Multiple dialog instances on same host for different System

Dear Sir,
I install two dialog instances on same host ,one for DEV one for QAS.
First I install dialog instance for DEV and startup with no error.
Second dialog instance for QAS install with success end ,but can not start dispatchers.

It appears to be possible, at least in IDM 7.1
The release notes and Installation guide reference a setting called waveset.serverId that you set in your application server startup script like so:
-Dwaveset.serverId=Name
This would allow each JVM to identify itself differently from any others running on the same physical server.
I haven't tried this yet myself, so caveat emptor.

Can multiple Identity Manager app server instances be run on the same host, connecting to the same db? If so, how is this accomplished. From what I see Identity Manager instances attempt to register themselves using the host name. Is there a property in the properties file that can set a unique name?

  • Multiple Oracle Clients on Same Machine for different apps

I was not able to find info that answered this so sorry if I missed something that explains this.
At our site we have many applications some I know lots about some I'm not even aware of because we have mulitple sites. The application I develop uses an Oracle 8.1.7 database. In the next year we are going to be upgrading to a 9i database. The app I program for is written in VB and uses 0040 with the 7.3.4 version. We want to upgrade our client to the latest version to use all the features of the 9i database when that times comes. Can we have our 9i client on the same machine that may have other apps that require the 8i client or even the 7.3.4 client without breaking them? The other apps may or may not use 0040. Some of these apps are Oracle Forms applications and some can be anything under the sun.
I still need to do testing to see what breaks but thought someone may already have the answers some of my ?'s Any tips or info you can provide would be great.
    Thanks

    Two possible answers
    1) Oracle added multi-home support to the Oracle client in 8i (may have been 8.0, I'm really not sure). This allows you to set up multiple 8i and above clients on a single machine in different Oracle Homes and should solve the majority of your problems. Having a 7.3.4 client installed wouldn't be supported, but 8i clients should have no difficulty connecting to a 7.3.4 database.
When Oracle added multi-home support, not all the Oracle client products were made multi-home compatible. The ODBC driver, for example, wasn't multi-home compatible until significantly later patchsets. I belive that OO4O has been multi-home compatible since the client has been, though.
    2) From a technical standpoint, you should be able to have a 7.3.4 client alongside 8i and above clients. In my experience, this works, but isn't something that Oracle supports.

  • Run a query multiple times in the same report for different nodes in Hier

    Hi,
I have created a query as per my requirements. But my issue is I need to run the report for all the profit centers in a hierarchy. Right now I enter a node value of the hierarchy in the variable and I get the result. But I want to run it for each node in the hierarchy and display the result in the same report. Is it possible to do so in web using information broadcaster or any BI 7.0 tools. Has anyone done similar to this in web. I would prefer the web route rather than the excel but if excel is the only answer I will follow the excel path.
Looking forward to your suggestions on this.
    Thanks,
    Kal

    Hello Kal,
if the number of Profit Centers is limited, you could probably work with query views (one for each PC) and include all these into your Web Template.
If this is not appropriate, I don´t know if there is any way of programming possible.

  • How to purchase multiple copies of the same song for different people?

I am planning a children's musical and wanted to know how to handle this situation. Say I wanted 30 copies of a song to put on CD's for the kids to take home and practice. How do I handle that purchase? I want to legally be able to make 30 copies of a song for 30 different children. Where do I start? Thanks!

If you are in the USA and are using the songs as part of a non-profit educational institution, the rules governing the use of copyrighted material are different from other uses. Do a web search on the "Technology, Education and Copyright Harmonization Act of 2001," also known as the TEACH Act, or ask the legal advisor of your school.

  • How to divide SAPS when having two instances on same host

    Hello
I wander how to divide SAPS when having two instances on same host. By looking at st06?
    Thank you in advance

Yes SAPS is nothing but the CPU power used by the SAP systems. SO if you have 2 SAP systems stacked on the same server, check the CPU utilization over a period of 7 - 10 days, average out & that should give you a fair bit of idea.

  • SAP XI 3.0 Same source for different target in std Value mapping function

    Hi,
We have replicated 4 value mapping entries from R3 to XI having the same Context , Agency , Schema and value for source, but each of the 4 values has the same Context and Agency but different Schema and Value respectively.
    To illusstate :
    Source                             |Target
Context Agency Schema    Value -----Context Agency   Schema     Value
    CS1      AS1      SS1      1        CT1       AT1      ST1       A
    CS1      AS1      SS1      1        CT1       AT1      ST2       A
    CS1      AS1      SS1      1        CT1       AT1      ST3       B
This value mapping is not working and we always get the source value as the result.
We are wondering if the reason for this is that we use the same source for different targets. But we are not 100 % sure of it.
When I read the documentation on Value mapping or when we use the value mapping standard function in graphical mapping, we pass the context , agency and schema of the source and target respectively and the source value to get the target value, and this combination is always unique in our case as seen in the above example.
Has anyone faced this kind of an issue, if yes I would appreciate if anyone could help us resolve this problem.
    Thanks in advance.
    regards,
    Advait

    Hi Advait,
From the below what I understand is that you are not able to do value mapping for the follwoing
    1     A
    2     A
    3     B
As value mapping allow one to one mapping only. Please do it like as mentioned below
    1     1*A
    2     2*A
    3     3*B
Then in the graphical mapping of Integration Repository do the mapping for the same as shown below
    source field > VALUEMAPPING> UDF--> TARGET Field
In UDF suppress the value of  1* , 2* , 3* which can be done as follows
create one UDF with one input field
//write the code as below to suppress the field
    return input.substring(2);
Here the davantage of using 1* , 2* , 3* etc is that you have the option to use value mapping for 100 values which I think is not normally the case for any Interface.
If you have same source you can do the same thing for that.
Hope this helps you to resolve your query.
    Thanks & Regards

  • PPOME - Can't insert the SAME task for different organization unit

    Hi all,
I have a doubt; in SAP 46C, it seems that is impossible to insert in PPOME, Detailed window, Tasks tab the same task for different organization unit. The only way to do this is in PP01 - General management, where you can explicitely create a [B-007] relations with the same "T" Object. Now, it is a little bit difficult for a user to switch from PPOME ad PP01 when defining new organizational structure.
The question: is there any way to insert the <b>SAME</b> task directly in PPOME, overwriting the standard behaviour of the system that by default create a new task for each new insertion?
    Thanks all
    Paolo

    Hi Naveen
thank you for your prompt reply.
The issue that I want to solve is that some organization unit (not all) must be flagged for an external export to another system, depending on some characteristic of each org unit. I didn't find a similar attribute on standard field, so I thought to insert a common task to all the org units to export, so that this relation can serve as the missing attribute on org unit definition.
PP01 let me insert a task (type T, and not TS) on an org unit directly, so I want to know if I'm going to break some standard behaviour of SAP if I insert a task on OU.
    Thank you

  • Multiple AIA instances on same server?

    Hi,
Does anyone know how to install multiple AIA instances on the same SOA server? The installer hints that this might be possible, although I have not seen how this is done because the installer expects an empty oracle home path. The only information I have found so far is for an earlier 2.x release of AIA and that suggested:
"Each SOA installation must be in his own ORACLE_HOME directory.
Each AIA installation must be in his own ORACLE_HOME directory.
You must point to different databases. You can not have mulitple SOA schema's in one sinlge database."
    Is this true?

    Hi Laxman,
If its a testing purpose its ok to have a one oracle_home and single listener for multiple DB. One problem when applying oracle patches for one of the instances running in a multiple DB running then you need to bring all the DB running in that host since the oracle_home is sharing between all db instances.
    Thanks
Sunil Rajesh K.C.Starting with 11g, patchset updates are full installs and done into a new home. This makes it possible to migrate one instance at a time. However, your point would be a consideration for one-off patches like CPUs.
However, please note ... OP --- PLEASE NOTE even with multiple oracle homes, you still only need a single listener.

  • Bug - multiple related instances of same class

We've discovered a rather subtle bug in the process by which Kodo
searches for reachable related objects to persist. If an instance of a
PC class (A) has two relationships to the same PC class (B), and both
related instances of B have the same value for their PK-field, then only
one of the related instances of B will be persisted.
Obviously, this problem only occurs in the context of application
identity. We've only encountered it when all the instances involved are
newly created and being made persistent for the first time (else the
instances would have different PK-values). It should also be noted that
we're assigning PK-values in jdoPreStore(). Here's the specific
    situation we encountered:
Class A has two relationships to class B, represented by fields "B b1"
and "B b2". In our case, A.b1 is the many-side of a bidirectional
one-to-many relationship; the one-side is implemented by a field "List
aList" in B. A.b2 is the navigable side of a unidirectional
relationship; there is no corresponding field in B. (We haven't checked
whether or how the cardinality or navigability of the relationships
    affects the problem.)
Let "a1" be the sole instance of A. If a1.b1 is set to an instance of B
but a1.b2 is null, and makePersistent( a1 ) is called, then a1 and b1
are persisted correctly and the relation field b2_id in TableA is NULL.
However, if a1.b2 is set to a second instance of B and both instances of
B have the same initial value of their PK-field, then a.b2 is not
persisted. Only one record is added to TableB; it corresponds to A.b1.
Interestingly, in this case the relation field b2_id in TableA is not
NULL, but has the default value of b2's PK-field. jdoPreStore() is not
called on b2 and b2 is not persisted, but its PK-field is read in the
    process of persisting a1.
Since we've placed the jdoPreStore() callback in a common non-persistent
adapter superclass, we're currently able to work around the problem with
a static "seed" PK value that is incremented in the superclass default
constructor to provide a unique initial value for each PK-field. If
anyone would like the code for this approach we'll post it, although
it'll become unnecessary when the problem is fixed.

I'm curious what behavior, besides throwing an exception, could even be
possible. If the pm discovers two object with the same id, it seems that it
has to choose one of them to make persistent. How could it possibly resolve
differences in the fields of the two instances in deciding which one is the
correct one to put in the db? Additionally, allowing this behavior could
lead to subtle, difficult to detect bugs in your program, since ( as Abe
points out ) JDO promises that there will only be one instance of an object
with a given primary key per PM. Other code may make decisions based on
this expectation ( like refreshing one of the objects after making a change
in a different PM ), that would lead to problems for code still hanging on
    to the second instance.
IMHO, it should throw an exception.

Thanks for the bug report! However, I'm not entirely sure that this is a
bug (at least not the bug you think it is); either way it's an extremely
interesting case. The reason I say it might not be a bug is thatassigning
pk values in jdoPreStore seems suspect.
We know that a single PM cannot at any time contain multiple instances
with the same oid value, app id or otherwise. This is obvious from the
getObjectById method -- only one object can have a particular oid.
We also know that jdoPreStore is called only for instances managed by a
    PM (duh!).
Thus it should not be possible to see a case where jdoPreStore is
called for 2 objects with the same initial oid.
Now, I realize that when you're dealing with persistence-by-reachability
things become less clear. However, I think the general point stands: at
the time that the objects are made persistent they all must have unique
oid values, and objects must be made persistent before jdoPreStore is
    called.
Technically we could get around this. The current
    persistence-by-reachability algorithm is something like:
    flushed = {}
    while flushed.size < persistent.size:
    for each persistent instance:
    if instance not in flushed:
instance.jdoPreStore // may persist more instances
instance.persistFirstClassFields // may persist more too
    flushed += instance
In sum this is a breadth-first method of persisting relations. It could
be changed to a depth-first system instead of persisting all first class
fields each one is persisted and then immediately the algorithm is
repeated for that object before the other fields are touched. However,
this seems like it might lead to other unexpected behavior.
Generally, it just seems like waiting till jdoPreStore to assign the oid
of an object seems like a bad idea. I think the real bug is that Kodo is
not throwing an exception as soon as 2 object with the same oid are
detected (currently it just lets one overwrite the other in the cache,
which results in the behavior you see).
Does anyone else have an opinion on this? I'm certainly not fixed on my
interpretation of things; if you disagree I'd be very interested in
    hearing other arguments.

    Yes you can but:
Each SOA installation must be in his own ORACLE_HOME directory.
Each AIA installation must be in his own ORACLE_HOME directory.
You must point to different databases. You can not have mulitple SOA schema's in one sinlge database.

  • Can you change rollover text in the same slice for different triggers?

Hi, I haven't used Fireworks since version 3, which was about 6 years ago, when I dabbled in web development.  My past has come back to haunt me, and I need to make a fairly simple website pretty quickly for my boss.  I've got myself CS4, and now that I've figured out that you can't use buttons for disjoint rollovers, I'm starting to make progress...
What I want to achieve, is that there are 6 'buttons' on my page, which when you rollover them will display text in a box to the side.  I would use separate boxes for each button, but there isn't enough space on the page, as there is quite a lot of text, so I would like to use a box in the same place to display any of the 6 texts, depending on which button is rolled over.  Can this be done?
I probably haven't quite got my head round layers, and this may be very simple, but could someone please point me in the right direction, even if it is a link to the right bit on product help?
Because the button disjoint rollover doesn't work, I have created 6 slices for the triggers.  I tried hotspots first, but couldn't use them as I also want a rollover live filter effect on the trigger.

Yes, you can trigger different slice contents on rollover from multiple other slices.
It's easier to show than describe, so here is a sample file that does what I think you're looking for:
    (1) six buttons
    (2) each button has unique text
    (3) each button has a rollover state
    (4) unique text is displayed in the same place for each button on rollover
    Hope this helps!

  • Multiple connections/roles on same machine for same site?

As a Contribute CS3 Administrator (newbie; just converted a
Dreamweaver site to work with Contribute), can I set up multiple
connections to the same site? I want to test the Publisher role and
Writer role on my development machine before creating connnection
keys for these roles for the customer who owns the site (and is
waiting with new Contribute licenses and eager but idle staff)?
I just want to be able to test my site under these roles
(using different passwords and username/email addresses), but there
seems no obvious way to do this as Contribute seems to allow me to
set up only one connection per URL, and also seems to want to wipe
out my existing Admin connection if I come on in another role (from
a connection key generated for a Publisher or Writer role).

    Two problems with that:
    1. Tried it by creating a connection key for a Publisher
role, but invoking the key zaps the old connection, so I no longer
have Administrator access without deleting then re-creating the
connection and setting myself up as Admin again.
    2. When I went into the (new) connection as Publisher, it
would let me connect and see pages, but would NOT allow editing of
any pages (even though I had specifically looked when originally
defining the role to make sure all editing privileges were -- or
    appeared to be -- intact).
