Multiple Detail Page

Dear Forum
I hope someone may be able to help me with something, what
i'm trying to develop is a small publications application using
PHP/MySQL, I have created the Insert Record successfully, and am
now trying to set up a system whereby users can amend a record if
necessary. I have a search form which displays a limited results
page with only a few fields - where I need help is depending on the
type of publication depends which page is opened displaying data on
the form.
So basically if a publication value is A then user is taken
to page1.php, if publication is B then user is taken to page2.php
and so on - I have 5 publication values.. (the reason for this is
the user has different fields to complete depending upon the
publication).
This is all new to me, and am pleased with what I have
achieved so far, just need some support, so any help would be
greatfully received.
I've been trying this morning with IF, elseIf statements but
cannot get anywhere, see code I am trying below.
Many thanks is advance
Gaz

There is no standard for that. You can do that by following this example:

  • Master with multiple details page, is there an example out there?

    Many hints and suggestions can be found on this forum about building a page with a master with multiple details page. But is there a working example somewhere? It looks quite complicated to me.
    Also I would like to know if it is because of my Oracle Forms background that I miss the possibility of building this kind of forms in application express. Are there other ways to setup the pages so that you can do without them?
    thanks Rene

    Let me elaborate on my requirements a bit:
    The form I want to create should look like this:
    Master
    Atrtibute_1
    Attribute_2
    Attribute_3
    Attribute_4
    Details_1 Add Delete
    [] item1 (read-only)
    [] item2 (read only)
    Details_2 Add Delete
    [] item1 (read-only)
    [] item2 (read only)
    So basically it should be possible to maintain several lists of items that belong to the master record. Checkboxes allow the user to select records for deletion. The Add button shows a pop-up window that lets the user select an item to add.

  • Master with multiple details

    (JHeadstart release 10.1.2.) I can make a master with multiple detail pages work (displayed on the same page or different pages), except under one condition. Assume the following situation:
    Master: View object A based on entity A
    Detail 1: View object B based on entity B with a modified WHERE clause
    Detail 2: View object C based on entity B (yes, same entity object as view object B) with a WHERE clause different than the one for view object B
    A one-to-many view link exists between view object A and view object B, and another exists between view object A and view object C. The query for each of the view objects is standard (i.e., no expert-mode queries). The master and the two detail view objects (via their respective view links) are assigned to an application module.
    I created a JHeadstart application structure file for the application module with Struts and UIX. I added view object A as the top group (table-form layout). I next added view object B as a detail group (form layout, same page) beneath view object A. I finally added view object C as a detail group (form layout, same page) beneath view object A (i.e., parallel to view object B). The module generated and built cleanly.
    I ran the application, entered a master record, and saved the data. When I pressed the button to create a new record for detail 1 (view object B), fields appeared for the pages for detail 1 and detail 2 (view object C), not just detail 1. Also, the value of the Descriptor Attribute from the master record that linked it to the two detail pages populated the corresponding field in both of the displayed pages for the detail records.
    This behavior does not occur if view object C (detail 2) is based on an entity different than view object B. Will JHeadstart allow a master to have multiple details where the details are based on the same entity object? Thanks.
    Ray

    Ray,
    Unfortunately I cannot reproduce the problem. I filled in the A, B and C using a scott/tiger schema as follows:
    A: Departments
    B: All employees having a salary < 1000
    C: All employees having a salary >= 1000
    Then I created an application module with one group having two subgroups everything same page, just like you specified. Everything seemed to work fine. Do you have any idea what's different in your situation.

  • Report with multiple Detail Area

    Hi All,
    Please see the Report pointed to the link below:
    [Report with multiple Detail Area|http://us.share.geocities.com/felix5ac/fairway.jpg]
    Some Explanations:
    ========================
    (1) The line with "ABCDEFGH..." is variable data coming from the database in the Detail Area
    (2) The lines with "WBLNX'" "123, 123.12",
                             "WBLNX'"
       are variable data associated with the same Heading: "ABCDEFGH..."
    (2b) There can be multiple lines of data in the detail area (i.e. 1 or more "ABCDEFGH..." and the associated WBLNX and numbers...)
    (3) Item Code Descriptions ==> is a Header Info
    (4) ARL ... and FPHI... ==> are variable data and lines in these area can be 1 line; it can be 4 lines; it can be 10 lines...
    (5) Lines FROM "Artwork Procedures..." to the the end of the page are static.
    QUESTION:
    ===================
    How do I best design these Report with the multiple detail areas? Again, please see link of the Report above...
    Thanks and Best regards,
    Felix

    Hi Felix
    You can place the less detailed fields in the regular sections of the report and wherever you require multiple lines you can use the subreports.
    Hope this helps.

  • ADF BC - One Master and Two Detail pages How To?

    I have an existing ADF BC .jspx master-detail page that works fine. It shows one product as the master (read-only; no navigation controls) and assocatied customer feedback as the detail (multiple records; read-only.) Now I also want to compute some averages from the same table used to create the detail view object. I have created a second view object because this requires a separate query that calculates aggregate values. I want to take advantage of using view links so that this 2nd view object is automatically linked to the master record via the primary key.
    My question is how can I link this into the existing master-detail data control so that I can drag/drop it to include id on the existing .jspx page and the primary key linkages will be handled automatically?
    Tables
    Product
    Feedback
    View Objects
    ProductView
    FeedbackView
    FeedbackAVGView
    Current ViewLink
    ProductFeedbackViewLink = ProductView + FeedbackView
    Current DataControl
    ProductFeedbackViewLink-Instance
    Data Control is displayed on .jspx page; want to also include 3rd View Object, FeedbackAVGView, in the Master-Detail relationship and display on the .jspx page

    Thanks for the reply. The existing customer feedback view object displays the customer's text feedback (testimonials) - these will be displayed in a read-only table with multiple records.
    The new view object aggregates the ratings score from the customer feedback (same FEEDBACK database table) and will use a form to display the results (not multiple rows.) The PK is included in the aggregate view object query.
    Note there is already an existing viewlink between the PK (Master) and FK (Feedback) - in the data control, this viewlink is an instance of the Master View Object and the Customer Feedback View object. Now that I have created a third view object, should I create another View Link between the Master View Object and the Customer Feedback AVERAGES View Object? If I do this, how do I include it in the existing .jspx page? If I add this new View Link to the Application Module I will have two different Data Controls:
    Data Control #1: Master (Product) View Object + Customer Feedback View Object #1 (implemented as a master-detail read-only form/table on a .jspx page)
    Data Control #2: Master (Product) View Object + Customer Feedback AVG View Object #2
    I'm confused as to how to integrate the second customer feedback view object into the existing Data Control / Master-Detail read-only form/table on my .jspx page?
    thanks

  • Question on "Master Detail page using ADF" sample

    I downloaded the "Master Detail page using ADF" sample application. I modified editDepartment.jsp page to include the Commit button as follows:
    <html:submit property="event_Commit">Save and Commit</html:submit>
    When I go to edit a department record and click on the new "Save and Commit" button, I SQLed the DEPARTMENTS table and noticed that the edits were not commited. I also restarted the embedded OC4J server and still get the same results. For some reason, the department view object contains the modification but the entity object doesn't. Why?

    Scott,
    My colleague suggested a workaround, which is to explicitly include the detail table's id in the master table's partialTargets list. So, for example, in MasterDetailDP.uix, changing:
    <table model="${bindings.DepartmentsView1}"
           id="DepartmentsView111"
           partialRenderMode="multiple"
           partialTargets="_uixState">to:
    <table model="${bindings.DepartmentsView1}"
           id="DepartmentsView111"
           partialRenderMode="multiple"
           partialTargets="_uixState EmployeesView312">...will cause the detail table to be updated when sorting the master table.
    There is some question about whether sorting a table should actually cause the currently selected row to change - we're still discussing this point.

    You have other options too like, External Window etc. other than the SHOW_INPLACE.
    The last line of the above coding is used for passing parameter to another iView.
    Give the right path of the iview PCD path, omitting pcd:

  • Add Multiple Detail Items Using the Same Query String Parameter

    I am using InfoPath 2010 and SharePoint 2010.
    I have 2 forms libraries - Expense and Expense Details.
    The 2 libraries are linked via a custom site column Expense ID.
    The Expense form contains the main header type info you would typically find on an expense report; e.g., name, purpose, department, etc.
    The Expense Details form contains multiple detail expenses related to the main expense report such as airfare, rental car, etc.
    I have created a page that displays an expense report with all of the related expense detail items.
    The page contains a link to add a new expense detail and passes the Expense ID of the Expense form to the Expense Detail form.
    This all works fine.  The problem comes in after the first expense detail form is submitted.
    I can successfully submit the first detail item.  However, the expense detail form loses the Expense ID that was passed to it after the first expense detail form has been submitted.
    The parameter still shows in the URL but the detail form no longer shows the value of the parameter.
    What do I need to do in order to be able to add multiple expense detail items using the same Expense ID that was passed to the form?
    I have tried using a Submit Behavior of Open a new form, Close the form, and Leave the form open.
    None of these options give me what I need.  Thanks for your help.

    Laura Rogers Blog
    In case anyone stumbles upon this looking for an answer. Laura Rogers has the answer found in the comments section of her blog above.  It’s not the best but it
    does work. You have to add an extra Info Path Web Form for it to work. I know, you can roll your eyes.<o:p></o:p>
    Steps.<o:p></o:p>
    1. Add Query String<o:p></o:p>
    2. Add the extra Info Path form to the page. This form will be a hidden on the page and will receive the value from the query string.<o:p></o:p>
    3. Add your original Info Path form and have it receive a parameter from the hidden Info Path form.<o:p></o:p>
    Now, when you hit save and it opens a new form the 3 Info Path form will function properly. <o:p></o:p>

  • Search Panel in Master-Detail Page

    Hi experts,
    I've stuck to a wierd problem, where i've implemented a master-detail relationship in a page. This works fine.
    I've also created a search page seperately for this. But now, i'm confused on how to add an item into the searchPanel which would be mapped with a detail attribute.
    For E.g:
    ===============================================================
    SearchPage: (1st Page)
    Item1 __________________
    Item2 __________________
    Item3 __________________
    GO CLEAR
    ResultsTable:
    Item1 || Item2 || Item3
    ==============================================================
    CreatePage: (2nd Page)
    Master Details.... CANCEL APPLY
    Item1 ____________________
    Item2 ____________________
    Item3 ____________________
    Details .....
    Item4 || Item5 || Item6
    CANCEL APPLY
    ===================================================================
    **Now i wanna add "Item4" into the search panel of the SearchPage. I hope its clear to you, in case not, just poke me once.
    Regards
    Ari

    Oh !! Gosh Keerthi,
    I know that, how to add attributes into the searchPanel. U're not getting the pulse of the problem. Lemme explain it once again...
    I've got two VOs .. Lets say !! MasterTableVO and DetailTableVO.
    Now in the "SearchPage", i've referenced only the MasterTableVO from advancedTable and got simpleSearchPanel on advancedTable where i've 3 items ITEM1,ITEM2,ITEM3 (these 3 r MasterTableVO attributes.)
    **As this is a master-detail page .. so for each master table record, there r multiple detail records entered in the 2nd Page.
    Now supposedly, i wanna search only those master detail records in the SearchPage which contains a certain "XYZ" value for the ITEM4(this is in DetailTableVO) in the detail records.
    So, To your inquiry .. No, Item4 doesn't exists in the VO referenced in the advancedTable of the SearchPage.
    Regards
    Ari :)

  • Creating multiple similar pages in DW

    Hi there,
    I'm trying to create multiple similar pages in DW. It's no funky stuff, just I've got a lot of videos (clean stuff) that I wish to display, one video per page and I've got like a 1000 videos or so.
    Example:
    http://goo.gl/KqdXp
    Now, creating a copy of the page, changing the name and changing the fields in the code for every single page would be an option but would take forever. I wonder if there's a function in DW to automate the process, like creating page after page with only a certain part of the code differing.
    I really need to automate this or my fingers will start bleeding.
    Kind regards
    Pongy
    Contact Details: http://goo.gl/wRVT6

    Yes, I was thinking about creating some sort of database first but as a matter of fact it might just be a better solution to create 1000 pages in this case because I would like to be able to customize each page individually when the need occurs.
    I mean creating a thousand pages is relatively easy per se, it's just that I would like this tiny piece of code to differ between them... I guess DW perhaps does not have a built in function to do this... I was looking to other solutions like Drupal or Joomla but I'm sort of accustomed to using DW for web editing needs and if possible I would like to stick to the same platform that I'm used to rather than engulfing lots of new info about CMS systems... And databases, which I haven't been working a lot with.
    Obviously, creating a 1000 pages might seem brutish at first but I've been thinking about it for a while and I think it could actually suit my needs.

  • Examples of Master with multiple details

    Hi Leo,
    I want to create Master with multiple details
    I have been trying for the similar example (Master with multiple details) for long time.
    It seems in the following link, you have mentioned that you have done such examples.
    Examples/Demos of APEX applications with Master with Multiple Details.
    Can you please share the solution to my emaid address [email protected]
    Or can anybody help me to get such solution with examples step by step.
    I would highly appreciate for any help.
    Thanks.

    Ok, so here's the rundown.
    Create a page with one "master" html region. In that region create your standard text/date/etc. items. Make sure that one of these is a hidden key field that is the key linking the master and details portions. Use a calculation to pre-populate the field from a sequence (or whatever uniqueness generator you choose). It is important to generate this key up front for the processing.
    Next I created one report region for each detail table I wanted to link in. Make sure to count the total number of fields you want to work with and that the total is LESS than 50. This is critical. The report should be selecting the columns from APEX_COLLECTIONS for display and manipulation on the screen. It is best to explicitly associate these to the Javascript column numbers now. I used a process to pre-populate my detail entry areas with default values for ease. I also included a button to add a row to each area, but you have to be careful here to use a good combination of form attributes so that the page refreshes don't SUBMIT yet.
    Once you have a report region generated from APEX_COLLECTIONS, you have to create the update processes that pull the information from the user modifications into the collection. This is the trickiest part of the whole thing. You have to use the APEX_COLLECTION.UPDATE_ITEM method, and you have to refer to the JavaScript column numbers for the source value and the collection column number for the destination. It is really easy to get these confused - I advise putting this all into a document or on a whiteboard for reference.
    Once you have the update processes written (I prefer writing one update process per detail section), write your processes to write the data to the database. Again, I suggest one process for each detail table. Trigger them to fire on submit.
    I also suggest creating a debug page to display all of the various collections and to help keep things straight. Once you have one detail area working, it is easier to get the others working.
    If you need actual code snippets, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

  • Governer limit for inserting a Custom section in detail page of SOD

    HI,
    I want to insert multiple custom section in detail page of Siebel on demand objects.
    What is the governer limit for insertion of the Custom sections?
    Thanks
    Yash

    Hi Sean,
    I am sorry for your confusion. Yes, your understanding is correct.
    I tried to add manually and i got the result as 'There can be at most 25 custom web applets in a detail page'. Is this correct?
    Thanks

  • Detailed page to be called and displayed from 3 different tabs

    Hi,
    That's my problem. I have a detailed form called from 3 different pages. When calling the detailed form the 3 tabs are highlighted.
    Is there any way to tell Apex which tab is to be highlighted on each time.
    Many thanks

    Hi,
    Why don't you simply NOT list the Detail page on any of the tab properties? i.e. when the detail page is being shown, none of the tabs will appear lit up. Would that work?
    Wouldn't this look akward?
    Or you could create the form region on Page 0 and conditionally display the region as appropriate so you don't have to duplicate it on multiple pages.
    The detail form contains two updatable regions. I don't think this is a good idea.
    Any ideas what people normally do in scenarios like mine?
    I don't mind replicating the page if "that's a good practice" but I would appreciate other suggestions.
    Many thanks again.

  • Could show more columns at detail page?

    we are new at html db, there are a few of questions we need to clear before we make decision to use HTML DB to develop our next version of application: (I seperate them at differenct topics).
    * By click link at query result page (table may has 5 columns), could show more columns at detail page (may 10 columns) with editable mode?
    Thanks
    Lei

    one way to do this would be to have your link take you to another similar looking page in your app that's an updatable report for the 10 columns you need. you could use our "tabular form" wizard to create that updatable report (if your tablular form is going to joining multiple tables, you might need to create an updatable view on the tables and build your form off that. you could also build that tabular form yourself. we have a how-to doc, "Build tabular forms for multi-row operations", for that at http://otn.oracle.com/products/database/htmldb/howtos/index.html ).

  • Master Detail page join

    I am trying to create a master - master -detail page
    environment in PHP which uses joining between two tables within the
    same MySQL db.
    The first page (chessmenu.php - recordset chessmenu) displays
    a list of chessboard types from a MySQL table called chessmenu in
    the chess db:
    The 3 fields are:
    itemID (auto_increment),
    itemName (ie. Marble) and
    itemType (M)
    (NOTE: In this test, there are 3 rows, Marble, Glass and
    Theme -
    itemType will be my joining field, M, G, and T respectively
    - which are all unique)
    I want this first page to link to the next page and send the
    URL parameter = chessboards.php?recordID=<?php echo
    $row_chessmenu['itemType']; ?>
    I created the second page (chessboards.php - recordset
    chessboards) and made the FILTER within the recordset as follows:
    itemType = URL Parameter recordID
    When I run the first page, displays the proper items,
    however, when I click one of those items (ie Marble (M)) it
    displays nothing on the second page. I ran the query TEST on the
    second page in the recordset filtering and when I enter M, it
    displays the correct records (2 total).
    They would then select the type of Marble Chess board from
    the second page, which would then, send them to the detail page (3
    pages total, thus my comment about Master, Master, Detail)
    What am I doing wrong? Am I sending the URL Parameter
    incorrectly? Any help would be appreciated. I thought I was
    following the instructions in the TUTORIAL on this site:
    "If the recordsets are different, make sure the recordset on
    the detail page contains at least one column in common with the
    recordset on the master page. The common column is usually the
    record ID column,
    but it can also be the join field of related tables."
    BTW - Both ItemType fields in both Tables are the same
    (CHAR(1))
    Thanks,
    Steve
