating them with a comma, like so:
    <pre><nowiki>#bookmarksMenuPopup menu[label="Some folder"],
    #bookmarksMenuPopup menu[label="A different folder"],
    #bookmarksMenuPopup menuitem[label="This one's a bookmark"],
    #bookmarksMenuPopup menuitem[label="Some other bookmark"],
    #bookmarksMenuPopup menu[label="Yet another folder"] {
    font-weight: bold !important;
    }</nowiki></pre>
    You're welcome.
