Multiple Properties

Hi,
I have a system property set using the JVM environment variable. Now for some reason in the future if there arises a necessity to change this or add a new property, is there a way to do this?
String prop1 = System.getProperty("property1");for some reason in the future we need to change property1 to X from Y the way i can think of changing this is to change the VM variable directly.
BUT if there is a situation where there is a possiblity that this property can either be X or Y then what can i do?
how do i dynamically in the code change from X to Y?
A scenario could be the DB i'm pointing to, could be a test environment initially then to a production etc...
Any help and/or pointers is appreciated!

Michael,
What's your directory structure?
Maybe you should try
-Dweblogic.system.home=d:\weblogic\sbdev
-rrc

  • Sort Multiple Properties

    Hello All,
    I have created few properties in KM and would like to know how can I <b>facilitate multiple sort functionality</b> in it.
    Currently it is sorting on only 1 property but I would like it to sort on multiple properties.
    Example: Initial Sortt on property A, then on property B such that actual sorting is on properties A & B.
    Awaiting Reply.
    Thanks and Warm Regards,
    Ritu

    Hi Detlev,
    Firstly thank you for your reply.
    Yes I do agree with your reply for the customization part.
    Since I had never customized this part earlier, i am currently doing a lot of reading stuff, trying to understand the internal details so that I know exactly what is to be customized in proper steps.
    I would definitely write back to you as soon as I start the customization.
    Thanks and Warm Regards,

  • AS2: how to apply multiple properties to a single movieclip

    Hi there
    Is there a way, in ActionScript 2, to set multiple properties for an exising movieclip in one command?
    For example, is there a way to write something like this more succinctly?:
    myMovieClip._x = 10;
    myMovieClip._y = 10;
    myMovieClip._alpha = 100;
    myMovieClip._rotation = 0;
    I'm thinking something like:
    myMovieClip(some bit of code)(_x = 10, _y = 10, _alpha = 100, _rotation = 0);
    I'd appreciate any advice.

    Not really, since you would have to specifically assign each property separately at some point.  You could create a function that you feed the object and the property values into, but that function would need to handle assigning the individual properties one at a time.

  • Multiple properties tween class

    im having trouble figuring out how to script a tween in AS3 with multiple properties.  I have the single property syntax down, like such,
    import fl.transitions.Tween;
    import fl.transitions.TweenEvent;
    import fl.transitions.easing.*;
    var name:Tween = new Tween( gar, "x",  Regular.easeInOut, 60, 300 , 3, true);
    but if I want multiple properties, im having trouble finding that info.
    thanks.

    i think ive got it.  I dropped the var and just did the new Tween statement like such;
    new Tween( gar, "x",  Regular.easeInOut, 60, 300 , 3, true);
    new Tween( gar, "y",  Regular.easeInOut, 60, 300 , 3, true);
    each new tween acted out at the same time.

  • EPMDimensionOverride - Multiple Properties and Members

    Hello Experts,
    I am having trouble getting an =EPMDimensionOverride formula to work for multiple Properties and Members.  Currently we override our EMPLOYEE Dimension based on the COST_CENTER property.  The Formula is =EPMDimensionOverride("000","EMPLOYEE",A3) where A3 equals COST_CENTER = 1234.
    I want add an additional filter to Exclude a couple members from the GROUP property.  The Members are "Hourly" and "Temp"
    I have tried a couple versions including =EPMDimensionOverride("000","EMPLOYEE",A3 & GROUP <> Hourly, Temp) and  =EPMDimensionOverride("000","EMPLOYEE",A3; GROUP <> Hourly, Temp)
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,

    I am dynamically filtering the members with the help of property Entity here. But at the same time i need to have the immediate parent values of these members also along with these members, which have the property entity = BLDG.

  • Using Multiple Properties Files in Struts Framework

    Hi Everybody!
    I just to know how to use a multiple message-resources files in a Struts Framework.
    I've 2 properties file :
    1. ApplicationResources_A.properties
    2. ApplicationResources_B.propertiesI put the files under WEB-INF/classes dir.
    My configuration in struts-config file something like below:
    <!--  Begin Testing -->
         <message-resources key="A" parameter="ApplicationResources_A" />
         <message-resources key="B" parameter="ApplicationResources_B" />
    <!--  End Testing -->
    </struts-config>
    if my JSP code is like below , this error is thrown:
    org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Cannot find message resources under key A
      <tr>
        <td width="17%">Language A</td>
        <td width="83%"><bean:message bundle="A" key="user.lang.desc"/></td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td width="17%">Language B</td>
        <td width="83%"><bean:message bundle="B"  key="user.lang.desc"/></td>
      </tr>
    but  if I change the  JSP code like below it  work fine:
      <tr>
        <td width="17%">Language A</td>
        <td width="83%"><bean:message key="user.lang.desc"/></td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td width="17%">Language B</td>
        <td width="83%"><bean:message  key="user.lang.desc"/></td>
      </tr>
    In this code , I dont know  which resources file is used.
    So how do I solve this problem. Thanks you.

    I have defined the following:
    struts-config.xml
    <message-resources key="ldap" parameter="com/project/struts/ldap"/>
    Action.java
    In execute method:
    MessageResources messageResources= MessageResources.getMessageResources("com/project/struts/ldap");
    System.out.println("INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY"+messageResources.getMessage("INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY"));
    and it is working, however I have to change "com/project/struts/ldap" value in Action.java file whenever there is any change in name or location of ldap.properties.
    Can I access this properties in such way that I don't have to change parameter path manually in Action.java (modifying in struts-config.xml is okay)? like access through key="ldap" or something.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Performing operations on multiple properties

    I would like to query the named cache, but return the sum of two properties. Is this possible?
    Something like
    new OperationExtractor(Operation.Sum, new ReflectionExtractor("Property1"), new ReflectionExtractor("Property2"))
    Or similarly in SQL
    SELECT SUM(Col1,Col2) FROM namedcache

    Hi Jonathan,
    JonathanKnight wrote:
    Rob,
    As you said, the example is not valid SQL, I believe what they want is this:
    SELECT cache.d, cache.e, cache.a + cache.b from cache where cache.c > 2 group by cache.d, cache.eObviously they will need the group by values returned to know what values of cache.d and cache.e each sum result is for.
    This is still not correct SQL because cache.a and cache.b are not in the group by clause and are not used as parameters to an aggregate function (min,max,sum,avg,whatever...), either.
    JonathanKnight wrote:
    I don't think the aggregation itself is going to turn out to be too much of an issue is is the second part of what they want, which they have touched on in this post and another post on the forums that will take more thinking about.
    When they get back the aggregation result set they want it to somehow stay "connected" to the underlying cache in the same way a continuous query works. Then if data in the underlying cache changes their aggregation result set they have on the client changes (.Net in this case).
    As far as I am aware there is no support for "continuous aggregation" functionality in Coherence, unless you know different with your encyclopaedic knowledge of Coherence.
    The obvious way to do it would be listen to the underlying cache and re-run the aggregation if data changes. The problem is this is not very optimal and they might have a lot of these aggregations and they take time to run over quite a bit of data. I can think of a couple of other more optimal ways to do this if there is nothing built into Coherence.Yes, I understand this, but that depends on how the total change set caused by the change to a single entry can be calculated.
    I also believe, there is no support for continuous aggregation in Coherence, but you can maintain an in-the-client-JVM data aggregate if you register an event listener in the CQC constructor.
    The cost of initializing and maintaining that aggregate depends on what part of the aggregate data-structure needs to be changed upon the change of a single entry.
    Of course that data-structure has to be maintained in a concurrent fashion as multiple events can be delivered concurrently from the CQC.
    Another problem is getting consistent information out of that aggregate data-structure since it may change while you are reading it.
    After all these, an index is just an aggregate data structure of the content of the cache, which has a structure that is fairly simple but it may be updated on multiple threads and may be updated while you are querying by it.
    Best regards,
    Robert

  • Managing deploy list with multiple .properties

    During the development process I and other engineers
    list the individual beans in the weblogic.properties'
    weblogic.ejb.deploy= list. We do this rather than create
    one big jar to deploy because it allows for quicker
    turnaround. The problem is that we may have more than
    one weblogic.properties file and we are adding and
    removing beans thus the deployment list
    can get out of date in a .properties file.
    Other than rolling all the beans into one jar file is there
    another way to keep the deploy list in sync across these
    various .properties files ? Is there such a thing as a
    way to include on .properties file inside another ?
    This is in a non-clustered environment.
    Thanks,
    Marlon

    You can still do the sorting through a Comparator
    The compare method should take
    public int compare(CustomerAddressVO o1, CustomerAddressVO o2) { //..so you can then do
    01.getCustomer().getName();
    //and
    o1.getAddress().getId() together with relevant null checks

  • Multiple Properties for Sprites

    Hey all,
    I don't think the title does my question justice. What I
    want to do is make a pull down menu of properties in my behavior,
    but have it be dependent on another selection right above it in the
    inspector. For instance, lets say I have a list of regions of the
    country, and another list of all the states. I want my behavior to
    show two pull down menus, but the second depends on what you choose
    in the first. If I chose "New England", then the second list would
    contain a list of the 6 New England states. Make sense? My problem
    is that I can't seem to retrieve a property from the sprite which
    running the getPropertyDescriptionList handler. Just to let you
    know what doesn't work...

    Try the code below. It will not work in the Behavior
    Parameters Dialog (the modal window that pops up when you drop the
    behavior on a sprite). However, if you select the sprite, then open
    the Property Inspector at the Behaviors tab, you can first select
    the area, then select the state. If you change the area without
    making a new choice of state, then the previous state will remain
    chosen, but will now be associated with the wrong area.
    Does this help?

  • Using multiple referenced Properties within EPMDimensionOverride

    Hi experts,
    there's my question: I'd like to override dimension members of a specific dimension based on two properties, which come from excel cells.
    The following IS working:
    One property with one Cell-Reference:
    =EPMDimensionOverride("000","MyDimension","Property1 =" &CellReference1)
    Two  Properties with static property names:
    =EPMDimensionOverride("000","MyDimension","Property1 = Value; Property2 = Value")
    What IS NOT working (but needed);
    =EPMDimensionOverride("000","MyDimension","Property1 =" &CellReference1;","Property2 =" &CellReference2)
    I hope it's a syntax thing.

  • Commas in the weblogic.properties file

    I hate to ask this question because I'm sure the answer is a)obvious, and
    b)well-known, but I'm playing in the slow group today.
    How does one include a comma in a property value in the weblogic.properties
    file. Specfically, I'm trying to set weblogic.system.startupArgs as follows
    weblogic.system.startupArgs.xxxx=sql=select sysdate from dual where
    mod(to_number(to_char(sysdate, 'MI')), 2) = 0
    The value assigned to the "sql" arg is truncated at the first comma and a
    second argument "'MI'))" is created. Very irritating. Any ideas on how to
    prevent this from happening?
    Ignore the details of the sql statement, its just for testing.

    Thanks for the reply, but that didn't seem to work. Escaping the commas
    with back-slash delivered the same result.
    It seems that since the value for the weblogic.system.startupArgs.xxxx
    property can itself be a set of multiple properties, the normal parsing
    rules don't apply when the "inner" set of properties is parsed. For
    example, if weblogic.properties has
    weblogic.system.startupArgs.xxxx=aaaa=X\,Y
    then it appears that "startupArgs.xxx" is being assgined "aaaa=X,Y".
    However, when the startup class gets the arguments, whatever routine is
    parsing the value of "startupArgs.xxx" is seeing the comma and deciding that
    there are two properties, not one. So the startup method of my startup
    class gets 2 arguments: "aaaa=X" and "Y=".
    I tried all the old Korn shell tricks I could remember like aaaa=X\\\,Y.
    But all I got was "aaaa=X\" and "Y=".
    Any other thoughts or am I trying something I wasn't supposed to do?

  • Properties files in a Java package not included in DC build

    We are developing a Portal Standalone DC and i have a JspDynPage component within it. and i need to do internationalization in  it. so as part of that i want to keep multiple resource bundles(properties) so that i could manage my properties files easily, For example
    MSS.properties
    MSS_es.properties
    ESS.properties
    LSO.properties
    since portal by default has no way to do this bcos it allows only one resourcebundle to specify in portalapp.xml file, i have kept the resource bundles in java package like
    com.companyname.portal.resources.
    when i export from NWDS with selection of "i want to add non java resources into jar " option from windows->preferences->enterprise portal ->application development studio, it exports all the properties files as part of the par and everything works. but when i do the DC build it ignores all my properties files and it is not working. any suggestions on how to resolve this??? does SAP provide any other way of handling multiple properties files inside a PAR?????

    We are using NWDS 2004 SP19.  and yes i have defined three default SCs as dependencies. I tested with 2004s NWDS and it seems work fine. I am able to resovle this issue by moving my properties files into another java DC and create public part in java DC and use those public parts in Portal application DC.
    So The problem of not including the properties files into Jar seems to be issue only in Portal Application DC not in Java DC. thanks everyone for the quick responses..

  • Over riding a properties file?

    Is there a way to pass a new properties file on the command line that will over-ride a properties file embeded in the jar file?
    Our deployment would otherwise involve creating multiple copies of one jar file with slightly different properties files (and this is 3rd party so I can't get the devs to change it).
    Cheers,
    Seigers

    Hmmm, I'll assign the dukes, but it wasn't a world changing answer - RTFM for dukes is a bit cheeky!
    The correct answer appears to be that if we copy the properties file from the jar to the deployment directory and delete it from the original jar file, so long as we put the deployment dir in the classpath the new properties file will be picked up.
    E.g.
    c:\product\javalibs\myjar.jar <- Contains 'myprop.properties' on install.
    Use zip to extract myprop.properties and copy it to say c:\myproject\props\
    Use zip to delete myprop.properties from the jar file and include c:\myproject\props\ in your classpath.
    Java will then find the properties file from the classpath when it can't find it in the jar file.
    As intended you can now copy the properties file to c:\mynextproject\props and modify it then include it in that deployments classpath and you have one app install with multiple properties.
    In fact no, I'm not going to award the dukes as the Jar command wouldn't even begin to help solving that lot (except arguably the extract of the props file).
    Hope the above helps someone else as well as me.
    Cheers
