  • Multi-row single table form

    Hi,
    Is is possible to create a portal form based on a single table which can display/insert multiple rows in a single action?
    I have tried the custom display which supports displaying multiple rows. However, it sees these as duplicates since there is no way of specifying a distinction between each row, so only one row is inserted although values for multiple rows are entered.
    Here's an example of the BODY section of my custom display:
    <TABLE BORDER="0" CELLSPACING="0" CELLPADDING="0">
    <TR>
    </TR>
    <TR>
    <TD><#PARAMETER_NAME.LABEL#></TD>
    <TD><#PARAMETER_VALUE.LABEL#></TD>
    <TD><#PARAMETER_DESCRIPTION.LABEL#></TD>
    </TR>
    <TR>
    <TD><#PARAMETER_NAME.ITEM#></TD>
    <TD><#PARAMETER_VALUE.ITEM#></TD>
    <TD><#PARAMETER_DESCRIPTION.ITEM#></TD>
    </TR>
    <TR>
    <TD><#PARAMETER_NAME.ITEM#></TD>
    <TD><#PARAMETER_VALUE.ITEM#></TD>
    <TD><#PARAMETER_DESCRIPTION.ITEM#></TD>
    </TR>
    </TABLE>
    </TD></TR><TR><TD>
    This displays multiple rows, but I don't know if it's possible to use a special syntax so each rows values are seen as separate, e.g. _1 added after ITEM?
    Any ideas??
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    This feature is not supported by Portal Forms right now. The only way you can do it is to create your own dynamic page.

  • JSF multi row editable detail form -- moving backwards or forward

    Innocently trying to create an intuitive editable master detail JSF form. Similar to what you would want in any application and something that can be done in less than a minute in Oracle Forms
    The master form is a just a simple editable single master form based on the dept table. and the detail is the emp table. I have create the model using the wizard and made sure a link view is created.
    The details form is a multirow form with all the editable columns
    I added two button for the details form (create, remove)
    I entered the master record (no commit yet)
    then i moved the cursor to the details form and created a few records, i found an error in the second row in the detail form, therefore, innocently, i selected that row and pushed the Remove button. shocked to find out that the first row in the details form is deleted regardless of which row is selected. Additionally, when a row is created using the create button, the row is created above the first row of the details form (as if the first row in the details form is always current).
    Such requirement should be easily satisified by a Framework?

    thank you frank for your response
    Actually, my DETAILS form DOES include the Select Option, and i was really expecting (and accepting) the fact that i need to point to the row i need to delete. Actually, 20 years back i was 8080 assembly language programmer, and used to handle thing at very very low level. However, i do select a row, and i can see the Radio activated for that row, unfortunately though, the seemingly selected item in the DETAILS form is not the one that is removed, it is instead, the first row that is actually removed. It seems as if the form rows are not synchronized with the ROW selector you mentioned,, The first row is somehow internally selected (always)
    This is the interesting part.
    I created another project with a single multi row editable table (without master details) only a master, and guess what, it is working beautifully! exactly as you descirbed. Select a row, press delete and there you go, the record no longer exists

  • How to set Destination URI of a column in a multi row table

    Hi,
    I need to programmatically set the destinationURI property of a 'messageStyleText' column in a multi-row table.
    I have used the below code in the processRequest of the Controller of the page:
    OAViewObject viewObject = (OAViewObject)am.findViewObject("IntSummBackOrdDetVO");
    String url = (viewObject.getCurrentRow().getAttribute("ErrorCode")).toString();
    url = "/oiphtml/o2c22_"+url+".htm";
    OAStaticStyledTextBean errorlink = (OAStaticStyledTextBean) webBean.findChildRecursive("ErrorCode1");
    errorlink.setDestination(url);
    But this code is not working. Could you please help me in correcting the above code?

    user594528 ,
    What ur trying to do can be conceptually possible through bound values only as there are many rows in table.Read bound values section in dev guide, to understand the fundamentals.
    You can refer to thread to correct ur code:

  • Title/Heading/Row-Align Multi-Column Tables

    File under: Frame Annoyances, with a limited hacky work-around
    In the two-column format we commonly work in, we often need a table that is column-wide, but may flow into multiple colums.
    The problem is that the continuation heading (and TableTitle, if used), never align with the starting heading/title. This is because the continuations start at top of column, whereas the table itself starts (by "Anywhere" default) below the anchor line (presumed to be "In Column" for this discussion)..
    OK, what if we change Table > Table Designer [Basic] Start to:
    Top of Column: Oops, that becomes top of next column, leaving the anchor text column-widowed (but it gave me an idea).
    Top of Page: Oops, that becomes top of next page, leaving the anchor text page-widowed.
    Float: No effect
    OK, what if we change the anchor text Format > Paragraph > Para Designer [Pagination] Format to:
    [Pagination] Across All Columns (AAC): Oops, table appears only in left column on all pages, or;
    [Basic] Space & Line Spacing, including negative values, appears to have no effect. Using a tiny font only minimizes the problem, and doesn't cure it.
    I thought I had figured out how to solve this at one time, but could not recall it. I'm posting this in part to solicit some simpler solution. Web searching found only one solid candidate solution, and it was, of course, 404. Perhaps Frame versions later than the FM7/Win and FM7.1/Unix that I routinely use have enhancements to address this.
    We normally just sidestep the problem by using an AAC format and a table that spans the page, with a fake center gutter, simulating a multi-column flow. But in a recent case, I wanted a real single-column-wide table of variable length (due to conditional rows and expected future growth), but I wanted the headings to align across columns. The table did fit on a single page, which is a limitation of the following hack.
    Hack: This example presumes a normal 2-column page text frame that is 7.5in wide with a 0.24in gutter (3.63in columns), and table that needs no more than one page. It works for 3- and 4-column layouts as well.
    Use an AAC anchored frame text line.
    Create a full page width (7.5in) anchored frame (which can be Below, Top of Col, as desired).
    Create a text frame inside the anchored frame. This frame is:
    one more than your standard page (3-column for this example)
    Same gutter size (0.24in for this example).
    Initially draw the text frame to fit inside the the anchored frame, so you can easily grab it.
    Make sure the default (anchored table) paragraph format of the first column is "In Column".
    Use Graphics > Object Properties to adjust the inside text frame:
    Set Width: to your standard text frame total width plus 1 column and 1 gutter (11.37in for this example).
    Set Offsets: to 0 and 0 (this will push the rightmost column out of sight for the moment).
    Insert your table at the anchored table text of the inside text frame.
    In Table Designer, set Start: to Top of Column (this pushes the start of table to column 2).
    Select the internal text frame again.
    Set Offset From: Left: to negative one column + one gutter (-3.87in for this example).
    The table now appears to start in page column one, and flows to additional columns with heading alignment.
    This worked perfectly for my recent requirement. In fact, I used a 3-column layout (4 actual) for the text frame inside the anchored frame. Some math is required, sorry .

    I'm not sure if I followed that correctly, but if I read it right, you
    have a single-column table that spans multiple columns, and the issue is
    that the first column does not butt up against the top of the text
    frame, while the additional columns do. You want the table in all
    columns to butt up against the top of the text frame so that they are even.
    If that is the case, the solution is this:
    1. Create a paragraph format called "TableAnchor" in the Paragraph
    Designer. Assign it with a negative Space Below of -12.0 pt, "Fixed"
    line spacing, "Start Anywhere.," "In Column." Assign the font size as
    12.0 pt.
    2. Create your table format. Give it a Space Above of 12.0 pt.
    3. Then, always insert your table into its own, empty TableAnchor
    paragraph. You will get the alignment you seek.
    NOTES: Anywhere I said "12.0 pt," you can use a different font size-- as
    long as you use the same number in each place. You may also want to
    create a TableAnchorAAC paragraph format, which is identical except for
    the Across All Columns setting, to hold tables that span multiple columns.
    I hope I understood the question correctly and was of help.

  • Multi-row insert in master-detail tables

    Hi, I'm using jdev 10.1.3.2 with jheadstart and my problem is:
    I hava a master-detail structure, both are tables and my goal is that I want multi insert (exactly 3) in master and detail table when user makes new order(some business scenario). I cannot create rows in master or detail VO by overriding create() method because its entities have complex primary keys and some part of this key is populated by the user with lov. So I set in jhs new rows to 3 and checked multi-row insert allowed but the problem is that overall I can only create rows in master table after I submit form. I want to create row in master table and fill rows in detail table, and after that I want to have opportunity to create second (or even third) row in master table and fill rows in detail table.
    thanks for help.
    Piotr

    See JHS DevGuide: 3.2.1. Review Database Design:
    If you are in the position to create or modify the database design, make sure all
    tables have a non-updateable primary key, preferably consisting of only one
    column. If you have updateable and/or composite primary keys, introduce a
    surrogate primary key by adding an ID column that is automatically populated.
    See section 3.2.4 Generating Primary Key Values for more info. Although ADF
    Business Components can handle composite and updateable primary keys, this
    will cause problems in ADF Faces pages. For example, an ADF Faces table
    manages its rows using the key of the underlying row. If this key changes,
    unexpected behavior can occur in your ADF Faces page. In addition, if you want
    to provide a drop down list on a lookup tables to populate a foreign key, the
    foreign key can only consists of one column, which in turn means the referenced
    table must have a single primary key column.

  • Issues in Table with Multi-Row Insert

    I have created a master detail screens using jheadstart on 2 separate pages, Master in the Form layout and detail in the Table Layout with multi-row insert, update and delete flags ON. Have set the New Rows count = 2.
    Issue 1
    If I try to delete any existing rows, it gives error for new rows saying value is required for the mandatory fields. It should just ignore the new rows if I have not updated any values for any attributes in the those row(As it does for non Master-Detail Table layout). I guess this might be happening because the jheadstart code is setting the foreign key for new rows the detail, but not resetting the status of the rows back to INITIALIZED.
    I also noticed that the create() of underlying EO is getting called for those blank rows when I click on 'Save' button, even if I have not changed any data in those rows.
    Issue 2
    When I try to select the new rows also for deletion, I am getting a '500 Internal Server Error' with following stack trace... This is also happening for normal (non Master-Detail) Table layout.
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: AdfFacesContext was already released or had never been attached.     at oracle.adf.view.faces.context.AdfFacesContext.release(AdfFacesContext.java:342)     at oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.webapp.AdfFacesFilterImpl.doFilter(AdfFacesFilterImpl.java:253)     at oracle.adf.view.faces.webapp.AdfFacesFilter.doFilter(AdfFacesFilter.java:87)
    Issue 3
    I have put some validation code in the validate() method in the MyEntityImpl.java class.
    The validate method seems tobe getting called lots of times, in my case 20 times, where the new rows are just 2.
    Environment:
    Jdeveloper 10.1.3, JHeadStart 10.1.3 build 78, Windows XP
    thanks

    Thanks for the reply.
    Issue 1:
    What I have observed that in case of multi-row select enabled tables, the blank rows do not have any data. This is because the EO's create() method is called only when we post the data using 'Save' button. Thus the Foreign Keys are also not setup. This is a correct behavior since create() and FK setups etc should get done only if the user has inputted any value in the new rows and thus intend to insert new data into the table.
    I am able to find the exact cause of this issue. It is happening because in the details table, I have a column which needs tobe shown as checkbox. Since we can only bind checkbox to an Boolean attribute in VO, I have created a transient attribute of type Boolean, which basically calls the getter/setter of actual attribute doing the String "Y"/"N" to true/false conversion. Here is code for the transient attribute getter/setter
    public Boolean getDisplayOnWebBoolean() {
    return "Y".equals(getDisplayOnWeb()) ? Boolean.TRUE : Boolean.FALSE;
    public void setDisplayOnWebBoolean(Boolean value) {
    if(Boolean.TRUE.equals(value))
    setDisplayOnWeb("Y");
    else
    setDisplayOnWeb("N");
    Now when I click on the "Save" button, the setter for the boolean field is getting called with the value = false and this is resulting into the row being maked as dirty and thus the validation for the required attributes is getting executed and failing.
    Issue 2:
    Confirmed that correct filter-mapping entries are present in the web.xml.
    Now when I select the new blank rows for deletion and click save, following exception is thrown:
    java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.jheadstart.controller.jsf.bean.NewTableRowBean at oracle.jheadstart.controller.jsf.bean.JhsCollectionModel.getRowsToRemove(JhsCollectionModel.java:412) at oracle.jheadstart.controller.jsf.bean.JhsCollectionModel.doModelUpdate(JhsCollectionModel.java:604) at oracle.jheadstart.controller.jsf.lifecycle.JhsPageLifecycle.processModelUpdaters(JhsPageLifecycle.java:541) at oracle.jheadstart.controller.jsf.lifecycle.JhsPageLifecycle.validateModelUpdates(JhsPageLifecycle.java:571)

  • How to get the selected rows & columns in the table?

    hi everybody,
                         In my application the table is kept inside the event structure.I select the cells  in the table (using mouse) on running time.How to get the selected number of rows & columns in that table?

    Hello,
    You can fill selected values of the table by writing to it or the corresponding property using a property node - the table is just a 2D array of strings.  I think for your "disable" question you are referring to the shortcut menu (when you right click).  If you are using LabVIEW 8.x, you can edit or disable that shortcut menu - just right click on your table at edit time and choose Advanced >> Run-Time Shortcut Menu.

  • Where can I find the function "mark a line" in a table (not a row but the line in-between the rows/columns)

    In the old version of Numbers (09) as well as in the same Pages version I could choose to allow to mark single lines inbetween rows/columns in order to choose to create different types of lines to mark separations in different sections or just single cells within a table, how do I do that in the recent upgrade?!!! I´m going mad over here!!!!!

    Hi A-S,
    Do you mean Cell Borders in the Format Panel?
    To create this?
    Or if you want borders under only A5 and C5 (but not B5) command click on those cells to select them before applying the borders in Format Panel

  • How can I write into a table cell (row, column are given) in a databae?

    How can I write into a table cell (row, column are given) in a database using LabVIEW Database Toolkit? I am using Ms Access. Suppose I have three columns in a table, I write 1st row of 1st column, then 1st row of 3rd column. The problem I am having is after writing the 1st row 1st column, the reference goes to second row and if I write into 3rd column, it goes to 2nd row 3rd column. Any suggestion?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    When you do a SQL INSERT command, you create a new row. If you want to change an existing row, you have to use the UPDATE command (i.e. UPDATE tablename SET column = value WHERE some_column=some_value). The some_column could be the unique ID of each row, a date/time, etc.
    I have no idea what function to use in the toolkit to execute a SQL command since I don't use the toolkit. I also don't understand why you just don't do a single INSERT. It would be much faster.

  • Applying table scroll bar for only table rows with table columns fixed.

    hi oa gurus,
    i had implemented table scroll bars using oarawtextbean , there is no problem in vertical and horizontal scroll bar working its working fine. but the requirement is i need to scroll only the table rows with table columns fixed. so , how to achieve the table scroll for only table datas neglecting table headers.
    the code for vertical and horizontal bars scroll is like this,
    OARawTextBean ors = (OARawTextBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("raw1");
    ors.setText(div id=tabledivid style=height:500px;width:100%; overflow:auto>);
    OARawTextBean ore = (OARawTextBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("raw2");
    ore.setText("</div>");
    where raw1 and raw2 are rawtextbean created above and below of the table . but i dont know hoow to apply this only for table rows neglecting table columns , can anybody give any ideas.

  • How do i set the background of the table( not of cell / row / column).

    How do i set the background of the table( not of cell / row / column).
    What happens when i load the applet the table is blank and displays the background color is gray which we want to be white.
    We tried using the setBackGround but it is not working maybe we are not using it properly. Any help would be gr8.
    Thanks in advance.

    I don't understand very well, but i guess that the background is gray when the table content's empty, isn't it?
    When the table model is empty, the JTable doesn't paint, so its container displays its background (often gray).
    In this case, what you must do is force the table to paint, even if the model is empty. So, you have to create your own table and override three methods :
    public class MyTable extends JTable
    //specify the preferred and minum size when empty
    myPreferredWidth = 200;
    myPreferredHeigth =200;
    myMinimunWidth = ...;
    myMinimunHeigth = ...;
    public Dimension getPreferredSize()
    if(getModel().getRowCount() < 1)
    return new Dimension(myPreferredWidth, myPreferredHeigth);
    else
    return super.getPreferredSize();
    public Dimension getMinimumSize()
    if( getModel().getRowCount() > 0)
    return new Dimension(myMinimunWidth, myMinimunHeigth);
    else
    return super.getMinimumSize();
    protected void paintComponent(Graphics g)
    if (getModel().getRowCount<1 && isOpaque()) { //paint background
    g.setColor(Color.white);
    g.fillRect(0, 0, getWidth(), getHeight());
    else super.paintComponent(g);

  • Row/column counter for tables

    Hello,
    I know this is very basic, but so far examples I dug up don't really anything remotely to what I want.
    I have 3 databases. Well they are defined as "connections" in SQLDeveloper I hope that's the same I am still not used to Oracle abstractions.
    Each has several tables. All I want is loop through each of the 3 DBs and log row count and table count.
    Say DB1:
    Rows: Columns:
    Table1: x y
    Table2: x y
    I don't really care what's inside them. I found one example that did it but it listed some system tables that aren't part of my db. Changing "owner" didn't really help.
    From the value of the variable "Owner" means a database, is that correct?
    Oh and I also don't care if the code is "inefficient", tables aren't that big.
    Thanks in advance.

    not sure what you are planning to achieve, but you can use below query to get owner of table, table name , column name, number of tables by owner and number of column in a table (belonging to owner). This will require access to dba_tab_columns.
    select owner,table_name,count(*) over(partition by owner) count_table,column_name,count(*) over(partition by owner,table_name) count_column from dba_tab_columns;

  • Repeat to create multi-column table

    I'm trying to use a spry:repeat directive to create a
    two-column table. What I would like to have generated as a result
    of the repeat is something like the following:
    <table>
    <tr>
    <td>row[0] data</td>
    <td>row[1] data</td>
    <tr>
    <tr>
    <td>row[2] data</td>
    <td>row[3] data</td>
    <tr>
    </table>
    Using the spry:test directive it's easy to get only the even
    rows in the first TD element, but I can't figure out how to
    reference the data element for the second TD in each table row.
    Here's what my HTML looks like:
    <div id="thumbContainer" spry:region="dsPhotos">
    <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr align="center" valign="middle" spry:repeat="dsPhotos"
    spry:test="loadThumb({ds_RowNumber}, {ds_RowCount})">
    <td width="85" height="85"><img
    src="thumbnails/{filename}" /></td>
    <td width="85" height="85"><img
    src="thumbnails/{filename}" /></td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </div>
    The loadThumb function returns true for every other row. That
    works correctly and I see the even-numbered items in the two
    columns of each row. I've tried replacing the contents of the
    second img src attribute with every imaginable combination of
    dsPhotos.getData() and I can't find the magic combo that gets me
    the filename of the *next* row. I did try different usages of the
    ds_RowNumberPlus1 data reference but wasn't able to get that to
    work either. I verified that if I create two separate tables and
    use floating div's to get them to appear side-by-side and use
    separate spry:test functions to get the even and odd rows, I can
    iterate the data set twice and get the right contents in each
    table, but I would like to be able to solve this with a single
    table and a single iteration of the data set. Can anyone shed some
    light on how I should reference the n+1th row in my HTML table
    definition above?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    XE provides the browser-based interface for 'convenience'. You could always switch to SQLPlus or use the SQL Window and enter it manually. You could do this after the table has been created by using a documented syntax such as this sample
    ALTER TABLE sales
    ADD CONSTRAINT sales_pk PRIMARY KEY (prod_id, cust_id) DISABLE;
    found at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/clauses002.htm#i1002629
    The referenced doc also shows how to create the constraint at the same time as the table.

  • ADF Editable Table : CANNOT Insert Multi Rows , Please hellppppssss

    Hi All,
    Our customer requirement is being able to insert Multi Rows in an Editable Table and submit ALL of them with just one Click ?
