Co-product actual settlement problem

Hi Gurus,
I have a co-product problem. We have ML active.
We are going to use production orders in PP side but REM scenario in CO side. Under this condition is co-product usage effected?
Another problem is this, we have not a certain ratio between primary product and co-product. In the apportionment structure a ratio can be defined. With the creation of the production order, these ratios are going to be transferred from the material master to settlement rule.
During the production process, as I said before, the ratio is not realized, there are variances from the ratio. At the end of the period when we want to settle the order, the ratio is stable in the settlement rule. In other words, it is not actual, just planned ratios.
My question is this: Is it possible to change settlement rule during settlement in the base of realized production (101 movement type) quantities? How can we provide this, otherwise the result is not true in terms of actual costing .
Ahmet

Hi
I thnk you can specify a % in your settlement rule along with Source Structure

  • Actual Settlement Orders problem

    Dear SAP GURU
when we run the actual settlement orders transaction (KO8G) for some internl order the system doesn't respect the settlement rule, the GL account is different, I mean, the right settlement should be:
    CR GL Account 600019
DB GL Account Asset Under Costruction
for some internal order the system doesn't respect this rule and the posting is:
    CR GL Account 600010
DB GL Account Asset Under Costruction
    first GL account is different.
Some advise in order to understand what happen, because apparently the io master data are correct, even the settlement rule.
    Maybe some can help me!
    Thanks a lot

    dear Dave
thanks for your advise, we can not change the current filed customizing.
I am not able to understand why , even if in the Maintain Allocation Structures we have defined a specific Settlement Cost Elements (for exp 600019) during the actual settlement (TCODE KO8G) for some order the system doesn't respect the allocation structure definition.
    some one can help me?

  • Process orders in joint production: variance settlement to CO-PA

    Dear all,
During integration test for costing based CO-PA, I have a problem regarding production variance settlement to CO-PA. I am testing CO-PA actual flows for november 2011. When I try to settle process orders with co-products for previous month, the system asks for PA transfer structure. Because of customizing setting for settlement profile being transfered later, previously created process order need to have this info, and i assigned PA structure manually in settlement rule for each process order. When I repeat variance settlement, only for process orders with co-product, the system still asks for this information, although I already had assigned PA structure to this order.
    please give some advice.
    Thanks Dusko

    Hi
You may have 2 settlement rules for CO Products... So ensure you enter PA Trf Str at all the places... This error is never thrown by SAP w/o valid reason

  • Error while doing production order settlement

    Hi frds,
When I am doing the production order settlement, I am getting the following error
" There are no accrued amounts; settlement is not possible".
The status of the order is TECO CNF DLV PRC BASC BCRQ GMPS MANC.
    Rajnish

    Rajnish,
Please check if there is cost balance for the order, to me it looks like the order is already settled. In the order display mode (CO03) menu bar Goto->Costs->Balance.
If balance exists then the problem may be related to the settlement period used in the Intial screen of transaction KO88. Please check the cost incured period and use the same period as settlement period.

  • Production order settlement (Accounting entries)

    Dear Sapians,
I need your advice to clear my following confusion:
I have a finished material which is maintained on Variable price in material master. Assume the price being 100 and only 1 item is in stock currently.
My production department produces 1 qty of the same material now and the total cost of that comes to 500.
Now when the finished goods GR is done to store. The material price booked is picked from the current material master price (i.e) 100. The system posts the following entry
    FG Stock A/c Dr 100
To Cost of good sold 100.
Now the production department is doing the settlement of the above production order. After settlement my material master price changes from 100 to 300 (i.e) 2*300=600. (I find no accounting entry generated during settlement) What actually happens during settlement?
When the goods is delivered(PGI) for sale to the customer. (eg) we sell one unit
The system passes the following entry:
Cost of goods sold A/c Dr      300
      To FG Stock A/c                    300
I this above case i feel that my finished goods stock will go negative.
    Is the above activity correct?.
I will be greatful if you can explain me the above process completely.
    Regards
    Naveen

    Dear Deepak
Thanks for all your help. I have assigned the maximum point which i can for your support.
Actually the accounting entries i was looking for is as follows:
When 101 is done after production (i.e) GR after production
    FG STock A/c
    To Factory output A/c
The above entry is posted @ price maintained in the material master.
When the actual settlement of Production order is done using tcode KO88 the system posts the variance between the material master price and the actual price and posts
    FG Stock A/c DR
    To Factory output A/c
(in case of actual cost is more than the material master price)
    OR
    Factory output A/c
    To FG Stock
(In case of actual cost is less than the material master price)
Please correct me if i am wrong
Once again thanks for you time

    Dear Sadasivan,
Will you explain in details, we have gone through the suggested path, where there is only two defaul rules
PP1 - Production Full Mat. Settlement
    PP2- Production Periodic Settlement
Actually we want to settle the production order variance as a financial variance through cost center, we don't want to settle this variance to the materail. Currently while doing the settlement, system posting the journal entry as
    Inventory Account   Dr.
      To COGM               Cr.
We want the accounting entry as
    Price Variance       Dr.

  • Refurbishment order- Actual settlement

    Dear Experts,
When i am trying to do actual settlement using the transaction code KO88 for the refurbishment order for which even after the techical completion and the IW8W (Goods receipt) done, system is throwing the following error:
Final delivery not entered for the order. It is not technically completed
    Message no. KD258
    Diagnosis
If you want to settle a production order to a material, you must first either enter the final delivery for it, or close (complete) it technically because settlement leads to an update of the moving average price for the material.  The total delivery quantity is required for this.   If the order is one which cannot be delivered because, for example, it produces 100% scrap, you can close it technically instead. Settlement is than to the price difference account.
By the settlement period, no final delivery had been entered for this order, nor had it been technically closed (completed).  This means that you cannot settle it.
    Procedure
Before settling, either set the order to "Technically completed" or enter the final delivery.
    Please help me out...

    Suresh.

  • Production order settlement variance button

    Hi,
I check the settlement of production order and would like to clarify.
In the settlement rule, the account assignment category is MAT, when double click the rule or click settlement variance button, it shows category PSG.
why there are 2 settlement? for settlement to asset, there is only 1 and no settlement variance button.
so why production order settlement has 2 settlement?
    Thanks

    Hi,
On settlement of Production order, two documents gets created one is Accounting document for posting the variances to Accounts and the Profitability analysis documents.
This is because, when COPA is activated, the Sold quantity in copa is valuated using the Standard cost estimate.
For eg: if the SCE of X material is 100 Rs. and Billed quantity is 10 Qty, this billed quantity is valuated using the 100 rs and 1000 Rs is transferred to COPA as COGM.
But when production is carried out, the actual cost can be different from that of SCE. I,e it can be 120 Rs.
Hence there is a difference of 20 Rs with which inventory is being valuated less in both Accounts and also in COPA. Hence the same is settled to the respective module on the settlement of Production order so that you have FI and COPA gets reconciled to that extent.
But Asset settlement we are valuating it with full amount of acquisition. and there is no standard set for the same. Hence the result.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ravi Kumar

  • Production order settlement posting

    Hi all,
For our production order settlement now, it is posting to:
Debit u2013  Production Order settlement (OBYC --> GBB --> AUA )
    Credit u2013 inventory
For the credit posting though, in OBYC --> PRD --> PRF it is set to hit the 'cost of goods sold' account instead of the 'inventory' account. What can be causing it to hit inventory?

    Dear,
In production order, there are 3 elements. 1 Material consumption 2 inventory change and 3 is confirmation on which planned cost and actual cost is determined.
Material consumption and inventory change is directly relevant to stock of materials but confirmation is only relevant to activities e.g. labor, machine, FOH and setup.
Settlement is difference of plan and actual cost on production order. This difference can be due to either first 2 elements or 3rd element i.e. activity. That's why it can not be "inventory' account".
    Thanks

  • RA Category for Sales Order Actual Settlement

    Hi,
During production order settlement for WIP we run in every month end. Generally in tcode OKG8 (Posting Rule in WIP calculation and Result Analysis) we use RA category WIPR(Work In Process with Requirement to Capitalize) which is used production order settlement for WIP. We have done production order settlement and successfully value posted to WIP settlement gl account because in OKG8 WIPR is maintained against P&L and B&S account.  After that we have done Result Analysis for Sales Order through KKA3. Value has posted to various objects under Result /analysis. Now we need to run  Actual Settlement for Sales Order. In case of Sales Order Costing what should be its RA catergory for Actual Settlment : Sales Order settlment which is run through VA88.
    Best Regards,
    Samrat Roy

    Dear Waman,
In OKG8 posting rule WIP calculation against RA category is maintained as WIPR with P&L and BS gl account. Uner Result Analysis valuation method against RA Key for Sales Order is maintained as PREL, REL, DLV, FNBL and TECO. Production order settlement has done and value has posted to WIP gl account and  Quantiy has issued for delivery and billing. After the Sale billing I have done KKA3 which is Result Analysis for Sales Order. Value has posted to Sales order wip, Actual Revenue, Actual Cost, Cost of Sale, Revenu affecting net income, Planned revenue, planned cost, Planned profit and loss value shows. After that I have run VA88 and sales order wip value has posted to wip gl accounts which is set in OKG8 both P&L and BS gl account which same gl is used for production order settlment also and I created Sales Order settlement rule which is receiver in GL accounts. That GL is external settlement GL account. That external settlment receiver gl is same as sales order settlment profile's allocation structure GL. So during final sales order settlment same gl is debited and credited of calculated profit.
But I have some doubts which I requires as per business. I need Revenue Surplus(POCS), Reserve Unrealized Cost(RUCR), Revenue in Excess Billing(POCI) and variance from Result Analysis(VARR). I wanted to set this RA category in OKG8 but system does not allow me which says alrady WIPR is maintaied and value posted to result analysis. So I need to deactivate first then new RA key can be introduced..
Also I would ask you after production order settlement for wip, shall I run wip for Sales order and Sales Order settlement. or I need to to pas customer delivery and final billing. After billing I need to run WIP on sales order and sales order settlement. Basically I will run two times WIP which are production order and sales order. Our business sceanrio consists of one sales order with 29 prouction and its corresponding 29 wip which will be finally settled to Sales order external settlment gl account.

  • Production order settlement, on a batch job

    Dear All,
I need to use the KO8G, for running production order settlement, on a batch job.
I found a SAP Note Number 498387 where is said that, for the selection of statuses of orders of the order category 10 or greater, will be used a status selection profile.
Iu2019m using the status selection profile SAPPI07 on KO8G selection variant for orders.
When I execute KO8G report, system gives me these messages:

Like I was written in my first message the Standard variant SAP&01, which contains values of Order type, Status of order...Created,Closed, Tech Complete, Released doesn´t work for production orders, like is said on SAP Note Number 498387.
So I need use the status selection profile on variant selection.
My problem is that, I've defined a Variant selection with status selection profile SAPPI07,wich has the status Created,Closed, Tech Complete, Released, but When I execute KO8G report, system gives me these messages:

  • After production order settlement, where does the cost go?

    Dear Experts,
I understand after we did the "order settlement" for production order, the cost will be settled to material manufactured from the said production order.  Say, the total cost is $10,000 to produce 1000 units of finished goods (FG), then the cost settled to each individual FG at $10 each, am I right?  Where can I see the settled cost in the material master?..
I checked in the cost center report, S_ALR_87013611, I can see the cost Credited from "production" cost center with a breakdown in settlement cost element such as machine hour, setup and personnel hour.  I understand the other side of Debit was to the production order, and only after order settlement, I'm not sure which cost center will be Debited.
That would be the CO side, how about the FI, would there be any cost posted to the GL side after production order settlement to the material?
    Please advise..
    regards,
    Abraham

    Hi Abraham,
It's not the button i mentioned. I was just trying to take u to the accounting document from the settlement screen. well just drill down the settlement screen and u'll get it. No big deal.
But more important is the concept. I'll share my understanding here. (cost by production order)
Any value that flow into controlling module should have a cost object. Here production order is the cost object.
First u create a production order (cost object) for say 1 unit of X with a std price of Rs. 10
Std price comes frm material master as a result of std cost estimate
    U start production - Raw materials are consumed - 2 qty x Rs.3.
Entry RM Consumption Dr Rs. 6    Inventory Cr Rs.6 (Prod order is debited with Rs.6)
Activity (Let's say machine hours - 3 Hrs x Rs.2) According to the routing it was  2 hrs but actual production took 3 hrs.
Entry - None - But production order is debited with Rs. 6.
When production is complete for 1 qty of X, entry flows
Finished Goods Dr Rs.10    Change in Stock  Cr. Rs.10  (Production order is credited with Rs.100
Abraham, now visualise both sides of the production order. It will have debit of Rs.12 and credit of Rs.10.
Now accountant sees the production order and confirms the values are ok and puts the status of TECO to the order. which means the order is technically complete.
Now when u run the order settlement, this production order is picked up by the system (due to it's status). System sees difference between debit and credit of Rs 2.
So it cedits the production order with Rs. 2. Now both debit and credit of production order is equal (Rs.12)
Entry Price diff A/c Rs,2     Change is stock A/c Rs.2
Now this rs. 2 is settled to COPA. It does not flow to material.
Reason:  in a std costing system materials are valued at standard cost and
Hope this helps. Do revert in case of doubts.
    Best Regards
    Vimal
