Multi-Touch Touchpad only works with Apple apps?

Hi, I was wondering if the touch gesture on the touchpad only works with Apple apps. I can not get the 3 finger swipe to work on Firefox but it works on Safari. Do you guys know if there is a way to get around this problem?

Another reasons to go with Safari as your main Browser. It has ever improving performance too. Firefox is a bit out of date imo now (The Mozilla Foundation is actually going through beta testing and development of an improved browser), so offers little apart from customization of its appearance, not a factor ahead of Safari either imo since it has a neat professional appearance.

Can't sign in using any 3rd party email client with my iCloud account on any Mac or any other Mac. My iCloud will only work with Mail.app. All the clients I tried work perfectly well as long as I sign in with somebody else's iCloud account. But mine won't work no matter the client (Postbox, Unibox, Airmail...) and no matter the computer.
I can access my account on iCloud.com, but I can't use email clients without getting error messages prompting me to check my password or login.
I was able to use those clients in the past but a couple of months ago I got logged out of Airmail and the issue started just like that!
I tried every possible mail server settings including the following:
IMAP information for the incoming mail server
Server name: imap.mail.me.com
SSL Required: Yes
If you receive errors when using SSL, try using TLS instead.
Port: 993
Username: The name part of your iCloud email address (for example, emilyparker, not [email protected])
Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP information for the outgoing mail server
Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
SSL Required: Yes
If you receive errors when using SSL, try using TLS instead.
Port: 587
SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
Username: Your full iCloud email address (for example, [email protected], not emilyparker)
Password: Your iCloud password

Those are the correct settings, and they work with any email client that supports Imap.
Try again.

Hulu plus only works with apple tv

I am able to access hulu plus from apple tv but not thru a computer, mobile device or roku tv box. Unable to contact customer service to get help. Seems its a apple issue since it only works with the apple tv.
Anyone have similar problems like this?

ISight not working with Apple apps but only with Skype and flash....

Hi guys, don't know why but suddenly my isight stopped working with every apple application, like ichat, imovie and photoboot, but it still works with skype and safari (flash).
The camera simply doesn't work, the green led stays off.... I tried resetting PRAM, SMC, deleted .plist files, tried new account and everything...
Maybe the problem is facetime, I uninstalled it by simply dragging it to the trashcan, so I followed a thread here and manually deleted its last files but no luck....
Please guys help me, I really hope I don't have to FORMAT my mac... sounds so windows to me XD...

(1) Your initial post shows you using Mac OS X (10.6.6),
but your latest post shows Mac OS X (10.6.5).
Have you "downdated" to 10.6.5?
(2) iSight works with iMovie, Photo Booth, QuickTime, and other apps like Address Book,
etc. You need not try every possible app, but please tell us which you have tested,
and which, if any, work with your iSight.
(3) Have you tested iSight operation in more than one user account?
Are the symptoms EXACTLY the same in any user account you test?
(4) If your only problem is with ALL apps in ALL user accounts, try applying the
Combo Update using the method suggested in this recent post:

Touch ID not working with Apple Pay.

I have an iPhone 6. The Touch ID works great to open the phone, log in to App Store. All my fingers work with it. But when I use it at a retailer that takes Apple Pay, it won't accept my fingerprint. I try every finger and eventually it prompts me to use my passcode to make the purchase.
What is wrong with it?

It's possible the sensor is smudged since you are using multiple fingers.

Why does my mic only work with some apps?

My mic suddenly stopped working in some apps. I can use it just fine with FaceTime and Skype. It does not work when I use my Phone, Siri, Safari, and Voice Memos. I did a full restore and have the latest version of iOS.

Airplay only works with Photos App after upgrade to latest ios 6.1.3

I have upgraded both my iphone4s and ipad2 to ios 6.1.3 and now I dont see the Airplay icon on the Youtube App, Jasmine App, McTube App, Safari etc.
The only place I see the Airplay icon is when browsing photos and videos using the native ios photos app.
I have tried rebooting my iDevices, restarted my xbmc server, but to no affect. Why does it only show up in the native photos App??

IMessage only works with Apple ID...?

My iMessage says it's waiting for activation and will only let me use my Apple ID for sending or receiving iMessage. If I try to turn off my email and have iMessage sent and received from my phone number, the phone won't allow me to do so. It says the email cannot be deleted or turned off, and I'll get a popup message saying "iMessage Activation: An error occurred during activation. Try again." Is anyone else having this problem? Is this a common problem that we can expect to be fixed in the supposed iOS 7.0.3 upgrade?

Does Airplay mirroring only work with Apple TV, or can I use it with my mac mini?

I already have a Mac Mini (2011 model) hooked up to my TV via HDMI, an AppleTV 2 seem redundant except for the fact it support Airplay Mirroring....is there anyway to use the Mac Mini to mirror my iPad 2?

This would be a great enhancement. I also have a mac Mini hooked up , as i guess do many people, seems wrong to have to spend another £100 to achieve a WiFi solution.
This functionalty really would make the Mac Mini with iPad a perfect media center solution.
Ane we could control watching BBC iPlayer from the sofa.

[solved] KDE4 AltF2 no "Run Command" option, only works with menu apps

Well, in Kubuntu, when I pressed Alt F2, and typed 'kdesudo nvidia-settings' (for example), which wasn't in the menu, there was an option to simply run the command (like with GNome, KDE3, and pretty much everything else), but on here, it doesn't show up. I'd really like to know how to add it. I'm using KDEmod BTW. EDIT: Hmm I logged off and on and it suddenly showed up, yay

The linker is compiling your binary to the default location of 0x8000000. This is fine for Linux to load as an application (even with less than 128MB memory, Linux can use the MMU on the CPU to map anything to 0x8000000). However with ring0 code you are dealing with real physical memory locations. You would need either a linker script (which you can look up, also see: http://wiki.osdev.org/Linker_Scripts) or to specify the options on the command line with
ld -Ttext 0x100000 etc.
0x100000 is at 1MB, so that leaves BIOS memory unaffected. For memory management past that you should read a memory map, which is beyond the scope of this.

iPod touch is Wi-Fi only, yes. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by games from home Mac, but you can purchase game apps in iTunes and sync them to your iPod.

Any iPod Touch device that can be upgraded to iOS 5 will have iMessage. This means if you have a 3rd or 4th generation iPod Touch it will support iMessage.

When did you buy it?
Apple did not begin selling an unlocked version of the iPhone 4S in the US until 11/11/11. I believe it went on sale only through the online store at that time. I'm not sure if it's available at retail yet.
What you purchased was a phone without a contract commitment. It is still locked to AT&T. AT&T will NOT unlock iPhones for any reason. Return it and get your money back, then use that to purchase an unlocked phone.

Ipod Classic 160 6th g. doesn't sync w/Imac g5 non intel OS 10.4.11. This is a replacement for same ipod which was stolen recently. That pod worked fine with Itunes 9! Now this pod says it only works with Itunes 10.7. ***!!!! Why has Apple screwed up?

My ipod classic 160 6th gen. was recently stolen. It had 3000 tunes on it and it synced perfectly with Itunes 9 on my Imac G5 non intel OS 10.4.11. So I recently bought same model and guess what, it doesn't sync at all. Now message says it only works with Itunes 10.7 and up. I certainly cant afford to buy a new intel based Mac and I really dont need a new pc. It feels like Apple has dropped the ball on its long time users and tough luck to you and all the $$$$$$$ spent on downloading songs and buying ipods over the years! I AM SO ANGRY THAT I CANNOT BRING MY MUSIC WITH ME ANYMORE. I dont know if there is any solution to this except being extorted to upgrade to new tech! I have been trying to get answers to this issue but nothing seems to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not a tech genius so extremely techy solutions will be in vane.

one more detail, after a restore, when I attempt to reload music to the ipod, if I try and move, say, 20 files, the transfer seems to work as it should but then stalls on the last file. Eventually, the status will change to "Updates Files on (my ipod)" a and suggests the iPod is syncing even though I have the auto sync feature turned off.
This process eventually works itself out, and seems to take longer relative to the number of files I attempt to transfer. Once done, howver, if I try and eject and dismount the iPod, iTunes stalls with the spinning pinwheel and I am warned that the iPod is syncing again with the spinning candy cane status bar. Eventually thisd works itself out and the iPod dismounts from iTunes and the desktop and eventually the iPod is free to disconnect.
Then if I try and play the music I just transfered, the iPod says there is no music loaded.
Ideas?

RESPONSES:
1)   When I set up my iMac, I did not transfer any data directly from my windows PC. I simply used the same iTunes login and account. I have access to all of the files via the "Purchased" section of the iTunes store. If I click "Download Previous Purchases" text, I can download ALL of the purchases I have ever made.
2)   I have the Apple TV 2, so good news, question answered. I thought maybe it was the Apple TV 1, but it is the Black model, so bam. Good response for you. Well the whole damned reply is an awesome response, just pointing out that one piece of awesome. I stated that it was an Apple TV 2, and yet you were still good enough to figure I could be mistaken, and provide me with knowleedge just incase.
QUESTIONS:
3)   So can my iMac not stream the data directly from itunes, without download? Apple TV can, but perhaps that is something among many things that maker it unique, and awesome.

I work in the computer support section for the Military. The only problem is we use Windows , lol. Well that and i've been gone for nearly 6 months on recover. I go back next month though I hope. But working in that field gives me the abilty to judge responses that run inside the same vein. Your response was so awesome that I half thought I might have written it myself.
