Multiple DataControls - oracle.bali.xml.model.XmlInvalidOnCommitException

I have an ADF BC/Faces application with 2 model projects, each having their own app module so I can connect to 2 different schemas for different pages. I am seeing multiple data controls appear in the DC palette - why? In DataBindings.cpx there are only 2 data controls.
For example, I just added a new view to one AM. It appeared in the DC palette under a new DataControl (AppModuleDataControl3) instead of in the existing DataControl for that AM. When I dragged from the view to the page, I got "could not complete findOrCreateDataControlInApplication because it would result in an invalid document." The full error is below.
The only unusual thing I can think of is that I am using AM configurations with JDBC DataSource for the connection type. My Jdev version is 10.1.3.3.

This issue was caused by an import of a reusable library of business components which contained app modules. In the application where I maintain the BC library, I created app modules so I could verify the model before using it in other applications.
From looking at the .jpx files for my models it appears that these app modules
were imported as part of the library. So I removed the app modules and corrected my .jpx files.
I'd suggest a note be added to the section about reusable BC libraries to make sure that any test app modules are excluded when jar files are generated.

    Hi Dani,
Eventually I found the problem, it is reported in Oracle Support as Doc ID 1503173.1.
It seems jDeveloper is a bit special when adding Directories to the MAR file. If the whole directory "/oracle" is added, the adf-config.xml introduces the following line:
    namespace metadata-store-usage="WebCenterFileMetadataStore" path="/oracle"/
As a result, this diverts all /oracle/... file and class requests to MDS, which causes failures.
So when editing the MAR deployment profile be careful to select the sub-directories under /oracle/webcenter/portalapp/ one by one.
Added to this, I had to perform the cleaning process you suggested to make it work too, otherwise I get a different error...
    Final steps are:
    1. Undeploy application.
    2. Delete MDS partition.
    3. Shutdown managed server.
    4. Delete /cache and /tmp content for the managed server.
    5. Start managed server.
    6. Exectute Clean all in jDeveloper.
    7. Create a new mar deployment as described in SR 1503173.1.
    8. Deploy to EAR file.
    9. Deploy new application to managed server using Enterprise Manager.
    And it works!
    Thanks for your help!

  • Call Multiple RTF for same data model

How call two templates for the same data model.
what is the logic i have to use in the rtf template.
    Thanks in Advance

Your RTF template will use the data model you defined.
So no logic than just inserting the xml elements your data model provides.
You can associate multiple templates to one data model. At runtime you will have the opportunity to select
the template of your desire to run the data against.
If you want this process to be automated then you will have to user bursting and for that you need to read this:

  • ODI : create an XML model with UBL  technology instead of XSD file

    Hello,
I have several xsd files which contain UBL (Universal Business Language) and all these files are linked between them. In Oracle Data Integrator, I would like generate a XML model from these files as I use to do with the standard xsd files. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with the driver I use usually.
Do you know if you can generate an xml model from xsd files which contain UBL and if yes, could you say me all the steps I must do to that successfully please?
    Thank you in advance.
    Olivier

    Hello All,
    What I mean is :
when an xsd file calls an other xsd files by using the namespaces (when 2 xsd files are linked), is there a way to create an xml model matching with the contain of these 2 xsd files?
Can someone say me if the only solution to generate a xml model is to have only one xsd file?
    Thank you in advance

  • Trying to deploy a provider in Tomcat  - Missing: oracle/bali/share...

I managed to get past some other missing JAR's, but since Oracle doesn't have any good documentation for deploying a portlet /provider in anything but OC4J, i'm stuck.
Anyone know where I can find:
    oracle/bali/share/util/UnhandledException?
There is just wayyy too many files / folders in a 9iAS install .. and there is no docs on what goes where. (Thanks guys)..
    Please help!
Even better would be a document that details the procedure of creating a provider in ANY j2ee container. (Not just OC4J)..
    Thanks,
    -Sean

Very elegant response. I do appreciate the information. It is kinda amusing to think OC4J is the only "certified" app server. One of the touted benefits of portal is that it is "100% Pure J2EE Compliant..." :0) *(insert good laugh)* Seems like Oracle would be inclined to make this information more obvious (about the provider requirements), since there are soooo many app servers out there that could host portlets. I can't see how providing 'alternative, unsupported configuration docs' could hurt.
Either way, it's no skin off my back, just a little wasted time. I will check out this 'pdksoftware.zip' and see what it gives me. I have a feeling it's the same JAR's I managed to wrangle off the PDK and server, but it's nice to know for recreating a dev environment. (And the demo I'm doing tomorrow)
Honestly, my Netbeans / Tomcat portlet development environment is very splendid! I must say, that making a change in my 'Renderer' class and having the changes appear immediately in our development portal is a very VERY good thing. (we're talkin 5 second turnaround here) The only change that requires any kind of 'reloading' is when I change my provider.xml. Just need to 'reload' the provider, and all is good again.
A year ago, there was a serious bug in JDev / OC4J in which the auto class reload feature simply did not work. I had this confirmed with a TAR. Hence the abandonment of JDev. Needless to say, I've been a very open-standards kinda person. May as well mention, JDev was too slow and painful to use for the kind of development I like. Maybe it's better now. Who knows.
As my team and I slowly shuffle the moving parts of Portal, you will surely see more of my posts. Thanks again for the help!
    Cheers!

    Hi,
Did anyone came across this issue!! I am triggering the config engine from back and and trying to pick up a model but it has multiple devl_project_id's. :(
I could see multiple DEVL_PROJECT_ID for the same model in CZ_DEVL_PROJECTS Table. Apart from DEVL_PROJECT_ID and created_by_date every thing looks the same.
Below are the 2 records the data from the table

    Thanks in advance,

It can be possible to have multiple devl_project_id for the same model in cz_devl_projects Table.
Case -1 : When you delete the existing model and re-import again.
    case 2:
When you publish the model locally, it will create the same copy of the record with different devl_project_id, creation_date, last update_date etc..\
You can see that for published records the last_updat_login, checkout_user will be null and for the original model, last_update_login,checkout_user (if model is locked) will not be null.

  • Forms pulling Multiple Records from an XML Schema and XML data files - Adobe LiveCycle Designer

I built a form in Adobe LiveCycle with an xml schema and data file.  The problem is with how the form renders the xml data file.
I have a statement element that consists of about 6 fields (statementID, statementName, statementAddress, statementCountry, statementZip, statementDate, etc) of data in the schema that allows for multiple iterations - so one xml data file can contain multiple statements. These fields allow for null values.
But here's the problem:  When any of the statements - say statement 2 of 6 - has a null value in one of the fields, if the xml data file doesn't have a placeholder
(example of placeholder:  <statementName type="String"/>   )in the xml for that field, my form pulls the field value from the NEXT statement.
This corrupts all the rest of the statement records, as this field is shifted up for all the rest.
I know that in the past I haven't needed a placeholder when a field was null. But I'm wondering if when the data allows for multiple records the xml data file needs to generate the placeholder.  And where is the problem? In the Schema? The xml data file? My form?  And the 64-thousand-dollar question:  How to fix it?

If your <statement> element is the one that repeats, it should be bound to a subform with the binding string of something like $.statement[*]. Then in that subform should be your fields and they should have bindings of $.statementID, $.statementName, $.statementAddress, etc.

I'm using 11g TP4 on Windows Vista Home Premium. This is my first time crying out for help in any forum (after 19 years of development) so I'm really desparate for help. I'm new to JAVA development and JDeveloper; hence a lot of this stuff is greek to me.
I did post in the JDeveloper forum and John Stegeman re-directed me to the "JDeveloper and OC4J 11g Technology Preview" forum.
I was leaning more toward an operating system issue since 11g TP4 works just fine on my Windows XP SP2 desktop. It is just so slow on it (504 MB of RAM) that I decided to run it on my laptop (3062 MB of Ram) where the performance is awesome, but I can't test a damn thing since I can't get the embedded server to work/start. Just hoping others have solved this issue and can pass that knowledge on to others.

  • Oracle's XML Publisher in JDeveloper and XSQL Servlet

A While ago, in this thread JDeveloper 10g, XSQL and FOP , was mentioned an ongoing effort for the "integration of Oracle's XML Publisher in JDeveloper and XSQL Servlet", Is this still happening ?, will this be something will be able to use without having to be an Oracle Apps shop? Any additional info would be appreciated.

    Hi,
is there any progress about XML publisher integration with JDeveloper. I'm right now examining XML publisher but there is no explicit directions and explanations of using XML publisher with jdeveloper.
    any news !?
    best regards...

  • How to tune the performance of Oracle SQL/XML query?

    Hi all,
I am running Oracle 9i and like to run the following Oracle SQL/XML query. It takes about 3+ hour and still not finish. If I get rid all the XML stuffs it only take minutes to run. Does anybody know how to what's the reason of this slow and how to tune it?

    XMLForest(C_CUSTKEY "C_CUSTKEY", C_NAME "C_NAME", C_ADDRESS "C_ADDRESS", C_PHONE "C_PHONE", C_MKTSEGMENT "C_MKTSEGMENT", C_COMMENT "C_COMMENT"),

    Why not something more like

    AND l.transactiontypeid = 1
    AND d.transactiontypeid = 2;
