Multiple Logins of single user

How do we prevent a single user from multiple logins on IDM.
If the user has already logged-in, IDM should prevent the same user when tries to login again.

This is really difficult to implement. The app server takes care of most of this session behaviour and we can have mulitple IDM instances in a setup which makes this really difficult.
The other thing is how would you detect a second login? Does the second login come from the same IP or different IP? There are possible problems with all these scenarios.
It is an oustanding enhancement to give you this option but it will not come soon.

MULTIPLE LOGIN WITH SAME USER ID

Hi,
As per my understanding, multiple login to the portal with the same user id and password is allowed.
Now,
1. Is it possible to disbale this in the portal so that user can login to the portal only once?
2. Is it possible to allow specified no of logins with the same user id?

What you're trying to do just doesn't work that well with any web application, let alone NW. There are various problems with trying to restrict the number of sign ons:
If a user signs into the portal and then walks away, they are unable to sign in again from another workstation. What if they want to give a demo to a user elsewhere in the company while they're still signed in at their desk? This is really just a user-issue, but an annoying one that will almost certainly drive certain users nuts.
What if the user's web browser crashes (an unfortunately common occurence). They can't sign in again until their session times out. Either that, or they call the portal admin to clear out their session (how? I don't know). The portal admin probably has better things to do than cleaning up orphan sessions.
If a user can't sign in multiple times, they can always open a related browser session, thereby having multiple entry points into the portal.
So, in short, you really can't enforce a 'sign in once' rule. By association, you therefore can't restrict them to a maximum number of sign-ins either...

Don't forget to activate the RESOURCE_LIMIT parameter, which default is FALSE :

Laurent, I had a similar problem some time ago : I didn't want to avoid multiple access, but only control who was doing what. That's because moving from Client/Server to Web the TERMINAL column in V$SESSION becomes useless.
I tried your solution, but I had to give up with it, because in my Forms9i application some forms call Reports, which generate a new session.
I decided to use DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO, and this is satisfactory for my requirements, but I'm interested to discover other solutions.
P.S. with my solution I'm able to limit accesses, because in the CLIENT_INFO string I put, among other things, the
application user, so I can control if an user is already connected. The problem is that existing applications have to be modified .....:-(

Changing user login in single user mode?

Hi my computer (server10.3) is no longer booting up (stops at the blue screen just before the login).
only 2 things have changed since last time restarted
1) changed user login in in the prefs to automatic as my name
2) installed a security update
I am wondering - if I can get into single user mode - whether i can change or force the login details

Hi John,
   You can get into single user mode by depressing <Command>-s after the chime and holding it until you're in single user mode. Once you get there, I recommend that you run the following:
/sbin/mount -uw /
/usr/sbin/diskutil repairPermissions /
Repairing permissions is the classic first thing to do when you have problems after an update. After that, if we can help it will depend on your posting the error messages that are printed to screen before the login. If they get scrolled off the screen, you should be able to get them again with the command "dmesg".

Multiple members for single user variable???

Hi,
Can I select multiple members or a hierarchy for a single user variable?
My requirement is to use a dimension which consist of more than 100 members but the user will not enter data for 100 members
at the same time so I want to give user an option to select the members for which he wants to enter data.
I was thinking of using user variable but it is allowing me to select only one member for user variable created for that dimension,
that means if he has to enter data for 10 members he has to change that variable 10 times or I have to use 10 different user variable for that dimension.
what if any user wants 20 members, at that time I have only 10 user variables.

If so, you can use IDescendants<user variable> in the form's page. And you can also use dynamic user variable option.

S_TABU_LIN from multiple roles to single user

Hi everybody
There is such situation:
We are restricting the values of infoobject using S_TABU_LIN
Everything is working fine if the user has authorization assigned only
by one role.
If the user has more then one role assigned then user has only values
authorized that are included in the first role. All authorizations from
other roles are not available

The problem is that user can get only that values from /BIC/ZMINISTRY
that are authorized in role1
Values authorized in role2 and role3 are not available.
What could be a problem???

Are you using BI7 as authorization?

When you grant users "read" permission, then copying is possible and if you grant users "modify" permissions, they can also have "cut" permissions.
The 'system01' share folder is created by user 'system01'? If so, you could grant "creator owner" permissions to configure users only can access their own folder.

RDP Causing multiple logins on one user

So recently, whilst adjust my wamp server, RDP decided to do something I have not yet experienced. i have my system set with a password and set to auto login to the only active user. but now, after doing nothing related to users/logins or RDP, when i open
an rdp session, it acts like it is loging in for the first time (all startup programs...start) and it doesnt log out the main session, thusly causing it to run 2 of all the programs, which is causing conflicts.

Here for your issue, I can say that you can check the connection settings of RDSH server under group policy. You can set in Server’s local policy using
gpedit.msc for this setting “Restrict Remote Desktop Services users to a single Remote Desktop Services session” under below mention path.
Computer Configuration\ Administrative Templates\ Windows Components\ Remote Desktop Services\ Remote Desktop Session Host\ Connections\
In addition you can also try to edit server’s registry setting.

Multiple Dashboard for single user

I want to create different dashboards for different users. Do I have to login as these different users & create the dashboards or is there a better way?

No. You can create the dashboards as Administrator or any login that has privileges to create dashboards. It is when you deploy the dashboards that you can either restrict viewability or just default it to a certain dashboard. You can use session variables to direct users and My Account to default to a certain dashboard.

How can point single user to multiple groups in ACS

we are having almost 150 NDG groups in my ACS Server, in that one group is specifically for Security devices like pix & ASA's.
Now My requirement is that i want to Restrict this Security NDG group to one Specific Group under Group setup menu in ACS.
is it possible in ACS Server.
If it possible how can i point multiple multiple groups to single user.
Because not all users required access to this Security NDG group. only few users require the access.

Hi,
We had given BW access to the end users through WEB. Users access all BW reports by logging through IE Browser.
We are trying to restrict Multiple Logins of the user when the login is through Web Browser. How do we do this?
We understand that we can restrict SAP GUI Mulitple logins through system parameters. But , when the login is through Web Browser, how do we control multiple logins of the same user?
Please help us to resolve this issue.

How to make ISE to only allow one guest-user account login at a time. the actual issue I have is- when I give one Guest user-id to someone, he can circulate that user-id with others and multiple unauthorized guests can use that single user-id to connect to Guest-portal

Restricting Guests to One Active Network Session
You can restrict guests to having only one device connected to the network at a time. When guests attempt to connect with a second device, the currently-connected device is automatically disconnected from the network.
This is a global setting affecting all Guest portals.
Step 1 Choose Administration > Web Portal Management > Settings > Guest > Portal Policy.
Step 2 Check the Allow only one guest session per user option.
Step 3 Click Save .

A lil back ground, i'm working on a MacBook Pro 3,1 running OS X Tiger 10.4.(something, no idea), the The user has forgotten their account password. Now before you tell me to just change it through the Root Admin account, that account seems to have its own issues, the accounts do not show up in the system preferences, therefore not allowing me to change that users account password.

Once I'm able to login into the users account, is there any way to disable / erase / eradicate the key chain system?

All of a sudden the MacBook has lost all audio capability, both in the built in speakers and through the headphone jack.
i'm open to any ideas, its currently 10:14am the user is wanting this to be done by 2:45pm please help i'm desperate and i don't want to be defeated by a Mac

It's possible some of these things are related. I'd first do a basic verification of the computer's system.
First, if at all possible make a backup of the drive in its present configuration. If something goes wrong during repair attempts and makes things worse you will have a backup. You will have to decide how to work this in the light of any present backups you may have, for example, a backup that may be a few days out of date. In that case you may want to keep that one and make a second backup of this as they are now, though I realize people often don't have a lot of empty drives sitting around.
Boot from the System installer disc that came with your computer or is the one for the version you currently have on there, select language if applicable, choose utilities, run Disk Utility and verify (and repair if necessary) the drive. You can verify a drive from DU on your main drive while booted but I have found this can result in incorrect reporting of errors. To repair your drive you have to run it from a drive other than the boot drive anyway.
Next, boot from your drive in [Safe Mode|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107393] and repair permissions. You can repair permissions while booted from the installer disc but this uses the permissions configuration on the installer disc which may be out of date if you have run any updates on your computer. Booting your computer to Safe Mode restricts the number of things running on your computer while permissions are being run and does a bit of spring cleaning at the same time.

How to provision multiple AD Accounts to a single User Profile in OIM

We are using OIM 11g R2. We have implemented AD Provisioning/Reconciliation using Active Directory 11g Connector.
The correlation rule for linking AD accounts with OIM during target recon is set as “Email ID”
We have some business requirement where we want to provision multiple AD Accounts to a single User Profile in OIM.
Issue we are facing:
Suppose we have USERID1 in OIM which has email id as USERID1@ XYZ.COM .
After that we have provisioned sAMAccountName=USERID1 (Email ID as USERID1@ XYZ.COM )& sAMAccountName=USERID2 (Email ID as [email protected]) to the user User Login = USERID1 in OIM.
Both the AD User accounts can be seen as provisioned.
After we run the AD Target Recon, the target recon is failing because of “Multiple Process Matches Found” issue.
Question here is:
Is it possible to maintain/manage multiple AD Accounts (Same AD is used for all the multiple AD Accounts) to a single OIM profile user ?

We have seen its working and linking multiple accounts when we have Key field as "User ID" in the Process Defn & RO and the recon matching rule has email ID as the matching rule.
Please suggest, if we are having the above kind of rule/config...will it not cause any issue?
