Multiple connection in Database ver 9i

I am trying to connect multiple session to database 9i through form builder.
if more than one session exist then procedure recompilation is hanging in other session. At a time only one session is working through form builder.

Thanks for reply.
It is only happening with oracle database 9i .recently I have switched over one of my developement environment to database 9i from 8i.
With same configuration there was no problem in 8i .
I have checked v$session_wait and v$lock there is no problem.
again I have checked tablespace for space it is OK.
undo_management is in Auto.
Please let me know any clue.

    Hi all,
We use software which connects to database and runs business process. Today I’ve noticed that user cant connect to database via this software from several hosts. I got error code ORA-20000. I think user has some limitation(in profile) to run software from several hosts(IP addresses) at the one time. Can i change this parameter?

So the error is raised by the application, not the rdbms. Was there any text associated with the message giving any indication what it was for? Do you have access to the PL/SQL that raised the error to see what kind of event could trigger it?
You think the user has a limitation in their profile, and you want to know if you can change it. Have you looked at a profile to see if there are any properties that support your thesis?

  • How to create a DAD that allows multiple connection to database

many users can access through the same dad

In OAS4.0.8, open the Database Access Descriptor Form, and uncheck the option, "Store database username and password in the DAD".
This prompts the user to enter a username and pwd when accessing the database. Even if you specify one set of values while creating the DAD, you can specify any other valid username and password from the browser.
However, it would be interesting to figure how to do the same thing in versions > 4 where do not have an OAS manager interface.
If you figure how to set it in the conf files, fdo let me know as well.

  • Query about multiple connection pools under one database

    Hi,
I have s query about connection pool, now we have a requirement,
we have two schemas in one db, some data store in one schema, some in another schema,
all tables are the same, but data is different, we want to retrive all data under two schemas,
so we need two connection pools under one database,
I have set two system DSN, and each connection pool was mapping to one DSN,
but after I importing tables into RPD, when I view data, there is a dialog let me select connection pool. so If this, when we drag columns in answer, it will definitely get wrong.
so how to realize this function about multiple connection pools under one database and we can get data normally.

    Hi,
    Try this step
1)Better to create two different DSN for the same database with different user id and password
2)now create multiple connection pool in the same database in u r RPD physical layer .

  • Question on InfoView  Multiple Connections opening on SQL Database

Hi, we are using Business Objects XI Release 2 and I am having an ODBC issue to a SQL 2005 database.  I have a Crystal XI report that contains 2 parameters and selects roughly 100,000 rows of data and summarizes the data to 1 page.  In Crystal Developer it runs fine in several seconds.  Within Infoview it runs fine if I do a schedule now and select the parameters.  The Issue is if I click on the published report, update the parameters, it then starts to run and run.  Looking at the database it opens roughly 32 connections and just keeps opening and closing connections.  Since I am invoking infoview through a url it is running on the same server that I can schedule on.  I am not sure where or what the problem is, why so many connections open and the report never finishes.  Also the connections are bogging down the SQL Database due to high CPU utilization.  Any help/insight/explanations would be appreciated.
    Thank You

Thanks for the response, see my responses in Italics,
If you try to run the report with multiple connections are you facing this problem, or else is it for all reports.
I am not trying to run for multiple connections intentionally?  Is there a setting in the report itself or on the console that could be doing this?
Have tried to run the report other than the same machine where you have sever installed.
I have run the report from 2 different viewers which reside on different machines, both separate from the
database.  If I run from Crystal Developer on a desktop it is fine.  Also if I schedule in the viewer it is fine.  It seems like when I run on demand (not sure if my terminology is correct).
Also try with remote connection to logon to your server and try to run the report and observe if there is any specific error.
I am executing a url that is on the server where Business Objects is installed.

    Naveen.

  • Taking too much time (1min) to connect to database

    Hi,
I have oracle 10.2 and 10g application server.
Its taking too much time to connect to database through application (on browser). The connection through sqlplus is fine.
    Please share your experience.
    Regards,
    Naseer

    Dear AnaTech,
i am going to ask not related this question which already you answered i am going to ask you about that how to connect forms6i and Developer 10g with OracleAS.
i have installed and working Developer Suite 10g Ver. 10.1.2 and also Form Builder 6i. On my other machine i installed and working Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 and also on the database machine i installed Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Application Server Control 10.1.2.0.2.
my database conectivity with Developer suite Forms and Reports and also Form6i and Reports6i are working fine. no problem.
now the 1 question of mine is that when i try to run form6i through run from web i got this error. FRM-99999: error 18121 occured see the release not.
this and the main question of mine is this that how can i control my OracleAS 10g with forms because basically the functionality of OracleAS is Mid-Tier but i am not utilizing the Mid-tier i am using here Two-tier Envrionment even i installed 3-Tier Environment so tell me how i utilize it with 3-Tier..
I hope you don't mind that i ask this question here and also if you give me you email then we can discuss this in detail and i can be helpful of your great expertise. i also know and utilize my 3-tier real envrionment.
    Waiting for your great response.

  • Shall I use one datasource for multiple connection pool?

    Hi,

    Thanks with regards

No. If its transactions across multiple databases you should use different datasources.

  • Error while connecting MYSQL Database

    Hi,
I use a 30 days trial of Crystal Reports 2008. When i try to connect with the database i always get the next error: [http://www.visiscan.nl/error.jpg]
The database is 4.1GB large and there is 10GB free space on the database.
Anybody can tell me what to do?

    Hi Tom,
As I understand the error while connecting to database is
u201CFailed to retrieve data from databaseu201D
There could be some could be multiple reasons for this.
If you are using an ODBC connection then try to check the DSN. Recreate the same and then try.
If the database is oracle check if native client is installed and try to ping from the native client to check if it responds.
When connecting to Oracle, ensure that the Service name is identical to that used in the <ORA_HOME>/network/admin/tnsnames.ora file on the BusinessObjects XI Release 2 server.
For ODBC databases, ensure that the ODBC DSN is exactly the same in the ODBC Manager as on the BusinessObjects XI Release 2 server.
Please let us know if this helps

Configure remote DB in TNS first.
    Create DB link.
CREATE {PUBLIC} DATABASE LINK "DBLINKNAME"  CONNECT TO "remoteuser" IDENTIFIED BY "remotepwd" USING 'REMOTEDBTNSALIAS';Query remote tables using

  • Multiple connections in one project

    Hi,
Is there perhaps some kind of a document describing a 'best practice' for using multiple connections in a ADF BC application. One connects to an oracle DB another to a SQLServer.
I suppose I need to create two different services? Anybody having experience with this?
    Regards,
    Koen Verhulst

Among other things, the BC4J Configuration defines the name of the JDBC connection to use. To solve your problem, you can create two Configurations one for each database. The JDBC connection value will be the only different element between these two Configurations. To create a BC4J Configuration in JDeveloper, right click on the AppModule node and then click Configurations...,
Use oracle.jbo.client.Configuration class to create AppModules connected to the database you want.,
    import oracle.jbo.*;
    import oracle.jbo.client.Configuration;
    String am = "demo.DemoModule"; // Fully-qualified application module name
// Configuration name with JDBC connection to source database
    String cf1 = "DemoModuleSourceDb";
    ApplicationModule amSrc = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(am,cf1);
// Configuration name with JDBC connection to dest database
    String cf2 = "DemoModuleDestDb";
    ApplicationModule amDest = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(am,cf2);
Note that the AM name can also be different if you want.
    Hope this helps,
    Sathish.
I want to access several Databases from one BC4J-Project.
For example I want to write an application, which collects data from one database, does some computation and stores the results in a second database.
I would prefer to use BC4J-Components for both, the source and the target database, but unfortunately I can select only one connection per BC4J-Project.
Has anyone got an idea, how I can access more than one database-connection from one BC4J-Project without having to write all the JDBC-Stuff on my own? JDev-Team, can you please give a hint?

  • How to use datasources to connect to database ?

    I have the following Problem
I have two identical databases, one is the development database, the other one the production database.
Now I need to find a way, how I can deploy an bc4j-application in local mode that way, that if the application is deployed to server 1 it connects to database 1 and if deployed to server 2 it connects to database 2.
JDBC connection strings do not work as the connection is deployed with the application. So the application always connects to the same database.
I thought datasources might be the solution. So I tried to define a datasource MyDS in the data-sources.xml file and specified it in the Configuration Wizard as the connection to use.
But unfortunately this does not work and i do not know why:
If I try to connect using the tester and using this datasource I get the following exception:
    Level #3: javax.naming.noInitialContextException
Can anyone help me, what this means? How can I get around this using the BC4J Framework? Is there any "HowTo" Document which describes using datasources with BC4J?

    Frank,
I've sorted this stuff out to some extent. Have a look at this thread:
re:? How: multiple myAppWar.ear to use OC4J's data-sources.xml pooling?
If this isn't all you need, then search on data-source.xml
and read other threads also I may have posted helps on
other threads so if you search on data-source.xml and my handle (curt504) it brings up all the threads that I posted to.
Not to say I've solved all your problems, but I solved mine anyway. :)
    Good luck,
    curt

  • Generate query  at a time &  connect  two database ?

    Hi
Could u help me? it is necessary  that
I have  two database ( RSHPL,RSPL)  and both data base have  same table name and same fieldname (Table Name :-OITM, Fieldname :ONHAND ,pk- ITEMcode,)
At first I tell u what I want?
I want to generate query  at a time &  connect  two database and same table name(OITM)  to select the TOTAL VALUE of this  field(ONHAND) and pk-key is Itemcode.
Is it Possible? If  Possible  plz  write this query and send me.

    Hi,
I don't think its possible to write a query from within SAP that allows you to get data from another SAP database.
I have used SQL Reporting Services to report on data from multiple databases, and this works very well for many of my clients.  It depends on what you want to do with the data, do you need to display it on the screen in SAP and it to a field or will a report suffice?
    Regards,
    Adrian

  • Multiple connection pools in the same DB physical source

Hi, I have this situation in BI Admin:
A single DB with 2 physical schema and 2 Connection Pools with OCI 10/11g.
Clicking on any table I can see the data after selecting the right connection pool for that table.
I created a Business Model based upon tables from one of the 2 physical schemas and a corresponding presentation layer. It is consistent and I can view the related subject area in Answers, but when I select a Dimension column (CONVERGENZA_NEGOZIO.STATO) and the fact measure ( Convergenza_Fact.INCASSO ) in viewing results I get this error:
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).
    Error Details
    Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 17001] Oracle Error code: 942, message: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist at OCI call OCIStmtExecute. [nQSError: 17010] SQL statement preparation failed. (HY000)
    SQL Issued: SELECT CONVERGENZA_NEGOZIO.STATO saw_0, Convergenza_Fact.INCASSO saw_1 FROM Convergenza ORDER BY saw_0
Is it caused by the multiple connection pools under the same DB?

Yes I think that's correct, but only if you're going to use the same user to connect to them.
If you have a single user you're using to connect to a database to read data which happens to be over more than one schema, you'd use one connection pool.
However if you have entirely separate schemas (eg. different applications) and need to use a different user for each then you would use one connection pool per schema. Also if you thought you might move one of the schemas to another physical database at some point in the future it might be prudent to use a separate connection pool from the outset.
If you're still getting the error that the table cannot be found and your users have full permissions then logically the table that's being looked for does not exist, or you have not qualified it. What I mean by that is if you are connecting as USER2 and SELECT * FROM TABLE_A then the database will assume that you mean USER2.TABLE_A. If you mean USER1.TABLE_A then you need to make sure the qualification is in there.
In the admin tool check your Physical layer is set up correctly with your Physical Tables residing in the correct Physical Schemas.
